Yes this a sales job that requires you to reach a certain amount of sales per month but, if you apply the training that they give you to your everyday routine it is easy to reach the monthly goal. Team leads are great and very knowledgeable and helpful. They treat you like family

Osl employee in Walmart derby Kansas, January 10 j...

Osl employee in Walmart derby Kansas, January 10 just after 6 pm. If my employees treated a customer this way they d last as long as it took to reach the time clock. Insolent rude and lacking in the knowledge she was attempting to share. Suggested I upgrade my phone since good cases for 5s can be hard to find. Told her phone worked fine except for needing a battery which I d buy. She explained that the closest place to replace a battery was Oklahoma City! What? Firstly we have any number of phone repairs here. Secondly I told her I could buy a battery with tools and do myself. She gave the most rude okaaaay . I told her she didn t have to believe me but I d looked them up already and she could. She said she didn t need to as she didn t care and continued with the mocking ok s and whatever you say s. I told her I didn t care if she doubted me but I was a customer of Walmart and I did not appreciate her condescending attitude. I reminded her that Walmart had managers for such things. She said she didn t work for Walmart so she didn t care. I ask for whom she worked and she answered osl. I started to go but stopped and pulled up a site sellings iPhone batteries including my 5s for as low as $20 with tools. She continued the rude mocking tone while stating she didn t say she didn t believe me. I advised that she should learn what she s talking about before dispensing bad advice and treating others customers this way. She continued to mock as I left.

I received an excellent service at Walmart 1149 in Edmonton with OSL's personnel named Pankaj. Him and his colleague were big help in choosing the right phone for my lifestyle and need. They were both very professional as well in dealing with clients.

Worst. Managed. Company.

Worst. Managed. Company.

There is literally no training from this company. Make sure you don't ask for help, because when you do, you'll get fired "for not understanding". The management are filled with lazy people too. They don't do anything to support their team. HR also never responds. Public companies like Walmart, Bell, etc are just destroying their own image when partnering up with OSL. How unfortunate. I'd also like to add that managers are extra sketchy at this company. They will somehow take employee incentives for themselves.

Edit: Not really sure how to reply but @ the owner's response, you're a joke. Your replies is most likely copy and pasted. Why would I further contact the OSL team? Just so HR can do nothing and continue to ignore me and waste my time? You guys can just sit there and pretend you care. Just stop. My rating stands. Worst company ever. Don't work here.

Company doesn t care at all about anyone, I was pressured to make sales the entire time during the pandemic and then they were actively trying to replace me and lied to my face about it when I asked them..legit the most unprofessional company I ve worked for next to Boost Mobile..they think way too highly of themselves for a company that sales majority Pre-Paid devices

I am writing this due to my immense displeasure with your company. On August 28th my family and I went to a Sam s Club in Wausau WI to get 5 new lines through OSL. The process took from 4:50pm to 10:25pm... Sam s Club closes at 8:30pm... The employee did not appear to know what he was doing and made many mistakes. One of his mistakes resulted in a $500 down payment for some sort of service charge. Jenny Casad who is apparently a supervisor never got back to me about this experience even after I called her. Your company wasted my time and my family s time. Your company also did not get my business the next day when we added two more lines to the account at the AT&T store instead of through OSL due to the horrible experience we had there.

Sincerely disappointed,

Steven Schlenner

Have currently worked for the company for 5 years....

Have currently worked for the company for 5 years. Started off as a full time employee and have worked my way up to a manager position.

The job is certainly unlike others I have worked for, I have a team that stands behind me and managers who are there to help with work and personal situations to make sure everyone is treated properly.

Unfortunately no job is perfect and there are things that need to be worked out, however in the 5 years that OSL has been around the amount of positive change that has happened is 100% greater then I've seen at any other job.

If you can not take Constructive feedback and use it to better yourself then this may not be the job you're looking for.

This is a sales position job for the most part so again, be prepared to sell and have to work for the sales just like things in life if you wait around. Nothing will just happen, you have to go out and have the right attitude.

