We had a decent stay at Rimrock. However the hotel is outdated and could use a reno. even small changes they could easily make would help justify the price they charge for these rooms. Our room felt very tired, not enough lights, old tub and shower curtain, rough overused towels..for $230/night we expected more. Only had 1 restaurant was open and the food was good but expensive for what it was. Overall a fine stay but I think more effort could be put in.

We try to stay at this long time favorite hotel at least once a year. Our trip last month was awesome. We also had an upgraded room and breakfast package.

The view was amazing and the breakfast buffet was tasty and extensive. Thank goodness it was included as the breakfast was very expensive otherwise.

The renovations in the pool area was a nice change.

If you can afford it its well worth the stay, self parking and valet parking for a price. 3 restaurants 2 require reservation call in and the lukspur lounge had decent food and a pretty good drink menu. Rooms were big and clean with fridge and coffee. Across the street from the hot springs which is great. Staff was great.

The staff was friendly, and the rooms looked really good and were super clean as well as the bathrooms. The mountain view from the window was wonderful! Breakfast was delicious but it cost a lot, make sure you re aware of the price! Definitely would stay there again!

We visited Eden Restaurant for a 4 course tasting menu. Both my boyfriend and I paired each course with wine selected by a sommelier (premium for him and classic for me). Pairings were impeccable and food delicious. We were greeted by an amazing host in the very beginning and our server and sommelier were amazing. We highly recommend !

Never have we been to a more accommodating hotel with some of the best views across the Bow Valley, absolutely blown away by this place. Food is excellent and staff are the friendliest bunch of people. Superb place.

Had a food tasting at the Rimrock this past weekend. We're having a plated dinner for our wedding rehearsal dinner and wanted to try the dishes we were considering. Compliments to the chef! The presentation of the Caesar Salad surprised us, but we loved everything that we tried includong the salad. They certainly know what they're doing when it comes to food.

We spent 3 nights here as part of our elopement road trip. This hotel was amazing and made our special week that much more special! We arrived to chocolate covered strawberries and a congratulations card in our room which was so sweet! The restaurants were yummy, breakfast buffet has a good variety, room was clean and super comfy, the views are amazing, the staff were friendly. Special shout out to the porters and the Bell Desk team who went over and above to make our stay smooth. Great job!

Oh yes, now that's what I call a hotel! Guess the setting enhances your opinion. We arrived one evening in June and it reminded us inside of a Scottish grand house.....must be be fantastic to look out on snow with a fire roaring in the lounge. The view over breakfast in the Primrose restaurant is not to be missed. Staff very attentive, polite and smartly dressed. Food good. Maybe the bedroom on level 3 was a little dark cos of all the trees.

My wife and I stayed at this location for three nights. We booked a room with a view of the mountains and valley; it is such a spectacular view that I would recommend this type of room to anyone. The bed was unbelievably soft and was a perfect place to crash after a day of hiking. Room overall is quite clean and well laid out. Also close proximity to the Banff Gondola and the upper hot springs (both highly recommended experiences). If I ever came back to Banff, I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is great. Both the hot springs and the gondola are within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet is amazing, and the view we had from our room was spectacular. Unfortunately one night the boiler failed so we woke up to no hot water, so that was unfortunate. We also had next door neighbors who were screaming at each other, but hotel security handled it promptly and professionally. Would definitely go back.

Stay was good but it was a terrible experience with the management. We stayed in hotel on Saturday June 20. After 3-4 days, we received invoice of about 1300 dollars that we broke the television and got charge on card on file. When we talked with the management, they said that don t have any witness but they charged us only on the basis of trust of their housekeeper. This kind of experience was not expected from this hotel.

A great hotel that looks like its perched on side of a mountain, reminds me of the hotel in The Shining. A nice vantage point up from the main town of Banff, it's very convenient for the Banff Gondala ride and the higher hot springs pool. Great views across of thd main range, you can watch the sun come up over the mountains. Use your hotel card key for free bus rides into and back from town, which is about 3km down thd steep road. In summer a wonderful place that I'm sure would look magically in the snow of winter

was my first time staying here and this hotel and the room #700 specifically exceeded all my expectations!! The best view ever, excellent service. We feel so special celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary at this place. The Management went above and beyond and as a result we had the best celebration ever. Thank you and we will be back one day!! Tim and Maria

Aside from the fact that the hotel has a gorgeous and timeless elegance, I have been blown away by the staff. So much care has been shown and they have gone above and beyond to make our time here memorable. Our room has an amazing view and it has been an absolute pleasure to stay here.

