Excellent location for sight seeing, friendly staff, and clean rooms.
We took a cocktail mixing class at the hotel bar. Fantastic experience!
Not as posh as it seems, but decent accommodations and fair pricing considering where it is.
I visited a friend at the hotel. It is centrally located and right next to a Subway station. The rooms are slightly smaller than I would expect but overall, good.
They surely contributed to a great first stay in New York city! The staff was soooo friendly, rooms are clean and cosy. Location was very well
Perfectly located between central park and time's square, friendly staff but be aware that you have to pay an addition fee at check out for gym and other things even if you didn't use them
Very clean, very tidy. A nice reliable place to hang your hat in the city
A very nice hotel in a decent spot within Manhattan within walking distance of Central Park and Times Square. A metro station is just around the corner too. Nice gym with decent equipment. I would definitely return here. Only downside is that New Yorkers love to blast their horns...over and over again which isn't ideal when it's 6am. Not the hotel's fault as the rooms are great.
The hotel is over all nice but, the staff was rude and I had booked a room over 4 months ago and upon arrival they stated, The rooms aren t ready yet. So we went out for a bit and then we came back and they told us they won t be ready until 3pm when we arrived at 9am. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
The location is perfect for out of town people. You are close to everything. The hotel is very nice. I give 4 stars only because the room wasn't as clean as I had expected.
AWESOME! I was so happy with picking this place. So affordable and in such a great location. I took a bath while listening to the hustle and bustle of the city. I will always stay here anytime I visit. You can see Carnegie which is almost directly across the street. You can see Time Square which is 2 blocks up! I simply cannot say enough about how in love I am with this place!
No coffee in the rooms. I don't understand why there would be no coffee in the rooms.
Very poor experience. Room heater didn't work and took many calls and two hours to get someone to fix. The also charge a facility fee of $40 while don't even give reception number when checking in so no way to call them for any of the services. Rooms big but service disappointing.
Checked in for 3 day stay. The service from the checkin was terrible. Extremely rude.
We got caught in a snow storm so we had to extend our stay. They QUADRUPLED THEIR PRICE FOR THE NIGHT. Price gouged us. There were plenty of rooms and the demand was low because of the storm but they still felt they could take full advantage of their guests during the storm.
They provided new room keys then called us 5 times while trying to sleep demanding we come to the lobby to re-swipe our credit card. They threatened to have us kicked out of the hotel. While I went down to deal with the front desk they sent a rude manager to bang on the door and yell at my wife while she tried to sleep.
I came back up to find a manager and security guard at my door threatening to kick us out for a pre paid room.
UNBELIEVABLE! Rude and no clue what customer service is.
AVOID THIS PLACE!
Excellent location, great king sized bed, room was very clean, spotless. Price is fair. Elevators are busy, so anyone staying on the higher floors may be annoyed with the wait. Highly recommended, will be back for sure.
Clean, good service, but could use a renovation as the rooms are a bit tired
The entire hotel was clean and beautiful. We could not have asked for a better location and stay. Thank you so much!
Clean, good size rooms (for nyc) walkable, access to transportation and restaurants.
Ive been using 4 and 5 * hotels since 15 years but this is the first time i check in, in a hotel room that does not have shampoo inside the bathroom only body wash and conditioner, no free coffee service inside the room, no mini bar service or even a bottle of water, cheap very cheap. And on the top of that they force you to pay a fees called facilities. Thiefs...
Pricy comparing to the service they provide. Won't recommend this hotel
Very nice, great spot for a quick drink.
Great seating areas for a little break.
When we arrived we were given a room which after two requests the ac still never cooled down. On top of that we were charged to store our bags on the arrival day and on our departure day 2 bags totaled $15. What a rip off.
Near with central park and times square.. i would like to stay m at this hotel again.. but.... they have small bed..
Rooms and common area looking a little shabby. Service of rooms inconsistent, could not recognise we had 4 in our room, kept receiving only 2 towels etc. Would not stay again.
Beautiful hotel with modern rooms - near times square and Central Park
Stayed here for my first trip to NYC, had a great time. The hotel is a perfect spot for the subway, Central Park, pretty much everything. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the city.
Never ever. What a worst Service. The only mission of that hotel is to catch money. Dirty rooms and unflexibel stuff.
Always a solid and easy experience when staying near Columbus circle.
