Frauds, liars and scam artists. They dragged out a claim for MONTHS, then refused to pay out on a legitimate auto claim with mountains of evidence, even after previously promising to pay. They are bullies and will take advantage of you if it saves them a penny. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I wish there was an option for Zero Stars. Our accident was on February 19th of this year. We were rear-ended while on vacation by a Safeco insured car. My husband and I were both injured and had a month of Physical Therapy. Safeco has had all of our medical bills and any other information needed to complete the claim since April 4th. We have had to call the agent assigned to our claim about 3 times a week to get any type of update and that was usually just a "we're working on it".

Last week our emails to the agent started being "returned to sender". He is no longer with the company. No one contacted us. After about 3 voicemails to another agent who's number was on our original agent's voicemail finally called us and gave us the name of our new agent. She has contacted us once to say that she was reviewing our information. That was a week ago. We have had nothing since.

We have reached out to corporate 3 times, nothing except the auto generated response. I am sorry if you are paying Safeco your monthly premiums. I hope they treat you better than the people you are hitting. I never expected to be so ignored and passed off when in an accident we were not at fault in. I just hope to have our lost wages covered and a small amount for the pain and suffering my family endured.

I am only putting a star because I had to to be able to write a review. This company is awful. They have made me pay fees that I have already paid over and over. They seem confused on the phone every time I talk to them. And because of their miscommunication and mistakes they re telling me I am at risk for being cancelled. They told me that I needed to drive IN THE SNOW for at least 20 mins a day I did this for my Discount (I did the tracker so I could get a discount based on my driving) and now they re saying that I owe MORE money because I failed to activate the sensor.... which has been plugged in and blinking for over a month now. They also failed to reach out to me to let me know it wasn t working.... if that s the case. Now something that should be like $400 is over $1000. They re unreasonable.

Long story short. I had my car get hit by a guy who was backing up from a parked spot while my car was on the move he had Safeco insurance. After claiming my accident, and making me wait for three weeks,
I got a call from a body through safeco insurance. I took my car they inspected the damage and gave me the estimate. I talked to Safeco Adjuster and informed him that I didn't wanted the scratched rim to be repaired and that needs to replaced. first they accepted the liability to fix my car but when I denied to have my brand new 2018 car part not get replaced. thats when the adjuster disappeared. I emailed him so many times and left voicemail on his direct number but never heard anything back from him. called their main customer number and had to dig and get the adjuster from hiding under his desk. :) the adjuster changed his decision from accepting full liability to accepting only 50% of the damage cost.
I am not with Safeco insurance but keep your fingers crossed that you would never ever open a claim with them.

My policy contract ended so I looked around and found cheaper insurance with the same coverage with Progressive... months later I receive a bill from safeco for 500+ dollars for service/coverage I never used as a cancelation fee. I would give them negative stars if I could. I've been driving and been insured with multiple insurance companies for the past 25 years and have never had an issue like this. Stay away

I was in a head-on auto accident that was not my fault and I had to fight with this company to get money for my truck, enough that it would actually be the actual cash value. They have procrastinated, lied, and been very deceptive and devious throughout this whole claims process. If you get a claims adjuster name Ashley Cleland you should run fast. I think my lawyer is planning on suing the company.

Do NOT use their "free windshield replacement", Safelite
They caused damage to my car by breaking the moldings when they replaced my windshield and refuse to pay the damages. It has been almost 2 months, without a resolution. I have never been lied to so much by one company.You are better off taking your car to a competent bodyshop and paying for it, trust me.

After paying for insurance for 20 years, we used our insurance for the first time this year. Their care and service was incompetent and they tried to cut every corner. It took months to get anything resolved. Then Safeco / Liberty Mutual sent us a letter discontinuing our insurance. Their reason was "because you used your insurance."

First, Safeco low-balls you on the price. Then they switch up the rep on your account so everything gets stuck in paperwork and slows things down. Then, they need to send an additional reviewer out to argue with any real contractor prices you'll find and then, once they cut you a check, they discontinue the service they provide to you.

Now, we can't get insurance ANYWHERE. I see these insurance commercials every day saying "accident forgiveness" and these insurance companies say they are here for you, but that is an outright lie. They only want your money and do not want to do anything to help you. Don't listen to their celebrities who are cashing in on the

If you want cheap its what you get. One of their insured hit my parked car. The estimate was $1200 from a reputable repair shop. Safeco offered a check at $900 to repair my car which is in perfect condition except for the damage caused by one of their drivers.

They delayed even approving for over 2 weeks. Then only authorized partial labor and after market parts. I wanted OEM. Alex Mayeux will not authorize the quote, stating the labor rates of Precision auto are to high and after market is acceptable. Safeco drivers need to have a warning on their cars to avoid them at your cost if they hit you and its their fault.

I hope you can tell how mad I am, as my car was in perfect shape prior to being hit parked in a parking spot.

I have just had a terrible experience with Safeco Insurance. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. They have just charged me double to reinstate a policy after a computer glitch dropped my account.

