Park West Gallery Review

We had great experience attending the art presentations and auctions on our recent cruise. The presentations were informative and fun. The staff was wonderful, professional, and helpful.

We were very impressed with our auctioneer on the RC cruise we went on, Mr. Chesray Meyer. He seemed very knowledgeable and was very helpful. We purchased two works of art that we were very happy with. Having purchased from Park West before, I had no reservations about doing so again. We were told that the art would arrive about 12 weeks after we arrived home, but were delighted when most of it arrived in two weeks.
I would also like to commend the whole auctioning staff for going beyond the call of duty. I injured my leg on the cruise and after the last auction we went to, one of the Park west personnel accompanied me to the ship's physician, and although it was after hours, made sure that I was seen. This company really cares about its customers, and goes out of its way to show it. I will definitely purchase more art from them on my next cruise.

My wife and I are newly inspired art collectors and have been introduced into art through a park west auction on a cruise ship last year. We purchased our first art work and we were hooked we Recently just completed another cruise and we added other artists to our collection as well as additional art work. You can collect without pressure. enjoy your pieces of art at home. once you purchase them , the delivery is planned according to the schedule that is provided at the delivery site. i a great experience to have art in your life. Enjoy the masterpieces of many different artiest but you will always fall in love with more than one.

PWG seems like a decent company. The workers onboard the cruise ship seem very persistent in getting you alot of art. They are good at sales which I'm sure is what the company wants. The artwork we received was exactly what we wanted. Some of the artists are small names in which we never heard of them but their work is good.

Every time we get to meet a new artist, I am so excited to purchase their art. At every art auction on land, cruise, or VIP event, I have learned so much about the artists, the types of works, the history around the art works and why I truly enjoy the art I purchase for our home and my family. Some of the artists I have met include Peter Max, Dominic Pangborn, Agam, Glenn, DeForest, Marko, Yankee, Rut, Duaiv, Csaba and LeFcort. Meeting the older artist Agam in Miami and his short lecture about his art - no idols - as well as young artists as Autumn DeForest and her work done for the Vatican has been highlights of my life. Traveling to Germany and seeing Durar s Home, visiting Max s studio in New York, Rembrandt museum, Rut s studio and home, and just sitting and talking with these artists (especially Pangborn - what a man!) Meeting Albert And Mitsie Scalione and Morris Shapiro in Detroit and at auctions helps me appreciate the authenticity of my purchase. Donna Morrison, a great reference for us, as well as Luke and John - historian, and auctioneer cannot be forgotten
I collect the masters as well - Durar, Dali, Rembrandt - and others - Mouly, Krasyansky, Tarkay, Britto, Bull, LeKinff, Coleman, Guyton, and Steynovitz.
The people and representatives of Park West are very informative and knowledgeable. They make me feel like a museum expert and teach me about techniques, using different media, colors, shapes, and maybe meanings. I can truly say that my experiences with Park West have helped me be a more informed, educated art lover. Music and Art are the universal language. Chris Makar

Went to a Park West VIP event in Seattle at the Four Seasons downtown. Every single person who was involved in the event were absolutely superb! I've done 3 PW cruises, so this was the first VIP event and I was just floored at how smoothly things went.

Met some wonderful new friends (as I have on all of my PW Cruises) and of course, Jason Betteridge and his entire auction crew. It was friendly, personable, exciting. energetic and a jam packed, fun filled 4 days.

We picked up a few very nice pieces, and my kiddo (Sierra) and I, met and connected with several of the artists as well. Turns out, quite by accident, that the two of us were talked about by a lot of the staff, based on our auctioning AND the type/style of questions that Sierra put out there. Many other auctioneers were very impressed her questions, which, in turn, enabled us to meet and make even MORE new friends!!

While Michael Godard could not be there, he did send a nice video, which we reciprocated back with all our love and best wishes; we were treated to David LeBatard (LeBo), both of whom I'd met on a Greek Isles cruise in 2016 and a new, up & coming young artist, Michael Romero...as well as another featured artist, Ashton Howard. All stunning in their displays of works.

All of the artists were very attentive, accessible and answered questions, interacted with the audience and just, in general, made the entire 4 days totally worthwhile. We got a little bit of back story with each artist, which enhanced the interest with their work.

I'm always pleasantly surprised by the type of art and artists that I'm drawn to and extremely pleased at what I've been able to purchase. The Park West experience is genuinely a fabulous and fun time. As well, having it at the Four Seasons, with their remarkable staff, I can't say enough great things about it all.

