Breathtaking views, spacious rooms, and first class service. The atmosphere here at the hotel was wonderful, down to the little things like the Christmas gingerbread hotel in the lobby. It was nice that the hotel location was really close to the hot springs. And we thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular breakfast buffet at the hotel's Primrose restaurant.

The location of this is amazing. Close to the Banff gondola and hot springs. Easy to commute to downtown Banff and the room key serves as a ticket to get onto the public bus (which stops directly in front of the hotel). Check in was easy and quick. The room was beautiful, with upgraded decor. Everyone was polite and valet was quick. Would definitely return!

Love the hotel, all the staff are awesome! The breakfast buffet could be cheaper but all the food is nice. The pool is wonderful to go in no matter the age, and the whirlpool/hot tub was AWESOME. I would definitely recommend going here if you go to Banff.

Dinner at Eden was amazing. Have the steak. Stayed in an "obstructed view" room. The only obstruction was the snow covered trees, and it just added to the setting. The only complaint I have is that my girlfriend ended up being sick on our second day there, and I ordered her some broth from room service, and they brought soup...which wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Take from that what you will. I will definitely stay there again.

A grand hotel with amazingly beautiful views. The staff, especially the doormen and concierge, were very accommodating and helpful. They provide umbrellas and a bus pass so it's easy to get to downtown Banff even when it's raining. We only ate in the restaurant next to the lobby but it doesn't matter if you're having dinner or just enjoying some tea in the afternoon, the waitstaff is top notch. There are two wings, so if you're on the third floor in one wing and the pool is on the third floor of the other, you have to walk all the way through the main lobby to the elevators in the next wing. If being close to the pool/gym is important to you, it's just something to keep in mind. There are no microwaves in the rooms but there's a small cafe/store with sandwiches and coffee and snacks/ice cream. Really lovely place overall.

Very disappointed! Booked a weekend with a great price online via a different website. I called to confirm reservations and lady from Rimrock told me she could get me a better deal and to cancel with my precious deal and book with the Rimrock customer service. - CANCELLED my online deal (last room).. i got to the hotel and was told I had to pay a way more expensive rate than quoted on my booking. Manager wasn t on duty and refused to call me back as I left multiple messages! There are so many beautiful hotels to experience and this tasteless behaviour is a place that will no longer receive my money nor my family and friends! (Also asked them to listen to the recording that they take of every call and listen to the first rate I was told - they won t acknowledge the recorded conversation)

Such a beautiful hotel. Was nicely decorated for the holidays. The staff is very friendly and the doormen is a nice touch. The restaurant food is a bit pricey, but it's good quality and good service. The rooms are spacious and the views are to die for. If (When) I come back to Banff, I'll definitely stay here. I like that it's close enough yet far enough away from downtown. And the hotel gives you free passes for public transportation to get you downtown. Highly recommend. Did I mention the views?!

From service, ambience, comfort, food, drinks, to scenery; Rimrock, rocks.
Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and nothing beats the view you wake up to no matter which room you are in. They offer guests complimentary bus vouchers to ride the ROAM bus to-from downtown Banff and are detail-oriented in helping you.
Have stayed at Rimrock several times (leisure and business trips) and every stay has been pleasant.

I'd like to commend Concierge, Jacob, for his phenomenal service. Jacob went above and beyond to arrange transportation for me (drove me to the bus depot in Banff) when there is was a miscommunication with the airport bus company regarding pick up times.

Highly recommend the Rimrock.

Stayed on the 8th floor as an overnight guest. The room was decent and clean. However the thermostat didn't seem to go up any higher. I thought the room was cold but turned up the heat to 25 degrees and it did not get any warmer. It was still manageable but I would've preferred it to be a bit warmer as the balcony sucked a lot of the heat out. In addition, the pillows were a bit too high for my petite figure. All the pillows were the same size so I didn't get a good sleep. Although they were decent quality, was just a bit high for me that I'd get neck kinks. Overall, a pleasant stay in the hotel.

The Rimrock Hotel is a beautiful hotel with helpful staff, gorgeous scenery and delicious food. The elevators on the other hand are a bit unresponsive and make getting around the hotel a bit more difficult. Otherwise it was a great visit.

The hotel is situated mere meters from the famous Banff hot springs, which is already a selling point on it's own. The hotel offers a range of services and great facilities. It is a classic North American ski resort style hotel with a lot of history. Pubs, restaurants, gym, pool, spas and guest parking are all present and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. However the services and stay aren't on the cheap side, so pack some cash when booking at the Rimrock.

