I placed a change order (because I selected the incorrect part) and the order was quickly corrected with no increase in shipping time. Ordered two parts that were delivered quickly and undamaged. I will definitely order from Rock Auto again.
So far all the parts I have ordered are fine. My complaint is the parts I just ordered are being shipped from two different places and I have to pay double shipping. I think this is wrong and should be reimbursed for one of the shipping costs...!
This company cannot be trusted. My husband ordered brakes and rotors for my car so we could travel safely to Johns Hopkins hospital for my testing. He paid $65 to have it overnighted guaranteed delivery by Friday. We received one box Saturday and one box Monday. The last box is still sitting at the warehouse. They would not refund his shipping and they sent the wrong parts. We will no longer be using or recommending this site.
Will never buy from here again after finding out they sell defective products the dealer did not pass.
Also had an awful experience in May 2018 when they sent me a core support that did not even look like the one on my vehicle. They refused to refund me the full amount and had me pay for the shipping label even though it was their mistake. I ordered one from the dealer using the same part number and the correct one arrived.
Ordered MONROE shocks. They sent me an off brand instead. NOT GOOD!
Order #45491785, I inadvertantly thought that there was something wrong with my credit card so I reentered, but on talking to customer service I was told that the second charge to my visa account would just drop off, I tried to explain that it was in my account twice and there was no way it was going to drop off without a credit on you're part, I was double dipped and that did not seem to register with the fellow in customer service. I am still looking for the credit.
I got the right part for less than half of what my local parts house quoted.

RockAuto has given me the absolute best value for my money compared to a brick and mortar parts store. They have an absolutely immense selection of parts for vehicles dating back to well before I (or probably you) were born. The availability is absolutely amazing, and much much much much more is available than any parts store, at much much much much lower prices. I don't understand how they do it, but they do, and I'm not complaining.
Charged my card 4 times for an order they said their system could not process. When I called the guy said he was a receptionist and no customer service was available for their online only company. I will fight them through my bank

If you know in advance you are going to do a repair, you can usually get parts delivered in 2 days. The prices are better than my local parts dealer and I get to pick between part quality, brand and price. Rockauto parts are cheaper than on Amazon even with shipping costs. I always go to rockauto first to get all of my automotive replacement parts.

I have order twice now from Rock Auto. I will be doing it a lot more. They beat the local parts store by $60 on a set of shocks and that includes shipping them right to my door ( they showed up 2 days earlier than promised)
I ordered stabilizer links and prior to ordering I had confirmed that NAPA sells two in the kit and RockAuto said the same and their price was cheaper. I ordered from RockAuto and upon receiving the order found that there was only one Link. Emailing RockAuto to complain, I was called back and advised that another Link would be sent out at no charge. That is a company that cares about its reputation !!!!
Have had great experience with them for years. Shipping is always quick and the cost of parts is very low. Adding part cost and shipping together, they've always been cheaper than the local stores. And, they carry major brands.
Prices are competitive however it is nearly impossible for them to issue a refund which is beyond frustrating. I am done buying parts here until I get a refund on unused parts.

Been ordering auto parts online exclusively from Rock Auto for over 10 years I find comparison shopping a waste of time since Rock Auto is consistently fast with their shipping. Sometimes a different vendor offers the same part cheaper or with "free shipping" but this is a rare instance. Typically you'll have to wait longer for this item to arrive, something I don't care to do when it involves my car.

I have been shopping with rock auto for many years and I am so disappointed with the way I have been treated. I was told "although I put in all the correct information for the vehicle, it was still my fault". Their customer service did absolutely nothing to assist me. They told me my Toyota had to be made on mexico for it to work on my car. Ridiculous!

Horrible customer service, refused to take a part back that their catalogue was wrong on. Part was new, unused in original packaging. Filed dispute with paypal and got my money back after i shipped back the part. Few months later went to place an order and they refused to ship the new order unless i pay for a part that is in their possession. Their beef is with paypal not me. Customer service reps were rude to me. First time in over 10 years of doing business with them i had a problem and they handled it poorly. First email they sent me they confirmed with their supplier that it would fit my vehicle then they changed there words after i proved that the part was different.

