My husband and I stayed here for my first trip to NYC. The hotel itself was nice. The rooms were small but really clean and the bed was comfortable. They only have a couple of elevators to use on either side of the building. They can be somewhat slow at times but we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for one. My one biggest complaint is that the staff could be a little friendlier. They weren t exactly rude, but their responses were clipped and the tone of voice just sounded like they did not want to help. The men were actually friendlier than the women. We talked to one guy behind the desk and he was just the seeetest person. Overall I would definitely stay here again on another trip though! The location is fantastic. Just a walk from Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Radio City, and a bunch of other landmarks! I had the best time for my first trip to the city!!

Our stay was excellent. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our needs. The rooms are well-kept. The view of Central Park is quite breathtaking. Food was also very good. The fitness center had the right amount of equipment. Only con was that it was quite pricey but hey, we re in New York.

Hotel is beautiful and conveniently located in the city. They were super accommodating in letting us check in early and store our bags after check in. Rooms were large and very clean. Only complaint was that the thermostat in the room didn't really seem to do anything. It was a little cold and turning up the tempature didn't change the air temp. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again if I was in the city and spending time in that area.

Park Central Hotel is a very good establishment. It is in a great location, right off of Central Park, and has incredibly helpful hotel staff always willing to help you. I would visit again.

Have stayed here a number of times. The last time in July is my last time. During my stay when I needed assistance the front desk person was rude and not responsive. In addition after leaving I called to check on an item in lost and found and was promised a call back that never came. There are lots of hotels in New York. This will not be one I choose going forward.

There are a few pros and way more cons to this hotel. Don't book through a third party provider or you will be surprised with all the added cost and the hotel does not treat you the same when you do that. Its almost like they despise you because you didn't book through them. Strange.... On arrival to the hotel, we were told that they didn't have a room for us (although we had reservations with several confirmations) so that was the first long delay. Parking was 75$ a day although we were originally told that it would be 30$ so this was another long delay. During our stay we were probably were issued 6-8 different room keys because they would not work which is frustrating when you wait for the elevator, get to your room and then your key does not work. And to make matters worse the staff behind the desk never said we apologize or anything for the room key screw ups. The only pros to this hotel is that the housekeeping and bellmen are very nice but thats it. And Im not saying that because they do their job well, they are just NICE. The rooms are small and somewhat clean but most hotels are small in Manhattan anyways unless you spend upwards of 500$ a night. If you stay at this hotel expect some rude service from the lobby staff and Im not sure if its because of the NY way of things but well never stay here or any other Park Central EVER again.

Great location just blocks from Central Park and Times Square. Lots of restaurants, pubs and eateries nearby. The room is clean and nicely updated. The lobby and lounge are inviting.

Wake up to a fresh $70 Bill for no reason, or pay for your breakfast. If you're looking to be watched by the business men 20 feet from your window, you might enjoy putting on a free show for them. Your welcome into this hotel doesn't exist so don't think about it.

Location it's great but the staff are not helpful at all. They want $75 for valet parking but they don't tell you that you can park yourself and pay only $50. I booked a room with 2 queen bed and City view (paid more money) but we had double beds and building view.

Stayed here for Thanksgiving 2018. Great hotel. Location is perfect for the Macy's parade, right across the street from Carnegie Hall, and convenient to Central Park, Times Square, Bryant Park, etc.

For NYC, the rooms are large and the bathroom was huge. It was pretty quiet for such a busy part of the city. No problems with check-in. There is a nice bar/lounge behind the lobby.

Compared to other hotels in the area, this was a great value. We will definitely look here again on our next trip.

The Park Central is a gem! This hotel gives the classic NYC vibe of elegance both outside as well as inside. Because of these days of pandemic there wasn't much open in the way of amenities but the staff is friendly, very professional, and helpful.
Our room was cozy, comfortable and classy. I admit there were a few selfies taken in that fabulous bathroom. All of this paired with the location close to both Central Park and Times Square makes for an experience to be remembered.

