Rimrock Resort Banff Review

We had a great stay for our 10 year anniversary. Really great hotel, made us feel special. Great practices in place for Covid. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel great design and look. Very expensive to park at if just coming in for drinks or dinner.

I was very disappointed with the food at the lark spur. Ordered a burguer and the patty was really dry, not seasoned and small and the lettuce was old. My friend ordered a brisket sandwich and the meat was super dried. On another note, the valet guys were super cool.

Spend the money . The views here are part of your holiday.
Sit in the lounge enjoy dinner and the view.

A beautiful luxury hotel with very high prices. However, it's worth to go and see the shopping area at the ground floor.

Clean room. But it took till after 1800 to check in. Thee room wasn't ready... The front desk lady was adamant on informing is 'the late check in wasn't her fault' which we strongly agreed with. So it was nice to agree on that. Beautiful view. Little out of the way.

Excellent hotel. Very accommodating with our room requests. The only complaint is the process to access the Tesla chargers is a bit convoluted. Got sent from person to person, but worked out in the end. They can be accessed with self park option if you ask.

Unbelievable experience. Taken care of everything step of the way. Amazing food and service was exemplary. Service went beyond the restaurant taking us right to our front door at the end of the evening. I would highly recommend an evening at Eden to all. It made our birthday experience unforgettable.

A beautiful hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in Alberta. We enjoyed our stay and made use of the Larkspur Lounge, the Primrose dining room, and the pool and fitness room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is more space in the parking garage. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas while we were there, and it made our stay even more enjoyable.

My first stay at the Rimrock. Loved it. Very mellow. Great service. Decent prices compared to the Banff Springs.

Only complaint i have is when we first arrived agent was a little cold and robotic but all other staff were amazing.

Good evening entertainment in the larkspur bar. Great customer service throughout. Lovely little coffee shop. General feeling of luxury throughout. However this was reflected in the price

The view from our room was incredible, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the dinner at Eden was one of the best meals I've ever had. Absolutely wonderful hotel.

Superior service. All the staff from the check in desk to the valets to the room cleaners were exceptionally friendly. Everyone was engaged, smiling and greeting you. The food at the Primrose restaurant was amazing. Wednesday is a pasta bar. If you are in Banff on a Wednesday definitely drop in to check it out. The chefs were friendly and engaged in delightful banter as they prepared your dish. Overall an outstanding experience.

Beautiful hotel with even more beautiful views. Close to the main part of banff and the ski resorts. The hotel has a multitude of indoor activities such as a gym, squash court, pool, and restaurant. Staff was nice and the rooms were very clean. If you don't want to spend your day inside then you can take a short trip to the main part of banff.

It was lovely!! A relaxing environment, good food, great service. What's not to love?!

Awesome stay and service. Get a room with a view! Service staff were excellent, price a tad steep, but you do get what you pay for. If you stay, make sure you hit the steam saunas in the spa change rooms!

Great spot, awesome bus service to downtown. The only complaint was that housekeeping didn't restock the towels or the lotion/shampoo. But that was minor.

Excellent service, beautiful views from room and great cocktails at on-site lounge Divas. An outdoor hot tub would be an appreciated addition.

This hotel was disappointing. For the price of a room, I expect much more.

The biggest offense was the housekeeping. It was disgraceful - the first room we were assigned actually had garbage left on the dresser and hadn't been dusted. We switched to another room, and the sink clearly hadn't been cleaned but everything else was tolerable so we stayed. Again, hadn't been dusted.

Further, the interior was severely rundown. I would expect a hotel of this caliber to constantly update its interior and furnishings. It's hard to look clean and fresh when the bathroom is so old that the grout is discoloring.

The only positives of this place is it's location which is probably why you're looking at it. It's a convenient walk to the hot springs and gondola which have small and crowded parking lots. But if you can navigate the public bus, I highly recommend you do that and stay elsewhere.

