Mondrian Hotel West Hollywood Review

Won a trip to go to the VMAs and they booked me in this hotel... Absolutely hated it. I'm from NJ and the people were completely different. Plastic surgery and barbie like girls running everywhere. The hotel had WAY too much air freshener. I could taste it as soon as I walked in. Took an hour and a half to get our luggage after we called for it. Parking is ridiculous, you have to tip every single time you get your car too. I ended up tipping the valet guy 3 times in one day. Water pressure in the shower was horrible and there was hair in the bed. OH! and i'm 24 and wasn't allowed in the pool area unless I had my license.. NOT EVEN TO TAKE A PICTURE! If you were under 21 you weren't allowed in the pool area at all. Absolutely ridiculous hotel, I would NEVER stay there again.

Good location. Clubs are within walking distance, like Hyde Sunset and Skybar. Rooms are cool and comfortable.

Not as good as it used to be but still worth a visit

I went to the Skybar on a Wednesday night. A very beautiful location with a great chill atmosphere. The drinks are good and the service good. I know on the weekends the vibe is much more upkey but for a nice weekday date or place to meet friends it is perfect.

Very modern hotel with standard amenities. The pool is very active night and day with highly fashionable party goers.

Moon party at the Mondrian! This is a beautiful venue with beautiful people that hosted a super fun moon party. The female DJ Michelle was a delight to watch. The model looking like men and women strutting around as if on a runway. The crowd was a good mix of ages from young to bold from ripe to cool old. There was a main photographer and his art set up that was fantastic. The music was groovy and poppin. The hotel itself is very shiek and sleek. The drinks were good and right on. The lit up aqua pool had a golden swan floatie floating around. People were everywhere socializing and dancing. They had a photo OP machine that took your snap chat type video and sent it to your email. The host Jochie was a buzzing bee making sure everyone was taken care of and was having fun. What a memorable moon party in Hollywood it was! Fantastic night with friends! A must go!

Servers were awesome! Wish they had more options for brunch

Two hours late to check in. Tiny room at $500 a night. Budget toiletries. No bath and terrible service. I wouldn t come back. If you have the chance please stay somewhere else. So disappointed. Came all the way from London

Well located hotel with exceptional concierge service and spacious rooms. The hotel restaurant, though expensive, is excellent.

Stopped in for drinks at the pool side bar and the atmosphere was awesome. The bartender was friendly and offered a wide variety of options. This is a great place to stop at if you're looking for a laid back atmosphere to have a good drink with good friends.

NO NO NO NO , don't stay here, I gave them a second chance since last year and they got worst for LA local standards
So I live 2 blocks from the hotel and overtime I have friends in town I book hotels so they can stay close to my place, every time we stay at the Andaz everything is flawless no drama I even get free macaroon at the room as a compliment and its average 300 a night
So last year people were so rude at the pool so rude because they have their trashy pool parties, so I told myself I m never staying with my friend here again.
But it s 2 blocks away from my condo so we gave it another chance.
My friend were exhausted flying from NY and they wanted to go to the pool, as soon as we check in they were sorry you booked from anther site so for 305 dollars you get one bed only sorry !! if you want 2 beds it will be 400 lol . I was like I m so tired I don't want to argue , well I said remove the hotel silly fees of 25 per night and I will upgrade . NO they couldn't so anyways we just wanted to get some sun by the pool .
They said to me: don't worry about the pool party Hotel guests have priority LOL ( not true) we go to the pool I show my room card and this hotel staff puts his hand in my face saying wait you gotta wait people in front of you. meaning trashy people that are coming to the trashy pool party . Then I left my ID in my car so NO you need id I don't care you are a hotel guest you need ID. 2 hours earlier my good friends from Australia checked in tired flying from NY and I recommended this hotel, they said to me: after we checked in and showed our passport this people won't let us come in to the pool !!!
HORRIBLE by now we are 6 hotel guest who spend a couple of thousands in roms trying to use the pool No you cant come in I went to get my id took me 45minutes no laying chairs for guest at the pool me and my friends were so upset all reserved for the trashy pool party people who were all friends with thus promoter , he did not let me get in whitout my id but he was giving hugs to his friends and all going in without checking ID.
The place is packed with people from Inglewood I don't know the tackiest crowd ever horrible Not want the see in west hollywood . anyways we gave up !!
Worst customer service ever . the room

We wanted to plug in a charger all the outlets dints work except for one we found working. we wanted to play music the little cheap music plater Didn't work broken !! are you kidding mer, the back wall light fixture didn't work either lol then we wanted a drink the mini bar was room temperature not cold lol so I went to get a bottle of champagne at my house and a speaker for music , came back NO ICE you have to call front desk and I got ice after 45 minutes anyways we gave up

Don't usually write reviews but our waiter was super awesome.. He was on it and super friendly if you want good customer service and a good vibe this is the spot so shout out to our waiter, Angel!! .

