I had an eye exam as well as a contact lens fitting and followups with Pro-Eye in Vernon and it was a great experience all around. The new patient paperwork and such was quick and smooth, without a long wait. Dr. Dhillon was very thorough during the exam and the fitting and helpful in answering all my questions about eye health and different contacts. Although I encountered some snags with the insurance company, Brooke was patient and on my side the whole time. There are fewer and fewer examples of great customer service nowadays, but Proeye is on top of their game. I would strongly recommend them to anyone who's looking for an eye care provider, you won't regret it!

I just recently went here and had a great experience with Dr. Watson and his support staff were very friendly but their prices were very high. I didn't realize until after my appointment that they charge a examination fee and a contact lens fitting fee. I've never had to pay an additional fee any other place and because of that I am uncertain that I will be back next year.

Unfortunately I had to rewrite my review again because it was somehow taken down. In my opinion the service at Proeye Vernon is awful, their customer service is terrible. The office Manager Toni is rude and so is Dr. Keith Watson. It s really a shame because the workers are really nice, but they don t have any decision making power and that s the key. I had a billing issue. My appointment was Feb 20, today is March 20th and it has still not been resolved. I made Toni aware of the issue on 2/21, that s right a day after my appointment. Since then I have been getting the run around. To make a long story short I was overcharged and I wanted the difference which is a reasonable request. Since then I have been getting the run around to the point that I called VSP (my insurance) to get them involved. To this day the VSP rep has not been able to get in contact with the office so I called Proeye and demanded the doctor s email since no one was returning my calls. By this point I m pretty frustrated, I emailed the doctor my billing issue and asked what the refund policy is (mind you that they have my money and our glasses). See attachment for the actual email response from the doctor! My question was not answered regarding the refund policy. I was not provided any timing on when my issue would be reviewed or resolved. Today, I gave up and filed a grievance with my insurance company because this place should not be in-network. Note that I have never filed a grievance in my life and I have never wrote a google review. It s that BAD! Life is hard enough, getting glasses should be a cake walk. Unless you enjoy frustration and rude people go elsewhere.
ATTN Dr. Keith Watson: At this point you have called me heartless and everything else except a child of God. I advise you to take this rating for what it is and keep it moving before I seek legal action because you are out of line. This is a public forum. You are a professional in the business of serving others; name calling is a slippery slope so tread carefully. What I have also observed is, all of your comments seem to be the patients fault. Use this real life feedback as incentive to do better!
Brief update 3/22/2018: I have not been provided the money owed to me. The receptionist called me today and said per Keith I can have it if I take down my review and sign a non-disclosure agreement. I can't make this up. The saddest part is, I finally got my glasses and the prescription is wrong, smh. Keith, since you take the time daily to remove my attachment photo of your outrageous email response to me know that I emailed you earlier today about my eye prescription issue. While I have your attention I absolutely will not sign a NDA for money owed to me. Question: What will you be doing to fix both open issues? Why does it have to be confidential for me to get my money? I'll check back tomorrow for a response since clearly you would prefer to come on here daily to take down my attachment rather that resolve my issues...

Generally speaking, I don't like doctor's offices of any sort, but ProEye had a friendly atmosphere, and my tech (Nishe) was terrific. Dr. Watson seemed nice enough, and Toni gave me a very clear and concise explanation of both my frames and lenses.

This is the worst experience in 30 years of going to an eye doctor I would never recommend this place to nobody there service their manager is so rude I would recommend her for anything she should be on garbage detail and they lost my prescription or they couldn't get authorization they are so on professional they have no clue They are the worst I would not recommend them to a blind person doand furthermore we are on six weeks of trying to resolve this issue the office manager has no pool what she's doing so this for she should be terminated because she is not helping this company out I cannot believe the doctors cannot see this she needs to be replaced

Closed for lunch from 12-2, only open 1/2 day on Friday's, not open weekends, must I say anything else?!?! Because of pro eyes' reply, I will now be more specific in this review. I arrived at their location in Vernon with my wife on Wednesday August 15th, at 11:56. Because of my experience at Fashion opticians(see review) my wife wanted to look elsewhere for her pair of glasses. First thing I noticed, is a stop sign after entering the front door saying that you cannot proceed past that point without talking to the receptionist. The receptionist at the time was on the phone, and even though we was standing in front of her, she never even looked at us or acknowledge we were there. After she hung up the phone, approximately 3 minutes later, I was told that we could look around but there is no one who could show us any glasses for 2 hours because everyone goes to lunch from 12 to 2. As we looked around the selection of glasses, I realized that the receptionist was correct, there is absolutely nobody but her in the facility for two hours. Between that, the half day on Friday's, and not being open weekends is why you deserve my review of one star.

