I had the opportunity the stay at the Phoenician for a conference recently and the rooms, service, and restaurants were all superb. I wanted to get in some relaxation at the pool and spa, but was unable too. I would highly recommend the Phoenician to anyone that's looking for a 5-Star Luxury Retreat in Arizona. The grounds on the property are immaculate!

Maxwell Kenny was the rudest and nastiest person we ve ever come across. He used vulgar language with my wife while in front of my young children.
The rest of the staff was exceptional but Maxwell Kenny ruined my taste of the Phoenician experience.
Maxwell Kenny clearly should not be working with guests in person at best he should be a back scene type of person maybe in the gardening sector.

From the standpoint of a professional event, the facilities were top notch. Meeting rooms were quiet and they had plenty available of all the various sizes we needed. The food provided was excellent, and all of our technical needs for presentations/stages/lighting/sound were professional.

Amazing ambience and excellent customer service. It was extremely packed but even with a busy night the staff supported each other to make sure we were accommodated. Live music if you want that inside but a very romantic candle lit environment outside if you wanted a more low key atmosphere. My wife and I truly enjoy ourselves Everytime we got to the thirsty lounge in the Phoenician!!

Really nice hotel, very large with luxury accommodations. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location isn't too far from the entertainment district in Scottsdale and also relative convenient to the airport. I didn't golf there but was told from several colleagues that the golf is really nice. The food was very good and I would definitely come back again in a recreational manner.

Beautiful hotel. Customer service and attention to detail is lacking. Had to ask for a coffee cup the first day- after waiting for quite a while they show up with everything but the cup.
Had a misunderstanding with housekeeping and the manager came by and offered us a credit, which we appreciated but it seems they re severely understaffed. I felt terrible for the housekeeping staff.
Drinks at the pool are a joke. We asked for an extra shot and were charged $14 for the drink, $14 for the extra shot, and were still left wondering if it had alcohol in it after dropping $28 on it.
Ordered lattes at 4 am and was told it d take 20 min... 45 min later and they show up with cold lattes that were more milk than anything.
The spa was nice, however if you show up early to do the pre-treatment ritual you ll want to wear a watch. They have one clock in the area and you can t see it from the majority of the pre-treatment area. Kind of hard to relax when you have to worry about the time and going downstairs to meet your massage therapist. I ve been to spas that charge $120/hr and have natural hot springs baths that were more attentive than this. I m used to getting in the pools/baths/steam rooms, etc. and being asked by the attendant what time my appt is. They ALWAYS tell me to relax and enjoy and they ll worry with the time and come get me when it s time to get ready for my massage. That is relaxation.
I was never asked about allergies or asked to fill out paperwork and the only lotion they had was full of things I m allergic to if they come into contact with my face. Very odd experience. The massage was nice.
We also smelled something that resembled sewage or feces in the parking garage and by the restaurants.

Over-rated. Very dated. Chairs & couches in main lobby old, worn, cushions flat, carpet very dated & stained. Outdoor grounds okay. Cement cracked everywhere you walk. Maintenance crews cutting lawns prime morning time. Tractors parked on walkways. Residual grass clippings left on walkways when they left. Sloppy. Have visited many resorts in USA. Mexico is far superior for impeccable service & ground maintenance.
Geese droppings everywhere on walkway & left for guests to step in.
Yesterday found a geese in the pool. Staff finally removed it but not before it decided to leave a dropping on the rim of the pool. When I pointed it out to crew staff, he stated "they do it all the time" & walked away. I had to ask him to clean it up- which he did grudgingly.
Yoga classes should be available daily as well as the breakfast buffet. It should not be the fault of the current guests that these items are not available because the resort has an occupancy level less than 80%. Very disappointed.

Cherish, Gennaro, Kylee, Chase and Cody made our stay exceptional! Seriously, I wish I could remember everybody else's name, including at the spa. These folks have hospitality down and we have never experienced such a remarkable hotel stay.
The views and amenities were excellent as well, but the staff engagement was epic!

We were told where to park and found it with ease. We were told to "take the elevators to the pool" but not what floor. The lobby was easy to find and we were properly directed to the pool with ease, but upon reaching the pool; we were informed we could not enter without a wristband and had to go back up to the lobby to get one at the front desk. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue but I had 3 kids in tow by myself. We got our wristbands and had zero issues from there. My daughter participated in their weekend mermaid class. She loved it. The staff were very courteous and friendly to me and my other 2 children who were waiting pool side. The pool area looked amazing with a splash pad, hot tub and several different pools to swim in. I have never stayed at the Phoenician but look forward to a 'staycation' to fully experience the entire facility!

I had a small issue with the room when we check in and spoke to the front desk about it. Within 2 hours, I received a call from Christina Ranken and not only did she have another room for us but she had the hotel staff move us. Shortly after that, we received a small gift from Christina as well as an apology. Very impressive, they know how to treat customers!!!

Beautiful resort with gigantic rooms and all the upscale luxuries. Came for a work conference but would love to return and enjoy the huge pool, spa, fitness facility, grounds, and camelback mountain trail which is right behind the resort. Guest rooms and bathrooms, lobbies, restaurants and conference areas all have updated, modern decor. All the staff has been wonderful, friendly and eager to help. Food has been great especially since the conference has been all buffet service; everything has been the right temperature, very tasty and I love that they put a southwest spin on the dishes. The Phoenician is perfect for a corporste event or a weekend getaway to refresh and focus on health and fitness.

