Absolutely horrible. Took literally weeks to call us back. Where were my mother's remains? We had to have the memorial without the ashes. The woman who finally spoke with my sister claimed she had tried to call. She was dishonest, rude and cruel at a time of grieving. What is wrong with this woman? Insult upon injury. Our priest had nothing good to say about them either -- no communication, miscommunication, take their time because they have already been paid, etc. Our priest said that this was his experience with those who used NS as well. Find someplace better.

I cannot give it 5 stars since I am still alive and can not have a total account of the services; however,the professionalism of Sophie and the format of the program is very comforting. I can hardly wait to pass, and then we'll determine if you get your fifth star. I'll let my kids decide. But I'm sure you will. Thanks for making dying and the aftermath so simple and appealing.
I had NOTHING good to say about the Sherman Oaks Neptune Society customer service from a previous experience 5 months ago, when my friend passed (he and his wife had pre-arranged).
BUT, this time around, when my friend's wife passed, Carlos Calderon totally reversed my opinion.
Carlos was attentive, efficient, friendly, and communicated immediately to any phone call or emails. All the documents were processed in a timely manner and the whole process was professionaly handled and completed.
In November, a loved one died and Neptune handled all the arrangements. Our representative, Sergio, was very professional, courteous, and respectful. It wasn't perfect, but most things rarely are. In the end, we were very pleased with everything and had no issues.
I'm happy I've got this taken care of. Carmen with Neptune Society was wonderful, she patiently explained my options and cleared my concerns, she helped me get it all set up, pricing is more than comfortable, the added piece of mind that arrangements are taken care of and family will not have to deal with this or try to guess what I would have wanted and make unnecessary expenses. I have what I need, more importantly, what I want. My final plan, is my plan.
I made a tentative appoint with a rep. then was hospitalized with a serious condition, and today was my first day home briefly before going back to re-hab; Thus not receiving any communication, e-mail, phone calls etc. When I returned to my apartment building one of your reps was in the hallway shouting at me as a "nasty person" for ignoring your reps attempts to reach me. I thought he might be dangerous so my health care provider and I rushed to the elevator to get to my apartment as quickly as possible. Naturally, I have no idea of using your services for my burial at sea.
They sent a letter addressed to my Father who passed away over 12 years ago in a different state. He never lived in the state the letter was addressed to. The letter was asking about cremation. I have never heard of this company in my life. How did you get a deceased mans information.This has been more than upsetting. This is unbelievable!
My Dad passed in Oct 2018 when he was 88, and they prepaid for Neptune. On that day, the 2 caretakers were so respectful and quiet during our time of grieving. They arrived within 1.5 hours after the call, and handled all the paperwork and cremation. They told me the date. They told me when he was going out on the boat to sea. and they sent a card afterwards. The keepsake box was also very classy looking,and for those that do not want ashes out to sea, you can get them back and put them in the wooden urn. I saw negative reviews, and wanted to post my favorable experience with Neptune and this Sherman Oaks branch. Dear friends of the family asked me for a recommendation, and I was pleased to refer them to this Sherman Oaks office, and felt a great review was long overdue.
I was very happy with the service. There was no high pressure there is no forcing me to act today I took me three four months to decide if I wanted to do this. they representative was very patient with me and explained the process more than once very patient. So I'm very happy with the service I feel confident that I did the right thing for my family and I always wanted to be cremated so now it's in writing and got somebody to do it
Unfortunately, my husband passed away while we were out of town. A close family member who has dealt with the Neptune Society before suggested they would be the people who could best help. We were blessed to have Carlos assigned to our care. From our first conversation until our last, Carlos was extremely professional, informative, understanding, respectful, and empathetic. Carlos was so kind and even gifted me with a beautiful necklace containing the ashes of my beloved spouse. Thank you, Neptune Society, for your invaluable assistance during this most difficult time.
Both my mom and dad died within 6 months of each other and had previously signed up to Neptune Society. They handled everything and kept in constant contact with us the entire time. Everyone was so gracious and caring with helping me get through this very difficult time. After all was said and done my husband and I also signed up for their service so it will be less stressful for our children at the time of our passing.

Horrific! Left my grandfather on a shelf for 1 1/2 years and told us he was scattered at sea. Called and said 1 1/2 years later to come pick him up! Then offered us our money back because "we were not satisfied with services!" Can you imagine that? Horrific.
Sophie was the best. I referred a friend to her who also purchased. I highly recommend Neptune Society. My first experience was a year ago when my Mother in-law passed away. She have purchased this before and made the experience much less stressful since the arrangements were already made.

I had seen some of the reviews and was really scared because I my mom had already been taken to them prior to me reading the reviews. I told them I had read some horrific reviews and I didn t want any problems. My representative Wendy assured me she would make sure everything was taken care of and that she would always be available for anything I needed. Recently I experienced the death of a close friend. It was a very difficult time but dealing with Neptune Society made things easier to bear. The people at Neptune, Sherman Oaks were very compassionate and professional. They helped me all the way through the process and made my time of grief lighter. My husband died suddenly and I was so relieved that we had signed up with Neptune society several years ago. All I had to do was give my ID card. Everything was handled smoothly and compassionately at the hospital. We picked up the ashes and death certificates , and were treated with respect, kindness and professionalism. During this difficult time I was grateful that everything was taken care of.

My loving husband had purchased his plan through Neptune Society several years ago before we were married, and passed away in October 2017. He did not want me to be stressed with having to make the arrangements when he knew that I would be fraught with grief. tl;dr - Not only is Neptune overpriced, they also do not have excellent operations and you can do better.
Neptune talked my dying father into purchasing a "pre-need" package (including cremation services, transportation of remains, and an overpriced urn) and provided a "membership" card that no doubt gave him peace of mind and a sense of having handled affairs in advance of his death. After he passed, we called Neptune to start the process and they failed to inform us that the would need on-average 15 days from start-to-finish. We set a funeral date 9 days from the date of call, and because Neptune doesn't work on Sat-Sun, we discovered on Mon that Neptune could not actually meet our timing demands. As we proceeded to collect the necessary information for the Death Certificate, there were many back-and-forth emails with many inaccuracies and delays as their staff were busy with other clients. Finally, with relatives from Asia already flying in for the funeral, we lost confidence in their operation and despite the pre-paid services, we started dialing Yelp highly-rated mortuaries all morning -- so in the midst of our grief, we were calling firms saying, "Hi, I need a body burned in 6 days, can you do it?"
When we signed on with another Yelp highly-rated cremation service, we told them we were switching over from Neptune and they laughed and say "yeah, that happens a lot." That mortuary used Docusign to collect all the necessary information, was highly responsive, and picked up my father's body the same day we signed the contract! They are on track to meet their commitment for a fast turnaround funeral.
If you don't have a tight deadline, Neptune might be fine. But in our case, they couldn't provide assurances on a short timeline so it wasn't a good fit. I wish they had told that to us at the beginning and offered us other options.
Mother had everything ready ! Neptune stepped right in and took care of Mother and her wishes, the staff is so caring & giving It truly was was a blessing they are Competent, Kindness goes a long ways Especially in these times I m very grateful to the staff for being there for myself and my daughter thank you for all that you do
Got a sales call today, and the girl was so rude and hung up on me when I did not agree to have someone that "was in the area" to come talk with me. Typical of buisiness today. Buy from me or screw you. I will not use them now.
