NOT GOOD ENOUGH
We have not received any of our pieces yet but are excited for them to arrive. Our experience on Princess with the staff of the gallery was extremely pleasant, the staff are very knowledgeable about the artwork and artist. The staff enjoyed sharing their knowledge with us and were very helpful in helping us pick the pieces that we would enjoy, they are skilled in learning what we like and guiding us in the right direction in picking pieces that would complement each other. I am hopeful that the next time we are on a cruise that the same staff would be with us, even though I know that is most likely not going to happen. I want to thank everyone who assisted Lynn and I and wish you a successful and happy life!
The Client Services Representative, Kerri Connelly, was most helpful in communicating with me about my art purchase and delivery. She was extremely professional and reassured me that all was well with my purchase. It arrived today perfectly packed for shipping, and was in superior museum quality condition and framing. Kerri is a great representative for Park West and I hope to purchase from them again based on her outstanding client service.
The knowledge of the art gallery staff was impressive! The art auctions themselves were entertaining and, of course, the art was breathtaking. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because of the art staff sent out $50 credits to be used on anything, but when it came time to use it on my purchase they said it didn't apply. After weeks of dealing with the corporate headquarters, customer service made it right and gave me the $50 credit I was entitled to. Lesson is beware of the credits offered at the auction and keep the paperwork in case you need proof.
This was my first cruise and my first experience with an Art auction. It was wonderful!!!! Vera,Derrick and D walked me through the whole process. They were patient, kind, understanding, and very professional!! They knew the art and artist! I never knew how to appreciate it. All 3 helped to show me the story behind the art. Park West is very fortunate to have the 3 wonderful individuals.!!
A great company to deal with, always helpful and customer oriented...
This is the first time I purchased art on a cruise line. I am very please with the painting I purchased and love how it looks in my home. I am disappointed in the service and empty promises I was given after the purchase. I decided to carry my piece off of the ship for a discounted price, rather than ship the artwork home. I received the frame that was on display and was told it would be touched up (just a couple scuffs in the paint) before wrapped for my departure. It was not. I was told their staff are experts at packing artwork for travel on a plane and it would be packaged appropriately as a carry on item complete with a handle to carry it. It was not. The handle tore off before I exited the ship and the padding was so minimal there was no way I could trust it to the rigors of an airplane. Of course, all this came to my attention on the morning of disembarkation and there was no one available at their on-board office to remedy the situation before I left the ship. Thankfully, I had time to take a taxi to a UPS store near the airport for proper packaging and I was able to safely hand carry the piece home. I can't imagine what the condition would have been if I wouldn't have had the time or resources to get it packaged.
If you decide to carry your artwork off the ship I advise you to pick it up in advance to make sure it is packed properly and ready to go and it is in the condition they promise it to be.
My wife and I just purchased an art collection on our cruise aboard Carnival Vista (Sep 7-14) and we re excited about the investment in our grandchildren s future. It took 2 hours to complete the transaction and we noticed later there was a piece left off the invoice. We purchased a lot that was supposed to include a smaller piece of Matt Beyrer work we even selected and it was left off the invoice. Andrei Danalache was the art director than ran the auction. The piece of Matt s we purchased was The Coming Day but I do not know name of other piece because it was left off the invoice but I have a photo I took along with all pieces we purchased. I left an email with PWG and a FB message. Please contact me to straighten this out. That was part of a set we were excited to obtain. Many blessings, Randy
Meeting the artists was great. Only reason no 5 stars for dinner was too late.
We were on a 21 day cruise. I purchased art 2 weeks in a row. I had purchased by the sane artist both times jn a grouping. I was assured by the salesman that there were not any duplicates. I called 3 days after we returned home and I had checked my receipts. I had found there were duplicates. I was told tgat my name was not in the system yet and they had to wait 2 weeks after our return to be in the system. 2 days before I was supposed to call I received a text from fed ex that I was to receive my painting the next day. I called and was told that all of my art work had already been sent out. With the outrageous amounts they charge for the shipping, handling, and fed ex charges not refundable, since the artwork had already been sent out. Think this is probably a frequent scam of theres. Dont order from them.
The art I purchased on a cruise arrived quickly and in great shape.