My friends and I were very enjoyed our stay at Park Central Hotel New York. Great location just 3 blocks away from Central Park. Subway station just on the corner. But $75 per night for Valet Parking for a Chevy Equinox
There was no day we did not need to go down to the counter. Either room not done or keys not working or ....
UPDATE:
This hotel definitely gets 0 stars if any review sites allow it. I was charged twice after the incident (read below)

I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. DEFINITELY DO NOT STAY HERE. TO ALL THE TOURISTS visiting NYC, there are sooo many other better options that don't add unnecessary charges and treat you better.
I live in the city, but had to stay in several hotels for the last few days due to renovations at my apartment. I booked a room at this hotel (cause it was the nearest place to my apartment that was available at a good price). Came in today at 11pm and there was one concierge (blonde hair pulled back. Wish I got her name). She was a total b*. She told us that I was going to get charged a facilities charge (even if I'm not using any facilities, which in my opinion is a total scam) and that every hotel in NYC has them. Um, no they don't upfront charge you for that. No hotel scams you like this, they charge you separately if you want to use their facility not 'automatically' charge every customer. I've been staying at hotels for the last few days and there were no charges like that. Ever.
I got over the fact that there was a facilities charges, but got angry again when she started to scoff and found it funny that I lived in the city and didn't know about these charges. Yes, because I decide to spend my nights at hotels when I live in the city. I asked her why she was laughing and if she wanted to see my id. She tried to save her ass and say she wasn't laughing at me... yeah, whatever.
The staff was very accommodating and easy to work with. The room was a great price and very nice. Unfortunately we were close to the elevator, but it wasn't too loud. King sized beds do not seem king sized.
I had meetings at the Hilton Midtown. They were sold out so I chose Park Central. Given the cost (about $400) when I booked, I expected it to be pretty good. The lobby area is gorgeous and the fitness center was excellent. That's the reason for the 2 star rating and where the pros end.
-There are only two small elevators per side. Given the number of rooms, that is not sufficient.
-The room had modernized decor but was outdated.
-The outside noise and even the noise from adjacent rooms was extremely loud.
-I purchased a sandwich from the cafe. It was expensive and horrid. There is no other restaurant or room service. (Note: there is a nice bar area)
-My last morning there, I needed assistance from the concierge. It was around 7:48am. He told me he actually didn't open for 15 min. Probably would have taken him less than 2 min to assist.
If you can book this hotel for less than $180, give it a try. However, if the rates are similar to what I paid, seriously consider staying elsewhere.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Elevators small and often too 10-15 minutes to catch one heading down. Room cleaning was slow. 3 days out of 4 it was not made up by the time I returned after 4p.
I took a holiday in New York prior to my visit to the South of Spain. Park Central Hotel is chic, modern, and contemporary. The best part is the hotel location. Within walking distance to Broadway theaters, clubs, restaurant and Central Park is a plus. Also it is near bus lines, metro, and cabs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and there is a small bar in which one can have a conversation. I would recommend Park Central for vacation or business.
Great location next to Central Park. Currently going through some renovations (July 2018) and there tends to be a long wait at the elevator every time (which is reason for 4 stars). Room is clean and service is as expected.
Super rude staff member. The system was down and she let me and my colleagues wait at the redemption for 25 minutes without sharing any info. When asked what was wrong, she got nervous and shouted that the system was down and no one knew what was going and the only way to assign a room was to check them one by one. Surreal experience. After 35 minutes we are still here.
No room service, no maid service unless you complain and cockroaches the size of mice. Need I go on, stay at your own risk.
More than one staff member was rude. Room had a trash that was not emptied. Hotel charges 33$ facility fees which is absrud Poor response to guest concerns overnight
Great location, helpful staff, but no coffee maker or refrig in rooms.
Great value in the heart of Manhattan. Everything was great. The staff was as helpful as they could be and the accommodations were very nice. I was in a handicapped room, but it could have been called a suite because it was huge. There was lots of room for maneuvering my wife's wheelchair. The location was excellent, a few blocks from Central Park and a few from Times Square and the theater district, but far enough that you didn't get all the foot traffic and lights. There ample good and great restaurants within walking distance. When I go back to New York, I hope I am lucky enough to stay there again.
The worst experience I ever had. Staying at this hotel will turn into a nightmare. Rooms are not clean and vacuumed properly. The rooms are so dark and air conditioning doesn t work properly. They have shut down all the lifts, only left one lift operating for each side of the building which is so inconvenient and is not responsive for this many people staying there as you have to wait a long time specially in rush hour. Attached the photo the queue you have to wait every time you want to use the lift.
