Very nice hotel. Lots to do close to gondola and springs. Room had a smell to it, nothing major.

The View! The food. The gym. The rooms. When I stay there. I don't leave
My husband and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We paid extra and got a 5th floor room with an unobstructed view and a king bed. It was worth every penny! We spent lots of time looking out that window, drinking wine, eating truffles from the cafe, and talking. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were all excellent and accommodating. I will strongly recommend this experience to everyone -as our friends did to us.
Amazing hotel which exceeded all of our expectations!! We stayed here for 12 night. Check in was fast and simple, customer service outstanding!! The reception placed us on the 9th floor and the mountain/valley views were incredible! Spa was amazing and complimentary ice skating in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. Food at larkspur Lounge was great and reasonably priced. Hotel location is perfect! right across from the gondola and hot springs surrounded by mountains/nature views and less people . I would like to make a special Thankyou to Nicole from guest services for going above and beyond to make our stay at the rimrock special and a vacation we will always remember! 5 star hotel experience and we look forward to coming back to stay in the summer time!
I used for travel at the end of May. Easy access to Sulfur Mountain Gondola and Upper Hot Springs. It was good to walk 5 or 6 minutes.
The room is large and beautiful. As it was cheap room, scenery is not so much.
Overall wasn't too bad. Two points of mild annoyance. First being our room wasn't ready (That's fine) So we were told they would call us. They never did. I eventually call down to them to find it is ready. Later once we are in the room we ordered an extra robe. And we never received it. Nice views. Windows let a lot of light in during the day. And the curtains block the sun amazingly.
Stayed at the Rimrock for Christmas, in the King Premier Room. We spent six days in the hotel. It is a beautiful hotel, but I am not impressed with the fact that they allow dogs. Huge, furry dogs were trapsing in and out of the hotel. Absolutley disgusting. The food offered in the Larkspur lounge is over priced and low quality. The service in the Larkspur is catered to families sitting with loud children and only ordering water, which is free. Rather than clients who come to drink, relax and spend money in the lounge. We were booked for the Christmas dinner at the Primrose, and it was very disappointing. The meal was dry and completley overcooked and cold, for $70.00 I was expecting more.
On the plus side, the consierge is absolutley amazing! Any request we had was met with a smile and executed to perfection. Unlike other people have mentioned, the parking was not an issue for us. We however use the valet service, for $30.00 a day it is well worth it.
Overall the Rimrock is a beautiful place to stay. However, the restaurants offered in the hotel are overpriced and the food is sub par. We recommend eating in Banff.
Really enjoyed the hotel. Spent the night there for a work weekend away. The service was excellent, rooms were great. No complaints at all.
Over Priced room n Breakfast not included
You either have the buffet which starts at nearly CAD30/ or order A la Carte which is as expensive
Beautiful location
The staff was amazing... the food was great too.. Thank you!
Vary spacious well decorated (modern) nicely appointed room. Comfortable bed.
Professional, cozy, classy. Great nature setting. Really good gym and pool.
No hot water on our last morning. They kept their bar closed despite their being a 20-30min wait to get a drink or bite in their lobby lounge. It seems a bit ridiculous to charge $23 per night for parking after dumping over $1k into the business over the weekend and with limited alternative options on the side of the mountain. Wrote a note to the manager about our experience and he hasn t responded in 6 days. I stayed there about 5 or 6 times and took a host of clients there a couple years ago but it s fair to say I won t be back.
Stayed here for two nights.
Pro: room was very quiet and front reception staff were very helpful.
Pool is open with booking
Quiet location.
Cons: ate at the lark lounge and had a dead fly in my salad sitting on top when delivered. Sent back and got the same salad with the fly removed. Got a round of drinks on the house but paid for the salad.
Housekeeping only on checkout.
TV only worked occasionally. Signal?
Pool was very cold.
Hotel is very dated and appears unkept as a result.
I would look for alternatives next time.
Only there 1 night. No problems. Bit far from town but free bus ever 20mins. from just outside hotel.
Very poor experience with the management ,they sent us the invoice that we broke the television and they also charge us for that even after 3-4 days of our visit without any proof.
This kind of experience was not expected from the management.
Excellent service from the friendly greetings at the door to the very professional service in the lobby lounge.
We stayed at some very nice hotels while on holidays in Canada but the best has to be The Rimrock Resort Hotel Banff, the staff very friendly and professional, food at there restaurant was fantastic and the room was the cleanest of all hotels we stayed and the view looking over Banff and the valley was just beautiful.
Horrible service at this hotel !
Treated like a common criminal asked for
I d and credit not once but twice!
Had to wait an hour and a half for our room
Was told the would page us when room was ready NOT!
Paid to be treated like garbage for 500.00 a night never stay at this so called upscale resort ever !
Go to the competition where you are treated with respect and dignity for what you are paying.
I will be contacting hotels. Com that I booked through as well hotel management!
Stay far away from this place!
Stayed in rimrock last year and went for breakfast this year. Both times, wonderful staff, amazing views of the mountains and valleys, beautiful exterior and interior. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious- omelette station was particularly good. Would definitely drop by during any trip to the Rockies.
