My boyfriend and I traveled to PC from Dec 12, 2017 to Dec 22, 2017. We chose Now Larimar PC as our resort, and hoped for the best. It was our first time traveling to the Dominican Republic, and we had heard great things about Punta Cana.
Upon our arrival at the airport, we were driven to the hotel by the included airport transfer, and were nicely greeted by the lobby personnel. Let me tell you right now that the upgrade to the Preferred Club is not necessary, as the regular package is quite amazing already.

The only criticisms I can think of, is that our package said we'd get a pool view. Instead, we got a garden view (which was still beautiful). We had asked to be changed, on our arrival, from our first floor room to a higher level. We got moved to the second floor, which was better. Also, in the middle of an afternoon one day, they fumigated the place via air-born pesticide. My boyfriend was in agonizing pain for about 25 hours following this, and there was very little I could do for him. I am unsure if this was caused by the fumigation, but everything pointed so, as we had consumed and done the same activities, yet he was the only one to have been exposed to the smog. Maybe doing this would not be a good idea during the middle of the day, when families are still out by the pools..(the reason why I've given it 4 stars)? He recovered within 25hours, and we were able to enjoy the rest of our stay.
All in all, I very much enjoyed my vacation and I will be visiting again! :)

We have a great time so far, my family had enjoy all the amenities. The spa and steam room was awesome, my wife and I relaxed. My son have a good time in the pool and in the beach meeting other kids, and also the game room. The entertainment every night was enjoyable. The housekeeping was excellent, but some of the waiter's in the restuarant should focus one customer at a time.

It's was a nice break for normal grind, I wouldn't say bars stocked be definition top shelf liquor, stay away from the whiskey. Pools need to be policed more unruly guests tend to ruin atmosphere throwing water bottles and volleyballs hitting other guests.

The customer service at this resort is unlike any ...

The customer service at this resort is unlike any I have seen before. I had a group of about 55 guest staying at here for our wedding. I felt like royalty during our stay. We stayed in a partial ocean view in the preferred section of the resort and the room was perfect. Our room also came with a personal concierge, Miguel, and he was fantastic! He helped us make dinner reservations, spa appointments and even helped find my Dad's shirt 2 days after he checked out of the resort and even got my cousins passport to the airport via a taxi so she didn't miss her flight. He checked in on us every day and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend upgrading to the preferred section, not only for the concierge but for the upgraded bars and the private (more quiet) pools.

The entertainment team is fantastic at making sure everyone has a great time from morning until late at night. They plan out lots of different actives like early morning yoga on the beach, games at the pool during the day and then fantastic shows at the plaza or ballroom during the evening. There really is something going on at all times.

There are 5 different A la Carte options for dinner on property and I got to try every one except the Italian (located at NOW Garden), Spice, the Hibachi grill was my favorite (this one does require reservations but is so worth it). The buffet follows a theme every night and is perfect for large groups because there is something for everyone. The Barefoot Grill, the preferred restaurant, was perfect for lunch and breakfast and has the best location being right off of the pool and beach. It's open air but gets a great breeze from the ocean, and offers a buffet for breakfast and an a la carte option for lunch.

The nightclub is located on the second floor above the plaza and is HOT! The DJ is excellent and can feel the crowds vibes throughout the night but since it has a roof and isn't all the way open there is no breeze and is super super hot, they really should install one of those really big fans to help with the breeze.

I'll be returning to this resort again very soon mainly because i know how well we will be treated by everyone at the resort!

Would never stay here again nor would we ever recommend it! Food was terrible. Most the workers not very friendly. Was a awful smell in certain parts of the hotel. Could even smell it mildly through the vent in our room. I have to say it is a beautiful place and our room was very nice but for the price we paid for an all inclusive vacation we expected a lot better than we experienced.

If you think you're going to an all-inclusive, it takes a lot of dollars to tip, because if not the second day you'll have to attend to you only. The catamaran that is included. To be able to use it you must pay an insurance of 10 dollars per day and you can use it only once per half hour. If you want shade on the beach, take your umbrella because there is not for everyone and nobody cares. The same to find a deck chair in the pool.

Disgusting. My girlfriend was sexually harassed by the room service delivery man. He slowly rubbed his shoulder and arms all the way through her chest while she was pinned to the wall and there was plenty of space for him to get through. He offered to take off the plastic wraps and make tea for her--he basically didn't want to leave. All these happened while I was in the bathroom taking a shower. He left and appeared again, with the excuse of taking back the plates from the night before and tried to get me leave the room (saying I left something in the restaurant, which I didn't visit on that day at all). Disgusting.