I am giving Park Central two stars because the head of housekeeping was the only person who offered to help when my coat was stolen. To be honest, what they told me could have been lies to begin with. I left my coat in the closet in my room and after leaving called an hour later to ask someone to retrieve it for me. Supposedly it was retrieved and then conveniently "lost." Park Central reimbursed me for the lost coat, but even a cheap $30 H&M coat may have a lot of sentimental value to someone, like this coat did to me. Left SF with bad feelings, I wouldn't mind never returning. I hope that at least my coat ended up with one of the many homeless people in the city. It was probably sold off by some petty housekeeping thief though.

Very nice location. Regular small sized NYC hotel room, narrow hallway leading upto our room which seemed even smaller while pushing a BOB stroller. Decor was very pretty. Bed and pillows very comfortable, HOWEVER could NOT sleep because the temperature in the room could not be controlled and it was too warm. The AC/heat vent sounded like an old motor about to break. I called maintenance after my 3 year old daughter woke up because she was also uncomfortable. I was informed that since it s an old building it runs on a 2 pipe system so either the AC is on or the Heat but NOT both; hence, you cannot control the temperature in your room. I did ask for a fan and they were able to accommodate me. But now it s nearing 4 am and we are all wide awake.

It s now 8:47 and room service came 5 minusyes ago to try to clean the room! They knocked, as my husband was going to the door they tried to Open the door.

I very much appreciate the efforts and efficiency of all your hotel staff during my stay. If I have the opportunity to travel again in the near future, I will certainly get in touch with your hotel. Keep up the good service!

Not sure if it's due to racism, when the staff gave me the cards, the room number on the two cards are different. She told us to go to 17th floor when we should be in 15th floor
Great room but could improve by including a hairdryer

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for the week. The location was terrific, right between Times Square and Central Park. There is a subway station nearby that allows for easy travel to key sights near the city. The hotel is clean and the service was great! I absolutely love this city!

Park Central was a great location and value. Very nicely decorated and trendy with a comfortable common area, lounge, and bar. The staff was accomodating and everything went smooth. Rooms were small to average but modern and beds comfortable. Good overall value

Where to begin. Just getting up the elevator is a major challenge. The doors close before you can get in and you have to call another, which is not the next to come. You have to wait for the one going to your floor... it took me 35 minutes to go to the lobby and back up this morning. The lobby was so crowded that even getting around was frankly frightening. Watching the Macy's parade was less pushy.

No amenities; no coffee maker, no wired internet (installed and active, just disconnected from router so you have to pay $15 (per device!) for wireless), nothing but a bed, TV and dirty desk. Expensive to leave your bags in storage with a 20 minute line to get them out.

The room carpet is crusty and I was afraid to walk on it. Old furniture with stains and scratches, wires hanging out from where old modem lines had been ripped out. There was a 2 cm gap under our door so you can hear everything going on out in the hall. On the bright side the Security guy who broke into the room across the hall at midnight did prove to demonstrate how easy it would be to get into a room even with the safety latch on. He was not impressed when I opened our door and when I asked who he was got angry and threatening. Poor show.

The room faced a central courtyard which was dark even at noon. No cell service in the interior rooms as too deep in concrete.

The location is good, but NOT a luxury Hotel (the rooms, service and amenities are far better at a Super 8) nor could one stay here for any extended length.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! This trip was a short 2 night stay. The main reason why I selected this hotel, was due to the "special package" that included the $75 (per night) valet charge. I was moving my daughter (a college student in NYC) from her residence hall into her first apartment in Brooklyn. During the check-in process (after a 5 hour drive...checked-in at 9:30pm), I informed the front desk that my SUV was packed with my daughters belongings and confirmed that it would not be an issue to retrieve my car in the morning. They confirmed this would not be an issue. Well it became a HUGE issue during the check-out process and charged me $75 for valet. The man assisting me was extremely rude and told me to "be quiet" while he was talking. I then asked to speak with his manager, who happened to be standing there and witnessed everything. His manager began assisting me and informed her staff member that she will take it from here. He started reprimanding his manager, speaking over us both and refused to walk away. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again!

Best hotel we ve ever stayed in while in NYC!! Location can t be beat. Close to the park and away from the craziness of Time Square but you can be there in a short walk if you want.

Great quiet room and very attentive staff.

Highly recommend!!!