I'm an Uber driver in seattle. On the 14th of april, 2017. A driver covered by safeco side swiped my vehicle. The other party was at fault so Safeco claimed liability. At first they spent 10 days to claim liability, they put me in a rental but made me pay for the deposit and main coverage for the vehicle. After spending hours on the phone it was settled. Then, I told them that I can't work and make money and that I had bills I needed to pay and a family to take care of. They refused to pay me anything and said I had to the car had to be fixed to pay out for lost wages. The car wouldnt go to the shop until May 4th. I said that wasn't an option and then they said they could give me $2000 and I just had to sign for it. I get the email and took the document to a bank to have a witness. When I read the document. They were trying to pay out $2000 for the entire claim and no longer be held liable for the claim. They were trying to trick me into collecting $2000 for a potential $10000 claim. My cars damages $5000, the rental $50 a day, and the remainder of my lost wages. They are scam artists and don't care about the livleyhood of you or your family. They tried to use my loss of income against me to pay significantly lower on my entire claim. How dare Safeco. I'm never gunna let this down and I'm gunna do what Mark mentioned. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

In December 2017 I purchased auto insurance from Safeco's online dealer, Goji Insurance Agency in L.A. The agent was Kevin Gabbet. He wrote my bank account number WRONG, so the bank did not honor the premium payment. Safeco informed me, so I called Gabbet who admitted the error and promised to correct it. I was in Europe from February through end of March and came back to an insurance cancelation letter, and a threat for a collection agency for two months of premium, totaling $82.55. I called Gabbet several times and left messages to which he did NOT RESPOND. I wrote a long letter to Goji (Safeco) explaining my position but again, NO RESPONSE. A collection agency contacted me so I called the Seattle office and was directed to Taylor Standish, the assistant to the CEO. THREE CALLS to her number went UNANSWERED. i filed a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner's office. Then I just paid the billed amount, even though the whole matter originated from Safeco, just to get rid of them, as the cheapest solution, short of a law suit. Let this experience be a good warning of what one can expect from Safeco.

When we had a tree fall on our property we contacted Safeco to file a claim. Our phone calls and emails were not answered in a timely manner. We learned that they have a partnership with Liberty Mutual in handling homeowners insurance claims. We also discovered that because it didn't hit our home we were not covered. Fair enough, but it did hit our neighbors house and did damage to his rain gutters. After a claims adjuster asked us for the name and number of the homeowner, the homeowner called us and told us that Safeco Insurance was not going to cover the damage to his home either because "it was weather related."' So now, after I already paid A LOT of money for tree removal, now I'm on the hook to fix his rain gutter too! Please DO NOT buy insurance from Safeco! Their customer service and claims handling is the WORST and they won't pay any claims.

This is for safeco in general. I switch to them trying to save some money. After a couple of months a call them asking them to remove one of the cars because we sold it, and change the covarage on another one. They made effective starting the previous month, still they are charging me for it on my next payment. I called them and they said they will credit it for the following month but can't do anything about this charge even after I called them quite a few days in advance. I will sure cancel as soon as this policy period is over!

Need to add the option to select 'negative stars' for this group. Absolutely terrible insurance provider and I provide my rating based on long-term personal experience. Safeco gladly accepted 4 years worth of on-time monthly payments for full coverage on 3 vehicles and when it came time to cover a loss for something that I was insured for, they went out of their way to find a way to deny the claim. Safeco is the type of insurance provider that will spend more time and money to fight your claim, than it would cost to pay your valid claim. You provide the cash, they'll provide a fight against you when you need them. If you're looking for insurance from a customer focused group that truly cares about you, shop elsewhere. If you currently have Safeco insurance, beware.

Love them they are awesome. Best company I have ever come across when dealing with a claim on my home. I would refer any family, friends, coworkers and anybody that asked me! Love the claims process especially since they are a Liberty Mutual Insurance company now.

Don't walk, RUN from this company! It has been a complete nightmare dealing with them!! We have been trying for a few months now to cancel our mother's homeowners insurance and after running us through the wringer a few times they finally assured us that the policy has been canceled and they owe us a little back for over payment. Now we are receiving late notices threatening us that we will owe almost twice as much as what the premium was. After hours on the phone with them, we are still fighting with them. Also, we come to find out that after all these years Safeco has been ripping our mother off by charging her an outrageous premium. She was paying $2,700/year for basic homeowners insurance.
7-20-20 update on the above post: Safeco finally got everything taken care of but it was a long and painful process.

They are unprofessional, inconsiderate, brutally lovers of money, not working for customer satisfaction and more over nakedly ripping off customers . I told them and signed 0ff to cancel my insurance policy since I got a better deal but send it to credit collection.
I can canceled any time before due date
Please, don t insured with them..

