I have to edit my previous review of 1 star, because after the negative experience I had the first evening, the hotel truly worked to step it up. The attendants were helpful, and although the hotel was full, they shuffled some things around were able to accommodate me to a new and even upgraded room to make my stay more comfortable. I appreciate the effort!

(PREVIOUS REVIEW TO FOLLOW)

The WORST experience I have had in a hotel...and I travel a ton. Check in took ages, but at least the front desk attendants were nice. The biggest issue I had was the room - the balcony was facing the pool and it is IMPOSSIBLE to rest in that room. The music gets louder by the hour and there is an incessant thumping. I called the front desk to be moved and while they were willing to help, I had to spend the night in the extremely loud and unpleasant room

I am staying at the hotel's fifth floor as I am writing this. We checked-in yesterday and, frankly, I am very disappointed. I expected to be offered something at the arrival (water maybe?). Our car got damaged by the valet parking staff. The room looks from last century. Curtains are dirty. Towels and bed mattress are poor quality and very old. So far, this is the worst hotel in our trip in California. The only positive feedback I can give is that the bar and pool area are awesome. Views to the city are outstanding.

What's not to love about an exclusive rooftop bar right on Sunset Blvd? My husband and I went with a couple of friends to the Skybar on our last night in LA to live the "LA experience" (we were visiting from NC) and it was everything we were hoping for.

Very close to the Tesse restaurant is this hotel, home of the pre and post civil wedding to which we went.

A hotel that smells very good, is the aroma that we could perceive in the Solar de las Animas hotel in Tequila Jalisco, very peculiar and pleasant.

The room was on the first floor , I really didn't like low floors but in the end room 103 was waiting for us to rest a bit and get ready for the event we had.

A large flat screen television, countless essential items and even those you can not imagine for sale, both outside and inside the minibar.

A very cool bar, here I tried mojitos deli, it is what I liked the most, the pina colada and the blody Mary did not love me, the good craft beer although a bit bitter for me taste but good, with a lot of atmosphere.

Super soft pillows, very comfortable bed and blankets, generally very comfortable.

The deposit is high, if everything goes well you will be returned at check-out the service is slow for the quality of the hotel, at the bar the service is excellent.

I invite you to write your own story, until the next and good trip !!!!!

It's a great and funky Hotel and a great location but it's also a popular night time destination. Several Knights could not access the amenities because private functions. Every night we could hear music in the room because of the functions happening in the bar

We enjoyed our stay here. Everyone was very nice. The room was cute and had a good view, good showers, and comfy bed. There were a few small details that missed the mark for a four star hotel - some chipped paint, scuff marks, dated elevators. The pool is also advertised as rooftop which it *technically* is but it's not on the top floor of the building - it's on the lobby level which is built over the 3 story parking garage. Overall, though, we enjoyed it and would return.

Even though we ve been here for the rainiest of times, the staff have been lovely and the rooms are a great size. We hope to come back during the summer to experience Sky Bar in full swing

I stayed for 3 nights in a studio suite with a balcony. The location is fantastic. Unfortunately it rained all 3 days so I did not get a chance to use the pool or other related amenities but I did spend a considerable amount of time in the room working. I loved the bathroom. Quite large with a shower/tub combo, a vanity and the bathroom also had a separate table, chair and close up mirror for make up. The bed was super comfortable and the sitting area had a couch/day bed as well as a large table perfect for doing work. I love that the Mondrian still has a mini-bar. It s a dying concept in most hotel chains but the mini-bar here makes up part of the fabric of the room and the experience. The service was better than I expected. The staff, especially the valet attendants and bellmen, were really friendly.

Let's just say I won't be back. It started with the valet ignoring me when I first pull in. Waited for 15 minutes to check in. Charged me a $500 security deposit a day after prepaying for the room. Ordered room service and got undercooked wings and a wilted salad. Room was noisy, water only got warm. Had to check out early and ask to cancel last day, said no and read the fine print. I WILL NOT BE BACK TO ANY OF THESE PROPERTIES

An extremely overrated hotel. The biggest issue was their payment method. They ONLY accept credit cards with magnetic strips. Not the more secure chip. So I ended up paying $3,000 in CASH and used a friend's card to cover a $200/ night which was another $1,600 security deposit. Otherwise they refused to check me in at 4am and were willing to let me walk out. All this happened and the night shift manager didn't even bother to step out of the office and left us talking to the front desk. In my over 500 hotel visits this was the worst check in experience I have ever had.
The rooms are big and nice but the furniture is old. The mattress is covered in plastic with a light cover over it. So basically you're sleeping on a bed that makes cracking noise, that's exactly how a 5 star hotel be should be.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Really nice lobby and pool area, plenty of drinking holes. Pool was packed because there was a pool party. I looked at the room prices and decided I would not drop that much dough for a room. Great location though.

The only good things about this place was the bed, balcony and location! The food and service was incredibly bad. I was checking in alone, after hubby had dropped the bags off earlier and sending me a picture of the luggage receipt but as my surname was different this was difficult. Sky bar service was more a game of hide and seek with the staff - even though it was a slow night. Cold/stale food was served after 45 minutes. The room service replacement meal was to be complimentary but they charged us.
The furniture was plastic and fittings metal - this made me a static mess and I was constantly receiving static shocks.