This company is a joke to work for they expect there employees to memorize plans cost when fact is that information is listed in bold print and can be shown and exsplaned in detail to people who are seeking information. I now work for T-moble and they don't care if if you can memorize plans just as long as you know how the buying process works and you can provide the right information to the consumers

the worst company you can work for:

the worst company you can work for:
-no recognition towards the sales associates who feed the whole hierarchy all the same.
- the partners are paid at least while the superiors share the jackpot

- No indulgence towards the partner and we try to reduce his hours and his already meager commissions at the base

- The hierarchy calls the associates using the word `Team` and shares with them all the problems except the payroll

-Osl is lobbies

-No vaccinations paid at Osl

I think a lot of the people who are leaving one star reviews after working here for about a year don t understand what it s like to actually be a salesman. The training here is wonderful, but it takes a lot of personal studying and a lot of outside work to become a good salesman and if you don t wanna put in that work that s your own fault. Just because they don t hold your hand the whole way doesn t mean they re not treating you well. These managers are amazing they are helpful they are considerate and they re honest. I feel very welcomed and cared about. They work as a team and if you ever feel like you re left in the dark you can reach out and ask for help. Yes the interview process was long, but not complicated. They want to make sure they re getting knowledgeable, good people into their company. I can t wait to exceed my career at OSL

Applied for Bell Sales Job and got contacted by HR Representative Vanessa Valles who has only held this position for 3 months. I attended a zoom interview then was asked to be interview by a Field Sales Manager by the name of Anwar (Who did NOT speak one word of English by the way) Interesting interview!!??... he told me that I should get an answer within 2 days of the phone interview. It took them 1 week to get back to me after me calling in 3 times a day for just for an update . I will outsell Vanessa in a split second since I have extensive sales back ground yet she claims that I do not have the Qualifications!! As far as Anwar, he made it seem that since I only speak one language (ENGLISH !!!!) that was somehow a bad thing !! OLS should be disgraced having these two people represent them. They won't last long anyways. Hope this Helps fellow (Employee Community)

I would never deal with this company again. I bought a cell phone at a Walmart, the manager said he would waive the activation fee, It's been going on for almost three months and it's still not done. I have contacted him
numerous times and also the company. No one has ever gotten back to me.
Terrible service.
I did send an email to the address below and I'm still waiting to hear from someone.

Worked with them for 2 years. Thought the loyalty would help. It doesn't. Very good reason turnover is so high. Management treats you horribly, and doesn't value a good worker. Prepare to get treated like garbage by customers, managers, and anyone that finds out you work for them. Take the job only if you are desperate.

Worst company to work for, ZERO training, the managers dont even know how to do their job let alone assist a new employee on theirs, when asked the managers and DM claim there are "no policies or procedures" to follow. No rules or regulations. Hands down the most unorganized company in existence, 0/5 stars if possible. Save your self the time and trouble and go else wher .

David that works for osl at the Walmart on West ridge Rd is nothing but rude. My friend was buying phones and the whole time he was chomping on gum, he was slow, and made many rude comments to me and to my friend about me. Very unprofessional. If I could give least than one star I would. He should definitely NOT work in sales I would never buy anything from him.

I m not sure if it was just location and management I particularly had; but this is the worse company I have ever worked for. Hands down!
I could write a list and it go on for days on the things that make this place a nightmare. Multiple things they I could sue them for and several things I found very unfair.

I could go on as I said, and the customers consistently get f****ed over. Everyday I returning team leaders mistake because they told customers the wrong info just so they could get a sale.
Ridiculous.

I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone. I had three interviews with this company and was literally almost hired, kept up to date with the manager she said " you're still on the top of my list", but I wont have a definitive answer until Monday. I asked her on that monday, as it's my job to keep up with the job I applied for, and literally the hiring manager ghosted me. I didn't get an answer that monday, I tried outsourcing to one of the other managers who interviewed me and neither did he. It's like everybody who interviewed me ghosted me. That is so so rude and disrespectful. I am beyond words right now. Is that the kind of manager you have for this company, irresponsible ones. You put me in the spotlight for a job, dont ghost me or blow me off because you're too afraid to tell me I didnt yet the dang job tell me this, that's simple human decency. Jesus.