Very nice stay. The hotel is really pretty inside and the views are beautiful. Check in was ok. The key didn t work to my room 3 times and I kept having to walk back and forth dragging my suitcase. Eventually a staff member came with me and realized it was broken so they let me in then I had to wait for security to come reset the lock. Minor inconvenience for sure but i thought maybe while I wait a drink or snack or something but nothing was offered. The room itself was older but decent size and clean with a nice view of the mountains. The hotel is a good bit outside of town which makes it quiet but it s not super walkable (probably about 45 mins one way). They give you a free bus pass which is great and easy to use. The WiFi is free and fast. While I liked my stay here I would probably check out another hotel should I be back in Banff.

For the price of this hotel (me and my boyfriend stayed for $493 for one night, and this price included a discount for having an AMA/CAA membership) it is so not even close to being worth it. It is amazing that someone can spend that much money to stay somewhere, and not even receive a complimentary breakfast included in this price. Yes, the location is beautiful, but there is nothing special about the hotel itself, and in the room we had, there was no view, the trees were right at our window and covered any view or sunlight. I've stayed at hotels for more than half of the price, in just as amazing of a location (perfect view of Niagara Falls) and the rooms were way nicer and even included a Jacuzzi tub and breakfast. There was blood on our bed sheets, the housekeeper had to come and change the sheets, and we were missing our two bathrobes to wear down to the spa and pool - both were replaced, and we were given no sorts of apology from the hotel. We did not eat at any of the restaurants inside of the hotel, as every menu we glimpsed at was so overpriced based on the price we already paid just for the room. Luckily, it was my birthday weekend, and the price was the least of our worries. Had a great time, which made up for the hotel, however , I would never stay here again unless it was my last option. Hotel overall wasn't bad or unclean, but for the price, and what is included, it is not worth it.

Property : beautiful - breathtaking views and friendly people. Couldn t ask for a nicer place to stay
Service : this is where it gets bad. We are not picky - had a three day reservation , driving from Vancouver. Our first night we were delayed because of a broken car window during the drive , and had to stay in a small town on the drive. We called the hotel to ask them to reduce to two nights , and they said no problem but their reservations department would have to make the adjustment , to call back in the morning. When we called back the next morning (the day we were due to arrive) they said they couldn t honour that anymore , and would be charging us for three nights

The last day of our stay , we asked for a late checkout. They told us that there was someone due to take the room , but for $120 we could be accommodated for a late checkout. I asked that since we were initially charged , contrary to their over the phone commitment , for a night we weren t even here - if they could waive the fee (our departing flight was delayed ) , and they said they couldn t.
The icing on the cake for me was that we ordered room service the first night we were here. The food came 1.5 hours late , because they initially delivered it to the wrong room. I was surprised (maybe I shouldn t have been ) to see that I had been subsequently charged in full for that meal.

No concerns about following policy , but some compassion and flat out politeness from a hotel seems to be too much to ask. The rim rock is a beautiful property with a terrible culture and we definitely won t be back. Looking to share this experience with people who are coming to Banff to experience something other than $$ grabbing hotel staff.

Thanks

Had dinner at the Primrose for our 25th wedding anniversary. When making the reservation I asked for table with a window view. To our surprise they had champagne waiting with a beautiful window view! The meal was amazing and desert arrived with a happy anniversary written in chocolate. Exceptional service and attention to detail, very impressed!

Nice quality room and upscale atmosphere. Parking is lacking, and it always strikes me odd when I have to pay for things like breakfast wifi or parking when this is a standard service at much cheaper hotels

I recently was at the Rimrock spa and the larkspur lounge for lunch in May and very much enjoyed myself. I was so excited to bring my family there last last Friday June 9th for lunch since I have been raving about it since I was there last time. There was 5 of us and after being seated we waited quite awhile to receive our menus but no big deal we were in no rush. Our waitress finally took our order and we we starving since we were out all morning showing my family around. We had ordered Nachos for an appetizer to hold us over until our food arrived. Well our waitress never came back to let us know what was taking so long with our food and then about 30 mins later we finally received our food with the Nachos which at that point we didn't even want since our food was there and also the Nachos had looked like they were sitting underneath the heat lamp for a long time. Our food was dropped off and and we were left with no sign of our waitress to see if we wanted more water or if everything was ok. Our salads we ordered had no dressing on them which left them to be very bland and I raved about the salad since I enjoyed it so much last time. Our sandwiches were great but my husbands sandwich looked dry and we realized they forgot to the lemon aoli on the Salmon BLT. After waiting 10 mins we were able to flag down a lady who happened to be cleaning around us and told her that we were missing the sauce for the sandwich. She quickly went and talked to someone and another man brought out the dressing for us but that took about 5mins, by this time my husbands sandwich was cold. At this point we were all not impressed at all by the service and the quality of the food that we received. I was embarrassed to have brought my family here and that I talked so highly of this place and then to be so disappointed from the service to the food. This was such a bad experience that I will not be coming back or recommending this place again.