Love this place and the luxury it offers.
We got married here. The wedding was very expensive and we had quite a few issues (management in particular), but the overall experience was great. Most of the details were perfect and the guests had a blast They still talk about it!
Upgrade to the preferred is really worth it. We were only in the preferred sections and enjoyed the privacy.

Nice relaxing area. Drinks are overflowing. The food could be improved during the day there's very limited options. The night life is more exciting but not wild. All the staff is friendly and for weddings and special events they truly try to create whatever your vision is(of course there's a fee for all extras). And ask about off site shopping malls they offer transportation and the souvenirs are more reasonably priced than the onsite shops

Hello, if you want to see the Caribbean island, yo...

Hello, if you want to see the Caribbean island, you have to come here. It is fantastic. The Hotel Now Larimar / Bavaro and Garden are located on the Atlantic. At the sea are always dependent on the day sometimes more, sometimes less seaweed / plant remains. The staff clean it up, but the grass is faster. To see even more Caribbean, make an excursion to Saona or Cantalina. If you want to see the underwater world while snorkeling, the tour on Catalina is not enough here. I was quite disappointed with seeing some plants and fish and that was it. I thought I would see more. The equipment to snorkel even underwater, there is extra to buy. The normal snorkeling is only on the surface. Saona is to be recommended, especially the guide was great, has told a lot during the ride over DomRep, was funny, reliable and translated into four languages. A trip is about $ 95. Anyone who flies here should simply change their money here in Germany. Is just convenient and the remaining money, can also be changed back to Germany. The food in the hotel is varied and delicious. The main restaurant is almost the same every day. But you also have the opportunity to eat in the hotel in Ala Carnte, here you can choose from: Mexican, Japanese, Italian, American and French. Small shops are also available and of course stalls or Dominicans on the beach who want to sell something. The hotel room is very clean and is cleaned every day. An adapter for the sockets is needed. All rooms have air conditioning. Should someone freeze easily, you could take a thin jacket with you for dinner. In the room you can of course make out. It is recommended that if someone has a sensitive stomach, brush their teeth with water in drinking bottles. Keep your mouth closed while showering. The water is chlorinated, but not comparable to our water in Germany. The staff / people are very outgoing, friendly, helpful & attentive. A little Spanish knowledge you should bring, otherwise enough English. Entertainment is available every night as everywhere. What I do not like so much is that you make internal differences between normal and special club members, we did not know that there is the possibility at all. The VIP customers have e.g. a four-poster bed over the pool, separate beach where food and drink is served, four-poster bed on the beach, better snacks, better beach chairs .... For the normal there is only one stand for snacks, so not much choice. The beach is very busy in the morning (10:00), you have to look for beach chairs (quite uncomfortable). Tipping is always directly required for excursions, in the hotel itself it is not so. Of course it is voluntary. On the whole, I can recommend that, but rather then VIP, if someone puts on it, otherwise the standard also reaches perfect.

Very good hotel on a human scale

Very good hotel on a human scale
Very smiling team dynamic and always available
Very good and varied restaurants
Very good services
Not suitable for young children despite the presence of a kids club (no activities or toboggan for them)
Speaking English or Spanish is highly recommended.
Attention to the choice of the category of the room, if not "preferred club" access to 2 swimming pools, 1 restaurant and a beach area will not be possible.
Negative point: the doors of the rooms are not phonetically isolated which is unpleasant when some noisy guests come home early in the hotel nightclub.
Photos room "preferred club tropical view"

This resort was beautiful with an amazing staff!! Jumbo Mambo was a staff member with a great personality. He made me and my family very comfortable. The night club located in the resort was enjoyable but did close very early. They have multiple food options but unfortunately none of the food options was Dominican food which was a bit upsetting. Being in Dominican republic i wanted to experience their culture and it was hard to do that within the resort. i would recommend that the resort should have a Dominican restaurant located in the resort. Other than that keep up the great work !! P.S if you are looking to do an excursion i would suggest the Monkey Jungle , it was an unforgettable experience where you are able to interact with monkeys and our tour guide ( Sammy) had so much information to provide us with during our ride ! He had amazing energy and made our excursion wonderful. So remember Monkey Jungle and request Sammy !! You won't regret it.