BTW You are only my 3rd review EVER!!! Just because you are a terribly run business and are obviously offended by my review, don't portray me to be someone who gives tons of bad reviews! Anyone can see from all your other 1 star reviews that you are not business friendly.

Dr.Watson and Toni at the front desk are very professional and thorough. Most of the time I am brought right in and have quality time during my exam. They have state of the art equipment and a large selection of frames. Thank you for taking care of my eye care needs!

ProEye staff are all very professional, very personable. I have never had any issues with making/canceling/changing appointments. The wait time to be seen are always within 5 minutes of your scheduled appointment. They are conveniently located so its not a horrible drive for the Coventry area or the Manchester area. They have a lot of technology available in their office and cover a full range of testing. I have been a patient for over 10 years. My husband and I are both patients and I have 2 adult children who also prefer ProEye for their eye exams. I would recommend ProEye to anyone looking for a good doctor and a good exam.

Everyone was very nice, but I felt like I was at a school not a real office .Each person did not know how to work different machines and asked another coworker how to work it.I had to keep going from one room to another ,and the technician would call another one to help on how to set up the machine. The doctor was nice but I think his staff needs more training.Ive NEVER been to a eye doctor for close to 3 hours, and I had to cancel my other appt because it was sooo long. When I got my glasses they were bifocals,no one in the office said I was getting bifocals.so I had to have them sent back, after 2 weeks.waiting for my glasses. I needed them because I drive a long distance and now I have to wait 2 more weeks..I m very disappointed.

You must visit this office if you live around. One of the most convenient visits to doctor offices ever. Everything was smooth and organized. When it comes to my health I do not care to be in office as long as my doctor wants to take his/her time. Dr. Watson seems to be very professional and cool and that is enough for me. The assistant was very helpful, knowledgeable and curious which gives you an even better experience.

Was thrilled, but not any more...A few years ago I decided to change from a chain vision center to a more personal (non-chain) optometrist. Due to the reviews and proximity, I chose ProEye. Our experience with Dr. Dhillon-McDermott and the staff was wonderful. Dr. McDermott was extremely thorough and identified an issue in the back of my eye that was most likely present for years, but never diagnosed. After her referral to a specialist, Dr. McDermott explained the growth as benign, but should be carefully watched each year for changes in size and proximity to my optic nerve.

Unfortunately, Dr. McDermott left Proeye in 2015. Having never seen Dr. Watson, I kept my 2016 appointment with Proeye. It was a big disappointment. The appointment was exceedingly long (over 2 hours, much of the time was spent waiting for Dr. Watson). Additionally, I had to remind the staff to do the additional test to take pictures of the back of my right eye.

When Dr. Watson did finally arrive in the room, he spent very little time and was quite gruff when I posed any questions. Additionally, he never examined the pictures of the back of my eye. I needed to remind him as he was making haste out of the room. He did come back and look at the pictures, but never compared them to my last pictures from 2015. When I asked if he was going to do the comparison, he told me it was not necessary and left the room.

I have since tracked down Dr. Dhillon McDermott and am pleased to be seeing her shortly.

P.S. I am quite shocked at some of the unprofessional responses from Proeye (e.g., "rip us a new one"). Just some advice to the respondent(s) from Proeye, you may want to change your level of professionalism when replying to your reviews. If I were shopping for a vision center, the unprofessional responses from your office alone would turn me away.

I've been a customer here for at least 2 years, never had a problem with the staff or the Doctor. Toni has been extreamy helpful considering I'm not able to make a regular schedule due to the fact I'm a truck driver and she always goes out her way to fit me in especially on short notice. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

By far the best eye exam I ever had, this doctor and staff are amazing. Dr. Watson is very knowledgeable and cares for each patient and their issues. The techs run you through your testing and explain everything they are doing and why they are doing it. The exam is lengthy, but is so worth it, especially since my past eye doctor just cared about my glasses prescription and not the health. Which Dr. Watson found and resolved my vision is so much clearer. The office manager Toni will pick out the best frame that fits you personally and your needs. I recommend this office to everyone I know. Keep up the great work, Proeye!!!