I always enjoy viewing the selection of art you have on cruise ships.
i have been having a problem for the last few months, now parkwest wont reply to any on my emails, be very carefull of this company, if i only knew then what i know now. once they have your money they dont bother with you, also be sure you take pictures of any art, as this may not be what you bought, i thought pirates at sea was long gone, but not with parkwest, the things they get away with at auctions is crime and they are scammers,
i will make it my lifes work to challange any company that try's to rip me off, so people please please be carefull when dealing with this company,
I have had nothing but fabulous experiences with Park West on 2 Royal Caribbean cruises and at an invited auction. All of my art work arrived as promised and on time. All of the personnel have been courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful in decision making . I have no regrets and only wish for more wall space!
Until I attended my first auction on my very first cruise, I did not even consider collecting art. Now that I have had this educational and fun experience, I may consider a new hobby.
Very knowledgeable staff on the cruise. The seminars were very educational and the auctions were fun. The shipping of purchases was quick and the matting and framing was perfect. I look forward to attending future art activities sponsored by Park West.
First time invite to a Park West event when we're not on a cruise. First class treatment from everyone at the event. We were introduced to many new artists as well as guest appearances from Romero Britto and more! Great opportunity to expand your art knowledge and more.
Always such gracious hosts at ALL events. Always makes sure everything in every order is PERFECT! No questions asked, couldn't ask for more. We love the art, have had opportunities to meet the artists and the auctioneers (especially Jordan) are absolutely amazing. Don't miss out, Park West made me realize what an art lovers we really are!
All the staff were warm and friendly. They recognized me when i was away from their place and always smiled and spoke. They were always quick wit a response to a question or inquiry.
First time watching auction on a cruise ship. Was fun & exciting. I also purchased an art piece.
Well we don't know art, aren't really collectors, but we know what we like, and have some pieces we've picked up while vacationing/cruising and displayed or hung around the house. We like a bargain and if we can get something cheap that we like, we get it. The people are nice, helpful, knowledgeable, and not condescending. What more could you ask?
Our Auction experiences on Island Princess from 9th April to 1st May 2019, were the very best we've ever had the pleasure of attending. They were fun and informative and as a result we purchased multiple pieces. The Art Auctioneer Donald and his staff were stellar and it was their enthusiasm, knowledge and expertise that made attendance a must for us.
Our artworks have begun arriving ahead of schedule and what we have received so far has arrived in perfect condition due to the amazing care with which they were packed.
We could not have been more pleased with this experience and happily post this five star rating.
We had our first experience with Park West aboard ship. It was an enriching experience.
My partner and I recently added to our collection while aboard the Regal Princess. The Park West Gallery team was beyond helpful, and very generous during our time on the ship. We d like to give a special thank you to Roxanne for putting together an amazing deal for us!
If was fun and a pleasure to go to the auction and do business with park west gallery
A pleasure to deal with your company once again. my collection is looking awesome. can't wait until my new art arrives :-)
We love every piece of art work we have purchased from Park West Gallery! The associates we have worked with are very knowledgeable.
A pleasantly enjoyable experience with Park West while on the Royal Caribbean "Anthem of the Seas" cruise ship. The gallery was quite exquisite, and the art auction where we purchased our new piece of art was exciting and memorable. The staff were very helpful and kind, our painting arrived after only approximately 6 weeks, and we very much look forward to our next purchase from Park West.
Such a cool little gallery tucked away in the Detroit burbs. Beautiful artwork!
This is I believe the 3rd or 4th time purchasing from Park West Gallery aboard the cruise ships. I've been able to purchase some wonderful pieces that are one of a kinds, sets, etc. The personnel working the Art Gallery department and for Park West have always been top notch. I look forward to receiving the recent piece I purchased of a Peter Max.
I had so much fun and will do it again. Everyone was kind and fun.
Definitely helps you to discover artists that you like and discover some you don't. Very interesting gallery.
I bought 2 Thomas Kinkade canvas s on last cruise 5/25/2018 and when I got off the cruise called the company to verify my order and was told I was getting a cheaper version than told on cruise and not the size I was promised! I was told I was getting the last 28x42 canvas s. To find out he ordered me the 18x27 pieces which are even smaller than what was on the cruise even! Now that I want to cancel cause I was lied to and bait and switched they want me to pay 15% fee even tho nothing has been shipped or processed yet! Also prices are half as much to buy direct from artist! I m filling claim with B.B. and my credit card company!
