Rimrock Resort Banff Review

Dinner could have been alot better, especially the service. When we dined in was not particularly busy, we were the 4th or 5th table seated, but it took almost 2 hours for dinner, wasn't looking to rush, but wasn't looking to make an evening out of it for a two course meal. About the service, Server never took a drink order, server ask if we wanted more bread and we said yes, but never brought. 3 desserts were ordered, all 3 were frozen. So in summary could have been a lot better for the price paid.

A fine hotel. Fine staff. Great location. Good base for exploring.

Easily the best hotel in Banff. Andrea at reception went out of her way to make sure that we were well taken care of after a minor reservation error. You can tell that the staff there want to be there... everyone we interacted with were professional and you could tell that they were very genuine. Free shuttle into downtown made it far enough away from the rif raf but still close enough to make sense. 12 dollar cab ride back to the hotel. Close enough to the hot springs that I could walk back without my hair freezing. Resteraunts are a bit pricey but make sense when you see what you get. Well worth the money even on a Saturday night.

My favourite hotel in Banff! Can t beat the mountain view, great food and restaurant right at the hotel. The gym, courts and pool have an amazing mountain view as well. 5 min cab ride to downtown or just stay at the hotel for the weekend and soak up the spa. Enjoy it every time!

The room was exquisite, breathtaking and had a magnificent view. Staff were very accommodating to all of our needs. The hotel featured 4 different dinning experiences and I can't wait to go back to try another one!

A beautiful place outshined by the staff. We had an issue with our first room and after it couldn't be resolved we were upgraded to a jr suite. The staff were amazing with our kids. Hard to beat the view too!

The staff was friendly and helped us out with anything we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would recommend it to anyone who asks.

It's a really nice hotel. The rooms are clean. You have the choice of views which is great but it's also at a price as well. The staff were pretty friendly. We upped the room cost for a complimentary breakfast and decided on the buffet of it and it was fairly good. The eggs Benedict I found a bit cold but the rest of the overall food was okay. I'd most likely stay here again.

Beautiful place with Wonderful staff. They have very good food and beverages too! The resort is nice and comfortable, well appointed without a snobby air. You can tell they appreciate their guests!

Great as a hotel, something...off as a wedding venue. First, there's is nowhere near enough parking, and it is not clearly marked. Wedding guests (not hotel guests as they weren't staying overnight) were confused as the parkade was labeled 'hotel guests only'. When they asked staff where to go the staff didn't know (after bragging of hosting six weddings that day). Despite being in the wedding package, the rehearsal "wasn't reserved" so we had to fight with staff to get the room opened. Morning of the wedding staff ignored the bride's seating plans and upon her correcting them they simply said "but everyone else does it this way" and didn't change until the florist arrived and took control from them.
Actual service staff-the bartenders, DJ, dinner servers, were all spectacular. As well as those in the Primrose and lounges we patronized for the weekend. Bell staff was wonderful, and concierge helpful whenever we needed them. And of course you can't beat the views.

Stayed here for a conference, very positive experience. All food and drink was delicious, all staff were very helpful and accommodating. The space is very elegant and classic.

Ive stayed at the Faimont hotel in Lac Louise and Jasper ...
RIMROCK HOTEL has better service ..very clean, classy, view is wow and employees are very top . Restaurant had good food also.
GO FOR IT ..you will not be disappointed!!!

Amazing time in this hotel, the staff always care about you, they always ask you if you need help, the front desk guy was Australian was really nice and helpful , this hotel is spectacular with a old and antique style is just stunning!! Also we have the opportunity to try the buffet everthing was delicious, Definitely a place you can come back for a getaway.

Unprofessional. For the amount of money you spend here you would think the service would be better. Went in to the restaurant which was good. But the valet didn't get our car for 25 min, and when the car arrived 25 min later 3 guys came out. When we asked why it took so long and why it took 3 guys to get our car (from the parkade that is right there), the guy replied that it got them to work. Not sure what they did or who they picked up, and why it took 25 min and 3 guys but the service should represent the price you charge

I stayed here for six nights while skiing Sunshine and Lake Louise. This hotel is really nice. Great amenities and a lot of charm. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Experienced some noisy clanging in the walls during the early hours of the morning on 8th floor. Engineering staff should look into it.

We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary. Beautiful vistas and we were welcomed with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. Thank you for the great service.

Great hotel, lobby, restaurant room were superb. It has the balcony that you can directly see the beautiful mountain covered by snow. the lobby is on the 7th floor. There is also a shuttle bus to down town area. Highly recommended hotel for staying.

Stayed at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff and just fell in love with the view. Service was great. The gym was uptodate and very clean.

I went to the Rimrock spa with my boyfriend we booked 2massages back to back since they were all booked up. The hospitality was lovely! Very attentive respectful and professional. I gave it 3 stars because both me and my boyfriend left very unsatisfied with the massage we received. Everything else was lovely great view and the place was very clean.