Not the cheapest but who cares when you can wake up to those views...
The room itself was extremely comfortable and the staff excellent. Free high quality wifi too.
Definitely need to try the in house restaurants as well. Yet again, a little pricey, but some of the best food I've ever eaten. The seafood carbonara was exquisite.
You definitely need to stay here if you are visiting Banff. It doesn't get better.
Everything was better than expected. Service is great, rooms are clean and tidy, and the hotel has great amenities. The views are breathtaking. There is a hot spring within walking distance and also a ride up the gondola to get even better views.
My wife and I wanted a nice quiet romantic weekend; this defiantly was NOT the right place.
First I ll start with the good: Amazing views (depending on the room, we had to move).
The Bad.
When booking, I told the booking agent My wife and I want a quiet weekend, I have some work to do, I m looking for a nice room with a beautiful view. My wife would like a nice spa day well I m working .
She recommended a premium room with a balcony; I said great and booked it. The balcony was right above the terrace and Maple fest was on so the terrace was full loud people drinking and partying (which is fine but when you say you want quiet and nice views why would they give me this? Price wasn t an issue so I really can t understand this).
Second room (after having to pay for the 'upgrade')
- Alright so my first room I complained about the noise and garbage view, I m not sure if it was the clerk's sense of humor but she then moved me to a room beside a screaming baby. Every hour, all night long and this place has PAPER THIN WALLS. When complaining again I was given a blank look and told it s a baby, they cry. (Really maybe try moving us, or don t put a young couple wanting a quiet weekend next to a room with tiny children!) I walked away in anger.
- Overall the room was very basic, nice bed and bedding but everything else is basically holiday inn finishing. We didn t even get stir sticks for our coffee or soap and shampoo in the washroom (granted we did for the second day).
- The Washroom - first off I always wonder why when I m paying almost $400/night for a room and the bathroom doesn t even have the fixing of home, the tub was tinny smaller than even a standard size tub, the shower head was for short people, I actually had to squat to wash my hair (I m 6 4 ) the shower head was about chin height. Didn t even have a bath robe, might be minor but again they advertise this as luxury hotel.
- The room's were cold, I turned the thermostat to the highest setting at 25 degrees but the room never got that warm, we were on the top floor and I'm not sure if there were people below us but the floors were freezing the whole time.
The Spa
Well my wife didn t get her Spa day, when completing the booking I asked if I could book my wife a Mani/Pedi at 2pm on Saturday, my response was that shouldnt be a problem so I assumed it was booked. However it wasn t! Saturday afternoon we went in and they were already fully booked and the only time she could get in was at 9:15pm.
To top it all off, they didn't even have enough parking for all guests and we had to leave our band new car parked out on the street. We were told 'this happens a lot on weekends'.
Conclusion, RUN, don t ruin your trip by staying here like we did. All you get is a nice view and a sub standard room and service. If you are looking for a luxury resort go to the Fairmont, prices are about par but you get the finer luxuries you should get in luxury hotel. This was by far the worst hotel experience I ve had in a long time. I wont be returning and I will be sure to tell everyone not to stay at this hotel.
Location is way off, views are good, but not in all rooms, many are obstructed by trees.
Rooms are a bit older, windows are from the 60s. Amenities overall are good. Service at restaurants and bars is great, so so at front desk and less than average at front door.
It's really far from town, only thing it's close to is the gondola which you can take a bus to go there anyway.
Our first family trip to Banff post covid shutdown. Our suite, the service and dining was excellent. A special mention to Chas for going the extra mile for us! We can't wait until our next trip back to the Rimrock. Thank you
Incredible service from beginning to end. Always greater with a smile and friendly staff. Dinner at the Eden restaurant was phenomenal. My only complaint would be the view was obstructed because of the constant snowfall.
beautiful view of the Rockies and is conveniently located between Sulphur Mountain and high street of Banff. spacious and luxurious rooms.
I have visited the rimrock several times, for conferences and for leisure. It is beautiful hotel, with wonderful staff, and always nicely decorated. We have also eaten at the promise for their bunch and Eden for dinner, and both are incredible restaurants!
Drove to Banff for the day and decided to have brunch at the Rimrock and really liked what we saw. After brunch went to the front desk to see if we could get a room for the evening. Yes we could and a deluxe view room as well and at a slightly discounted price. We checked in on the spot which turned out to be a great idea. The pool was great, not at all crowded, the room was good but the view was spectacular. We went out for the day and returned for supper which lived to our expectations. Spent some time in the lobby lounge listening to the entertainment (Suzie on the piano) who was very good. Great sleep in an ultra quite room and back to the pool (still unoccupied ). Checked out and drove back home to Calgary thourolly relaxed. Best impromptu mini vacation ever, thanks guys.
I had a great time at the Rimrock Resort Hotel. I was attending a wedding and stayed one night as well. The employees are very courteous and set everything up well. Rooms and halls were clean, and well designed. There is an additional cost for parking though.
