I received my first shirt from Proper Cloth last week, wore it once and promptly ordered another shirt. Very well made, great looking fabric and fits much better (and looks better) then any other shirt I own. Customer service is very easy to deal with and adds personal touches via a letter with the shirt as well as prompt follow up emails. I received multiple comments on it as well, which never hurts.

Amazing customer service and experience. The fit of my first order was way off (mostly my fault) and they were really patient with me and helped talk me through the changes and find my true fit. Just got my remade shirt and the fit is outstanding, the cloth is beautiful and the construction is spot on. Really impressed with Proper Cloth and their customer service team. They're thorough and communicative and strike a good balance between asking/telling when helping you find what's right for you. Looking forward to ordering more great shirts. Heads up to new buyers - only order one shirt on your first order to make sure the fit is right.

Ordering online, I have progressively been able to perfect sizing and details. The control over options is amazing. The quality is superior. It helps to measure carefully and take advantage of the free alterations to your first shirt to get it perfect before ordering more. And know your fabrics- high end fabric takes more care. I would never toss my shirts into a dryer! Pressing is a must, and antiwrinkle additives reduce the life of a shirt. It's a trade for good quality.

I used the online website. I gave them one star because it took a lot of time waiting for the test shirt. The size was so off. They wanted me to launder the shirt and then send it back for adjustments. So even more time waiting for a shirt. I could not justify spending more time to get a shirt. They were good about giving me a refund. I still on planning on getting all my shirts custom made, I am just going to find a place that can get my size right, when I have myself measured, and I tell them I want a slim fit. I do not want it billowing around the waist and sleeves. This isn't the 80's.

Just the greatest place to order shirts. The shirts are outstanding, and the customer service is superb!

These guys are great. Shirts can be customized to within an inch of their life. Great range of fabrics, excellent showroom and terrific ordering process. Am a little bit addicted.

I purchased one shirt from Proper Cloth (the Blue Denim shirt) using a coupon code to give the whole custom-fit thing a shot. I used their smart-size algorithm online. I received the shirt several weeks later and the fit wasn't quite right--too long and rather baggy in the chest. I submitted a request for alterations (free on your first shirt) and dropped the shirt off in-person at the shop. The altered shirt fits like a charm, and now my measurements are perfect for future shirts. 10/10 experience: excellent customer service, fast shipping, great variety of fabrics.

This site has become the first place I go when I want to buy shirts or jackets. Great fabrics and tailored fit that is adapt very well to the shape of my body. In the few occasions that I have had to use to customer service this has been very good and has resolved any problem quickly. I highly recommend this company.

Ridiculously prompt and attentive service. They know their stuff: had a brief consult, tried on some shirts to gauge fabric drape and then was measured. One alteration later I have 3 perfect fits for different occasions.

Bought a shirt from a promo. Really liked it and went back to buy more. the experience is designed terribly. went back to my on line receipt...no way to say "buy more shirts" from that. went to the website...tried to login...no record of me...tried to register..could not register from the landing page that says "register"...called the number...apparently despite pushing their on-line brand, they only answer the phone when the store opens at 10 in NYC.

Customer since 2014. I own more than a dozen of their shirts now, mostly for work but also casual e.g. denim. Stitching has not failed on any of them. It took one shirt when I signed up to get a very good fit and two shirts to dial in the exact measurements. Everything since then is exactly what fits me. I will not buy off the rack shirts anymore; there simply is no reason when made-to-measure looks so good.

Just got a "tweed" flannel---while not as soft as a traditional flannel it makes for a unique and very likeable shirt

best dress shirts I ever bought, and I've bought from a lot of places. Love the custom fit at an off the rack price. Great quality.

Follow the videos and have a friend or family member measure you up. Wash the shirt a few times, wear it awhile, then assess the fit and If you get it wrong the first time they will take one more pass at it free of charge. Pima US cotton fabric Oxford reminiscent of the old time Brooks Brothers button-down rolled collar Oxford.

The Proper Cloth mask is great for two reasons, it keeps my glasses from fogging and it has a headband rather than wrapping around the ears. The fabric is breathable and washable. A great product!

Best shirt I own. Worth the extra money, given I was already paying $80 for my shirts. I don't plan on buying shirts from anywhere else in the near future.

The quality and comfort of the shirts as well as the dedication to customer service is exactly what you want in every company. When first trying to figure out your size, it can be worrisome, however after you find your perfect fit it is very easy to buy more shirts :)

Hands down the best dress shirt I've ever purchased. The custom fit is perfect and I love the option for complimentary tailoring if there is anything wrong.

The most attention to detail you can get in one spot for a shirt. Can be a bit overwhelming but the salesmen are helpful. Go in prepared to buy a shirt, though. It's basically the gentleman's agreement that exists, given the high level of assistance they offer

It's always bothered me that my dress shirts don't fit me well. I figured it was just because I'm tall - too tight across the chest, baggy in the stomach, and sleeves that are always 2" too short.