This hotel is one of two of our go to places to stay while visiting Banff. The hotel is wonderful and the staff are amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone who is considering visiting Banff!!!

Located near the Banff Upper Hot Springs, the Rimrock Resort Hotel has established itself in a class above most other Banff area hotels, with the Fairmont Banff Springs being its main competitor. Comparisons are made between the two all the time, and each has their benefits.

The Rimrock boasts larger rooms, and if you've paid a little extra, the view out the window is spectacular. Something to note: if the room's description mentions limited view, you're going to be looking at trees or the side of the mountain, and not the beautiful valley the more expensive rooms overlook.

Service staff were attentive to our needs, and from the minute we pulled up, a bellhop was ready and waiting to help with our bags. The gentlemen at the concierge desk were able to suggest several activities to fill the time between checking in and our late dinner reservation, and even advised us on the current wait time at the nearby Sulfur Mountain Gondola (a Banff area must-see). Our room was spacious, but it seems the housekeeping staff were either rushed or didn't notice the few cobwebs hanging from the crown moulding above the bed.

The location of the hotel is either a drive or a bus ride away from the main downtown area of Banff where the majority of shops and restaurants are located, although unlike the Fairmont, the Rimrock offers complimentary use of the Banff ROAM transit service. Since the hotel is a fair distance off the beaten path, the atmosphere at night is quiet and peaceful, and we were able to leave our room window open to let the cool fresh mountain air into the room.

As far as spa and fitness amenities are concerned, the Rimrock falls second to the Fairmont Banff Springs, whose Spa is rated among the best in Canada. The whirlpool hot tub in the Rimrock could have been a couple degrees warmer, but the pool area was clean and tidy when we visited.

If you're more concerned about having a few more square feet in your hotel room, as well as a 5 diamond rated hotel on site, the Rimrock is a great choice. If historical style and a world class spa are valuable, choose the Fairmont Banff Springs. Either choice will land you in one of Banff's top hotels.

Amazing location and views. Very beautiful interior. Very clean. Polite and helpful staff. 5 minute walk to the gondola. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location and gorgeous views. Great and friendly staff. Comfortable room, though I would recommend spending a few extra $ to get a valley view.

- Could hear the neighbors and their business clearly

For the money this Rimrock demands......we were expecting a hotel that did a bit more. Nothing different from a Radisson or Hyatt where you pay $100/$179 a night for the room max. Lovely views, so if that's your main focus then this hotel is for u. Chucks Steakhouse in Banff is my favorite by FAR! Amazing food. But the Rimrock was meh ok for the cash spent. Gorgeous area, enjoy wherever u stay!!

Was here for a weekend wedding, and nothing disappointed. Staff are marvelous, especially Katy and Brett.

Hotel is unique, with all the amenaties you could ask for.

I highly recommend staying here when you are visiting Banff. The staff is amazing from check in to check out. The breakfast buffet had many items to choose from and Larkspur lounge was our favorite late night spot because of the bartender Steve. He have us recommendations to item on the menu and places to try downtown. The pool was nice and very clean. The only thing I would recommend for them is to have more places to refill water bottles. Water can be expensive in the store. Overall very nice views, excursions and staff! Will definitely be back.

Excellent mountain views food and catering but horrible customer service experience everrrr....

We checked in a week ago on saturday june 20 late evening around 6 with a family group of 5 including my mother and checked out very next day sunday. Stay was quite and impressive with clean rooms and quick room service. But 3 days later evening on wednesday, the director of operations simply charged my credit card and mailed 1312.50$ Invoice for a broken tv with no further information attached.
The pics were mailed on request though the later day.
I called front deskimmediately and they had no information of this incident in their system: so i happened to talk to manager the very next day. I asked her we had no problem paying had it ben damages on our end and if she has any witness or video proof of damages or any traces. It didnt sound professional as manager said there were no cameras in room or lobby for tracing and the housekeeper found it damaged when he/she got in to clean and this is how they believe we did this damage. Who knows it was broken while cleaning room right!??

Seriouslly!!!!!! I should have ben informed within few hours or at max day later. Looks like someone else broke it while sweeping and thus i was billed two days later. I verified with all my pals on my end and they said it was working the last day and they didn't have any clue as to how it was broken after we left.

The manager kept saying they trust their employees and this is how it is my fault. Omg!

Seriously, the 2 star is for nice food and service but the way management dealt with situation is just horrible.
Rimrock must implement better customer policies and procedures in effect to keep their customers coming back but we wont be there again.

Careful when ordering through room service, they tack on a $9 room service charge on top of the $3 delivery charge.