I've worked with a lot of insurance agents in the past, and dealing with Safeco has been my WORST EVER. HORRIBLE Service from our assigned claims agent named Mackenzie. We had a claim on our home due to water damage, and she had people come out to give an estimate which caused additional damage. The price quoted to fix the work was incredibly low, and when we ask for her to provide a company to do the repair, she told us to Google someone. When I said we were having an issue finding a company to fix the work based on her estimate, she said she could not help us, and HUNG UP up the phone on me. There were additional comments she made and the way she is handling that were very unprofessional. Our claim is still not resolved, and we are very worried it has caused additional damage to the home as a result.

Wish you could put negative stars. I stayed with this horrible insurance company for entirely too long. I have had to battle them about putting correct and current parts on a new car I owned. They made me feel like I had to battle the person that hit me as well as my own insurance company on numerous occasions. And the best one...I called and asked how much it would cost to add another driver, and without my permission automatically added them to my policy and more than doubled my bill. Mind you, that person never drove my car! It was a simple question.

Phone calls always drop. I am pretty sure those representatives were doping the calls. Terrible customer service. Called for a quote to see how much it will be if I add my brother to our policy since I was giving him my old car temporarily, this was my old car that I replaced with new once, so it was not in the policy. Since they can't add anyone to the policy if that person doesn't live in the same residence as I do, I asked to assume that he will leave with us for "the purposes of getting a quote". They gave me the quote, I did not like the price, so I said thank you, I do not wish to proceed with this quote, therefore no change needs to be made to my policy. Then I hear a shocking response that they cannot remove my brother from the policy since he lives with me so he has to be included in the policy as a non-driver. I asked if it increases the premium, the response was yes, for over $100. I said I do not want my brother in my policy. Shortly speaking, they refused to remove him from the policy. I had to send them several proves that he doesn't live with me. It has token me over 10 phones calls and over 5 documents that I had to send so far to try remove my brother from "my" policy. So far it has taken almost 3 weeks since I am trying to resolve this. It has been insane. I mean, if I do not want anyone else in my policy, why would they force me to have someone in my policy, even if that person leaves in the same residence. It is my policy, come on. The are simply acting greedy and want to rip off some extra money. Their rules are crazy. They are made simply to rip people off. If their rules are this crazy, now you think how would they handle if I had any accident claims. Terrible.

Waited 7 hours for a tow truck. Called the SafeCo road side assistance customer service, who sent a tow truck to the wrong address, two more tow trucks were sent that could not provide correct service as I did not have the keys and couldn't put the car in neutral. Although I made my situation and needs very clear, the incopitence and lack of customer service of the representatives, my needs were never met. No idea what I'm paying for through SafeCo. Worst company I've ever delt with and wasted my entire day. Thank you SafeCo!

I'm surprised to see so many low scores for this insurance company. The people I deal with over the phone are always pleasant and helpful. I have both my auto and home policies with Safeco, and the agents have been helpful in getting the lowest rates for both. I have only had minor claims (a windshield repair, etc.) and am hopeful if I ever need them I will still get the helpful people I've dealt with before.

Absolutely horrific company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will waste character allowance to provide the exclamation points it deserves. I've had them for over 2 years now. I've made one claim for windshield repair the whole time. My premiums have skyrocketed each time. To top it off nobody is ever in my Lynnwood office when I call. It goes to voicemail each and every single time. I run a business and don't have time to play phone tag with a business I am paying a great amount to do business with. The straw that broke the camels back is I cancelled my policy about a week ago and telling them to stop payment. They still withdrew $300 out of my account after having ample time to correct this. After digging with several reps on the phone they decided to tell me that there are state mandatory fees of 8-10 percent of the whole policy (not the balance) that will be deducted for cancelling. So not only will I not get the refund I should be getting but they are stealing from me. The worst thing about this is not that I'm trying to avoid some statewide mandate. It's the lack of transparency, customer service, and fraudulent business practices. I had to do a stop payment from my bank which cost me an extra $37 to ensure my financial safety from an irresponsible company. I KNEW I should have done this when I cancelled. They never responded to my email or voice message when asking to cancel. Never sent a confirmation. Just continued to take my money with no explanation. Thank you Safeco which, by the way, is a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual being the parent company. What a rip off! I will never do business with you or any of your off-shoots.

I don't know how they are in business? I know all insurance companies are like this and want to deny everything. I had my car get hit and the guy had Safeco insurance. After claiming my accident, and making me wait for a week, today they called me and told me that their first appointment is in 9 days! That leaves me with no car and transportation for more than 2 weeks! After asking for a rental, they told me that i can pay out of my own pocket if i need one before their appointment. Seriously suck!

Safeco to this day has 1000 of complaints. They do not respect their customers. Legitimate claims are stalled and ridiculous requirements are made in order to fulfill claims. Then u are ignored. The attitude and enviorment at this place is concerning to say the least. They violate the law and their contractual agreements on a daily basis. Best advice don't do business with this company. My father is paying customer since house was built 12 yrs. Dying of desease and company basically ignored while my father being taken advantage of by drunks. Attached is a pic of CEO running this scam
