Stayed in a Casita, what a wonderful week it was! I moved to Tucson after I visited and realized I want to live my life in a vacation state! You never have to get in a plane, you are always a few hours from the best vacation people usually only dream of.

I will start off by saying that the property is gorgeous. The only issue that we had was the treatment we received. We were here with a large group for a total of four days. We enjoyed the many amenities offered by the property. Most of the staff were extremely kind and courteous. However we did experience a few occasions where we were made to feel not welcome. The first incident was when we visited the pool. The young lady went around to each guest to ask them what they would like and skipped us. Eventually we moved from the jacuzzi area to the pool. We selected our lounge chairs and proceeded to swim. The young lady still had not acknowledged us. It started to rain. We rushed over to our area to put up the umbrella as our things were getting wet. The young lady finally came over to help but we had been there for quite some time and at this point we just took the interaction at face value. She finally asked what we wanted and we ordered and that was that. The next incident came the next day during afternoon tea. I made reservations in advance. We arrived about 10 minutes early. There was no direction on what to do or where to go so we chose seats we felt were appropriate. I realize our mistake so that is not the issue. The issue came when the hostess came over and told myself and the guest I was with was that the seats were reserved for the afternoon tea. She automatically assumed we did not belong there. I politely let the woman know that we had reservations. She let us know that they were not ready and asked that we sit elsewhere until they were ready. My guest and i waited for about five minutes, then the hostess came back and let us know that our seats were ready. She explained that seats were assigned. She asked if our parking needed to be validated and I again politely let her know that we were guests here. My friends have also experienced odd behavior from staff when they visited the shops. They were made to feel uncomfortable as they browsed because the sales person followed them around the store, they never acknowledged them or asked if they needed help just followed them around as if they were going to steal something. I say all this to say that it is very hurtful and disrespectful to treat people this way. It shouldn t matter what a person looks like or what their background is. The only race is the human race. We were guests at this resort and our experience has been soured. Since the tea we have just been in our room. We didn t want to have to deal with being treated as less than. We wanted to go to the spa and the steakhouse but if I won t be respected I don t feel like I should spend anymore of my money. We were even given a 200 room credit as apart of our package as this was sponsored by our employer and we won t be using the rest. Please address this with your staff and remember to treat everyone equally.
3 day stay and it is worth every dollar! Staff is beyond friendly and the pools are beautiful. The food is top notch and the spa is something I look forward to using before I leave.
I ve wanted to visit this property for many many years and finally had the opportunity to in Nov 2019. The renovated rooms were gorgeous and did not disappoint! The service at our conference was shockingly poor. The breakfast buffet was always well staffed and had the best food. Lunch was average and dinner service was surprisingly poor. One dinner meeting didn t have enough food for our tables of 10 that were setup. I can t believe that lower quality food and restaurant service is the norm and we had to of been there at just the wrong time for that to happen. Despite that, I d go again because it was simply beautiful and would bet the food and service was an anomaly this time.
Beautiful property with well-appointed rooms. Good food and service at the bar and restaurants (except Mowry and Cotton restaurant, the younger servers need training). There were some miscommunications at the hotel but after speaking to management corrections were made immediately. They turned a potentially negative situation into a positive. Impressive. Overall, It was expensive, but well worth it.
What a beautiful environment and atmosphere! I was visiting for a conference and the staff was very helpful. This resort has new surprises of beauty around every corner. Gorgeous.
The bar area is absolutely beautiful!!!! Chris the bartender is the BOMB!!!! I JUST LOVE HIM!!!! HE'S SO KIND & VERY FRIENDLY & A VERY HAPPY GENTLEMAN. We're going for tea on October 24, 2019, I'm so excited!!! The accommodations are fabulously wonderful. We used to go to dinner at Mary Elene's however; that's closed and they opened a steak house in its place & Nancy G used to be an iconic figure there for over twenty years. She was the absolute best jazz blues singer ever!!!! I just loved her!!! She retired also!!!! Carol a Barrow
I just got home from this amazing Resort... We had an amazing time here. The staff were so friendly, every time you'd leave your room housekeeping is right behind you to go clean up your room. Service here was excellent. Overall had an unbelievable stay. Would definitely come back here. Who ever is doubting this hotel, DONT!!!... It is a 10 star resort.
