[This is the email I sent my mom after I talked to the service department.]

Your car had the bad luck to have the ignition coil fail right about the same time you had it in the shop for the other three things (new servo motor in the dash, new spark plugs, and new tires).

With labor, replacing the ignition coil would have cost about $300-$350 and they actually did that twice (first with a usually reliable aftermarket unit so they could get your car back to you as soon as possible, then when that unit failed, they drove to Grand Rapids today to pick up a second one this time a genuine Toyota unit).

So they spent a lot of time and dropped almost $700 on parts and labor without charging you a penny even though it wasn't their fault. If the ignition coil had failed a month before or after then you would have had to pay for it yourself.

Not to mention they had your car towed twice at their expense from your house to their dealership to try to fix the problem that wasn't their fault.

They also spent a lot of time today starting the car and driving it around periodically to see if the problem reappeared (it didn't).

They also kept it overnight so they can try to reproduce the problem from a cold start in the morning. Then Kevin will call you or you can call him.

That's the kind of car dealership you want.

update: The next morning they delivered her car to her driveway and rang the doorbell instead of making her arrange a ride to the dealership to pick it up.

UPDATE: 10/3/18. Yesterday I contacted Mike K, dealership manager, as was suggested. We discussed my issues, he listened and wanted to make things right. He and I came to a very satisfactory agreement and I am very pleased with the results. I have been in sales for a good part of my 42 year working career and disclosure is vitally important; a customer/potential client should be made aware of all aspects of a purchase, all aspects of service provided. I encourage this dealership salespersons and service persons to keep this in mind. Then perhaps the situation I went through won t happen to someone else. My confidence has been restored after working with Mike.

Recently took delivery of a 2018 Toyota Camry XSE, loaded with options, including the Entune package for an extra $1,800. It is great that salespersons know their vehicles to sell and know that the Entune package is only available if the car owner has an IPhone. Easy to add to the sales price, more commission, more dollars to the company, however at no time did a sales person disclose that the Entune package requires use of an IPhone during the sales process. Nor did I have an entire brochure where it should have been disclosed. Totally unknown to me. The sales manager was so proud to tell me he queried the sales staff to understand if they knew the Entune package required an IPhone and he marveled that they all knew. It was the wrong question to ask the sales staff, the question should have been how many sales persons disclose this fact to a potential buyer. I wonder what the answer would have been. I ve tried to get the $1800 back but the suggestion I was given was go out and buy an IPhone. Some suggestion as I have no intention of buying an IPhone at this time. Being a senior citizen I am quite comfortable with my current phone, truly believe I was taken advantage of with absolutely no consideration to make this right.

My second incident was a vandalism claim on my car which required body work. I made the appointment and delivered my car only to find out that My Auto does not have a body shop to do the repairs, they contract out with a provider in Grand Rapids. This was never disclosed to me. As an insured I have the right to take my car to the body shop of my choosing and I would have kept the dollars with a local provider. Again, no disclosure, how was I to know a body shop didn t exist at My Auto.

Seems this dealership has a problem with disclosures to customers.

I must say that I previously owned a 2009 Toyota Camry LE and consistently took this car to My Auto for all servicing over a nine year period and always enjoyed my relationship with the service staff. Not sure what has changed, but my new purchase is a bit of sour grapes based on failure to disclose and my loss of $1,800. It is extremely emotional to sit in this wonderful new car and stare at the Entune options that are not active to me.

We went to this dealership to buy a used Subaru, the vehicle is not the issue with this place it's the customer service. Be prepared because this is going to be a long review.
We sold the car I went there with to the dealership, and it is the dealership's responsibility, if they buy the car from you, to pay off the balance of that car, which mine did. He asked me to write down the 10 day pay off, which I wrote down the 10 day, 20 day & the full account balance on the paper he gave me. After about 2 weeks, when my old car payment was due, I was getting calls from that loan company saying that I owed money on it. When I had told them that the dealership bought that car and they were paying for it she informed me that they didn't pay off the full amount. When I called the dealership and left voicemails , no one called me back. It took us calling back and refusing to be put into someone's voicemail. When I finally got in touch with someone, they said to pay the balance and they'll "see what they can do about a refund." Which I never got.
Now onto the actual payment for the car I bought. It was going on a month in, and didn't get a bill. I called and left voicemails again, and after leaving multiple I got a call back saying that the wrong name was on the loan, and that I needed to send a picture of my name with the address to his cell so he can set it up correctly. The number he gave me didn't exist when I tried to send it, called back and left voicemails and I NEVER got a call back.
You can find a decent car anywhere, go there. This place will never call you back about issues that you have or questions. Anyone who tells me their looking for a car I will steer them in the opposite direction of this place.

My husband and I had a great experience with Rob Gould. He was genuinely concerned for what was best in my budget- he did not push what was our limit. He followed up on concerns we had months later, way beyond what he was responsible for.
My 2001 Outback had been owned by one woman who continuously brought it to be serviced at this shop- she faithfully kept all the records of their oil changes and maintenance. It was great peace of mind to buy an older vehicle that was so well taken care of from this dealership!