You won't have this problem with Proper Cloth. Everything is custom, down to the 1/4." You can even add extra space around the cuff for a watch.

I love Proper Cloth. The shirts are awesome, the service is great, and if your body, like mine, is simply more "unique" than many, you will find a great solution with this company.

I'm difficult to fit as most slim cuts aren't slim enough in the waist to match my shoulder width. I'm on my 4th shirt and couldn't be more thrilled. Highly recommend!! Fabric quality is outstanding and easily compares to out of the box shirts costing upwards of $250 but with a custom fit.

After my second order i'm sold! The process and product are top shelf. This is a great concept with flawless execution. A great Brand that I'm quickly coming to love!

Great shirts! The first time I ordered a shirt to try it out I had to send it back and remade due sizing issues. They were easy to work with and took care of the problem. I love my new masks from Proper Cloth. It is super comfortable and durable. I bought three to cycle through weekly when I teach this year. It is a great product!

Proper cloth makes buying custom dress shirts so easy. Their shirts fit just as well as my locally tailored shirts and the first revision is free to make sure it is perfect.

Ordered a few items from here. The quality has always been excellent. The customization can be as detailed as you want and the first order I just picked from their wizard and it fit better than other tailored items I have had. Definitely recommend trying.

I had been looking for shirts that fit - not the baggy extra fabric of pre-made shirts. Proper cloth shirts have fit me perfectly from the very first order. It is easy to provide your measurements and they get it right! I love the shirts, the fit, and the fabric.

Fantastic overall experience. They insist on finding a perfect fit for you and will complementarily recut your shirt until it's perfect. Martel especially went out of his way to improve my experience today, staying after closing with me to pick out fabrics and refine my fit. Could not ask for better.

Be careful with your measurements. I had some problems with my first shirt. The problems were my fault, not Proper Cloth's. After an e-mail and phone call, Proper Cloth updated my measurements and sent a new shirt. The replacement shirt was a perfect. All my dress shirts now come from Proper Cloth. I particularly like the ability to customize the shirt by the collar, pocket or no pocket etc. The fabric descriptions are accurate and the selection is excellent. Proper Cloth keeps you updated on your order even to the point of letting you know when your order ships.

Love the personal customer service provided. The shirt was too tight the first time around, but after sending a couple photos and getting some feedback, the altered/re-made shirt if phenomenal! Will order from again definitely!

Highly recommend. They really take their time to help you get the best fit possible, including great customer service and re-measuring / exchanging shirts (in my experience) if things don't look right.

After hearing about Proper Cloth for what seemed like years and browsing the site I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a few shirts and a pair of fees pants. The process of getting the fit just right was really easy and the customer service was great. I don't know what took me so long but the quality of products, ease of ordering and customer service mean I'm not ordering from anywhere else anymore.

I met with Nick during my appointment and his extensive knowledge on the fabrics and the fit of each was extremely helpful. I walked in with an idea of how I wanted to look and walked out knowing exactly what I want. If you want to improve your presentation, it is more than worth the trip.

Good idea but not PROPERly worked out. The less-iron shirt I ordered was worthless. It needed to be completely ironed (not touched up) wrinkled terribly during the day. The collar and sleeve length shrunk quite significantly. No one answered the telephone on several attempts to call to get help figuring out how to correct the size of the second shirt on hold and no one ever called me back. I have already thrown away the first shirt and have not even received the second one.
These are the worst $100+ shirts I have ever purchased. It is possible the other fabrics are better but I will never find out.

All around great experience - from the impressive website, insane level of customizability, and many price points to the great fit and stellar customer support.

I've purchased 6 shirts from them now and they all fit the same--perfectly! I love the option to make minor tweaks (extra 1/4" on the left cuff for my watch, moved the second button down 1/2" for a more relaxed look with an open collar, french cuffs on any shirt I want, etc.). If you can get to their brick & mortar shop in SoHo for a fitting, do it!

Ordered multiple shirts where I wasn't sure about the size. I did multiple alterations (for free) and the staff was always welcoming and very helpful. The customer service is excellent, and they have me as a client for a while.

No need for the local shirt maker! Proper Cloth is terrific and the shirt fit perfectly for me. During the last year I have lost 54 pounds they have adjusted the fit of my shirts along the way. Love Proper Cloth!!!

Excellent shirt quality for the price. Great fitting and great looking. Easy remake/refit if you don't get the measurements right the first time. They have a wealth of information related to sizing on more aspects of a shirt than I thought existed. I really like that each shirt comes with a sewn in tag with your name on it and high quality metal collar stays. Looking forward to eventually replacing all of my shirts with these babies!