I haven t worked for the company since October 10th.. i worked there for 9 months. I still get calls from my old team & stores I helped in district 805 . The turn over rate is ridiculous. Steven Diaz & Jeremy Gonsales let some people down. Happy I left when I did. It was very unprofessional how they treat their employees. I have sent an email to OSL about this and still haven t heard anything back. But I do remain on getting calls from several Store Managers & employees that s worked for me. Happy I left for a better opportunity. I d give this a zero if I could. Especially what s going on now in that district.

THIS IS A REAL REVIEW! I have been working for OSL...

THIS IS A REAL REVIEW! I have been working for OSL for little bit over a year, I started out as a mobile expert at a Wal-Mart, and just got promoted to a sales lead at Sams Club. Growth in this company is definitely achievable if you put in the work. The #1 reason why I love OSL is definitly the growth. This is more than a job for me, I intend to make it a career. My first sales job was Verizon, I was ranked top 5 in the region. But Verizon does not value thier employees and fired me because I called out during a blizard and got stuck in a ditch. Absolutly absurd. Osl is the only employer who had actually valued and recognized my talent and passion for sales. I have been seeing alot of negative reviews towards Osl. Mainly them saying that Osl does not take care of thier employees and that is FALSE. They put you first, they have an award winning team and these are THE FACTS! Osl is different than any other sales job I have ever been in. Every person you meet here is going to be like family to you. Thier number one goal is to make you succeed and to watch you grow as a sales leader and a person. I also want to address all the reviews that say Osl does not train you. So firstly, Osl does train you. They have an amazing training program with some of the top sales leaders in the region. Even after your training, you will receive constant one on one training by your team lead. Your team leads main job is to make sure you succeed. If you don't succeed they don't succeed. So yes, you do recieve training. If you are passionate about sales, or if you're outgoing this is definitely the job for you. Please do not let those negative reviews influence your decision. Osl is a highly successful company and one of the largest retailers for a reason.

If you are just starting out at Osl, or your thinking about applying these are my tips to ensure that you have the best experience, and to reach your fullest potential. Be confident in what you are selling and yourself as well. KNOW YOUR PROMOTIONS ALWAYS. Familarize yourself with the product you are selling. And if you are not sure about something, ask questions. (:

I had many good times working at OSL Retail Servic...

I had many good times working at OSL Retail Services Inc, but I found there were a lot of things to be flawed.

The commission structure is probably the worst in the entire wireless industry. Sometimes spiffs and incentives from carriers make that a little more worth it, or having higher than minimum wage hourly, but you'll definitely make more pretty much anywhere else.

Hourly can be confusing... Everyone makes a different rate, but it's not by merit increases. I had 3 years of wireless experience coming in, and made less than someone who never worked wireless, nor sales, or retail before in their life, and was terminated soon after. When minimum wage went up, OSL sent a letter saying I received a 12% raise....to minimum wage... I felt like I had to fight to get paid what I was worth based on my experience level, and that they didn't understand that I shouldn't be making minimum wage based on what I would've been making if I stayed at my previous job.

Gossip is a huge issue within this company. They say don't spread it or you'll face consequences, but then they do it themselves. I very discretely left my position, not telling any other employees when I was leaving, as I was going to miss several shifts due to other job interviews, while I was also producing a show, about to take bereavement leave, and working another part time job on top of that. I've had several people that I did not report to message me about how I left the company, including giving me details on exactly how I did it, and some even accuse me of writing a negative review on here that was very specific to my district.

The positives of the job are there can be a lot of opportunities to be creative. Paging (if you're allowed to) at Walmart to promote your offers was a lot of fun for me. I also designed posters, flyers, and business cards to gain a little bit more awareness, as most of my time was spent working in a low traffic location. Also, having worked in 14 different stores within two districts, they do pay you appropriately for expensing mileage. With all the shifts I picked up, I don't think I ever paid for my own gas this entire year.

The carrier reps can be super helpful in making you succeed at this job. While you're supposed to offer unbiased solutions, there was definitely one carrier that stood above and beyond in delivering support and exactly what our customers needed, and it was nice to have a good rapport with that brand.