Left a message for Parkwest was told would receive a call the next day waited a week had to call them back. Bad customers service. They also have a problem with the credit card company that use after I made two payments in one month they said I had a late payment for that month I don't see how that is possible perhaps there people in India or turkey or wherever in the world are at need to learn how to calculate correctly Parkwest was absolutely zero use in resolving the issue I will not purchase from them again until they find a company that is professional and ethical if they speak English that would also be a plus. Hope they can work it out

I added some amazing pieces of art to my collection and I believe at a very fair price! Our very first Peter Max was bought at a Park West auction over 15 years ago. I have received most of the pieces by Fed Ex already. They are beautifully framed and am happy to get my appraisals and certificates for my files.

Was recently at a Park West function @ The Henry in Detroit. We had a great time & were able to purchase art introduced by the actual artists. Dominic Pangborn, Peter Max & Autumn De Forest were amazing. We now have a picture of ourselves with the Artist & the piece of art. It does take some time to receive the paintings, but that was okay with us due to the fact you do not have to pay for it till it is received. Will definitely go to Park West for our future art purchases.

We had a great time with wonderful people & the accomodations & food were awesome as usual. The artists & auctioneers were really fun & very informative & interesting. Thank you for such a terrific weekend. Bob & Joyce Noland.

We had so much fun at the Galveston show at the Hotel Galvez. The accommodations were excellent and the food was delicious. Can't wait for another one!

Great Collection of master... Has absolutely Picasso ceramic sculpture and painting. Ancient painting which ever seen before.

Bought my first picture through Park West Galleries and it was first class all the way! Beautiful picture that I get many remarks on. It was shipped to my house and that too was done with the customer in mind, carefully packed and shipped. Thank you!

Everyone was nice and informative. I experienced my first art auction on the Pride of America Ship in Hawaii. Won a bid on an art work and also won a piece of artwork. Learned how to store the artworks from the Park West Collector magazine, volume 3. Thank you for the positive experience.

If only this scale went into negative numbers. We got bamboozled on a cruise like many on here. I have taken our appraisals to certified art dealers and they actually laughed out loud at what we paid for the art, as well as how much PWG had them appraised at! For all you satisfied 4 and 5 star customers, you haven't looked very hard if you think you are getting a great deal and great service. I only hope folks on cruises read this and take head before they get caught up in the excitement of an auction onboard. Google your artist and the art pieces you are looking to buy, you likely can find them on eBay a heck of a lot cheaper.

I am so pleased with my art purchase. All the Park West Gallery staff I worked with were friendly and very knowledgable.

We had a great time with the Art Director Tiaan Douglas and his team on the Ruby Princess. We fell in love with one original art piece, but ended up buying six more pieces.

I have always enjoyed Park West Gallery and their customer service. The company on a whole is quite AMAZING. Christy Ghanem, is one of the supervisors that I have had the pleasure to work with over a year now as I travel a great deal on Princess Cruise lines, where I purchase the art. She is VERY ATTENTIVE and provides EXCELLENT customer service.

I wish I would have known about Park West sooner. I'm so glad I visited the art gallery on Norwegian Epic where I bought a lovely painting for my mom as her birthday gift. My mom loves the painting, and I intend on collecting more pieces through Park West in the future.

We ve been buying art from park west on various cruise lines for about 15 years and never had a bad experience - always fun going to the auctions and the art looks beautiful in our home.

This is a wonderful experience with excellent art education. The venue was beyond remarkable. I felt like a queen. The art that was shown covered the cost spectrum. I learned so much about art, styles and the artist. A truly phenomenal weekend.

The Artwork is exceptional! We have previously purchased art from Park West Gallery and took a long time to recieve art. However this time not only was the Artwork exceptional it arrived 3weeks after purchase. Super satisfied.

My first and only experience so far with Park West Gallery was aboard Carnival cruise. A painting displayed on the ship caught my eye. No, I'm not an art collector. In fact, I've never thought I would ever be an art collector as I find spending money on art a very frivolous thing. BUT, I was on vacation. I was relaxed and happy. I guess anyone could say that I am the exact type of individual that Park West is hoping to run into -- a novice with no knowledge of art. To this I say, "SO WHAT?!" I saw a painting and I loved it. I saw other paintings by the same artist and they spoke to me. We researched the artist and his story convinced us even more that we should buy his paintings. I became smitten and I've NEVER been smitten by art in my entire life. After some negotiation, I ended up buying three paintings from the artist and I was given a framed lithograph by the same artist free. All four items arrived at my house well within the three month period. The order was placed on October 1 and the last painting arrived today, December 14. They were all beautifully framed and in perfect condition. I cannot wait to hang these in my home. They will bring me a lot of joy.