The fit is perfect, the quality of construction is superb, I mean it s such high quality construction and the seams are perfect and the fit is consitent. I just received my 11th and 12th shirt and they all fit identically. I have hundreds of shirts and my PC shirts are my first choice. I have Pink, Stefano Ricci, Brioni, Isaia, and many others as well as other custom shirts. Truly speaking, none compare to my PC shirts. None!

Finally convenience and high quality bespoke shirts are possible. Great selection of fabrics, and the turnaround time is very impressive.

Great company, ordering experience, and products. I have tried several different shirts and fabrics and love them all. They are well made, hold up and travel well, and are high quality. The fabrics offered are fantastic. In my opinion much better than those available at retailers like Brooks Bros.

I have been a customer for a few years now.. I will admit it was not easy to get just the right fit at first. It took a couple of visits and or shirts. But PC has always been great to work with and work hard to make sure I am satisfied with my shirt. I would not go anywhere else.

Great custom shirts at a reasonable price. I was fitted at their showroom in NYC but I think it would be just as easy to measure a shirt you like or have a friend or family member measure you to get a custom shirt made here. Order one first and make sure you get your fit dialed in before ordering more.

Overall experience was great. My first shirt didn't fit properly so I had them remake it (without cost). The whole process was pretty easy. I bought their entry level fabrics, which was not the greatest, but the fit and everything else came out well. I would definitely order from them.

Great experience. First alteration is free so you end up with a perfect-fitting shirt and measurements you can apply to future orders. This is a great service, especially for people who can't buy off-the-rack clothing that fits well.

Updating in Feb of 2020. I only buy shirts from Proper Cloth. You can get the perfect fit and they have literally 100s of fabrics and patterns. And the price is no more than you'd pay for a shirt of similar quality at Nordstrom or Macy's. But it's a custom fit. Shipping i usually pretty fast (about a week or two). I love this company!

Update: Now I've bought 4 more, including a short sleeve. You can completely customize the shirt. First, walk through and properly fill out the web app that determines your custom fit. Don't cheat, no one is judging you. You can then just order a shirt and if you don't like it, return it. They have the guaratee. And the shirts come in nice, simple boxes.

Then, take one of your standard dress shirts and think about what you like and don't like about it. Want a front placket - then note that. Want the neck to be slightly smaller - then note that. And on your next shirt, tinker a bit. Don't get overwhelmed! Just lookd at the shirts you own that you like and only change 1 or 2 things from you Proper Cloth configuration. Then next time, add a pocket. Then the time after that, go with the mother of pearl buttons, e.g. ALL the shirts you order, you'll wear. But you'll get to the place where you will be in SHIRT NIRVANA!!! You'll have your saved customizations, and then you can just choose a fabric. And it takes 3 mins to buy a shirt.

I'm telling you, do it. I'm 6'5" so it's absurd how hard it is to buy shirts off the rack that fit.

They will work with you to find the ideal fit. My shirt was redone a total of 4 times, but now I have the exact perfect fit shirt AND they have the exact measurements to recreate my next perfect shirt.

I ordered the everyday mask from proper cloth. I m male but I ordered the size small because my nose-to-chin measurement is 6 .

Pros:
-Excellent seal to face (prevents safety glasses from fogging while conducting lab work, and most air is passing through the filter)

-stiff center seam keeps fabric off of my mouth even while inhaling

-Over head straps prevent back of ear irritation -Fabric is comfortable and stylish

-Filter pocket keeps filter secure and away from my face -Nose bridge remains securely in place, even while talking for long durations during presentations

Trade offs:

-in order to keep fabric away from my mouth, the mask sticks out from my face farther than most I ve tried

-As a result of the good seal to face and multiple fabric layers the mask does trap some heat and moisture, but only over long durations

I ve tried this mask against disposable surgical masks, outdoor research s mask, athleta s cloth masks, and the Figs mask. This mask is my #1 choice out of the group for long durations and crowded areas. It is the only mask I ve found that creates a secure, respirator-like seal to my face while still maintaining enough comfort to not be distracting. I would recommend this mask to anyone spending extended periods of time around others where social distancing may not always be possible.

I have tried several made to measure shirts. Proper Cloth is by far my favorite. Great fabrics. High quality construction that wears well over time. Nice web experience, although I do wish for an iOS app.

You won t get a custom shirt faster. Plus their customer service is quick, helpful, and I love that changes can be made after receiving and trying on. There was nothing that was painful .

Just try it. It's so easy to get a test shirt and send in pics to find the right size. Trust me, I don't know what a yoke is or what most of the size options mean. I just took a few pictures and told the rep how I wanted it to feel/fit. They handle it very quickly and then save all your specs for the next shirt you want to order. I am a bigger guy and it's impossible to buy anything off rack that will fit the shoulders, yet not look like a baggy trash bag around the waist. I get compliments all the time on the fit of my shirts, and it's all thanks to Proper Cloth.