I find the onboard auctions fun & informative. Always happy to participate. Purchase & shipping efficient and quick.
We bought a piece of art on our RCL cruise on October 16, 2018. Still waiting for it to arrive. Called customer service but no one picks up the phone. Our advice: don't buy any art from this company on a cruise ship.
Just received the three pieces we ordered. Could not be happier , BEAUTIFUL !!! Great quality! Already looking forward to future purchases.
Just returned from my cruise on Holland America 5/22. When I purchased my litho, I was informed the item would be shipped via UPS, BUT PW or UPS would contact me by phone so I could be home to receive the item. Well, imagine my surprise when I got home today to find a large cylindrical container propped up next to my front door! I never received a call or even an e-mail notification of impending delivery. If I was incorrectly advised about procedures, please inform your staff of the current UPS operations. But if I should have gotten prior notification, please make sure you work with your shippers so they can deliver better service.
My experience was great except that my husband and I were told that we would not receive the Light House picture for six months because it had to be commission before we would receive it. We received it December 13, 2019 less than two weeks after we got home. We even said that six months was fine. I was very disappointed.
My husband and I had an amazing time while learning about many new artists and bidding on art for ourselves. The Park West team was incredibly knowledgeable and made purchasing art fun.
The experience was fine. We have purchased from the gallery before and found it to be trust worthy, accurate in its statements, and ethical in that they do what they say they will do. As is always the case, art is a matter of individual taste, and tastes do change. Thus, purchasers/clients will vary in their opinions; however, the gallery performs and does what it says it will do and the choice of works seems to be appropriate for the audience it serves.
Our dealings with Park West went sour when their client services department took five months, and countless emails, to rectify an incorrectly sent artwork that we purchased aboard a Celebrity cruise.
All the good work, by the sales professionals, was unfortunately undone by the tardy approach of their client services team.
Hence we would not recommend, or deal with, Park West again.
I have really enjoy collecting with Park West. I started on a cruise ship a few years ago and then collected more at a land event. The staff is very knowledgeable. They have a wide range of artwork for all types of collectors.
My wife and I purchased art while on the NCL Breakaway cruise ship. The entire Park West team was kind, courteous, and very attentive to us. We were able to ask questions and not feel pressured into our decisions. We enjoyed the entire process and appreciate dealing with Park West.
Purchased Four Painting while ona Thanksgiving Cruise from Baltyto the Bahamas...Still waiting for three of the paintings....
Purchased art and paid up front for the piece on a cruise ship. Art was suppose to be delivered between 8 to 12 weeks. It has now been 16 weeks and the gallery is claiming that the art has not been received from the artist. Why would you auction and sale pieces you do not have in stock? This should have at least been explained when the art was being auctioned off. When called the first time to check on the status of the artwork was told it was being prepared for framing. When I called the second time I was told a different story. I do not think it is fair that you have to pay for something in advance if it is not ready to be sent to you. Maybe a commissioned piece of art from the artist directly? I would not trust this company. They change their story every time you call customer service and are not truthful. Buyers Beware!
The staff helped me decide which pieces were right for me. They were delivered quickly and in excellent condition. They did not pressure me into buying something that I didn t need or couldn t afford. It was a great experience.
magnificent place, great accommodations, great food, great artists, great and inspiring stories and presentations.
Park West does it right, classy, friendly and fun. Bravo!!!
I had a really fun time collecting art on my cruise with Park West. People like Sizwe made the experience a great time, and the champagne wasn't a bad thing either. I have 3/4 of the works I won at home already and I am anxiously waiting for the Kinkade I got.
I wish I could have opportunities locally to go to Park West auctions, but I know if I take another cruise I will be in attendance to scope out any works that I want to my add to my small collection.
The art experts were all very nice, it was a fun experience, there are works for all different price ranges, and it didn't really feel like I was being pushed into anything. Thank you Park West.
