Rumored to be the pinnacle of luxury 20 years ago. Flash forward to present day and the Phoenician is relegated to offering semi-reasonable nightly rates in an attempt at luring you into a battle of wits whereby they employ ancient torture methods (ie death by a thousands cuts) through blood letting services and charging you exorbitant rates for every incidental fee imaginable. I'm half surprised we weren't billed a fee for accounting services. The facilities are old and the rooms mediocre considering the narrative they're attempting to sell. There's a Disney Land stench to everything you pay for as you realize you're not paying more for a superior product but simply because you're being offered the privilege of being at the Phoenician. They do earn major points for their personal having cultivated a staff that never falters in kindness or exemplary service. You'll definitely enjoy your stay, there are just so many more resorts in the area where you can get more for less. I'd prefer paying more up front and releasing myself from the onslaught of "customer ascension" attempts at making up their profits elsewhere.