Always caring and professional. Dr. Watson is warm and patient. Never would even consider going anywhere else. Update: I had an issue with my bill and was very frustrated. Michelle called me after hours to answer my questions and made me feel like she really cared and was there to help. Kudos!

Dr. Watson has been my optometrist for close to 7 years now and I cannot stress how personable he and the staff are. Whenever I come in, (which is fairly often,) I am always greeted with a smile from the front desk. The wait time is always very minimal and I am often in and out of my appointments within the hour. I should also mention that they do call ahead a few days in advance, 2 if I recall, to remind you of any upcoming appointments. I am a very busy person and so I appreciate these a lot. I absolutely love coming here!! 5/5 stars, no complaints!

If I could, I would give this place zero stars! Every time I walk into this place there is nothing but unwelcoming/negative vibes spewing from the ladies at the front desk! Not only do they have a sign that states STOP don t go beyond this point until you speak to the receptionist, they don t even say hello until you stand at the window for more then 10 mins! When you finally get someone to acknowledge you standing infront of them they speak to you in a belittling tone and give off the vibe as to how dare you disrupt my doing nothing . All this and they haven t even helped me with my glasses needs! I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone...do yourself a favor and find some place else!

A very welcoming office, you can tell they really care about patients and their experience. Shakima and Kevin were so helpful and Dr. Watson explained things very well. They even stayed late in the office to complete my appointment. Toni was extremely patient and helpful with fitting my glasses and made me feel confident in my pick!

Dr Watson.

Dr Watson.
This seems to be the only way to get your attention. Please call me ASAP regarding my husbands account. Your billing department is a joke. On going since 2017... 2 years. Your office staff absolutely knows how to get in touch with us at this point.

Just had my yearly exam with Dr Watson today. Last year was my first experience with Proeye and I was very pleased so continued with Proeye this year. While in what I call yhe testing room (a room off the waiting area where the technicians conduct several different tests on patients' eyes) Dr Watson came in holding a small item and asked a technician "what does that say?" Then he said "it says down. please tell all the staff again" and walks out. Please keep in mind there were 3 patients and 3 techs in this room at the time who all clearly heard/saw everything.
First and foremost, how amazingly unprofessional!! Correcting anything with staff should be done in private and with respect! It is humilating & embarrassing for any employee to be corrected infront of a customer and no employee should be subjected to that work environment...besides how uncomfortable it makes the customer feel to witness that! Not sure if Dr Watson feels superior over females, as it was a female only tech staff, or what the issue is, but he clearly needs classes in how to properly interact with his employees!! Made the appt for next year to get out of the office but doubtful it will be kept.
Update: Proeye's response to this public review speaks volumes. I shared facts, not threw out accusations, and they come back with "don't test the doctor". My freedom of speech is well protected. I am definitely permitted to speak the truth as it happened, good or bad, and that is what I did. Instead of coming bacl out and attacking a patient for reporting honestly on their visit maybe you should regroup and see how to improve so it doesn't happen again.

I was recommended to Pro Eye by a friend for the little one's eye needs. Staff is friendly, VERY patient and super accommodating. Special nod to Toni for her caring and understanding about the little one and the glasses that work best for his "active" lifestyle! :-)

Okay practice, Dr Watson is a good doctor. BUT, an absolute nightmare to deal with from the billing end of thing. They billed the wrong insurance company first and sent me a bill for several hundred dollars. I called twice and emailed once about how the wrong insurance company was billed and asked if they could reinvoice the correct insurance company. Each time they said yes, and promised a follow up. Not once did I receive a follow up, my insurance company claims that they never received the bill. I ended up just paying it out of pocket because of how much of a pain this has become. I will not be returning.

This place us an absolute joke. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. All this "Dr" wants to do is run up the bill. He knows what he is doing. Will have you coming back week after week running the same tests over and over. Scam scam scam....shame shame shame. Ever since the only good Dr left and went to Avon this place is a joke. Can't wait for the snarky response from UNproeye.

Edit:

LOL look at the review below mine. Dr Scam Watson's reply starts with what is important to him. $$$$$ #1 we dont make money off your insurance. Quickly followed up by we do it as a courtesy because we make money!!!! What an absolute joke! Beware everyone before you go to proeye because if they can't make money off of you you may as well piss off.