Service was exceptional, the welcome and check in was friendly and efficient, then when I arrived in my room I had a call asking if everything was to my satisfaction. All of the staff as I walked through the hotel greeted me with a smile and a hello every day. The food was consistently of a high standard and wait staff always helpful. The room was spacious, well presented, had very adequate storage, and was comfortable. The pillows were all similar and a better choice would have been appreciated. The hot water was consistent. The meeting rooms were well serviced, supported and equipped. I liked the coffee in the hotel coffee shop. Of course the views are beyond spectacular from surrounds, restaurant and rooms. It was a short walk to the gondola that goes to the top of sulphur mountain and nearby hot springs. The views from the top are well worth the visit. A free bus service (show room key) left every 20 minutes from early to late for the return trip into Banff. The trip was only a few minutes. I would highly recommend the Rimrock Hotel from every aspect.

I've always loved staying at the rimrock hotel but my brother in law was holding his wedding there and tbh the costs were outrageous. I understand that the rimrock is a very posh hotel and maybe I'm just not their type of clientele but I felt the things they refused to refund like if you have an outdoor wedding planned and you are forced indoors for the wedding they do not refund the extra $2000, even though they are reserving the same spaces either way. Or ridiculous charges like $10 per person to have cake cut for you and set on a table. Also the fact that they offered nearly no discount on rooms was another very disappointing situation that led to much difficulty. The valet charged in full but every time we called down to have our car pulled around we had to remind them to get our car and wait another 15 minutes! Unfortunately was a rather disappointing experience making a wedding stressful instead of enjoyable.

Marie and I stay in 150 hotel rooms per year. We've stay at the best locations throughout North America. Rim Rock is one of my top 5. The service right across the broad is excellent. From the check in staff, to bell service, to valet, concierge and the coffee shop each and every interaction we had was authentic, helpful and friendly. It felt like you were in a special place.

The room was super clean, bed heavenly soft, view was extraordinary and the housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating. Even the coffee in the room was above average.

The location was excellent, with the Gondola walking distance and the Upper Hot Springs right across the street.

Rim Rock may seem a bit expensive but value is in all the little extras that come with a premium hotel, an excellent location and a team of well trained first class staff. Cant wait to come back and spend more time here.

Here for 2 nights. Sheets are rough and pillows too big. Lovely staff everywhere. Sat down into he divas lounge, waited 10 mins for service and received none so we left. Got room service instead. Food was great, just a little pricey. Buffet was fantastic and the server there was very sweet. Pool was nice as well. Very clean overall.

This is my second stay at this hotel and both time...

This is my second stay at this hotel and both time my experience has been Meh. They try to represent themselves as a higher class place, but their service is subpar. Our check in experience was good, but a few other interactions with the staff was awkward, like painfully awkward. It's very rare for my wife and I to feel awkward with people but it happened with no less than 3 of their staff members.

Our meal the night we arrived was okay at best and the event itself was painfully slow. Our server was one of these awkward people I mentioned. Not to mention we stood by the sign that said please wait to be seated and it took about 5 minutes to be acknowledged by someone with at least 3 or 4 members of the restaurant staff walking past us. This was at approximately 8:30pm not exactly peak hours

Breakfast the next morning we experience the same wait to be acknowledged, once we were sat, no server approached us for over 10 minutes, no exaggeration. Finally I got the attention of another server and told him no one has spoken with us since we were sat. He graciously took over the table and told us our server must have been busy, he was an excellent server. The food was, again, okay at best (not buffet). The lady who was supposed to be our server came over at some point in the meal and started asking us random questions about our stay and where we were from, it was so awkward, even our new server noticed and came over to apologize, we had a laugh about it and moved on.

All in all, the room was nice, clean and with a great view (we had a premium room). It's a decent hotel, but don't expect 5 star service here. I would probably stay again, just know what to expect.

I enjoy this hotel, especially at Christmas. I find the rooms nicer than the Banff Springs and often times slightly more competitive. Staff is friendly and the amenities are lovely. It is not in the thick of the town area, which has its pros and cons. This is my preferred hotel when staying in Banff, although I much prefer staying on the mountain when the focus is skiing. I suggest the Rimrock to many.

We stayed at the RimRock last weekend for a nice weekend getaway. Front end staff was very polite and helpful. The parking lot was full so we had to park a little farther away which was not perfect but ok. They were going to charge us $25 for parking but waived it when we complained.

Beautiful hotel! We stayed in a corner Premium room and the view from the room was breathtaking. The bed was comfortable, the staff was amazing. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and really enjoy the mountains and relax. Every window has amazing view of the mountains plus it's walking distance to the Gondolas and Hot Springs. Must try: a drink called the Marilyn Monroe.