Went to the Rimrock today and had a tour. Storm was our guide, she was very friendly and informative. I recommend going to this hotel. Absolutely gorgeous hotel and views.
Very pricey and service does not match the cost. Balcony door was broken, bathrooms are clean but dated and check-in was poor to put it mildly. Great view - if the trees were shorter..
This is a very nice hotel in a great location, especially if planning to ride the gondola or visit thebhot springs here. Once you get used to the lobby being up from your room (potentially), you're all set. The room was very clean and comfortable loved the outdoor patio on the 4th floor room thst we nav had during our visit!
Awesome customer service, comfortable rooms with great window view. 5 star Spa, food and other services are best.
Living accommodations are good. We ate at the Primrose for dinner and the service and food were mediocre at best. Halibut was very dry (overcooked). Venison was dry and overcooked as well. I already turned back my overcooked filet mignon that came back a little too rare. They never really apologized for the overcooked filet, I asked for between medium rare and medium, but I came full medium to well done. We would have complained about the rest of the food, but others in my party didn't want to. Pasta came out lukewarm.
Beautiful view from our room. Breakfast at Primrose was pricey but had good options for the buffet. Room was nice but bathroom somewhat on the small side and could use a refresh for the rates they charge. They had a lovely ice skating rink, the ice itself was pretty bad, but loved the small covered area with patio chairs and a propane fireplace. Parking lot filled up early and could use more spaces.
Room was nice and clean. Helpful staff. Wonderful location. The only complaint ia that they forgot to clear the alarm from the previous guests so we were woken up at 645. Other than that there were no complaints.
THE place to stay in Banff....beautiful location, great restaurants, friendly staff, and a view to die for!
Amazing customer service! Thinking of bringing my staff here to learn customer service from them! From beginning to end, at reception, at the restaurant, etc. I was all around impressed.
The Health Bowl was bland but the hotel is gorgeous!
Highly recommend staying here. Very nice hotel, great views, and professional staff.
My only complaint is that I did not stay here long enough!
Food service for the event was not that good. Food was over cooked. Steaks were dry and and very chewy
Great location and great view. The rooms are clean, the gym is good and the food is superb.
Beautiful location. Wonderful staff. The breakfast buffet was awesome at the Primrose. The rooms are nice. A little dated but comfortable. Beautiful view from our room. The one thing is the hotel is really warm...
Back after 14 years and as great I remembered. Stunning location and service to match.
Beautiful scenery and views, delicious restaurants, very comfortable.
Dining at Primrose wasn't _bad_ but was below expectations. My clam vongole was oily but tasted good. My wife's pork belly/lamb roll was mainly pork fat and the lamb was overcooked. In contrast, the passion fruit custard and mango dessert had a good tang.
Horrible service
Extremely run down rooms. I have yet to receive an apology from the manager. Traveling the world I think I would know a thing or two about hospitality.
One positive note extremely beautiful views
Beautiful hotel with amazing mountain view to wake up in there morning
Great service. Average rooms. Wonderful brunch! Cold pool:) my daughter wanted to go in the pool the whole time... it was freezing!
Amazing view of the mountain. Friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended.
You don't want to be stuck with noisy neighbours. The adjoining door between rooms lets through all the sound from the nextdoor room.
It looking a little tired for the price, especially the pool and gym.
The Chefs tasting was phenomenal as usual. Was also very accommodating to my partner's vegan diet. Don't change a thing.
Good service. Best location. Nice view and good food. Good size room.
First time there and the room was really clean. Staff was friendly. Self parking is a little bit of a pain due to limited space. Would recommend it to friends and family.
Writing this makes me want to book a ticket and stay here again. We stayed here for the last days before going home and we couldn t have chosen a better place. The staff was amazing, so helpful and friendly. The rooms was beautiful and then having that view! We just sat there in our chairs looking at the sunset and then left the curtains open to see the sun rise. Obviously the food was amazing (in both restaurants). Do ask for a wine pairing, the staff know what they re talking about :-)
Awesome experience. All rooms have a great view. Staff are exceptional. Amenities are thethe best.
Lovely stay! Excellent service, wonderful view, perfect location!
A luxury hotel with classic charm, excellent clean rooms, and courteous staff. While hitting the town, complimentary bus service was very handy and the cab ride back after transit service ends is inexpensive.
Recently stayed at the Rimrock when my boyfriend was there for a medical conference.
Luxurious hotel overlooking the mountains. We were only on the second floor but had a decent view.
The gym and pool are very nice, and the hotel is a five minute walk from the hot springs up the hill.
Staff were lovely and accommodating.
Very nice, secluded, mountain view rooms are STUNNING. 1/4 of the Fairmont price but extremely similar (I prefer rimrock...less tourists hanging out in the lobby for no reason and the rooms are WAY nicer....grounds and set up of hotel are almost identical). Ambiance is amazing...their cocktail lounge is superb....crazy mountain views. Will SURELY be returning.
Thanks again for a wonderful experience. Everything was conveniently set up and went fairly smoothly. Staff were most pleasant, attentive, and accommodating to our needs.