Wonderful everything! We held our corporate retreat and planning with the Rimrock through to execution was perfect.

Stayed here for 5 days & had the most amazing time. There is an indoor pool, sauna, hottub & spa but my favorite was the ice rink. The spa rents out skates & there are also fire pits & chairs by the rink. The Primrose Restaurant has really great food & a wonderful breakfast buffet. There are 2 or 3 lounges: Diva's is more late nite where the main lounge as you enter hotel has food & amazing drinks with a spectacular view as well as a fireplace. The rooms were wonderful & when we requested a humidifier it was brought up in less than 5 min.the entire hotel staff was phenomenal! Loved every minute of our stay! The Banff Upper Hot Springs are right across the road however it is a longer walk of about 7 minutes up the hill. The Gondola is also within walking distance & if needed the bus also goes by there. The stops every 40 min (?) To pick up or drop off with a sign showing the time of arrival. Can't go wrong staying here!

This is the definition of a 5 star hotel. The rooms are amazing, the views are worth every penny spent to stay here. The staff are very accommodating, and the pool area is fantastic! We will be coming back here for sure!

Excellent hotel. We stayed on the top floor with extra high ceilings. Nice amenities, great location.

Horrible customer service. The room we ordered for our wedding night was not as it was described on the website. When I complained to the hotel manager, I got no apology. They offered to upgrade our room for "only" $250. I said that was unacceptable. The only other thing they offered was free parking. What the hell, parking wasn't included in the overpriced room already? This place is garbage and completely ignorant when it comes to customer service.

Got an upgraded room..not sure which one but it had awesome views of the mountains. Make sure to make dinner reservations and book a window seat.

I really enjoyed staying at the Rimrock and enjoying the wonderful views of Banff! I highly recommend taking the bus out to Lake Louise to see it, if you can. Very helpful concierge and AMAZING views! Thank you to everyone at the Rimrock who made my stay so wonderful!

So far my Rimrock experience booking our 3 night, 55 person conference has been great! I'm really excited to see the reaction of our out of town guests who have never been to Banff!! Of course it goes without saying that the rooms and food is really expensive but that shouldn't surprise anyone as it's a 5star resort. The service I assume will be 5 stars... It better be! That being said I must add that our group discount for the rooms is actually pretty dam good. And they let us extend the group rates to our group to book on their own dime before or after our trip so I thought that was great of them.

Had lunch here and it was decent food and good value (especially in light of it being a 5 star hotel). Friendly door men.
A bit of a way from town but would consider staying here now I know they don't rob you with food prices.

Loved it! Out of our price range, but we treated ourselves. Excellent service by staff. Great interior spaces! Fantastic views. Walking distance to mountain gondola ride and hot spring. Outside of town, tho.

Came to check out view and Christmas decorations and stayed for lunch. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were excellent. The view of Rundle is unmatched. Rimrock is a fabulous hotel.

Nice views but old hotel. Had a number of plumbing issues. Food is expensive and mediocre.

The rooms were cozy and the views are phenomenal. The food in the lounge was very average and extremely expensive. The food in town is much, much better. The staff for the most part were very friendly, but again, the staff in the lounge left something to be desired.

All staff are very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Getting a room with a view is definitely something you should consider if you are staying here. Breakfast buffet is great, and food via room service is also very good. Pet friendly rooms are available (even with a view) with pet bed and dishes supplied. Cribs and such for babies are available for those traveling with children. Spa services, pool, and gym (considerably larger than most hotels). This hotel is very close to the hot springs, and a few biking trails (although, it is still the national park, so depending on time of year, some trails could be closed due to bears).

Overall very nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms.
The larkspar lounge is nice, great views and warm fireplace. Food however is over priced for what it is. For example I had the burger. It's was $20, and was a frozen patty style burger.
The consierce will store your skis. Heated underground parking.
Large indoor pool, hot tub, fitness facility and spa.
Walking distance to the Sulfer mountain hotspings and Banff Gondola.