Ordered axles for my vehicle and the parts listed for my vehicle do NOT fit. Filed a return and requested for them to send me the correct axles, but they shipped me the wrong axles AGAIN. I even provided my VIN # so they can get it right. They do not have a customer service department over the phone and cant even report this problem online. Very frustrating. Disappointed because I have used rock auto in the past. No longer my go to for quality parts. Probably won't be seeing a refund either.

Bought a rack and pinion, it came to be defective and spent I 700 for install. Called rock auto they said I'd have to buy another one or take that one of which it worked just leaked like no other and being it was my only form of transportation I just bought another one. Well after I bought another I got deployed and didn't have it installed I came back and the car was stolen, so I called rockauto and they refused to take it back after explaining what happened. Also I requested a manager and I got refused that also!!
I ordered multiple parts for the front end of my van and also for total back brakes. All the parts came in different boxes and the brake parts never made it. I had paid extra for them and had to make a separate trip for my friend to put them in. Anyway I called RockAuto and the person I got on the phone was very rude and NOT helpful. She said that I had to enter everything on-line. I couldn't get her to understand that I still wanted the parts and the delivery person said they delivered them when in fact they didn't. I called back and spoke to someone who handled my problem wonderfully. I received my two boxes with the brake parts and then a month later I received the original brake boxes so I called got a return sticker and sent them back. Ordered a wheel bearing for my truck had fast shipping and was good price got the part put it on had it torqued at the specs the dodge dealer gave me only put 20 miles on it and the whole hub fell apart called them returned the part and now there saying it was not torqued to specs and they will not refund the money poor customer support i own a auto shop and will never order from them again.
called checker and got there part threw it on torqued it to the same 175 and used the exact same wrench and it has been great put over 3000 miles on it in a week and its still tight spend the extra 30 bucks and buy local its less hassle and trusting employees who are more then happy to help you with a return

I needed a catalytic converter for my 2005 Altima.I looked at some on Ebay and saw several different manufacturers and several different prices. I decided to go with Rockauto because I felt I could trust them and their products. I was wrong the converter that I received did fit the engine and the exhaust pipe, but it did not have a bracket to properly attach it to the engine block and the heat shield could not be mounted. The converter also had two holes for the oxygen sensor when it should have had only one. The mechanic installed it and now I am out 200 plus dollars and probably will have to replace it again. I won't trust Rockauto again.

My first order went as expected. Good price, quick delivery. Second order placed, forgot to enter discount code. The help tab says what to do, followed the instructions, didn't get empty field to place discount code after order placed. Called customer service, was told they can't add the discount after order is shipped. Not really a huge deal, but why bother giving out a discount code if you can't enter it as directed? Not really happy with them.
Ordered a headlight assembly and received a used broken part stuffed in a Rock Auto box. Finally received the replacement and that is broken as well (no damage on the box). Rock Auto wants to charge me for the return of the second part and will not let you talk to a customer service representative to resolve the issue. It is very disappointing where Rock Auto has ended up.
I have been using RockAuto for about a year now and haven't had a bad experience yet. They have better prices than other sites I had used and many brands to choose from.
While they may not carry some high dollar brands, they do have many OEM, aftermarket, and economy brands to choose from.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced!!! They sent the wrong part. I called and, they told me to return it. I paid an additional 70 dollars for return shipping. Only to have them deny the refund. Claiming the part was "greasy" and therefore used. The girl I talked to (Christine) was extremely rude. She kept saying I implied the part was used. Then. Even going as far as calling me a liar when I stated, I never said any such thing. I am now out over 400 dollars and will be filing a complaint with the BBB, as well as a paypal dispute. Never again..
Not what you expect! A Fedex International Priority shipment took 14 days to get to Germany instead of 2 days and cost more than $ 80 for 3kg.
Questions were then always smashed with the alleged customs clearance.
However, I had not experienced a customs clearance of 12 days or more in 25 years. There was no refund. Unfortunately, the packaging and the condition of the goods are usually far from optimal. Oil filters arrive without packaging, cartons usually single-wave and heavily damaged when you arrive in Germany.
Papers with the word "Invoice" or "Invoice" have never been there before!
Service and price were fine, but the Sensen struts I bought were of very poor quality and all failed, one immediately, which they replaced and eventually the others as well. These were really bad struts. Two days ago my car sounded like the trunk was full of bolts and rocks. Yesterday I replaced rear struts on my 98 Lexus ES 300 with Monroe's and car is quiet. Next week the front gets replaced. They should not be selling such an inferior part. I'm sure I'm not the only one who had this experience with Sensen.