Really good facilities and friendly staff. A little bit on the pricey side but worth it. 5 mi it's walk from the Banff gondola and offers a free bus service to get you around the park. Good views over the mountains.

Our stay at the Rimrock was fantastic. It'll cost you a bit more, but the rooms are great, great views and the primrose restaurant is fantastic. In addition it is a short walk from the hot springs as well as the gondola ride. Highly recommend it.

It was just a one night stay with my wife. The view was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable, except for the pillows. The TV channels were sparse and standard Wi-Fi was horrendously slow (maybe their premium internet is faster?). The staff, however were all very nice and cordial. The pool was nice and the hot tub was large. We didn't have time to indulge in the other activities there, so I can't comment on those.

This review is in regards to hosting an event at Rimrock. We held a 250+ guest wedding reception at the Rimrock last year, and I must say that our experience overall was very disappointing. For the price that you pay at this venue you expect the very best in every regard, and we most certainly did not receive that. The hotel itself, nestled in the perfect setting along a mountain is stunning; but beware of the food. We had two tastings to ensure that our meal choices for our special day would be perfect. Both times the steak was superb, well cooked, tender, juicy and well seasoned. We expected the same for our guests on the day; but we were in for a horrific surprise....

Post wedding we continually heard "The wedding was incredible, but the food could have been better." Imagine the feelings that my wife had, spending countless hours planning our dream weekend, only to have one of the most important parts go sour; the food. We truly thought that Rimrock would be worth every penny and we wouldn't have to worry.

Shortly after the wedding we contacted management and demanded an explanation. They simply said that catering to that number of people makes it difficult, and that half the people still ate their steak so clearly "it wasn't that bad." They went on to offer us a mediocre compensation that did not even cover a third of the price of the steak...and on top of that refused to reduce the gratuity charge! Gratuity is paid when service is exceptional, and this was anything but. A quote from an email from Trevor Long the General Manager: "Karim I was very clear in our phone conversation that this was the final amount that I will offer, it is very fair compensation. No further compensation will be provided." Talk about customer service.

Overall, the hotel is stunning, and most of the staff are very welcoming. We debated for a long time between Rimrock, Fairmont Lake Louise and Fairmont Banff Springs and we chose the Rimrock because of the quality of the food we had at the restaurant. We were sadly disappointed at the level of food service for our wedding, and with the management's approach to customer service. Our advice is to go elsewhere for any wedding or conference related events.

Upon pulling up to the entrance of the hotel, after a short drive up the hill from downtown Banff, I was greeted by the friendly (-and very fancily dressed-) valet, who was immediately very helpful with my various questions - This enthusiastic welcome was mirrored by the check-in staff at the front desk; I was impressed by the rustic -and yet, lush- look of the foyer, which offered a very inviting seating area and restaurant overlooking the wonderfully scenic view (complete with balcony seating, as I discovered the following morning); My hotel room was a very comfortable size (-especially as it was just myself, staying the night), with all of the amenities one would expect; I was once again quite taken by the view from the room, which overlooked an unexpectedly deep ravine, with the hotel surprisingly spanning many stories downward- a design which I hadn't really considered, until recalling the somewhat lower-than-expected height of the hotel, at first sight; I was only briefly working at the hotel for one night, and I wasn't in a position to stay very long the next morning (-though, I did feel the need to take advantage of the extended checkout option, as the bed was just way too comfortable, to not do so...); I would definitely recommend the Rimrock for a "spoil-yourselves" getaway, and I hope to return soon.

This is a hotel that's a little bit farther off into the mountains. I like this place as it is more modern than other hotels that are of the same caliber in the area. The scenes are beautiful, and the hotel itself is classy. There is ample covered parking that's not too expensive. You will probably park your car there most of the time as there is a dedicated shuttle that goes in to town. Note that there could be congestion be getting in and out of the mountain and into the town center.

Gorgeous hotel! Great service and staff. Everyone was friendly and every staff member stopped to say hi. The only issue I found was the lack of plugs in the room. I was on the 8th floor and had no plug at my desk or anywhere convenient to plug in the iron. The room had an amazing view though, I could see the town of Banff and the mountains, and it's a close walk to Sulphur Mountain.

The hotel is ok... but pretty dated. I would never consider this a high end hotel- it's in a beautiful place in Banff but the actual hotel is old, has foggy windows and our bathroom shower looks like it's from 1970. A holiday inn in a random metropolis is better appointed. I guess they expect the mountain views to do the heavy lifting.