What can be frustrating is it's hard to separate what the client (Walmart) wants and what OSL wants to do. I had managers tell me to turn a blind eye to Walmart ID policies on some occasions "because it really doesn't matter that much." I had watched associates get let go or banned from working at certain locations due to petty issues of Walmart employee or management complaints. Things as simple as the electronics associate was bugging the wireless person with questions while the wireless person was mid-sale, a customer service manager didn't come on time for a cash out or an override, etc.

At the end of the day, you're working in a Walmart. If they expand things where they had specific "Walmart Wireless" branded retail locations that were wireless only in plazas or malls, I feel that would be a much better working environment. Until then, there remains the opportunity for two different companies and their beliefs and standards to completely clash, which also leads OSL to not have the best idea of where to go in terms of direction and growth.

I've been in this industry for a long time and could tell a lot of stories. Osl and more specifically the Golden Horsehoe team is one of the best teams I've been a part of. Worked for OSL for a very short time due to the fact they couldn t get their employees onboard properly. They had me start work without a clock in/out system and never made it a point to turn in my hours on this honor system . This honor system has now left me to email payroll myself to confirm my hours to get paid, but in order to do so... the DM has to fill out certain forms to get my hours processed. Something he was supposed to be doing initially anyways, still waiting on that paycheck too

This company only will keep you on if you are brown (in skin colour). Please see the picture yourself on this google review! If you are any other races and don t speak their language, they will not keep you on.

Don t ask for help. Don t tell management you don t understand something as you will BE FIRED AUTOMATICALLY! This company gives you very little training and just expects you to know the deals and phone contracts and promotions etc.

If you are not there at the work station, management will assume you are slacking off, even you are at the back stockroom scanning inventories into the rq system!

If you are a few mins late you will get punished. If you stay longer, you don t get pay for it!

My friend worked for this company and they clawed ...

My friend worked for this company and they clawed back almost all her commissions earned while working there due to returns, frauds, customer didn t pay bills etc etc!!!
This is not allowed and against the law of Canada !

Employers often fail to pay commissions and minimum pay to sales employees. For example, employers cannot deduct returns from an employee s commissions. Employers also cannot refuse to pay earned by uncollected commissions earned when an employee leaves a company. It is also generally improper for companies to fail to pay earned commissions during so-called probationary period (for example, no commissions paid until an employee has been with a company for six months).
This is what I found on the labour law website.

I d advise her to hire a lawyer to sue the company for clawing her commission right. It is not right and it is not fair! The employee has done the work (made the sales), it is none of the employee s businsss if customer returns etc etc etc.

Working at this company was the absolute worst Job experience I have ever had. In south jordan salt lake city utah My boss was very judgmental to all her customers, constantly complaining to me (the employee) about her bosses complaining about her not getting enough sales Or how a customer would comment on her poor childish attitude. She even went as far as to say my husband was going to come and hurt her having me sent home 3 days and written up.The whole company has a poor management system and terrible customer service and equality. I would recommend this more as a 2-3 month temp job for the pay.

Took our darling grandson (turns 12 next month) to purchase his first phone at Sams. Spent a good amount of time deciding on a phone, only for the OSL cashier to then say they didn't have it in-stock AFTER having just claimed to check. So once she told us what was for sure available, she then comes back to say that our 2nd choice (selected from her list of what they had) they did not have it after all. 3rd time isn't a charm for them, we left and purchased the phone at Costco instead.

I got exactly what I was told and when there was a misunderstanding and issue it was solved immediately and Greg was very well versed in helping me understand the process further. I've never been this happy with setting up a phone plan.

I was contacted by a recruiter through Indeed about a management position in my area. I responded that I was interested last night. This morning, at 11:57 am, I received a txt message asking what time I would be available TODAY for a phone interview. I found it odd that someone would schedule an interview for the same day, but I am off work, so I responded 1pm would be fine.

1pm came and went with no response. I chalked it up to the recruiters being busy and let it go.

At 3pm I received a message asking if I was free now. I responded Sure .

It is now 6:29pm and I have not received a call, or another text.

I have wasted an entire day off waiting for an interview that has not yet happened, with no explanation or form of apology.