Nothing too standout compared to other hotels in the area. Usually the visiting teams stay here, so that is always cool. The property is shared with the JW Marriott which is a little confusing the first time around. Perfect place to stay for a concert or a game. There are only a few floors that are guest floors and the rest of the building is residences. Valet staff, front desk, room service all top notch. The rooftop pool is wonderful and maintained. Club Level is well maintained throughout the day. This property lives up to thePhoenician Residences, a Luxury Collection Residence Club,
The only area I've experienced that needed serious attention was the shower/ tub drain was severely clogged. I barely turned on the water and within a minute or two, water started pooling on the tub. I can only imagine what's been lingering in the drain for that long to make water accumulate that quickly! Yuck!
Booked 1 night on 09/01/2018. Room had stains on the floor. Overpriced parking. Actually overpriced everything. The only reason we stayed here is because Talking Stick Resort was still closed due to a storm that had flooded them out. I will never stay in this hotel again. You want a great hotel and experience stay at Talking Stick Resort, not this overpriced hotel.
The Phoenician is simply awesome. Fantastic rooms, gorgeous public space, and backs right up to Camelback mountain. Pamper yourself at the spa, and enjoy the pools. The kidos will love the water slide, and if you're a golfer, well this may be paradise. Great restaurants, and if you love burgers try Relish Burger Bistro (they have great craft beers on tap from Four Peaks out of Tempe (and if you like Tequila, check out their Tequila Menus, its crazy).
Do not stay at this Resort. Went over Labor Day weekend. Checked out on Monday paid my bill. Then this morning I discover $150 additional charge on my credit card. I called the hotel they told me there was a $50 a day Resort fee that they forgot to charge me. I told the representative I was not informed about any type of a resort fee and was part of a package that I bought. If I owe the money that's fine wish they could have gone about it a little different maybe called me in advance and let me know what was going on. Don't stay at this horrible Resort stay at the Royal Palms much better service
Love this place, especially since the recent renovations. Yes it had gotten rather down at the heels in prior years, with carpets and cushions showing wear, and postponed maintenance. But the layout of the pools, grounds and the size of the rooms kept us coming back year after year. Now since the facelift it's that much more attractive. Prices are up accordingly, but you get what you pay for.
I love this place. Staff is gerat. the rooms are very clean and up to par. Great location and views. Its my first time in AZ but i will be back again with the wife and kids.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, course was in great shape. Would certainly golf here again. The only negative is the price of drinks, hope you're wallet is full if you're wanting to have a drink or two....
Nice resort, beautiful properties with 3 large pools, tennis courts, beautiful gym. Room were nice too. They offer yogas and other classes. We didn t have time to climb the mountain not enjoy the spa. The staff was very nice and professional but there were some inconsistencies to make it a luxurious 5-star hotel in my opinion. Very slow service at the restaurant/bar outside both nights; we had to stood up to ask someone to come see us after waiting for a good 15-20 minutes. When I got in my room, there were candies on the floor and a pair of boxers on the balcony. They gave me a plate of fruits to apologize. I got the good night service on the first nice but not on the second night, not sure why. They are details but it does make a difference when going to a luxury hotel, you expect a top notch experience.
You can still park free here as long as you don't go underneath.. may have to walk a bit.. This place has an awesome pond/waterfall little park to relax.. but Poolside is all over too with a bunch of different pools..and slide/ newer added kids splash play area.. awesome view to the foothills.. the bathroom in the room was amazing.. 2queen room with balcony over looking the pool.. can't complain. Always fun to come here for events, The crews/teams/staff/Chefs that make this place happen are truly unique friendly people.
Nice resort. Beautiful pools. The rooms are dated, just like any other 3 or maybe a 4 star hotel. Parts of the resort are nice and remodelled, but half is still dated. Beautiful location and golf course though.
Self parking and resort fee combined are high at 65. Certain hallways could use renovation. Spectacular resort all around, excellent customer service other than a waitress/bartender who was unaccommodating and stuffy. On the whole, completely impressive and will return.
Was quoted a 168 green fee on the phone, by the time we got to the course price was upper 190s, "tax" so they said. The course is decent with some great views, greens were ok at best. The staff there I guess thought they were running Augusta National, very rude and aloof. My buddy who is a war veteran showed his military ID not for a discount but because thats his only ID, and they staff replied with a what do you think thats going to get you a discount?? wow. Way overpriced, many courses in the Scottsdale area for way cheaper.