My husband and i stayed here about a week ago. Most of the trip went well, however i feel i must tell the negative aspects as well. Upon arriving at the resort, right when we got off the van that transported us from the airport, we were pressured over and over to attend a promotion for their resorts. They wanted us to attend a 90 min seminar about joining or becoming a member. We had just traveled nearly 2,000 miles, we were tired, and extremely hot and uncomfortable, we told them this several times, and they just continued to bother us. They even went as far as saying "oh your room is not ready, so you might as well talk to us". This was obviously a lie, as we made reservations months in advance. Finally, to get them off our backs and to go away, we agreed to an 815 a.m appointment the next morning (we wernt really planning on going, however). The next morning arrived, 815 passed, and our rooms phone began ringing. We ignored it knowing it was them, however it just kept ringing. We finally answered it, and it was the same man from the day before who was pressuring us, and he was asking "where are you, you didnt show up to your appointment" i answered "we are not coming, you made us feel uncomfortable". After this, This fiasco still wasnt over yet. The next few days we were followed throughout the resort property by this mans "supervisor" who was asking my husband behind my back to talk me into attending the promotion. YET again, another time, we were approached in the lobby and told we would be given 100 dollars to spend in their gift shops if we attended. The weather was rainy, so we finally gave in. We attended the seminar, and during it, we were treated like we were their best friends. Then, after it was over and we respectfully declined becoming members, their attitude immediately changed toward us, they got up and just walked away. No thank you for your time, no nothing. It was A big act. Other than this experience of being stalked, we had a good time. Our room was spotless, the resort grounds were beautiful as well as the beach. The resort entertainment was great. We had a good time, however next time we will stay somewhere else.

Horrible! I do not know how they attributed 5 stars to a hotel in which dirt is visible, smell must be unbearable, old and sells rooms overlooking the pool, without being seen the pool, it is only on the side where the pool is, but can not be seen. 3 stars would be reasonable to allocate, anyway .... The restaurant you have to look for employees to serve a glass of water.
Beware when you buy the room because paying more for something that does not exist does not make sense and the prices are too high for the offer.
No doubt I will not be back and recommend.

Stayed for a week July 2019 family holiday, great resort, staff were very good and friendly. Had some special ones that looked after our family, Gensi always kept our drinks up at the nightly shows which were great too, Pelluche and Diva were a lot of fun dancing at nights and at the beach in the mornings, and La Chiki and Maribel kept us hydrated down at the beach everyday. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be going back...

So let's go over everything together (this may get...

So let's go over everything together (this may get lengthy, but will all be accurate). We were part of a wedding that occurred back in January, but here is what happened.

RESORT: Clean and comfortable. Many areas to hang out in, and staff are all very friendly and helpful, though at times there can be a language barrier (understandable as English is my primary). Entertainment, buffet and bar staff are all amazing! The main pity is that unless you upgrade to the Preferred Club (at a massive cost) you are completely restricted to one snack bar and ONE pool (though the pool is large). The beach is lovely, though could use a bit more cleaning and maintenance (we found broken glass during our stay).

FOOD: Pretty average but plentiful. Nothing amazing, but nothing terrible ... I suppose I expected more from a four star resort. That being said, food service is available 24 hours. Beverages are plentiful, but very inconsistent ... by all means, order the drink of the day or a basic spirit, but don't be cross if you don't always get what you order (you're on vacation .... lighten up).

ROOMS: Though a bit dated, the rooms were comfortable and pretty clean. Huge bathrooms and wonderful maintenance from the Housekeeping Department. Bed was quite comfortable. The major hiccup that we had was the fact that someone from the staff (or with their assistance) went "shopping" in our room at some stage. Our valuable were all in the safe, so nothing valuable was lost, but it does make you feel a little uncomfortable when you know for a fact that someone went through your underwear drawer :( We did contact the resort, but my wife never did receive a response from management. All in all, it was just summer clothing and inexpensive accessories, so not overly fussed, but the invasion of privacy means much more.

ACTIVITIES: The activities booked at the resort should be booked well in advance, as everything we wanted to do was sold out. Many of the excursions were all about drinking, which we had little interest in as we wanted to experience culture. That being said, many folks that went on the boats seemed to having a grand time!! The nearby "shopping" is really all just tourist junk and though it was fun to wander down the beach and spend some money, I could have most definitely done without. Any attempt to ask a local where we could find authentic stores resulted in a trip to another souvenir shop with the same goods as all the others (thank goodness I love to barter for good prices).

OVERALL: Not really what I expected from a four star resort. The staff really made up it and were wonderful, but the resort itself was a little boring for the price paid. Though it is quite relaxing if you just want to unwind in the sunshine, if you are looking for a stimulating holiday, I may explore other options. Again, quite an average experience, and I would have gone up to four stars, had it not been for the lack of communication from the management team.