I am not one to go online and complain, as I have been in retail sales and management for many years, but this is inexcusable.

This is the most unprofessional experience I have had with a company. I am sure if this is the best they are willing to treat potential employees THEY sought out, that it cannot be a good company to deal with in any way.

I got suspended without the proper paperwork and it's been 2 weeks and haven't heard a word and I have had nothing but troubles with this company. This company is a big pyramid scheme and I hope walmart takes them out of their stores asap. I hope the manager gets fired for how unproffesional she is.

My boyfriend and I met through OSL and their Retail services. Little did I know that he would would be my other half. But it just kind of happened right there and then. :)

I just want to say that, Ean did a nice job handling tracfone, tracfone decided to give him some trouble, after a while we were having trouble with tracfone so he transferred me over to a verizon prepaid phone. I love it. Best switch I ever made. Ean is an amazing worker. He does his job, helps and really cares about his customers. Nice Job Ean and the OSL Canadian Company. I definetly recommend anyone to you guys.

OSL is a relatively new and interesting company that primarily focuses on people and working to restore the quickly disappearing human touch in business today. Their belief is that if you put your people first, everything else will follow. Every interaction I've had with this company has been amazing and reflective of this focus.

Great company to work for. I love the work and home life balance. I am able to manage a store and still have more than enough time to raise my daughters. Great leadership. Management works with you to make sure you are successful. Everyone always makes you feel important. Love my time here.

I am not working for this company, but after expre...

I am not working for this company, but after expressing interest on Indeed, got a call on October 30th, 2020 from a number that came up as OSL Services, asking whether I was available for a telephone interview. I firmed up for one that same day in the afternoon, as I am looking for work.
As an outdoor Sales professional of many years, I was not really happy at the way things transpired after the interview.
When the call came later, the lady explained the job of a Territory Sales Rep representing Bell Canada to sell Telecommunication services and Home Monitoring to residents in a given area.
They told me there was no cold calling, but that I would be given a qualified lead list for for setting up appointments, follow up and confirmations.
I was told there d be a base pay and gas allowance after she confirmed that I had a car and a G License. Further she informed me that there will be incentives on sales and some of their employees were getting 60K and more per annum. I was asked if they could do a background check, which I okayed. I was told there d be a paid training of 7 days and by now with the conversation was going, I was getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about what a great company this is!
The interview ended with the lady asking me situational questions and how I would respond. After this, she tells me that there would be a video interview with their Teams Manager. The date and time was set up for today 04 November. An email was sent and a confirmation requested, duly actioned by me.
Again this morning I received a text message reminder with another reconfirmation asked.
Everything was done professionally, I was impressed and at each passing moment felt more and more excited about getting this job.
Little did I realize I was being set up with a glib set of lies, till I had the interview with their Teams Manager TODAY.
The gentleman who called was polite and told me that he was in charge of Western GTA. Then he proceeded to give me a ground level reality of the job. He said :
1. The job was ENTIRELY based on cold calls knocking on doors 8 hours for 5 days a week. (Why did the lady lie? )
2. The recipients of these calls were not expecting me to knock on their doors and most would brush me off, some would be rude etc - as most of them already had phone services. ( The lady had said there was no cold calling and everything was by appointment.)
3. Would I be able to weather the cold and severe conditions working outdoors? Would I be able to knock on doors when it got dark from 5 to 8pm? ( the work timings and weather wasn t the problem as I am aware of outdoor conditions; I was foretold of the timings and a very rosy picture of the earnings potential was given to me)
4. Would I agree to shadow one of their reps to understand the actual work scenario? When the was told to me, there was no offer of remuneration for my time.

My concerns here, really are: why did the initial caller LIE to me about the first 2 points? Is this way of recruiting ethical? I wonder what other surprises are in store IF and WHEN you join?
If there are others with the same story do share with me.

This company pays little commission in the wireles...

This company pays little commission in the wireless industry. Telus contract as low as $15. Koodo contract is $7. And if the customer cancels, you get nothing, which isnt fair to the employee.
The employee has completed the sales, and even if customer cancels, the company still should pay the employees.
And commission pay is 2 months wait!!!