I had my eyes set on a Subaru Forester for many years. All my friends who own Subarus have been very happy with their vehicles. I liked my previous vehicle, but I really couldn't wait to get a Subaru. The day finally arrived because my former lease was up and I was told my options were limited. I decided to take a leap of faith and go to the Subaru dealership and see what they could do. AnDre was very helpful and drew out many options for me to choose from. After about a week or so, I was ready to pick up my new Forester. They made it a very easy process and fit a plan to my budget. My dream of driving a Forester has come to fruition and I couldn't be happier!

I thoroughly researched Subaru Forester's before heading out to the dealerships. I had an appointment at another dealership on the day before going to My Auto Import / Subaru of Muskegon. The attention I received from My Auto Import solidified my decision to purchase from them and to not go back to the other dealership. They are very attentive and will work with you to get you in the vehicle of your dreams! I am extremely pleased with my decision. I couldn't have asked for a better salesperson either ~ Katie Brown was just terrific! She got me everything I wanted and more and stayed within my budget! Kendall Kuharevicz was awesome in going over all the bells & whistles in my new Forester! I drove away feeling very confident! Definitely recommend this dealership and if you have these ladies helping you out - you won't be disappointed! Great Job!!

Went to look at Toyota Camrys and ended up buying one. Shadric was great! He was very patient and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Everyone else I interacted with were also top notch. Highly recommend My Auto Imports and if you're looking talk to Shadric!

It may not be your whole company but the only person I dealt with left a bit to be desired. I felt as if the sales people were drawing straws to see who was going to have to help my wife and I. When someone finally did help us he acted as though we were wasting his time. We wanted to purchase a new Jetta. We found one in a color we liked but it didn't have the options we wanted. We test drove a black one with all the options we wanted and really liked it but we did not want black. We asked if we could get it in a different color and he told us what we saw was what you had, but he could get us a deal on the black one. I replied that it would have to be a pretty good deal. He invited us in and had us wait at his desk for almost half an hour before coming back and telling us we would have to pay sticker. I don't mind paying sticker but don't have us wait around for a car we told you we didn't want it you aren't going to move on it at all. So the next day we bought a new car at another dealership, in our color and even more options than the Jetta and couldn't be happier with it. It was a bit more expensive but we were treated like a valued customer instead of a burden.

Great place to purchase a car. We bought the 2013 Toyota Avalon and the whole sales experience was excellent. We've had the car in for routine service twice now and have not had any problems with their service department, it has also been excellent. The people working in sales and service have all been very polite and friendly. They also have an excellent waiting area where you can have a hot or cold beverage and log on to the internet for surfing while you wait.

Received wonderful service. Was approached by Shadric (dealer) as I walked up to the front door. He asked me what I was looking for and was more than willing to accommodate; letting me test drive any car I had interest in. Was willing to offer other suggestions to cars like the Honda Civic I had my eye on, but didn't try and force anything on me. Was able to take a test drive that covered a wide-range of driving conditions to see how the car handled in more than just "perfect" road conditions. The purchase process was very painless and simple. Everything that was offered was well explained and nothing felt forced like I had been expecting. Was a little sad to not get a good interest rate on my loan, but understandable with having little credit history and just starting a new job not too long ago. Overall was a great experience.

Andre Coffee was friendly and very knowledgeable. He presented our different package options clearly and helped us weigh the relative merits of new vs. used cars fairly. He did a great job of explaining how we could get a 0% financing deal. When I had a possible problem with my car (oil light flickered on) on the same day I had to travel for a family crisis, the service department was wonderful about putting me at the front of the line and taking care of my car right away so I felt secure to travel. We will definitely be buying another Subaru (our cars made it through this awful winter with no problem whatsoever) when our Forester dies, and we look forward to working with Andre again.

My buying experience with this dealership has been terrible. I've asked why the car I'm interested in suddenly went up in mileage (with no reduction in price mind you). Rob Gould told me that "it's being daily driven by one of the sales men". Ok i was fine with that. I've asked if they could stop abusing the car while I'm in the middle of purchasing it (because that's not appealing to the buyer) but the manager said they would not put the car on hold despite my offer to place a security deposit. I'm not even upset about my credit score getting hurt by tens of inquiries they did. I'm upset that they wasted my time and energy for two weeks. I'm also not upset that they can't put it on hold, its first come first serve I get it. But at least stop abusing the very car you're selling. Be careful with used cars you buy here. You'd hate to know it was abused by a sales man beforehand.

Thank you Jack Dempsey. After surviving a sideswipe by a Tractortrailer on a Michigan interstate, my wife and I had to replace the car we had grown to love, and felt safe in. Since we were near our daughter's home in Mich we went to My Auto Imports and were fortunate to have Jack as our sales rep. We were buying a new car somewhat under pressure, and while I had done my homework on the internet, Mr Dempsey ended up making the car buying experience the best I have had in my life of 70 years. What impressed my wife and me, was that he actually "listened" to us. He then used his knowledge to suggest several options, each time listening to our responses, and helping us narrow the search. In the end, my wife and I both feel it was the best auto buying experience we have ever had. And though we live in Florida, we travel to Mich. regularly, and plan to have our auto serviced at this dealership also. I simply can't say enough good things about this capable, personable young man. We thank you, and wish you the best. Ask for him, you won't be disappointed.