If Google lets the my photo stay up you'll see RockAuto is a fraud is much as bbb. I never signed a waiver on not filing a claim but the label was purchased through RockAuto and they claim they didn't get all the parts told me to file a claim with FedEx and refuse to cooperate with me. so if you bought the label through RockAuto they're laughing all the way to the bank and probably took your return part 2 this is my claim RockAuto told me I had to file and they want to cooperate whatsoever in any way I never signed a waiver. Nor can I it's not my shipping account nor can you and you can't file a claim when they tell you to file a claim because their agreement is they won't so off to small claims court.
Rock Auto.Com was a great way for me to obtain the parts I needed to repair my car. I had to return one item and even that process was satisfactory. The money was replaced into my account quickly and I plan on continuing to use them whenever I need anything to do a repair or routine maintenance.
I needed a starter for my 1997 Chevy Malibu, they had the part and I ordered around 7 am one day and the part arrived at my front door by 3 pm the next day, I could not believe how quickly I got my part and it works great, excellent price and outstanding service, I highly recommend Rock Auto, very satisfied with my purchase and excellent service!
Rockauto has quality OEM and/or aftermarket parts that meet or are better than OEM that coast a fraction of what you'd pay at your local parts store ie. Autozone, Napa, O'reillys and shipping usually only takes 2-4 days. And there customer service is supurb! I ordered some tie rod ends and they tho there was nothing wrong with them they werent what i wanted, returning them was a breeze i got a full refund which i chose to take as store credit, they even paid for the return shipping. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I have used them for the first time and so far so good. As far as what Mike P said, it may be true and give them the feed back as such. I would say that if they are scoring 4.4 out of 5 in 180 surveys, they must be doing something right. I found the website to be extremely easy to navigate, not overly sophisticated so its annoying, and plain functional -- that's all I want -- and low prices. If you think Rock has a problem with shipping/confusing parts/etc -- have you been to Sears, AutoZone, AutoVantage? They charge insane prices, still have to ship a lot of parts (at least for me) in and that takes days... You can't have everything -- if you need a part ASAP go to your dealership (they often don't even have it) and pay premium. I will follow up on this review when I get the parts.
Tried to buy a part, somehow my card was declined, twice, even tho the money was in there, they even took my miney, twice, to the tune of almost $100. When I call they say they have no proof of the transaction and they can't help, even tho my bank statement says Rock auto.

I have ordered very large amount of parts through this company and will no longer be purchasing through them due to the increasing mistakes, broken/incorrect parts, and insane return costs for mistakes out of my control. Their reasonable prices have been completely ruined by their shipping costs and horrible customer service.

This company is trying to replicate Amazon. Their pricing is very low. They are obviously operating for volume. I'm in the auto repair business and have used them a few times when timing was not critical. This time however, I had a time frame to adhere to. I paid for overnight shipping. There were two other options all calling for delivery within three days with delivery dates given. This is where they differ from Amazon. Amazon actually delivers on their estimated times. Rock auto's attitude is " Oh well, if you don't want the item any longer we can issue a refund" WOW what awful customer service. When I make a promise to a customer I do absolutely everything I can to fulfill my promise. Needless to say, I will not count on Rock Auto for timely deliveries.

Ordered some headlight bulbs advertised as Phillip xenon look 4000k light color for $30 at their website, even showed a picture of the product, after 8 days I got a downgraded product that amazon sales for $19 bucks.
They don t have a customer service phone number and the only way to return the product is by filling up a form online that pretty much makes it impossible to return, on top of that you have to cover the cost for the return.
I decided to keep them and call it a day, but I still have the sensation of been robbed.
Just keep this on mind if you decide to order something from them.