Our stay at the Rimrock has been truely excellent. It will be the standard for me as far as how I will rate my experience at other hotels. The staff has been nothing but kind and helpful, the food we enjoyed at the Larkspur Restaurant was delicious, the amenities are vast and very up to par. My only criticism would be that a few aspects of our room were slightly dated, but this is a small complaint and they simply meld into the well aged ambiance of the building. Thank you for the great experience

Second time being there and it's the best place I've ever stayed! They upgraded us for nothing because they weren't busy the days we stayed this time. We didn't have a microwave on the room but they brought us one in less than 5 minutes of calling the desk. The spa and gym area is awesome! The breakfast buffet is delicious and it includes yogurt smoothies that are to die for.

The hearing system was controlled centrally so it was too hot in the room and we couldn't manage the temperature from our side. Also it's far away from downtown and if you don't have a car, you have to wait 40 minutes for each bus to arrive. The bus pass was complimentary but inconvenient.

I loved my stay in this hotel. Lovely location, great and tasty food and very lovely associates.

Room 522. Pillows were rock hard. Sheets were rough. Tried to go for drinks at Divas and waited around for 10 minutes while the staff stared at us. Never ended up getting served so went back to the room and ordered room service. Room service took longer than expected, and they ended up changing it to another room. When I brought this up while checking out, they made me wait around for 15 minutes while they tried to figure it out. Overall meh experience.

We had a comfortable stay summer 2019.... very conveniently located near Banff hot springs..you can easily walk to the hot springs....will recommend this...they even gave free 2 day bus pass to go around the town

Great view from the hotel. Really stunning if you've never seen it before. Staff is friendly but the place always feels a bit too busy but as long as you have some patience it's fine. Everything is so nice here I would say I prefer it to the Fairmont. Much better location if you love the hot springs as well.

.kitchen staff and front staff are definately top drawer! Ensured we had a ride back to our resort even physically ensured we were in their courtesy cab themselves...I give this a 10 star rating.

This hotel is deceptive - a fairly ordinary exterior belies a mini Fairmont inside! lovely pool, hot tub and spa, little shops inside and the same mountain view as the Fairmont with less tourists!

The hot tub, sauna, pool, squash court was all closed down for renovations for my whole stay

This is one expensive hotel. Too expensive to then change for parking, while simultaneously not having enough of it. Service was slow, and the facilities were only ok. I've stayed in better for a lot less. Room was moderate, but a little shabby and dated. Don't think I'll be back

Had an excellent time here. This is a beautiful hotel located in the mountains overlooking Banff - definitely splurge for a room with a mountain view, as it's well worth it.

The staff here were incredibly cordial and polite - they really went out of their way to provide exceptional service, so kudos to all of them.

I was a big fan of the facilities - the hotel room was tastefully decorated and plenty roomy. There is a pool and hot tub area that features a sauna, as well as a very well-equipped fitness centre; very rarely do I come across a hotel gym with a squat rack.

To add to everything, this hotel is a quick walk away from the lovely Banff Upper Hot Springs, the famous Gondola, and the Sulphur Mountain hike! All in all an amazing location that i would happily stay at again.

Amazing, ate on the patio. Had amazing drinks and some really tasty food. I had the fish and chips which was nice but the ahi tuna crisps my partner ordered were amazing! Love the rimrock, were locals and enjoy the staff and views every time we come in.

Stayed here for the 2019 Cerner Canada Collaboration Forum. The rooms and view were to notch, and the food and drink were so good.

Wow!!! We were very lucky to be able to get into the top floors, and the view was so spectacular. I would have been happy, staying back in my room!

Really nice Hotel, the upper restaurant is immensely expensive and overall it feels like they charge for everything they can since the bulk of their customer-base are conferences and the like. That being said wifi was free and they watched our dog while we went for lunch for free, so it's still affordable staying there.

The pool and sauna are really nice and the views are gorgeous.