We attended the Art Auction onboard the Carnival Sunshine. It was alot of fun and informational. The artworks were just beautiful and all the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Went to a showing while on a cruise. Only 1 item I marked as being interested in was actually shown. Bid and won print for $60. When I went to "check out" later that evening they had one computer and only 1 person to run it so they had us wait in a back room with a bunch of paintings they hadn't sold and proceeded to try to talk us into buying those. Finally, got my turn to check out and I was told repeatedly that if I attempted to carry my art off the ship it would "ruin the print". When I told the woman multiple times that I would get the print framed upon my return home, she continually told me how expensive that would be, that the print would be ruined if framed by someone else, and how I would basically void all the print quality guarantees they offered if I didn't opt for their framing service. I spent over 30 minutes going back and forth with the person until finally I caved and paid for their framing & shipping so I could leave and get on with my life. My $60 print ended up costing me over $400. I will NEVER make the mistake of attending one of these events again.
Everything we bought on Harmony of the Seas came as promised and are beautiful.
Very knowledgable staff and excellent programing for the cruise I was on. Attend my first art auction! A great plus was the art channel on the ships TV. I got to know more about the artist that they were showcasing.
Very professional and informed me of all my options. My husband and I are very pleased with the art we collected recently.
Loved working with Simon, Alex and Cooper on our trip to Alaska. Thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures and talking with them.. First time for us to get acquainted with Park West Bought some paintings and waiting on them to arrive.
The staff at Park West Gallery are very professional and have advanced knowledge on each art piece. In addition, they provide background of the artist and his/her specific style. Park West Gallery provides appraisal service and easy delivery options. Highly recommend.
It was a weird experience. I don t think I d ever do this kind of thing again. They were a little pushy on some things. I also paid $35 for a shipping tube that didn t happen...it was instead put in a box between two pieces of acid free foam core. That is perfectly acceptable BUT DON T CHARGE ME $35 FOR A SHIPPING TUBE I NEVER GOT.
I purchased three paintings on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship freedom of the seas at the end of November 2016, and was helped I am excellent art employee of Park West Raymond Lich. Getting the Art work to me we've had a number of problems, with the framing, and back-and-forth calling, Mr Rodney Lee stepped in walked me through the process of the framing step by step so I know what I'm ordering, and not only make me feel good about my purchase, and also confidence in Park West. My sincere thank you for your time Mr. Lee and Park West
On a cruise to Mexico my husband and I purchased three different pieces of art, one of them was a Thomas Kinkade. We were very happy when our first two pieces arrived, they were even more beautiful than when we purchased them! When our Thomas Kinkade arrived, although very well packed, the frame had a big chip in it. I immediately called Park West Gallery and they immediately sent a new frame at no cost to me! Unfortunately our Thomas Kinkade did not FIT in the second frame! I couldn't believe it! Now I'm annoyed....I called Park West AGAIN ready for a fight but to my very pleasant surprise Kristopher P. was an immediate help! He was professional, apologetic (even thought it wasn't his fault) and very assuring that he would work to fix everything and make everything right. He sent out a THIRD frame at no cost and it was a perfect and beautiful fit! Kristopher and Park West Gallery are very professional and will work unbelievably hard to keep their customers happy. I recommend Park West Gallery highly for any of your artwork!
You won't regret it!
Veronica
I attended a VIP cruise in May 2017 and purchased several pieces of artwork. I paid for all with a check that was cleared by my bank in 5 days. After 2 monthes with no word from Park West i called and was told that there was a hold on my account and that accounting would call me back. Accounting never called but the customer service guy called back and said the hold was beacause my check didnt clear. I told him i had my bank statement and that it had cleared. Then he told me there was a problem with the art. the story changed again and i was told the hold had been removed and they would expedite my art. Still havent heard anything and NO OPOLOGY!!!
Park West is a terrible company with customer service to match. I strongly encourage you to read reviews of company and dissatisfaction before purchasing any artwork.
Free Ultra plush Art Museum featuring a large number of galleries with famous artists Works-- Originals with informative plaques on the wall about the artist in his or her work. Unfortunately the lower level was being used to train salespeople for art auctions on ships, at least it sounded that way and we couldn't get to see any of the art down there.
Great experience! We love our Art! All the process went easy and successful! We recommend Park West Gallery. Their representatives are very patient and hepfull! We got our art pieces faster than we expected.
I bought my paintings on the Celebrity Equinox during my cruise and it was a great experience with everyone involved in the presentation, buying and delivering of my purchase.