Lively placement. Really close to central park and a short cab ride to most places. The elivator is a bit small. The in house restaurant is lively as well as the bar area. Great local beer available(Brooklyn lager).

No free breakfast. Front desk service was poor. Manager treated us like every other customer- with an automated response to our problems. Not a great place with genuine people. Wouldn't return to stay in San Francisco because of the experience.

This hotel is good enough to stay near Central Park. It's quite old and some rooms could be very noisy at night. Be prepared to be charged an extra $30 per day for obligatory "amenities".

The location was amazing but the service wasn't so great. I don't know if it was an off night for them, but when we got there, the room we had paid for and reserved was given to someone else. After a 10 minute wait the only options were to rooms with smaller beds, essentially downgrading us. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but I still payed for the previous room no discounts or upgrades were offered. I would still book here because of location though, but definitely check out other options near there if cheaper.

The location is perfect!!! The room is beautiful and the little extras are great. But... I have to say the door man Carmello made our experience at this hotel an A++. I don't know what the hotel pays him but he NEEDS a raise.

Great customer service! We actually never stayed with you guys due to COVID 19 and our boarded closed.
Emailed the hotel to inquire about a possible refund and noted today on my cc one was given.
We honestly thought their was no hope!

Thank You so much!

Excellent location. Clean rooms, although furniture orientation makes room feel very tight. Beautifully updated for a modern experience. For the most part the staff has been friendly. Very pleased.

I actually cannot believe how angry I am writing this. All morning I have not been able to sleep because of the constant sound of people outside my door doing very loud construction to the building. I understand they need to paint the walls or whatever, but I cannot see the sense in doing very loud work in the morning when most guests are still asleep. Sleeping has been a bit of a problem the whole trip as well since the walls are so thin we can hear people coughing in the next room. It also sounds like the windows are open because we can hear every conversation on the street. I would only recommend staying here if you re a very deep sleeper or possibly cannot hear very well. Otherwise stay away if you want to get any sleep.

We were unaware that they were going to charge us an amenity fee, not revealed when we purchased our Groupon. Read about it and it's a scam that a nber of NYC hotels follow. It was a nice stay, but it was very tarnished by this fee.

Rundown rooms and interior. The carpet in the rooms and hallways is rundown and filthy. The room was so hot, we were advised by maintenance to open the window to cool it down because the air conditioning did not work. The concierge and customer service is horrible. Called several times, no one answered. Left messages, no one returned our calls, except the one time for maintenance. Waited in line for nearly 20 minutes to check bags after checking out, while only one employee was handling bag check. Manager behind the check-in counter looking at the computer monitor ignoring the long line for the duration of our wait. Completely ignoring the situation. No bellman outside of the premises to help flag down a cab, or help load/unload baggage. We ordered 4 soda beverages in the lounge. They were served in small plastic cups for a total cost of $25.00! Very, very dissatisfied with our 3 night stay to the tune of over $700/night! Park Central Hotel needs to clean up their act.

The location is the best. The room 1042 is horrible , mattress was super soft and damage to the point that you can rolldown, the entrance rug was smelling so bad.Since we traveled with a baby and a toddler and a 2 day stayed we decided to just stay , but when I complained about it they just say ..I am sorry..nothing else.Beside of the location I think I could not come recomended

Very convenient location. The overall friendliness...

Very convenient location. The overall friendliness and warmness of staff could be improved, though no one was outright rude to me. The room was spacious and clean.

Little things that could be improved:
The lights indicating which floor has been selected in the elevator would burn out and not be replaced. Another guest had to explain to me, and I in turn had to tell that to other guests. No notice was ever posted to explain that the button was working, just that the light wasn't.

House keeping was very, very inconsistent with what they would do. Sometimes I got a bunch of towels, sometimes I got no face/hand towels. Heck, even sometimes my cash tips would be ignored one day and then would be taken the next day. But the room was always kept clean otherwise.

Emailed the hotel prior to my visit to make a small request about our rooms. Never got a confirmation email, much less a reply. At least acknowledge that you got the email! (I definitely saw the "thank you for your message" screen after submitting it via the website. But after that, nothing.)