Bad. This is not a real 5 stars. Very noisy. No bed for babies. Very humid room. A buffet similar to a canteen. The other restaurants inaccessible, always wait 1 hour before you can have a table. Really expensive for what it is.

The good points are the always dedicated staff, the pool, the proximity to the beach, as well as the garden which is very nice.

A beautiful hotel in the Caribbean.

A beautiful hotel in the Caribbean.

We were there at the end of September, beginning of August 2018, shortly before there was a hurricane that you hadn't noticed anything, except for the carpets of algae which you could watch on approach.

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport, but you cannot hear or see the planes.

A beautiful garden, which is permanently maintained, makes the way to the room a pleasure.
We had a "preferred club" room (larger, with a jacuzzi on the balcony or terrace, the minibar was completely refilled every day). The room was cleaned every day and when you were eating in the evening again tidied up and made up.
In addition to the better room, the "preferred club" also offers two additional pools (a quieter pool for sun worshipers and a pool with hammocks over the water), as well as an exclusive stretch of beach with better loungers. Drinks are served on the beach and pool.
We never went to the main pool to swim, as the "preferred pools" are simply a dream.
At first I was skeptical about the cocktails, as the famous slushy ice machines were in the bars. However, I was immediately convinced by the first cocktail, they taste just super natural and very fresh. If you like cocktails made from fresh pineapple, you should ask the men and women at the bar when they will be offered at the main pool and then grab one.
The beach is a beautiful white sandy beach, the algae that were washed ashore were also regularly removed with the help of a tractor, this didn't bother me at all when it was driving along the beach section (rather than having to fight your way through mountains of algae to the sea).
On the beach itself there are some local sellers with various goods. However, here it is not like e.g. in Turkey where this can be very intrusive. A simple "no thank you" and you have a nice day and move on.

About the food you can only say there is something for everyone.

At breakfast on the first morning we tried the "preferred only" restaurant Castaway, which has a buffet and fresh omlet. The restaurant is right on the beach and you have a view of the sea. We liked it so much that we had breakfast there every morning, so I can't comment on the main breakfast.

My final opinion on this hotel:

-Super friendly staff
- beautiful facility
- great rooms
-preferred club is worth every penny
Anytime again in this hotel!

Dream vacation guaranteed!

Just came back from our trip and had an excellent time!! Everything about the resort is really good. Its very clean, room spacious, food was above average..loved the tropical fruits and juices served during breakfast. Best part was the entertainment team..all of them went above and beyond to make our trip memorable..special mention - baby face, mariachi, fifty cents . Evening shows were top class. The beach is beautiful - white sand..the sea weed was there but did not bother us much. We did not take the preferred club membership but still had a blast.

This resort is fun and full of night life. There are plenty of themed restaurants to choose from, Mexican, Asian, French, and Seafood. There is a Casino on premise as well as a wonderful coffee shop. There are different shows starting every night starting at 9. Plenty to see and do here. This is a kid friendly resort and they have activities to keep them busy while the parents go out and enjoy some much needed adult time. This resort is very close to the ocean and pool.

i usually i dont post comments unless its really bad or really good and this time i am happy to post something positive to the public. In one sentences - this place is amazing and exceeded our expectations by 200%. and if in details here is my comments / suggestions:
1. book a room in preferred section. you are going to get personal butler and this makes things so much smoother. anything you need just text the guy and its done. we had Jean Carlos and the guys was awesome. He was like our shadow, not too much in our faces, but when we needed him he was right there.
2. Compliments to Chief Aaron. My wife has gluten allergy and Chief Aaron was personally making her meals to make sure their are gluten free . very pleasant gentlemen and very accommodating
3. The property is very clean and updated. Rooms are on a bigger side and all has jacuzzi on a balcony or patio, no molds or funky smell. Also all rooms within walking distance to the beach, no need to wait got trolley or anything.
4. Beach has very little seaweeds and its cleaned few times a day. no seaweed odor either. no rocks or seashells on seabed so you can enjoy barefoot. i strongly suggest to rent their cabanas , it makes experience so much better with personal server and premium drinks
5. Lastly but most important it the quality of service. its our first time in Dominican Republic and i was kinda already settled to receive same service as in Jamaica ( who been there knows what i am refereeing too : ) but this place is 5 levels above. it even beats some of 5 star resorts in USA. Everyone is super friendly and truly trying to accommodate your needs. as they same my home is your home, and they truly mean it :)