We recently stayed at the resort over the labor day weekend and I'm incredibly disappointed with the staff. This post was 100% avoidable had any one of the 3 people I spoke with, on 3 separate days, simply called me back. Long story short, my family and I checked out Monday (9/3) at 3pm, we have 2 childen so this process is always crazy and this is where the problems started, as I ended up leaving 3 headsets on the bench in the room.
As soon as we got home that night, I called the resort at 11:42pm CST, thinking that in order for me to maximize the chance of getting them back, we needed to get into the room quickly and/or talk to the employee(s) who cleaned the room. The woman on the phone placed me on hold to talk to her lost and found department. I told her that we needed to act quick, as I just checked out. She told me the department is closed and she would call me back the next day, when they return. I never received a call on 9/4 and so I called again on 9/5 at 1:21pm CST. I spoke with a different woman who apologized profusely. She was very sweet and I thought that I finally would be able to get some help. She placed me on hold to speak with lost and found, again. She returned and said they are not available but she would call me the next day. I told her how time is not my friend here and we needed to get in contact with whomever cleaned the room after we left. She told me that I was in luck because the room had a maintenance tag on it, which meant it was waiting for maintenance to go into the room and then it would be cleaned, so it wasn't even cleaned yet. I told the woman that unfortunately I don't believe it wasn't entered by the housekeepers, because they knocked on our door around 2pm, to clean the room and we thought it was odd because we requested and was granted a 3pm check-out. She again told me how she understood and said she was sending someone to the room immediately and I would receive a call back that day. I never received a call that day or the next, so I called a final time on 9/7 at 12:23pm CST. I again explained the entire story for a 3rd time, was placed on hold for lost and found, was told they weren't available and that I would receive a call back later in the day. I asked to speak to a manager, she placed me on hold and then told me all managers are busy and they will call me back.
What do I do???? How could I have handled this differently? I tried 3 times, spoke with 3 different people and had the exact same result. This is not a coincidence, this is how your people are trained. I know it's my fault I left items in the room, I completely get that, but is this seriously how you train your people to react to guest issues?
We were and always are very generous with tipping the housekeepers daily, we are very generous with taking care of the other hotel employees as well. We didn't request a discount or anything for free when our first room was infested with ants, we grabbed our stuff and just walked to the front desk. No scene, no trouble.
So we respected everyone who directly or indirectly impacted our stay, why can't we get the same in return??

Great resort next to old town Scottsdale. Very expensive. Although if it's not season you can find some great deals. Right at the base of Camelback mountain. So views are incredible. Great pool, some of the best golf the valley has to offer. Fun for all walks of live, kid friendly.

My girl and I decided we wanted a night out and experience a certain atmosphere so we decided to come to the phoenician. We stayed at the presidential suite and may i say WOW. it sure was a experience, for the price it was well worth it. All the staff and management were welcoming and accommodating. The spa treatment was amazing I never thought i would get one but looks like we will be doing it again real soon. We only decided to stay one night so we didnt get to do everything but my girl has already made reservations on coming back. It was so amazing we decided to make it a routine to maybe do it once a month. It's a must try if ur thinking about it.

I ate lunch at Mowry & Cotton while attending a conference at the Phoenician. I was very impressed with the food and experience! I had the citrus salmon and chickpea bowl and it was amazing!!! The Phoenician isn't close to where I live in Tempe, but I will be back for that salad! While there for the conference, I got to see the beautifully renovated spa. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I am planning a girls trip with some local friends for a spa day!

We did have a wonderful time the pools are lovely the service was slim to none the first day at the pool but the second day much better. The rooms are lovely... however the billing department ( like i just saw on a review ) wish i had seen that before...because its has changed my whole opinion. I have called and left 3 messages regarding charges to my card that are not making sense they are coming on my card falling off then another comes on and there are charges not on my folio and no response from the billing department not even a call back....Also please make sure to watch your belongings at the pool area's. It really pains me to leave poor reviews on any business but in this case I feel its justified.

The Phoenician is a high end luxury resort and lives up to that with the level of service and accommodations. Today we enjoyed high tea in the dining area just off the lobby. The tea service is equal to the best we have enjoyed in major cities around the world. One suggestion, try the White Berry tea for a delightful flavored tea. Oh and stay for the incredible view of the sunset.
Rumored to be the pinnacle of luxury 20 years ago....
Rumored to be the pinnacle of luxury 20 years ago. Flash forward to present day and the Phoenician is relegated to offering semi-reasonable nightly rates in an attempt at luring you into a battle of wits whereby they employ ancient torture methods (ie death by a thousands cuts) through blood letting services and charging you exorbitant rates for every incidental fee imaginable. I'm half surprised we weren't billed a fee for accounting services. The facilities are old and the rooms mediocre considering the narrative they're attempting to sell. There's a Disney Land stench to everything you pay for as you realize you're not paying more for a superior product but simply because you're being offered the privilege of being at the Phoenician. They do earn major points for their personal having cultivated a staff that never falters in kindness or exemplary service. You'll definitely enjoy your stay, there are just so many more resorts in the area where you can get more for less. I'd prefer paying more up front and releasing myself from the onslaught of "customer ascension" attempts at making up their profits elsewhere.