I live much closer to 28th Street in Grand Rapids than the lake shore, and I made the drive out to Muskegon to compare My Auto Imports to our local Subaru dealer. I didn't expect to purchase a car out there, but I'm glad that I did. I love my new Subaru Forester, and I can't say enough about the personalized attention my family received from our salesperson AnDre' Coffee and his protege Jeremiah. We also had an opportunity to interact with Bill Ferry, who made us feel like a member of the family. My husband brought my vehicle in for an oil change. We live in Holland. On the way, he had a driving scare (he has MS). Thankfully no one was injured but he was so shook up when he arrived at My Auto that Bill Ferry offered to drive him all the way back to Holland with a follow car so he could get back to Muskegon. THAT is going above and beyond for the customer! We are so grateful for all the great people at My Auto, but especially for Bill during this visit.

The express lube was used for an oil change and battery check. I was expecting about 1/2 hour to complete but it was more than 3/4 hour time frame which I felt was a bit too much. I was not given any time table when I arrived, only that to "get right on it". Everything was done as requested but not being told of a long wait for express service is irritating. I have used other Subaru express service lanes with cars seen in front of mine but never took this amount of time this service did. Four stars barely for a rating, closer to 3 1/2 stars..

Sales process went well. I felt we recieved a fair deal and we love the Rogue. The delivery took far to long. The vehicle had to be recleaned because there was shipping tape still on it, residue on the windows from the stickers and glue left over from the protective shipping tape on the hood. The salesman didn't know much about the vehicle and they didn't fill the gas tank. He had to follow to the gas station so the tank could filled. What should of taken 20 minutes turned into 1.5 hours. We came back 2 days later once we did the paperwork to pick the Rogue up. They had plenty of time to make sure this was right before we arrived.

I am a last minute person and of course you can never know when your car will need service. Whenever I have a problem I can always walk in, call and make an appointment or talk directly to Eric about my needs. He is always willing to go an extra 1,000 miles to make sure that my son and I are driving in a safe car. Eric is also very willing to help out with cost. Not every day is a payday! Honestly though, I trust Eric and his team and I will always bring my vehicles to My Auto :) Thank you!

Before lockdown I bought a 2018 Nissan with low 40k miles on it. Put around 4K on it and brought it in because it was leaking oil on my new driveway. Was told it would be 600 to fix. They said it was leaking oil out of the stripped out oil plug and oil filter. Also the rear brakes were bad. I m feeling their certification doesn t mean much. They offered 10% off. Still was nearly 600 by the time all was said and done to fix problems they didn t address before selling it.

I did not feel like they were trying to push any vehicles onto me or over sell me something. Regan was friendly and willing to work around my schedule and take the time to really review everything with me so there were no surprises.

I have been doing business with My Auto since 2003. They really cater to my needs. My last acquisition was truly a challenging one. John Gongalski knows that I am particular about the small details. He was a true champion and was able to obtain the car that I wanted through another dealership rather than trying to push a similar vehicle that was on their lot. I had just recently purchased a vehicle from My Auto Import. It was a really nice buying experience at the time but looking back I can't help but feel like I was rushed into the whole purchase. I truly am regretting the whole purchase but now feel stuck in a loan for the next 5 years. I had not had the time to truly look over everything and after I bought it I found that there were a few things wrong with it (lights, phone charger, power seat). After enduring a miserable experience at another Subaru dealership, I contacted My Import of Muskegon as I noticed they had my vehicle in inventory. What were my expectations when calling? To be honest, something along the lines of the typical name/phone number harvesting followed by a bloated quote. What did I get? Jason Meekhof picked up the phone and, within moments, provided me with an extremely competitive quote. It was clear to me that Jason was familiar with the product and knew exactly what he was doing. This was a complicated transaction as it involved a trade-in and the dealership was three hours away from my home. Jason was extremely professional, provided excellent communication through the entire process and, most importantly, followed through with everything he stated. The dealership experience was top notch and the finance manager Bill Ferry worked quickly and efficiently to assure that I was able to get back home to my family. It was well worth the drive and they have gained a customer for life. Do yourself a favor, bypass the typical dishonest sale runaround and talk to true pro's Jason and Bill at My Import of Muskegon.

I finally decided to buy a new car after putting 295,000 (very happy with this Toyota) miles on a 2005 Toyota Highlander. My husband and I decided it was a no brainer to purchase another Toyota. I had it narrowed down to a Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid (41 miles to a gallon) and knew basically what options I wanted. My Auto Import Center kept coming up on my internet searches and I soon realized they had a large inventory of RAV4's. My husband and I went on a Saturday, mid morning, and were very pleasantly surprised to find exactly what I was looking for. We met with Shadric who demonstrated all the details of the SUV and answered all my questions.