So far so good. I've purchased a piece that came in defective. Left a voicemail during non-business hours and promptly received a call back. The gentlemen on the phone was very professional and courteous. Scheduled a pickup and I will wait for repair or replacement within the next few weeks. So far customer service has been exceptional. Will update after as well. 4 star because the item came in damaged.

Made my first major art purchase while cruising aboard the Carnival Splendor. Didi and her team were great! Had a blast at all the art events and was very happy with the whole experience.

Not happy with the sales pressure. I felt forced to purchase art at the "by Invitation only event" and for the first time ever I purchased a painting for more than its value!! Better experiences while attending the art event on the Royal Caribbean ships.

I always look for the Park Gallery on all my cruises, and this one was really great. I enjoyed talking to everyone and they were all very knowledgeable. I was able to purchase another Thomas Kinkade to add to my collection. Looking forward to one day being able to get a Peter Max and Chris Derubeis.

Not my first time with Park West Gallery. My home is an extension of their art since 2008, when I purchased several pieces of art on Royal Caribbean Cruises. Next opportunity to attend another auction in December 2019. Can't wait!!

By far the worst customer service that I have ever received. Park West Gallery can not even do the simple tasks of shipping correct art. I have been waiting 7 months for 2 pieces and I have yet to receive anything. This will be the only time I enter into any purchase with them and I will speak very negatively of them to all that I meet.

I enjoyed this event a great deal. It felt like it was well planned, including the dinner out to Santa Barbara. Dave, as usual was tremendously informative. The associates were helpful, but not pushy. The venue was amazing. I d happily attend another auction there, anytime. Sincerely; Lou Whitlock

My husband and I enjoyed the entire event. It was a great gathering. The friendly staff and wonderful patrons were Fabulous. The meals were delicious, as well. We discovered great artists and their works. It is always an education to spend time with Park West's artists, staff and Patrons. We had a fabulous time at the Ritz Carlton. Thanks for the opportunity to visit, learn and have a great time.

I purchased a 'regular' painting while onboard a cruise ship. At my appointment for payment, I felt like a small town crook. Know that couple prior to me was paying for @$80K and my art was just $60.

They sell you expensive posters or art made by mainly unknown artists. They will give you an inflated appraisal (which is nothing but a letter of opinion). Check on eBay how many people are unsuccessfully trying to recouped their hard earned money. I fell for it but hopefully you will not.

Some good experiences - but we have been waiting for the correct art to arrive to us. The wrong one was sent to us and we contacted you and we sent the picture back but you still have not sent us the correct art. It has been a year and we are still waiting.

I purchased a painting in January of 2017 while on a cruise. At the time of purchase I was informed that the piece I purchased would be reframed with a new frame and shipped to me within 2 months. I was pleasantly surprised with how quick I received my art as it only took 1 month. But when I opened my shipment it was a different production of the piece I purchased. Yes, it was the "same" production from the artist but it was not the one I viewed and purchased on the ship. Though I believe the piece I received is beautiful the piece I actually purchased was different and had different accent colors. I am disappointed as this sale was completely misrepresented to me and the piece was sold falsely. My purchase was based on the production I viewed while on the cruise not the production someone else randomly choose while finalizing my order. Knowing now that I cannot expect to receive the exact piece I purchase I will be hesitant to purchase from PWG again...

I very much enjoyed my tour of the new Park West Museum. I had been there in the past when it was still a gallery. Had the opportunity to meet Mr Albert Scaglione who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The tour was part of a VIP event. And I always enjoy those.

I had never attended an art auction before but chose to go to one on a recent NCL cruise out of Venice. The auctioneer was such a vivacious, knowledgeable women who made the auction so much fun. All the staff were endlessly helpful & friendly. I bought a picture & was given another 2 pictures which I have given to family. So much fun that I went back the next day & was thrilled to get a small version of a John Lennon picture for my boyfriend, a total Beatles freak! Also, another free picture!
I have received all of the pictures except the Beatles one. I m not sure whether I should be worried as yet as I was told pictures would arrive in 6-12 weeks and 4 arrived within 2 weeks. I m trying to be patient and optimistic.
In any case, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the lovely art gallery staff & the auction.

Sent them a PM on Facebook - I received a response twice advising I would be contacted.... that was 10 days ago.

I understand we are in a pandemic although this is disgraceful.