The staff was amazing, the hotel was beautiful and was in a more private area in Banff but still close to everything. Terry was our bartender and he was outstanding, very personable and funny and made great drinks. Richard was very helpful to set up excursions for us and very knowledgeable. We will definitely stay here again.

Staff: Staff were super helpful, always pleasant and accommodating.
Location and Hotel: The main lobby and dining areas were beautiful. The views were stunning for everywhere in the hotel
Room: I was told I booked the best room available, the Grandview Classic, paid $1000 for 2 nights. It's not a terrible room but it feels like I'm staying in my grandmother's log cabin. Definitely not my astetic, again not the hotels fault but the website pictures are not indicative of the decor. The fake hardwood floor is freezing, and the bathroom is the size of a closet. Just a shower, and the door almost hits the toilet when it opens. The floor under the bed is in long need of a vacuum. I'll do it myself if I had a broom.
Food: Went to the Divas lounge for dinner, it took forever for my meal, and they over cooked my steak twice. At least they took it off the bill.
Breakfast was amazing. Loves the buffet and Avacado toast.
Atmosphere: If your stay for a romantic weekend you should avoid this place on the weekend. The amount of kids made it feel like a daycare center. It's not the fault of the hotel, just too many people bring their kids everywhere.
Overall: I've paid much less to stay somewhere much nicer.

The heat in our room took forever to heat up. After the maintenance men came they said our room was 18.5 and that they would give us a little heater. After complaining again that they gave us a little heater they were willing to move us rooms after freezing for a few hours. Paying $639 for 2 nights and having to use little space heaters in our room is ridiculous.
Also, the jets in the bathtub didn't work.
The lady I checked in with was not very friendly and pleasant to deal with.
They were out of parking so we had to use valet parking which was also a pain.
I have stayed with lots of different hotels in Banff and the experiences were much better. I won't be returning.
I thought booking with the Rimrock they would have had better customer service.....

We were visiting Banff for a couple nights and chose to stay at the Rimrock Resort. We stayed in room 903 for the views. The room itself was a good size with a king size bed and good size terrace. The room itself was a bit stuck in time and could use an update or renovation. We also had dinner at the Eden restaurant which I would also rate a 4/5 due to the service which was friendly but one server talked about himself a lot which took away from the experience.

I was attending an event with my spouse. Otherwise I don't think I could afford it. The various restaurants and bars are fantastic and half the hotel is built into a cliff side so the views from the rooms are amazing. I don't know how much it cost to stay there but I'm sure it's worth it.

Very nice hotel with a million dollar view. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful.

We got the king suite for 1 night. The thing that stood out of course was the view. The linens were also very nice. We had to request bath robes, covid rules, and those were quite luxurious!

We didn t spend much time in our room and the only reason why it is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the room was not worth $500/night. It was pretty much a basic hotel room with a view. I feel $250-$300/night would have been a fare rate for it. I am not sure I would return unless there was a deal or better rate.

Lovely location for sure, family of 4 we stayed there for a couple of nights over the holidays however unsatisfied with the overall experience. Cancelled skiing on a Sunday in order for the kids to enjoy the highly advertised "play area" and when we tried to go, came to find out the hotel deceided to close the fun area for whatever reason that day... Try telling that to a couple of 7 yr old kids that saw everywhere on the hotel tv the adds for the fun area open. Complained about it to management and pretty much "tough luck" on their behalf and didn't seem to care or do anything about it. The brunch downstairs was amazing and pool for the kids is great otherwise . Dec 2018

Great hotel. The hotel is very nice, the scenery is gorgeous and the staff is friendly and provide a great experience. I found the price reasonable and the stay was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in or near Banff, Canada. They even provided a free travel bus for local transport. The food in the restaurants was good and the Concierge Service was very knowledgeable and gave us great ideas for activities while in Banff, Canada.