The suites at the canyon area are preatty and well done. Also the food from room service is tasty and the service also is great. Perfect place to relax with out kids
This is just a fabulous resort and hotel. The grounds and the buildings were immaculate. So very well cared for. Marble floors and beautiful fixtures. This was an exceptionally nice experience.
Visited for Afternoon Tea. Waitresses spilled tea on the floor, and overall, it wasn't extremely impressive, but it was still a good experience. Not bad, not great.
3 nights of luxury! Professional and friendly staff. Kaylee at the front desk helped us find our ideal upgrade room and very helpful at providing us information. The hotel location is perfect, next to camel back mountain and Scottsdale. Amenities are limited (pools and golf only). Rooms were clean and spacious. Tavern and Marketplace have excellent food selection (and coffee!), too bad the Steakhouse was still closed. If I already had an excellent experience with limited amenities/dining options, what more if they are fully operational?! Will definitely comeback and stay here longer!
Had dinner at Mowry And Cotton. Everything was prepared perfectly and the flavors were terrific. Caramelized Cauliflower was the best with just the right amount of zip. My salmon was cooked perfectly as was my wife's steak. Honestly my expectations were not too high but the food blew me away! Service was excellent as well.
This is a very nice hotel. The beds were really comfortable to sleep in. It was kind of expensive but it was worth it to get away for a couple of days. My wife and I got a couples massage while we were there and that was really nice! We went to one of the restaurants there in the resort and it was really bad. The food wasn't very good at all. I would recommend going somewhere else to eat near by.
We stay a couple of nights in an executive room in February, and it was a great experience. Friendly and professional staff will assist you with anything that you needed. They had great amenities and breakfast. Speaking in breakfast well, the breakfast was spectacular. They had all kinds of breakfast, and it was indeed delicious as well. A 5-star rated!
My wife and I stayed here over the New Year weekend and our stay was even better than the last 3 or 4 times we were here. The service is professional yet not invasive. The addition of the breakfast makes this even better. Can't wait to go back. Thank you.
Had a girls day getaway to celebrate birthdays and new change of careers....THE most excellent massage with Cher.....incredible! New spa facilities are relaxing, gorgeous and the staff could not have been more attentive....will definitely return soon!
Had a company outing this evening. My guest and I could not find our way to the ballroom where the event was held as the place is huge. I was hungry and our company had fried food apps that I was not interested in even though it was our annual awards ceremony. I was told that we could go to the Tavern on-site. We got there and they were closed. We walked back to the resort and ended up on the third floor at a bar serving food and ordered caesar salads w chicken. They arrived w/o any dressing. I was so frustrated after waiting for 10-15 minutes that I went to the room and ordered room service. It is now 11 pm and I have still not had dinner yet. I am a foodie and am well traveled. I am not impressed with the resort and don't expect to return. Save your money and stay at a 4 star resort instead. Overall, I was hoping to have one evening in which to celebrate w/o any glitches. Overall, terribly disappointed as I was hoping to have an enjoyable experience.
My wife and I love afternoon tea and had to hit the Phoenician for tea when we were in town. Great service and possibly the best tea we've had. The food they served during tea was also very nice and I liked how they served it, offering seconds for any items we wanted.
The room we had was large and very comfortable. What was most impressive was the staff at the closingproperty. We did encounter a single member who didn't perform well. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The food was consistently very good. The shop area was disappointing in its limited offerings and early closing.
My visit to the Phoenician was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a resort. The service wasn't just excellent, the people who work there are so pleasant and helpful, and treat you as if they love what they do and enjoy people. Far different from the robotic obligatory attention at other places. Everything was sparkling clean. There is plenty to do here, but if you don't feel like doing any of it you can enjoy some coffee or wine on your private balcony. Mine overlooked a natural area. The cactus garden is beautiful, and I enjoyed a wall along the paths on the grounds. There was even a falconer walking around, falcon hooded, to keep crows away from guests and food. The resort is large, it never felt noisy or crowded. There are adult only pools but I did not notice any or many kids. Nighttime was peaceful, no noise to keep me up. The ambience here invited fun relaxation. I will be visiting again soon.
