Brenda Stephens Review of Park West Gallery
This is the first time I purchased art on a cruise...
This is the first time I purchased art on a cruise line. I am very please with the painting I purchased and love how it looks in my home. I am disappointed in the service and empty promises I was given after the purchase. I decided to carry my piece off of the ship for a discounted price, rather than ship the artwork home. I received the frame that was on display and was told it would be touched up (just a couple scuffs in the paint) before wrapped for my departure. It was not. I was told their staff are experts at packing artwork for travel on a plane and it would be packaged appropriately as a carry on item complete with a handle to carry it. It was not. The handle tore off before I exited the ship and the padding was so minimal there was no way I could trust it to the rigors of an airplane. Of course, all this came to my attention on the morning of disembarkation and there was no one available at their on-board office to remedy the situation before I left the ship. Thankfully, I had time to take a taxi to a UPS store near the airport for proper packaging and I was able to safely hand carry the piece home. I can't imagine what the condition would have been if I wouldn't have had the time or resources to get it packaged.
If you decide to carry your artwork off the ship I advise you to pick it up in advance to make sure it is packed properly and ready to go and it is in the condition they promise it to be.