Was there for choir practice. Seems to be a very nice facility.
We were welcomed by the Valet who was nice as can be. Checked in by the warmest, friendliest staff. Took our daughter into NYC for her birthday and what a birthday! Will be visiting this hotel again! Room was clean and the staff was so helpful.
Two men entered our room at midnight while my wife and I were asleep, waking us with their entry and fearing we were about to be robbed. One man said he was security. We had no way of knowing. I reported this the next morning to the room service manager, asking for an explanation. More than a week later we still have had no response from hotel management, despite repeated requests.
Real nice city hotel. Some of the rooms a little bit cozy but service is real good, everything is real clean and you are in the middle of NYC, so you cannot beat that.
Rooms were small but beautiful. The hotel was very beautiful.
Very Bad. Worst Hotel. They Don't Have Any Good Services To Members. Also They Don't Have Perfect Security. There Staffs Are Not Good. They Don't Know How To Talk With Customers. Very Bad.
Just waited for a friend. Workers were nice. Very clean hotel. Looks well maintained
Pros: located at a very convenient location. very near to most of the major tourist attractions in new york. The sub-way is few meters away too!
Cons: No complementary water bottles, shaving and brushing kits, international charging adapter in the rooms. But all this wasn't the deal breaker. The hotel puts a hold on your credit card but doesn't lift it after you check out resulting in blocking of your available credit on your card. This is despite confirming with the front desk upon checking out. Its very unprofessional. Higher operating standards were expected.
Edit: Mailed the hotel and they replied swiftly. It was better than calling them. Turns out the hotel releases the hold but for domestic card it takes about 10 working days to resolve. In case you have an international card it can take about a month to resolve.
The room smelled like BO. When you check in they charge a $33 "facilities fee" on top of the price you thought it was.
Relatively comfortable hotel. Unfortunately no real restaurant or sit down breakfast option. Room spacious but lacking bathroom take away toiletries and room is badly lit. I did have an incident where my bag was stole but the hotel did their best to rectify)
All the staff was fast, receptive and attentive but... Expensive daily facility fee for a bathroom missing screws everywhere and not the best room AC. They did offer us another room but it was a short stay anyway so no big deal. The style of the hotel is gorgeous with an easy drop off area in the front with valet.
The ambience is good and the location is fantastic p
Worst hotel stay ever, and I dont have high standards. Save your self and stay somewhere else.
This hotel's location is perfect for bopping over to Central Park or over to many NYC landmarks. Our room was large and comfortable, though poorly lit. Be wary of trying to check in at 4, as the line for the front desk was massive then. No coffee maker in the room, but several coffee shops are in the immediate vicinity.
Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Great location. Extended stay and we couldn t ask for anything more! Beautiful place with excellent service!
It's a nice hotel but the guest aren't treated nicely. They were specially rude to me in the front desk and when I tried to call before checking in I was asking some questions and they hunged me up. Terrible service really, would never recommend this place to anyone
Great location, courteous staff and recently renovated! Hidden Manhattan gem!
Not helpful at all when in need for help all I got was anger response.
I was informed about an important point regarding my stay on phone but when I arrived all I got was "who told u so, and no there no such thing come tomorrow morning"
That's not a way to treat your guests or even a descent human attitude.
I wish I could cancel my reservation but the money was taken upfront, and I'll never revisit this hotel and I'll certainly won't trust those misbehaved staff.
It's sad and disappointing.
I didn't stay here but we used the downstairs room. The room was beautiful. It had some nice lighting fixtures and a second floor wrap around balcony to look into the main floor of the room.
DISASTER. First, there were construction work going in main entrance and on, but we did not get any notice about it from hotel administration. When we booked hotel there were no information about ongoing renovation work on the hotel website too. The only entrance into hotel looks like hostel: a lot of people people for small place.
A after expressing my disappointment, manager promised to reduce price and to place us in one of renovated room with good view. In this room A/C did not work, so they gave us downgraded room. The same day after show there were NO HOT WATER. Their explanation was:" It is city problem, we have nothing to do with that"! ??? There were no written notice about it, no explanation. Nothing. We waited until morning - no water in the morning too. We moved out.
Each vitiation was handled absolutely unprofessionally, without proper manners.
The rooms were fine, not super nice but not run down either. However the service at the hotel was terrible they only had 2 elevators to service the hotel and half the time one of the elevators wasn't working. We had multiple occasions were we had to wait 20-30 min to use the elevator. Would have just taken the stairs but had to ask a 8 month pregnant woman to walk 15 flights of stairs. The hotel bag check was rude. I would not recommend staying here.