" Employers often fail to pay commissions and minimum pay to sales employees.

No option for 0 stars. Horrible company to work for. Refer to all 1 star reviews as to why. No support, no training, basically you're a warm body they place inside a retailer. The retailer I was in absolutely hated OSL due to the high turnover and lack of knowledge. Never paid on my last 2 bonuses I am still owed. Run for the hills my friends.

Wonderful experience with Owen, Territory Specialist at Walmart Elmridge Greece, NY. He helped my husband and I purchase a new iPhone XR 11/11/19. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly.
He even gave us his cell number and made arrangements to meet us, at our convenience. Owen is a credit to your company.

This company is an absolute joke, ran by absolute ...

This company is an absolute joke, ran by absolute clowns. No matter how good of a salesman you are, they treat you as a number. No possibility of advancement and the pay compared to the rest of the market is laughable. You have to be on some BS application with your personal phone 24/7 posting pictures of the work you've done, to, I guess, somehow prove you're working? What the hell is that. Not to mention the hundreds upon hundreds of online courses which most people just skip anyways. They expect you to do these online courses on your work hours, and if you cant catch up during you work hours, you're told to them them at home. On your own free time. You should've seen the horror when they started their "bicycle program" . The most unprofessional launch i've ever seen. Wow. And on top of all this, you have to work alongside Wal Mart employees who are consistently told to make OSL low priority. Wal-Mart management won't even give you the keys to unlock your own cash register, and you can't even use their office supplies that are in house. You have to order them seperately even if they have everything you need. I thought it was a partnership? Literally using their space to make sales. All this for minimum wage plus below the market commission. The way they treat their employees internally, especially managers and assistant managers, is borderline criminal. They work you until exhaustion and then find another monkey to take your place. All you normies just see the face of OSL, you have no clue what's going on inside. I sincerely wish for this entire company to crumble.

I work in the Golden horseshoe district as a retail manager. I am posting this because I want to, not because I was asked. I love my job. I love the people I work with and the support I get everyday. I have worked a lot of jobs in my life and so far this is the best fit I have found. The culture of this company is like none other. Great place to work, grow and develop.

I couldn t ask to work for a better company!
One of the things I enjoy the most about working for OSL is the sense of family and continuity that we have every single day

I am an associate for the company. Just the other day helped an older gentleman who was visiting from England for a few weeks figured out that he needed and settled on a service provider. He expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude for my help and then preceded to tell me that he had been to multiple other stores and had received zero help from anyone!
Its nice to know we can make someones day as well.

Working for OSL has been a great experience. This ...

Working for OSL has been a great experience. This company goes above and beyond for it's customers and employees.

The sales processes used by OSL are not only effective, but honest. I have worked in many levels of sales over the years, but never have I worked with a sales company more dedicated to integrity.

The work I do as a Team Lead is enjoyable and rewarding. Not only do I get to build a team of dedicated Mobile Experts and teach them to develop their skills according to OSL's processes, I am also being taught daily by my peers and manager.

Collaboration and teamwork are encouraged and rewarded, and the culture is both the most positive and most productive I have ever experienced.

This company is growing fast, and opportunity for advancement abounds for those willing to work for it.

If you are even remotely considering a career in retail sales I strongly encourage you to give OSL a try, chances are you will love it as much as I do.

Better train your staff to FULLY inform the custom...

Better train your staff to FULLY inform the customer not just what we want to hear. The OSL associate told me about a $40 a month Verizon plan plus a payment plan for a phone which would cost $16 a month. I even verified that it would be $56 approx. a month for my bill, since I would be switching from straight talk ($48.60 a month). He said "yeah something like that". After all the paperwork was done and i had a receipt for the sales tax that i paid, i then inquired what my monthly bill would be EXACTLY. he flips a second page over, which i never saw, and tells me it would be $80!!! I then got very upset and reversed the transaction on the spot. He never planned to inform me of a $20 a month charge for an open single line. Was i supposed to find that out when i got my bill??!!! Scam artists. Thanks for solidifying my loyalty to no-nonsense, prepaid plan Straight Talk.