A wonderful place to visit and view the Rocky Mountains. The hotel is wonderfully appointed and has fantastic views from the restaurants and bars. They serve delicious food and beverages too. All staff was excellent. They provide free bus service to downtown Banff which was perfect so getting home after a fun night was free and easy.

Eden restaurant, good bars, beautiful surroundings and perfectly placed for the gondola.

My daughter just arrived back from a weekend at your hotel with friends.She and 2 other friends had breakfast from the menu and within an hour all three were vomiting and had constant trips to the toilet.They brought this to the attention of one of your managers and all she could say was thank you for the info and walked away.This sort of thing should be addressed with concern.To top things off she said it took an hour and a half for the breakfast.

We were lucky enough to have our wedding reception, dinner, and drinks hosted by the Rimrock resort in August. Their customer service cannot be matched - from providing exceptional guest rooms, to feeding my hungry Man of Honor foie gras that was off the menu - they will help you have the best wedding you could even imagine. They have made us guests for life. We used everything from pool & spa services, squash courts, The Eden customized menu, wine service, bachelorette supplies, the Infinity suite, and the Diva - and with their help everything went perfectly. It was comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. The moments they gave to us during our wedding will be remembered for a lifetime.

Almost 5 . Very comfortable with beautiful scenery. Great service. Nice lounge area. Carpets and decor/paintwork a bit tired looking in some places. I will come back for definite.

The location, staff, food and cleanliness was fantastic and the bed and pillows certainly helped us sleep well. However, the bathroom was far from what we have become used to. It was far too small and badly laid out. The fact that the wardrobe was in a room with a wash basin seemed very odd; it could have been in the bedroom. There was only one bedside table, yet two double beds. The room was badly lit and was short of power sockets by the beds. I felt uncomfortable sitting in the garden area, as it was being used by people lounging about in dressing gowns as they were using the spa facilities. It just seemed strange. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful and we did enjoy our stay.

Spent our week-long honeymoon here, truly an amazing experience. The food, drinks, and staff were the pinnacle of anywhere I've stayed. I can wait until I can visit again.

Attended the Rimrock for a wedding. It is a beautiful location and the staff and food were amazing. If anyone is looking for somewhere to stay in banff I would highly recommend this hotel!

Perfect in terms of view and very close to gondola. Rooms are well kept. Lounge has a nice patio if you can get on it. Staff is really responsive. Check was easy given covid. Parking close by. Valet not available.

Room is nice and big, but nothing really that special. Parking is $18 for one night which i think is ridiculous, but maybe that's just me.

Dinner at Eden was excellent. Great food, beautifully presented, and attentive service. Expensive, but outstanding.

My wife and I have stayed here 4 years in a row in the fall season and it has been a great experience each time. I would suggest trying for a 9th floor odd number room to get the best possible views in the hotel. Parking is plenty. Food is usually very nice . Pool & Fitness facilities are family friendly.

One of the best hotels, I ve stayed at. It is a bit far from the local Banff market. But the hotel offers complimentary bus shuttle service to and from the Banff city. All you need to do is show the bus driver your room key. The cafe is really nice in the hotel, I would highly suggest to get up a bit early in the morning around 8am and sit outside in the patio. The view and birds chirping in the morning is beautiful. As well at night there is band playing. A nice glass of wine beside a wood fireplace is very soothing and peaceful. I would highly suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Banff.

Great hotel stunning location free passes for the shuttle bus down into town a bonus as it saved taking the car and finding parking spaces in busy Banff .Well kept hotel with attentive staff and very clean .

They accepted our last minute booking and were very accommodating for us. Friendly staff, great room service breakfast, clean room, great view. Respectful of covid cleanliness and rules.

Their spa knows what it's doing, I paid the advertised price, and felt alot better after my visit.

Very fancy hotel, a really nice gym, pool hot tub, sauna and steam room were nice perks. Only downside is we could not find a good place to have breakfast, the restaurants are all very expensive.

Its a big place. Rooms were elegant. View is stunning. During winter, they make a small skating rink and theres a fireplace outside. Lots of amenities. Parking is tight if you have a large car. You gain free transit (with the card). Theres restaurants in the hotel and some have a dress code (bring casual-elegant clothes!)

Exceptional service. The hotel was beautiful. The staff were very friendly. The facilities were spotless and attended to at all times. I cannot give enough praise to this place. Recommend going 2nd week of January as no one is there! The food is good too.

Beautiful location and food at primrose restaurant was great. All staff have been courteous and very professional. and location is just a few minutes outside of Banf. Its not packed with tourists.

We stayed at the Rim Rock for a two night stay. We stayed in both Grandview and then Premium after a plumbing debacle at 3am in the Grandview Room. We preferred the Premium Room. Prompt response by maintenance to the 3am call though and comped by Rimrock for the trouble!
Great location with walking distance to Banff Hot Springs.
