I have always loved the Navarra venues, especially Le montage but I was very lucky to find a venue so close to Christmas to celebrate my engagement luncheon at the Oatlands House on Sunday the 17th of December. Throughout my booking process Yianni and Georgina were very accommodating and helpful with any questions I had and always felt I was looked after from day one.
Highly recommend the Navarra venues for any event you have or even have your wedding there. I can t wait to plan the wedding day!

I m not one to normally leave a bad review but this one has to be done.
To say we are extremely disappointed with Navarra Venues Conca D oro is an understatement.
Navarra Venues have refused our refund of a booking fee, thousands of dollars, for our engagement party event which can no longer go ahead due to COVID-19 restrictions imposing limits on gatherings, social distancing rules and other measures.
I have sought legal advice on this.
I refer to the doctrine of frustration, the position in Australian contract law regarding frustration of a contract is that a contract will be 'frustrated' when an event (unprovided for in the contract) renders the contract practically incapable of being performed, not by fault of either of the parties.
Navarra Venues have completely disregarded their obligations under Australian contract law and continue to stand by the position that they are not providing refunds.
The global pandemic was not at fault of either party.
I note the A Current Affair, Channel 9 segment which aired on 27 May 2020. The brand was named and shamed, and it was clear they have been taking advantage of many other customers too.
I don t know how they sleep at night operating their business like this and knowing they are treating their valued customers this way.

What these customers are expecting are completely unreasonable. The venue is good enough to allow rescheduling at now fee at their cost, because one more date is taken, what more do people want?
Navarra events would have around 200 events on their schedule and at say, $5000 each, they would have received around $1 million in deposit to keep the organisation going on an ongoing basis, paying staff and upkeep, taxes, council rates. They are not lawyers so this money isn't held in trust - they are allowed to spend it, as you would too if you do any work for people and receive a down-payment. Not only that Navarra is losing tens of thousands of dollars every day because of the shut down, all their staff are out of work, and you expect that company to have what? millions in reserve to pay out people just in case a pandemic comes? They are physically unable to do it without going bankrupt.
Imagine if you're airtasking and the company that you work for go out of business, so the project that you have been working on is wasted, and then the boss saying to you that they need the money they paid you back - is this a reasonable request?
This is a bad time for everyone - businesses are people too. Heart and dreams and livelihoods of hundreds of people. People don't have to lose that deposit if they don't want to, no one is stopping anyone from having an event. But where is Navarra going to get its money back? Is this company and its staff not going through enough? This is no fault of their own. Or does this couple, news.com.au, and the internet army wants this business to go bankrupt by paying out a few people so every other couples will lose their deposits too and not be able to have an event at all, and hundreds of people will be out of work?
These are good people, honest, hard working people. If you think that couple is hard done by, you can give them money. But writing bad reviews to drive people away to ruin people's businesses and its hundreds of staff is the absolute worst thing anyone can do.

I can write a whole book on how amazing the venue is, the experience we had and the unparalleled service that was provided. On top of that the price is unbeatable.
In short, THIS IS A MUST HAVE venue for ANY occasion if you wish to make your event memorable.
I massive shout out to IAmJadeTheMC for keeping our night on track and doing an impeccable job of it, to the staff members who were consistent and constant with correspondence and a shout out to Anson our (Alex room) room manager and John our personal server for the night.

The process of dealing with some navarra staff was horrible. Started off awesome until we were assigned a different manager. Treated us well and promised the world until we paid our first $15k deposit so we were stuck with them. Alot of important information were left out so make sure you know what to expect before signing anything.
This is not a wedding business, its just business. I get a business must profit from the wedding to keep running however they take profiting to an all new level and despite the high pricing, navarra is not flexible at all.

I see that everybody else is having the same problem that we are with Navarra Venues refusing to deliver the refund they are contractually required to provide after Navarra cancelled weddings.
I also notice that they are now responding to these complaints suggesting that we just call them.
Well Navarra, what use would that be??? We have tried contacting you numerous times by both email and phone, you do not respond.
Absolutely pointless you making these false promises to work cooperatively when we have been trying to cooperate with you for months now, only for you to ignore all of our attempts.

Disgraceful organization. Cancelled the wedding and refused to provide the refund we are entitled too, despite legitimate reasons why we cannot postpone, and despite a clear contract clause in your own terms and conditions entitling us to a refund in these circumstances.
I note your standard response to other similar feedback asking them to contact you to discuss and sort this out. Well, we have been trying to discuss this, and trying to come to an amicable solution for over 2 months now, but you have stopped responding to our phone calls and emails completely.
So it would appear your advice to contact you isn't going to be overly helpful.

I have also had the privilege of knowing the Navarra family and attending their venues as a guest for half a century. I cannot speak highly enough of the integrity of this hard working family and the esteem with which they are regarded within the Italo-Australian and wider Australian community. Filippo and his sons Sal and John have dedicated their lives to satisfying their customers. I have watched this organisation grow from humble beginnings to a network of the finest social and corporate venues in Australia. One star is too much. Google does not allow a zero star rating unfortunately. Do not ever use the services of this company. Never have I dealt with a company with less integrity than Navarra Venues. This company would make Shylock from Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice' look like a paragon of virtue.
I had a booking at one of the company's venues which was held for a total of just over three months (97 days to be exact) and cancelled more than a year in advance. The company refused to refund any part of the booking fee.
Eventually I took my grievance to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) on the basis that the terms of the contract that company were relying on to retain the booking fee constituted unfair terms within the meaning of section 23 of the Australian Consumer Law. On the day of the conciliation at NCAT the company came entirely unprepared in that they made no effort to address any of my submissions nor did they do any legal research whatsoever. Throughout the process the company made no genuine effort to resolve the dispute. It seems the company does not take such matters seriously.
At the NCAT conciliation the dispute was settled and orders were made accordingly and the company to this date has not complied with those orders. Again it seems that the company does not take legal proceedings seriously, nor it seems their reputation.