Rooms were clean and updated but pretty small. The staff was a little rude.
Older hotel in a convenient location with upgraded room amenities. Very well maintained and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
Just stopped in while walking around the city, very nice hotel
Very nice hotel. Good area. Close to everything. Nice bar area. Rooms spacious and nice. Bathrooms clean and nice. I wish there were mini fridges and microwaves in the rooms...so many good choices around, likely to always have leftovers. Staff is friendly.
Staff were nice and pleasant to speak with. Accommodations were appropriate, clean, and they even folded my hoodie when they put it back on my bed.
Absolutely great and friendly staff, beautiful rooms, excellent housekeeping. So close to central park which is very nice as well as minutes away from times square. 10/10 would recommend
Payed for early check-in and didn't get it. Not enough elevators for the number of guests. Decent prices and nice rooms though. Can't beat the location.
The in-house reservation "specialists" was extremely rude and unhelpful. After our family landed at the hotel (after a 20 hour flight), we had to talk to 6 people to try and find our reservation. The in house reservation gal was rude and short with my family. This hotel clearly doesn't get service and we will not be back. The hotel manger needs to review with its staff the concept of "hospitality."
The hotel is comfortable and clean. The staff is nice and helpful. The room amenities are a bit dated and we had limited hot water in the morning. Overall a value if you just need a place to sleep with a good bed.
WARNING: First off we walk in the room and it smells like mold. Awesome. Then we notice the bathroom door does not shut and later on discover the bathtub does not fully plug sometimes. It was impossible to sleep considering the walls were incredibly thin so we could hear EVERY conversation our late sleeping neighbors had.
The bell boy looked annoyed and reluctant to help me when I simply asked where the bathroom was. When calling down for a late check out my call was dropped once and then sent to a wrong number. After that I only received a busy tone.
OH The best part - we awoke to lound banging at 5am and sleepily opened the door to a woman who loudly and rudely exclaimed into her walkie talkie, "They finally opened the door." Only to insist we had ordered an extra blanket and refused to let us close the door until she was told by another employee that she had gone to the wrong room. She was unapologetic and made us feel like it was her fault for messing up something so simple.
Hated this place and hope no one else ever has to endure it.
We were only here 4 nights.
I was in a rush and made a reservation for 09/10/2018 instead of 09/11/2018 for Park Central Hotel in Manhattan. I went to the hotel on the 11th to check in. When I got there, we realized the reservation was for the wrong day. I called hotel tonight and they kept giving me the running around. I was so desperate because I didn t have anymore money to spend so I called the hotel reservation and spoke to Annette. She didn t care either and told me hotel Tonight makes the decisions. When in fact when hotel Tonight called she told them she wasn t going to change the reservation and she didn t. However, she offered me a $270 rate for the night. When I explain to her that my mother just passed and I wasn t able to make another huge purchase. In the end, I slept on the street and hotel Tonight and the park hotel kept almost $250 from me. Please stay away from them. All they care about is money. If you go on hotel Tonight app and try to leave a review, they deactivated it. These 4 stars you see are old reviews. The park Hotel is the same. This is perfect partnership and they compliment each other because they don t care about excellent guest services or going above and beyond for their guests. I regretted it not staying at the Wellington hotel. They have an event space I looked at and was going to rent next summer. Now that I know, I am staying away.
Location is very good, close to metro and Central Park. There is also a bike rental shop and car rentals nearby. Times Square, Columbus Square are within walking distance.
very clean, big rooms, good service, near central park and subway station
The hotel room was big for NYC, cleantech and really nice. The room should have gotten 4 star however there are no amenities . No coffee machine in the room, no restaurant , a bar only open during happy hour , no room service .... and a 35 usd per day resort fee what basically only covers your internet and keeps you thinking you had a deal booked for 155 usd but in the end you booked a 200 a night room only.... the rooms are night the location is great but because of above reasons only 3 stars.
Trying to find a parking spot here was a dreadful experience. It took us more than 30 minutes just to find a decent spot The hotel is okay, but our parking experience is one of the worst.
Great place, beautiful lounge. Rooms are clean and in the perfect location.
Good location if you want to spend time on the upper east or west sides and site see in Central Park. Low frills hotel with professional staff. Convenient to get an uber, cab, or subway to explore other areas in the city.