I love Park West! From friendly and knowledgeable staff to beautiful pieces of art work, you can't go wrong with Park West!
I was introduced to Park West on board a cruise ship. I found some art that I purchased for another person. I soon found out they did not care for an embellished print. So I contacted the PW agents on board. No help. All sales are final on board, but they had a 40/40 guarantee. You don't like it in 40 days it can be returned. Okay, I decided to call customer assistance and cancel the order, since the art work I ordered was not readily available and would take approximately 8-12 weeks to receive. I called them two days after returning to port. While on the phone I waited.... And waited..... And waited some more. Twenty four minutes and still waiting. Had to go in the house, so I left a return message per the looped recording's message. It advised I would be contacted in one business day. Two days go by and nothing. On the third day I called back. Another 20 minutes on the phone and nothing. I left another message. And two days later I received a voicemail from a restricted number. I called back and again waited for 16 minutes, but finally spoke to a representative. I explained the situation and he said he understood and yes I was within the return period. He advised he would cancel the order. He went on to state I would be charged 15% of the cost as described in my purchase. Well I didn't see that anywhere. Must be super fine print because I looked at the small print and saw nothing concerning order cancellation charges.
Very upset with the experience post sale. The amount of time spent on the phone and the sudden advisement of charges because I cancelled. Not to mention the near impossibility if contacting the company. That is unless you want to buy something.
Will not purchase from this company based on this experience. Felt as if there was too much hidden from the customer.
I purchased 3 works during a recent cruise. The whole process was a lot of fun, especially the live auctions. The team were knowledgeable and helpful. The choice of art was remarkable, including some original works from household names. The art was delivered very quickly after disembarking the ship. The frames were top quality and the packing excellent. I would certainly recommend Park West and the team on the Liberty of the Seas led by Slavio.
The experience at the auction was wonderful everything since has been brutal. I recieved the wrong art and have recieved unresponsive to non-existent customer service since. Numerous emails and phonecalls and no closer to resolution. I have never had worse customer service from any company in any field.
Artwork arrived in a timely manner. I was notified of the time and date and it was promptly delivered.
The artwork itself was well packaged and absolutely beautiful. The frame is lovely and it is hung on the wall
I would highly recommend Park West Gallery.
I really enjoy attending the Park West Galleries cruise ship auctions and informational seminars. They are always fun and informative.
The Park West's employees have always treated me well and provided me with professional service (before, during, and after the auctions/sales). I feel that if you do your homework, you can get some really beautiful artwork at a good deal.
I absolutely loved the Park West gallery. They had a lot of different artists with impressive collections. Definitely a great place if you are an art fanatic and passing through Southfield.
Great company to work with. They met all of our needs.
Great service. Great products. Very knowledgeable people.
Wade was a wonderful GD on board the Majesty of the Seas! And his fiancee, Shannon, was lovely. Had a great experience and looking forward to starting my collection.
Lodging 5 star. Meeting and interacting with the artists was amazing. Auctions fun and entertaining. Learned more than I ever imagained.
Great experience and opportunity to learn about the artist, their work and the value of the works of art for sale at an incredible price.
These guys are great. Art came so much faster than expected. Professionally packaged and beautiful.
My Experience with Park West has been amazing. Went to their VIP event in Santa Barbara and it was wonderful. Getting to meet with the Artist's personally was very exciting.
They are always very professional and accommodating. Great customer service.
We got more beautiful art to hang in our home. So much fun.
Great buying experience. No pressure, great selection and good value.
Each and every shipment we are facing serious trouble with. Now again shipments got stuck at customs. Shipment before was damaged seriously due to poor packaging and handling during shipment. With shipment two years ago we still had trouble with custom's office 6 months after the artwork was delivered. Park West do not care at all, a shame.
Shipping and framing agreements done with ParkWest are simply not held. Internal communication between sales, framing and shipping departments do not exist, externally with FedEx communication is very poor. We spent hours every shipment - and we mean EVERY - with talking to both ParkWest and FedEx to manage deliveries. Unbelievable in 21st century.
Our latest shipments were damaged just again. We returned the shipments in June and are still waiting for full refund today in November. Dealing with Park West after sales is a shocking experience, so different from the glamour on the cruise ships.
It was very likely our last order with Park West. Be careful with your interactions.