I would not recommend Navarra Venues to anyone, their customer service is atrocious and absolutely disgusting in the wedding business. You do not feel as a valued client or even important when planning your own wedding.

I cannot thank your team enough for the AMAZING wedding my husband and I had yesterday 27th November 2020 AT 4:30PM. COVID was a hard time that hit you guys especially with A Current Affair putting you guys on blast so publicly which raised concerns for everyone who booked with you but you know what? I was explained clearly by the sales staff the contract, I asked as many questions as I could and everything i was concerned about was answered, VERY WELL, I loved your venue and I ensured my head was concentrated on what I signed up for because this is the downfall of human society especially those who focus so much on themselves they don't understand or see the fine details of what they signed up for. So to a current affair your defamation of Navarra Venues was uncalled for, this has blown everything out of porportion!!! We as a society already have enough issues because of COVID and there have been too many redundancies already in this country!!!

CURZON HALL - The place is stunning!!! We had the eternal garden for our wedding ceremony which was amazing and the Banquet room as our reception!! Weddings are stressful enough but I was organised enough with my own supplier for the cake, photo booth, bonbinerre and all printing required. My venue coordinator did everything else I trusted her styling organisation and presentation for my wedding. I communicated what I wanted and she delivered it and more!! EVERY GUEST WAS AMAZED BY THE DESIGN AND ORGANISATION!!! YOU GUYS HAVE DONE SUCH AN AMAZING JOB!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! If you want to have your event here I say go for it!! You will have great service and if you ask the right questions you will enjoy the organising for your event - if you let these bad reviews stop you then you're missing out on a very epic night!!! Oatlands House is owned by Navarra Venues. If you read the reviews for Navarra Venues, you will see I am not alone in giving a poor review. Here is the nitty gritty:
WHERE IS THE PROFESSIONALISM?
1. We experienced a complete change in attitude once they got the first deposit from us. They complain about their late working hours making you feel like you are keeping them from going home, they rushed through our meeting and got really annoyed that we already had our own cake and florist organised. You sense they are only there to make commission.
MISTAKES WILL BE MADE ON YOUR NIGHT!
2. There is no consistency at this place. The person who deals with the financial side is different to the person you deal with when planning your day and again on your day the person is different again. What does this mean? Information is not passed over to the manager that is there on your day and details are missed. So communication is lost between the dj, manager, mc and things will go wrong. You don't think it will because they ask you to put everything in writing but it appears no one bothers to read it properly.
FORGET THE GARDENS - YOU CAN'T USE THEM
3. You don't have access to the gardens. Oatlands House told us that on your day you have full access to the grounds for photos, telling you that they just rotate couples around the gardens for photos.
No. That is not true. We were told on our day that we could only stay in one small spot for photos as they had other functions on that night. Bottom line is don't rely on this place for nice photos. Thank goodness we didn't!
THEY CHARGE YOUR TEENAGE GUESTS FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
4. Our adult guests package included meals with alcoholic beverages. We had to pay the same amount for our teenage guests. When we asked for our 12 - 17 year old guests to be charged the adult package price that does not include alcoholic beverages, we were told this was not possible. So you essentially pay for a drinking package for teenagers that of course can not drink. If you have a few teenagers this adds up quite quickly.
THE ONE STAR
The one star goes to the cooks as the food is delicious and the waiters/waitresses who look after your guests. The portions are not large but they are filling and presented well.
THE FOLLOW UP
This place is purely about business. There is no follow up email after you day. No personal touch if you know what I mean. We got this from all other vendors from our day, everyone from our hairdresser to our photographer.

They provide no support during this time but ask for more money and say that if our event is cancelled, we don't get the tens of thousands of dollars back because they can eventually deliver on their promise.
The copy and paste response given to all the reviews here show how little Navarra care for their customers, but rather see them as a number and income.

The abusive phone calls are not because of COVID-19 but rather because of the owners of Navarra incapability to care or have any morals in regards to their customers but rather just care for their own income.
I feel for the staff who are always friendly, but have to stick to horrible requirements and treat customers like rubbish to keep a job.
no point in the contract does it say you're allowed to postpone an event and the customer isn't entitled to any refund whatsoever. How is it fair to force postponement when some couples are unable to but would rather cancel? Cancelling means losing life savings for many couples.

My best friend is getting married at a Navarra venue, she now has anxiety and is terrified that her savings will be taking away from her to benefit a rich company whilst she suffers with no respite in sight. She has lost her job due to COVID, has a wedding that the venue are forcing postponement on and won't even negotiate giving some money back as now all she can afford is a small wedding ceremony at a Greek Church. Meanwhile, $14k is sitting with the family at Navarra for an event they will never deliver.
We are all suffering right now, it's not time to play against your bookings.