We stayed at this hotel last week and couldn t have wished for a better place or location. The room was clean, spacious, and had a great city view! The location was perfect, in the easy walking district to many attractions, sights, and transport links. The hotel staff is always considerate and professional. I would stay here again next visit.

Hotel is ok. Could pass for a typical big chain hotel. Minus vending machines, ice, or any in room literature what so ever. Steer clear of their "Central Market" for breakfast unless you want to wake up to having a cranky bitchy cashier throw your food at you and charge you twice what you could pay for a pleasant wake up at the Starbucks next door. Cushion about an extra 10 minutes waiting for an elevator down to the lobby. You may see 5 elevators next to each other on your floor, but only 2 will get you there.

The facility itself was very clean and the staff were always on point to tend to guests and customers. Professional enviormnet. I noticed that the bathrooms for men's had toilet paper on the floor but I'm sure a janitor was already en route to take care of it. Drinks were over priced but what do you expect? It's nyc lol

Nice hotel. We had a few small issues i.e the safe not working and we didn't have a 'do not disturb' sign. Not major things but we reported them and the sign took a while to come and the safe was never fixed, so we locked our stuff in the suitcase in the end! We also asked the staff for some help with getting to a football game and three different staff members could not help us in any way.
However, we used the hotel bar which had a very nice setting. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The guys out the front of the hotel helping to get taxis were very helpful.

The room is decent. The hotel is decent. The staff (front desk , matredie) are the absolute worse. Rude, non helpful, liars. Do not stay here if you expect smiling faces and helpfull staff. We called the front desk for basic service and got disconnected some how , twice. They claimed to have left messages for us, they lied. We will never stay here again. The third call was longer and more rude. After complaing my wife had to go down to the lobby because in the front desk words "if thats what you wanna do". On the plus side the locale is perfect for hopping a train. And if you are looking for work while you play on your phone apply here its acceptable.

Great location and real estate property, close to lots of must-see landmarks and atractions. The decor is ok, but the place is kind of weird as some of the elevators doors are not available at some floors, not your guest-friendly floor plan. Towels are not top of the line and carpets are smelly. I'm not sure the price per night it's a good value.

Its a great location , but overall they need to improve the experience a guest has while staying in the hotel. 10 minutes after checking , staff barged into my room and after seeing me in there rushed out apologetically. They don't have coffee makers, when I asked for it it showed up an hour later. They key didn't work during my first night stay, and when I went down to get it fixed I had to get in a line and show an id to get the issue fixed. The staff was totally unapologetic and seemed like they do it all the time for guests.
Finally an hour before checkout time staff member wearing scrubs made me open my door and asked "you are checking out right?".
Well yes I am maam, I made the reservation and I know when to show myself out.

If you are here, please lock and bolt your doors.

I was very disappointed with our stay. The place was under renovation. Understandably, there is expected inconveniences, but I don't think the management made much of an effort to minimize the inconveniences for the guests. The usual large lobby area was closed due to the renovation. Guests had to check in at a small make shift lobby area. Because of the small area, it was constantly packed with tired travelers, suitcases, and generally an unkempt appearance. The elevator around the corner usually had a terrible smell (not sure where that was coming from). The bed was rather lumpy and soft. The room was small. The ice machine did not work at our floor. The air conditioner was too high, even at the lowest level. There was no other way to adjust the temperature. Lastly, because of the location of the new lobby area, it was impossible to get a taxi. Our bell person tried but was unable to flag down a taxi for us. We ended up walking down the block to get to a better location for a taxi, but was still unsuccessful. We missed dinner and had to find another place. Thank goodness for Quick Ride and All Pro ride services the next day when we needed to get some place in a timely manner.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This hotel has some things going for it but the way they treat their customers is unbelievable. Lobby amenities are filthy. Didn t get in to my room by the 4pm guarantee. They tack on a$35 resort fee for no tangible benefit. No sit down meals in the hotel and no other benefit to justify the charge. Door locks are tricky at best and broken at worst. False fire arms going off in the middle of the night with no staff support. Management totally unresponsive and support staff bordering on hostile. Terrible culture. Stay away from this hotel. There are better values in NY.