Very poor service. I went in for a standard presentation update and new glasses. They ran one of the many tests on me three different times for a total of 30 minutes for the one test, only to find out that they hadn t adjusted it to fit me. I was there for over 3 hours! Every time I called to pick up by glasses, they said they were busy and would call me back. They never would. I was getting fed up so I stopped in multiple times but they were always on lunch or break so they would not help me. So finally after about the 8th time and 3rd time stopping in, I was able to pick up my glasses. I m definitely not planning on doing anymore business with them.

After reading the stellar reviews of this facility and navigating the website, I was impressed at what I observed. Unfortunately, this is where the positive review ends.

I made a call Monday, 08/13/18 for an appointment and was immediately placed on hold. I waited three minutes before I spoke with someone and inquired whether or not this facility was accepting new patients. I was told they were indeed accepting new patients, but I was once again told I would need to be put on a brief hold so that the office assistant could schedule an appointment. I waited nearly 5 minutes on hold and finally I decided it was time to hang up.

One would think if a new patient was inquiring about an appointment, one would receive a sense of respect to at least make the new patient feel as if one was a priority, but not apparently at this facility. If Pro Eye can t handle a phone call, I can t imagine how the services I require would be conducted. I ll be taking my business elsewhere. I highly suggest Dr. Watson look into his office assistants work ethic, especially when it pertains to new patients.

Women at front desk are as equally rude and unprofessional as Dr. Watson. Bickering between each other in front of clients and saying sarcastic remarks. The last time I came in to pick out a pair of glasses one women we to the back to bring the samples out she came out will a box full of glasses another women asked what insurance I had and walked over to the women with the box before she coming over to show me, she then turned and came back with 5 pairs saying they only had these and to come back in 6 months when they would have more. No thank you.

Cannot reply back to comment so I am editing this one.
If you look at the negative reviews and the replies from the owner on those reviews you will see the exact unprofessional that many people are commenting about.

I visited the office in February and ordered prescription frames. I let them know that I was only in town for a few weeks and if they can rush the order. They assured me that they could take care of it. Long story short, they didn t send the order until 3 weeks later. (A week later after I called to check on the status the first time.)
I had to call my provider to find out what was going on because they never called me back as promised.

My wife and I had an excellent experience with our first eye exam at Pro-Eye Associates. The staff and doctors were professional, friendly, honest and forthcoming. The exam was thorough and comfortable; a big change from our previous encounters with other establishments. When the exam was done, Brooke kept the office open late helping us shop for new glasses. I have never had such a great experience with any medical establishment, let alone an optometrists' office. Thank you so much for everything, and we'll be sure to recommend your services to everyone.

I saw the optometrist for less than 10 minutes. He barely spoke to me, but he seemed OK, didn't really bother me. The techs clearly have no idea what HIPAA is because one came up to me as I was checking out and informed me that one of my tests was actually abnormal and I should start taking some vitamins that they are selling... right in front of other patients.

UPDATE: I can't "respond" to your reply so I am just editing my post to reply.
#1 - I didn't have any questions.
#2 - You say I didn't have any medical issues but evidently I did because you forgot to tell me and your staff person had to tell me in the lobby as I was walking out.
#3 - I left angry because your staff discussed my medical information in the lobby in front of other patients and staff. AKA breaking HIPAA. I guess you're not concerned .
#4 - Despite vitamins being a $30 billion industry in the US there really is no evidence that they do anything for disease prevention, not related to nutritional deficiencies. I may only be a nurse practitioner and not a big fancy doctor but I read JAMA.. So you can keep your vitamins.
Please train your staff on patient privacy. Make patients feel human. Do not attack them online if they give you a bad review.

I like to have my eyes checked periodically so I take very good care of this issue because it is very important to me. I chose Proeye because over there I found the medical care that I need. I want a doctor who is thorough and pays attention to my needs, measures my eye pressure and checks my retinas and then my prescriptions. I want to try a lot till I choose the right frames for my face. At Proeye I found really cool frames and a wide selection because I am picky. And I got an appointment really fast which was a bonus. Loved them and I will definitely go back.

I spent 2 hours getting testing done, only for Dr. Watson to waltz in, tell the tech off, click a few buttons on the computer to "fix" my prescription, and leave. He said my prescription would be fine and that the tech was wasting her time trying to perfect it.
Fast forward two weeks, and I see worse using my new glasses than I do without them on.

The techs and other staff were all amazing and deserve five stars, but I've never had a more disappointing interaction with a doctor before.