Very good experience. The staff was very personable and knowledgeable. We will do more purchases in the future.
Great experience!! Staff very informative and engaging. Was told it may take 12 weeks to receive my artwork and received much sooner. The company emailed updates to me regarding framing and when my artwork was on its way. Staff did not make me feel rushed and explained everything to me regarding the Artist and different mediums used. I would certainly buy art from this company again.
I want to go on another cruise to purchase some of the more beautiful art work and learn more about the artists. It was the highlight of our trip. Because we are trying to close on a house, unfortunately, we were unable to buy pieces that we fell in love with. Hopefully next time we travel. But at the moment we are pleased with what we could purchase.
Worst customer service ever. After having a blast at the auction (last New Year's) we purchased over 10K of fabulous art. We then literally waited months while it trickled in. One piece came with the wrong frame, but we just kept it since it took so long. One big piece has never arrived. We have called numerous times only to be told it is still "being processed." Not a word by letter, phone, or e-mail, but plenty of brochures about their credit card and Summer Sale. We just want our painting as promised!!
Great selection and affordable prices. No matter what you buy your artwork is shipped to you as if it is the most expensive art.
All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. They answered all my questions and my art works were delivered on time in a very short period and perfectly packed.
I love my experience with Park West.
Carl
What a sham! Carnival Cruise Line, you should be ashamed of allowing Park West on your ships and taking advantage of your guests. I won't do business with either of these companies.
Parkwest art is beatiful and collectible. Their personnel was very helpful and knowledgeable, also very friendly. They made our 1st art auction fun and helped us learn about the art collecting world. Thanks to the personnel on Carnival Freedom. Framing was awesome too!
So far my experience has been great. I still have a painting that has not arrived. The one I have is beautiful.
We like the art we purchased 20 years ago at an auction on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. But for anyone who thinks this is an investment, do a lot of homework before you buy. We spent over $20,000 and none of it is worth anywhere near what we purchased it for. Big mistake.
I loved dealing with this company. Everyone was so polite and nice and went out of their way to accommodate me. I love the art I bought. I ve hung it up and can t stop looking at it. It brings me great joy. They are very professional and easy to deal with. I highly recommend using this company.
The folks I dealt with were great. Answered all questions and explained everything I needed to know. Cant wait for another cruse !
I am well pleased with my Thomas kinkade paintings the colors blend excellent with the room decor.
They arrived sooner than i expected.
Every Auction is a fun experience. The artwork will satisfy diverse tastes and there is no pressure to buy. Curators make every attempt to enrich your experience and ease of purchasing a piece of fine art. Now with the electronic gallery more artwork is available to purchase even if the specific piece isn't available on the ship during ones cruise. The 50-50-50 policy actually creates an atmosphere of total freedom to enrich one's art collection... Not to mention the Park West Gold Card opportunities, Take it from me, an avid collector, Park West makes it easy to own and show the finest of available collectables at prices most can afford.
Notice all the 4/5 reviews are given while still on the cruise.
I hope more people come update their reviews as many of them still dont have their artwork like me or Customer Service just wont pick up the phone.
I read all the reviews since January and 90% are 1 star and some of them are updated reviews of people who purchased art, then either didn't receive it, came damaged, wrong frame or an empty box.
Now I might feel bad (a little) if Mark has to down size his 9k sf Mansion in one of his 4 homes if PWG doesn't make of through Covid.
Man, only if their Customer service team was using management software like Saleforce or Zendesk like my my company uses which would allow them the freedom to work from home and still be managed remotely via case management. VoIP would still be an option as well for call routing ext.
It seems like there is 0 customer service or Joan (Dir of CS) is just stretched so thin that there is not enough space to fit everyone in their call center 6 ft apart. I wonder with sweet but crazy 2 faced Mary decided to retire early?
You can guess that I have called them a few times!!!
1 star from me folks!
The entire experience I had with Park West Gallery, starting with the wonderful employees on the Carnival Valor to receiving the artwork, has been FABULOUS!!!
I have been on many cruises and attended many seminars. I can't begin to say how impressed I was with the workers on the Valor.
Also, the artwork arrived well packaged and timely. The art and frames were exactly as I purchased and in excellent condition.
There are great pieces and collections. Also a great place to learn much about artists and collections.