My wife and I spent the day and night there for our anniversary. We loved it. The pool was accessible, the waitress was prompt. We had dinner at the ivory and had a great time. The room was clean and big. We loved the fact we didn't have to leave the hotel site during our stay.

The lobby, pool area and restaurant are very vibrant and fun and fit the expectations for this hotel.

Once you get off the elevator onto your floor, you feel like you've been transported to a different hotel. The hallways are barely lit and the decor is dated. There's also a faint smell of old and the sounds of mechanical something or other. It really feels like the start of a horror movie.

I had high hopes for the room even after walking through the hallway. Unfortunately, those hopes were shattered pretty quickly. The rooms themselves feel like a cheap renovation of a 80s hotel room. Large floor to ceiling mirror wall, cheap 80s brown tile in the bathroom and off white curtains mixed with an overused white, wannabe expensive wallpaper and a too modern television stand monstrosity. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable.

My room was facing the city away from the pool and it was very quiet. I heard many others complain that the pool parties went on until 2 am and the partying continued in rooms until 4 am. If you want a good night's sleep, this is definitely not the hotel to pick. I would have probably rated the hotel 2 stars if I had a pool view room strictly for that reason.

The equivalent of Miami's Delano, the hotel attracts the hip and golden youth of Los Angeles. It is conveniently located next to Beverly Hills, Melrose Place and Hollywood.

The rooms are new and ultra spacious. The view over Los Angeles is breathtaking (11th floor). The decoration is modern, refined and vintage at the same time on the Californian theme. The insulation is excellent because the music resonates everywhere: swimming pool, reception and elevator.

The staff are very caring, and very warm.

Only downside: the swimming pool. Difficult to access because permanently occupied by the pool parties. To enter, you must either be a hotel guest or be outside and have an Abercrombie physique. As a result, the pool is permanently squatted by Barbie and Ken, who are drunk and think only of one thing. Should we favor hotel guests? And also provide a little calm per period.

The day is until 11 to 12 o'clock in the evening.
Young dancers and men waiting to be gathered outside are crowded
A little scared~ It is not recommended to bring children to this hotel.

Bang for buck the hotel is great, the rooms are a good size and the sky bar is great everyday. Our waitress Abbreah from sky bar was absalutly wonderful and made our days at sky bar the best!

Good hotel with great location if you prefer to be in the middle of the city. Free access to their Sky Bar is a big plus since it's a good place for cocktails and a bit of a party.
-1 star since rooms are small and a bit overpriced

2 very average days at Mondrian in February 2018. The rooms are old, the lobby is always cold but most of all the staff is inefficient and really not interested in your stay. Non hotel guest are treated much better when they visit the bar or restaurant. The best bit was when they removed the stools was sitting on to start preparing for a private party!! And not telling the client that pool is covered during winter is also very bad

Room was nice and well furnished. Very classy place. Didn't check out the amenities very much, parking was a pain but that's to be expected in Hollywood. We did have to wait a long time for extra towels.

Had an unexpected overnight stay in May 2017. Got a room easily at the Mondrian pretty easily. Everyone from the front staff to the support staff were wonderful. Each one always ended each time we spoke with "will there be any else I can do for you". We enjoyed our short stay and hopefully will take a longer one in the near future.

I looked at hotels and picked the Mondrian because the pool looked awesome. NOWHERE on their website did they say that the pool is enclosed in winter. Such a fraudulent misrepresentation of the amenities is ridiculous. The service was mediocre and the staff was snobby. I called the front desk and it took 15 minutes to reach a human being. No one was in sight when we couldn t get an Uber when we needed to check out and wanted to call a cab. They jacked up the prices All Star Weekend (which I wasn t there for) and we certainly felt ripped off. Check their website yourself ALL the pics of their beautiful pool and not even an *seasonal ANYWHERE. It was 70 degrees in February and every other hotel around had open pools but we couldn t switch hotels because of how busy it was.

False advertising is the use of misleading, false, or unproven information to advertise products to consumers or advertising that does not disclose its source. ... A false advertisement can further be classified as deceptive if the advertiser deliberately misleads the consumer, as opposed to making an honest mistake...They are guilty of false advertising and their canned response with today s weather report is not responsive. I am planning to contact the appropriate agencies. They need to stop misleading their guests. They have known this was an issue with disappointed guests who did not get what they paid for and have not added any verbiage or clarity about the pool only being open seasonally

Have stayed here about 30 times in the last two years, and each time I'm asked 'Is this your first time here?'. Has consistently been one of my favourite places to stay in LA. The rooms are great, staff is very nice. Restaurant has gone downhill. Most of the wait staff is excellent, but had a very rude encounter with a waitress recently and have had multiple experiences of finding shells, rocks and poorly cooked food. Overall still a great hotel, just eat somewhere else.