Take your business else where, First you get looked at by a "tech" which is a very young inexperienced kid. Second the Doc comes in and looks at you for about 30 seconds and offers you one of their lines they get paid to offer. Lastly, all they want is money. They have no interest in your best interest. Trust me.

Was a patient of proeye until about 2 years ago I was in for an appointment and just changed insurance companies, I asked upfront how much it was going to cost out of pocket and was told $100 at the end of the appointment when I was ready to pay, the receptionist said that I could not pay at this time and that they would send me a bill. About 3 month later they send me a bill for $387. I have contacted them several times in attempt to resolve this bill at a reasonable price with no success. I have received several other bills from this appointment with at least 4 different balances ranging from $318 to $387. It is clear that they dont have a complete understanding of their own billing system. About 4 months ago I decide to just pay the bill even though they greatly misrepresented the cost upfront I sent a check for the balance. About 2 months ago I am still receiving bills so I contacted them to ask if they received the payment which had not yet cleared in my account. They said they would look for it and call me back if they did not receive it. I never heard anything back until today when I received a very rudely written letter from them threatening to take me to Court and charge a bunch of extra fees, I plan cancel my check and stop by this week to pay the balance off, myself and family will never go back to proeye and I ask that anyone who reads this review to consider going elsewhere for services.

Please disable your automated appointment confirmation if you are no longer seeing patients. I received an email last week to confirm my appointment and then a text message today again confirming my appointment for this afternoon only to find out the parking lot roped off. When i called your number is when i found out you are no longer seeing patients. No if i could only get back the couple hours I took off from work.

Up until this point i have been someone happy with the care i have received. I will be canceling all future appointments. Regardless if the system tries to confirm them again!

My first time was a little overwhelming, because of the several tests they do. But that's always a good thing, so I am not gonna complain about that. Besides, they are all incredibly nice people and they do a thorough job. Just met Dr.Watson once and he is a respectful person. The office is clean and the installations are clean, new and modern. They have a wide selection of glasses for women at reasonable prices, but the selection for men is pretty lame.

ProEye was very attentive to my special eyes. The staff made me feel very welcomed & comfortable throughout my exam. The Optical staff assisted me in finding the perfect frames. I look Marvelous. The service was so great that the next week I brought my daughter in for care. She loves all the frames they have to pick from. She also related very well to the staff & was not uncomfortable with anyone there. As a family I will be only seeing the doctors at ProEye for all our eye care needs.

Both times that I have made contact with this office were unprofessional experiences. This morning, I explained my situation, was placed on hold to see what help could be done. After waiting 30 minutes (no exaggeration) someone asked what they could do. I explained to them my situation, again. They explained that they were unsure if they could help could I please wait while they found out. I asked why I had been placed on hold for thirty minutes, that's what they said before. The woman answered, "Well we have been very busy answering phones." She put me on hold again when another woman came on the line and stated that she was taking over for the previous person, please explain for the third time. Unfortunately, my first appointment with this office was not any better with the doctor scolding the clinician who was trying her best.

I would give this place 0 star if I could. I called this place 4 times. Every time I was put on hold and then I was told to be called back, but I never received a call back. Today was the worst experience I have ever had during my 27 years of life. They collected all my personal information including SSN (I was put on hold as usual), then they said they needed some time and would call me back in a few minutes. But they never did. During the phone call the lady was rude by saying that You are not listening to my question , which I actually did listen to. She asked me to check with my insurance about something I am very sure of and was not willing to continue if I don t give calls to my insurance. ?????? If proeye does not want any new patients, proeye should be straight about it, rather than fooling patients around and wasting their time on making stupid phone calls with rude front desk.

Seriously, I have never seen a front desk so unreliable. Avoid it at all cost. They are terrible.

The staff at Proeye is unprofessional- First annoyance was that I was in the office for over an hour and 1/2 for a routine eye exam. I won't comment about the exam- but I'll just say that it was basic at best. Oh- and the receptionist forgot to give me back my license and insurance card, so I had to go back to pick it up. No apologies on their part- apparently it was MY fault for forgetting to ask for it.
Even more frustrating- it took over 3 days with me following up for a estimate on my eyeglasses. Seemingly just to make me even more irritated with this office- the quote for my eyeglasses was more than doubled from last year with the same insurance and no change on the upgrades. After I asked for my RX to be emailed following the estimate- Guess what? No email, and I even checked the spam folder (which at this point. I figured it would end up in) . Yeah... my advice is to skip Proeye.