Well, where do I start? From beginning to end it was an AWFUL experience. I dont ask for much. I stay at 4 and 5 star hotels all of the time, I have never left a review on one until now because I feel so compelled to warn others.

To start, I asked that champagne be waiting in the room to surprise my significant other upon arrival. key word surprise. Before we went up I verified with the front desk that everything was prepared. They said yes. As we were approaching the room, a gentlemen who appeared to be housekeeping was in the hallway and said .... " brought the ice bucket just in time" ?? Okay. way to ruin the surprise. We get into the room ready to do a toast and there are no champagne glasses. I had to called twice and then had to walk to the front desk and request that the glasses be brought up. In total it took 45 min before they FINALLY brought up the glasses.

But WAIT it gets worse. I go to the bathroom I can tell it hasn't been mopped bc there was a small piece of tissue of the floor and the tile looked a little dingy. But I wasn't going to make it an issue. However, We go to shower to get ready for the evening and the TUB IS DIRTY. There was hair , multiple small strands that anyone with decent vision would have spotted. The water faucets clearly hadn't been wiped. As I am typing this I wish I took photos. I call immediately for someone to clean it and you guessed it, another 45 minutes and I had to call twice before someone came. Housekeeping comes to clean it, she was in the bathroom for about ten minutes. My boyfriend and I were on the bed so we couldn't see what she was doing. I could see from the position of the bed out of my peripheral that she was mopping. She leaves, we thank her then I go to get back in the shower, and it looks the EXACT SAME, I was SO PERPLEXED AND DISGUSTED. DID NO ONE COMMUNICATE THAT IT WAS THE TUB THAT NEEDED TO BE CLEANED? I FELT LIKE I WAS IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE. At this point I proceeded to take a shower because we were already running late bc of the delay. I spent the rest of the weekend cringing because the bathroom was not properly cleaned.

On top of lack of cleanliness. This hotel was either short staffed or lacked a sense of urgency. EVERY SINGLE TIME I called the front desk and asked for water I was transferred to housekeeping who then transferred me to room service. or vice versa. One morning I was on the phone for five minutes just simply trying to get water brought to the room. and you can probably guess at this point how long it took. 30-45 minutes as I die of thirst, I have NEVER in my life experienced this type of inconvenience at a 4 star hotel at $250 a night.

The team at the front desk were so nice. Its just a shame that the back of the house could not deliver. Please take your hard earned money and stay some where else. What a disappointment. I wouldn't stay here again if I were being held at gun point.

Also, your patio chairs are dingy.

West Hollywood has no shortage of beautiful people...

West Hollywood has no shortage of beautiful people and to me Skybar is one of the few places that's view actually matches the crowd. You can have all the decorations and interior design in the world, but a view in something that to me sets them apart. The pool is nice and quaint and exactly where you would imagine a fashion show runway to be set up. Actually I'm pretty sure this has happened here.

I've been here for weeknight caps, and on the weekends, but my preference is weeknights. People aren't so amped to rage and it's pretty popular with the locals versus myself an out of Towner.

I was told it was guest list only from 8pm to 2am, but I never once called ahead and never really waited in line too much or was hassled. A nominal tip and I was in, but keeping the ratio right is always a plus so I usually roll solo or +2 females, though I have heard of tight bouncers enforcing the rule. Attempt to bypass the guest list rule at your own risk.

For a bar with club hours they have some pretty impressive wine's, but in the preferred drink of choice is Champagne and they are all pricey. I tend to stick with beer or Whiskey as Makers, Jameson are their bottom shelf stuff. I really like how they've stepped up their craft cocktail game with The Pedigree (salty dog with basil), Acai lemonade (lemonade, cranberry juice and veev acai). A few others use champagne like the Fluer-de-l' citrus and the French pear martini. Though I only tried these, I never drank them they were orders for my guests I can say their construction was excellent and though too fruity for me (except the Pedigree) I would highly recommend going with a cocktail versus a 2 ingredient drink.

Staff are pretty pro, it's not that they are nice, but they are tip hungry, heck the whole pool lounge/bar industry seems to expect bottle service to be the norm and black cards a plenty. I am not baller, but you must come prepared to drop a pretty penny on a night out here whether a round for you and your posse or the lovelies across the way. Security is pretty laxed as long as you're having good clean fun. I've been able to vape, but I've also been asked not to, so the rules are mixed, but then again it's a matter of getting in with it as they do check cigarettes and I've seen people walk all the way back to their car. Prices are high, but it's LA, no it's West Hollywood with a view so look to double or triple your usual pricing. It's surprisingly warm from what I think are thermals because usually balcony's or rooftop pools are cooler than below, but not here. Parking sucks.

Too many variables could ruin your night out here like parking, guest list, drink prices, so I can't give it 5 stars, but it's a solid 4+ if you do get in and can skirt the typical LA-ness.

A more miserable experience could not be had. We booked a corner king suite for 4 people. It only had one bed. It then took over 4 hours for the roll away beds to arrive after requested. The room had no toilet paper. The pool scene was prostitutes and drug dealers; none of which were actually hotel guests. The interior is dated and dilapidated.