Cocktails were delish, staff lovely, and there was an amazing view of La La Land from here. The pool wasn't as big as it looks and there were a few kids bopping about in it on the Saturday afternoon making it a little murky, and I wasn't in the mood for splashing. Sorry kids. It was my day off!

Really bad service, even include the value parking. People there have discrimination for Asian. I will never recommend it and go there again.

It's got that modern vibe with views of the city from the pool and restaurant areas. The hotel has finished it renovations which means that the paint smell is still there but undergoing the modern transformation makes it a hip place to stay and by the number of people smiling at the pool and around the lobby I'm not the only person thinking this is a good place to stay.

The WiFi is decent and not slow, the restaurant is above par, and I like it's breakfast with arugula sald with my eggs.

This is the hotel for us when we need to be near LA but not being directly in downtown LA.

Terrible hotel and not professional management.

I was charged $500 for smoking fees even though I never smoked in the room, on top of that the hotel is very loud and there are drunk people walking around everywhere.

We had a great time at the pool party during the day & a fun night out around the Mondrian. Unfortunately the customer service was subpar & we did not receive the pull out bed or extra pillows & blankets that we requested because they ran out. Overall we enjoyed it, but would have liked to feel more welcomed & taken care of.

Best pool side place.. for chilling and sun bathing on weekend afternoons..

Loved the restaurant, polite and helpful staff, solid bar, casual but classy atmosphere, felt welcome and would have stayed longer if I could. Will be back, and definitely recommend the dining experience, food felt thoughtful and prepared with care. And very clean bathrooms.

The hotel is lovely and the staff is very attentive. The adjacent restaurant Ivory is amazing and they gave us free champagne as a wedding toast. The pool bar is very crowded.

I have been looking forward to this Mondrian Los Angeles place for over a month after reading about it and it did not disappoint!

Swanky and fun hotel that boasts a day club pool and nightlife.

Booked 3 nights at the mondrian LA. It was made very clear on the site that all charges, hotel services, taxes and fees were inclusive the price. On arrival, the hotel charged additional fees including the resort fee totalling to $108.64. I am aware that hotels generally charge a resort fee in addition to the total cost, however on this particular listing there was no mention of additional fees and it was made clear that everything was included. I also have a receipt showing this. We would have not made the booking if we had of known of the additional undisclosed costs.

This was mentioned to the Mondrian staff at check-in and they advised that there is nothing they can do. When asked for a manager, simply responded they re not available with no care to investigate further. As for the Mondrian hotel head office, sent an email with the complaint and received nothing back.

As for Agoda, the booking agent acknowledged the price error and offered $15usd agoda cash to which I politely declined.

Be very careful if you decide to book with this hotel.

Nice hotel... But there isn't anywhere to put your clothes. No drawers. You have to stack your clothes up in the top of the closet

A great hotel. A little pricey, and gym pretty pathetic, but otherwise a very swanky place, and a great pool and restaurant.

Sold my room out from under me even though it was paid through Expedia. Left me on the street at 12am after my flight got delayed. How you don t call customer to confirm they are coming or atleast let them know you are overselling?? Never had this happen to me with traveling over 100 days a year. I m sure you don t care, but you ll never get my business again nor will I suggest our clients at our travel agency book with you either.

I wish I could give 0 to this place. I'm in the 8th floor and they're doing construction on the next floor. What kind of hotel book guests right on the floor under an on going construction?

Poolside at the Mondrian is the place to be in LA if you're looking to relax, grab a drink, and meet gorgeous people. I encourage anyone coming to LA to grab their shorts, and spend an afternoon at Skybar, hopping in and out of the pool. There is always a crowd Friday, Saturday, and Sunday by the pool, so it's a perfect place to wade into the water with a drink in hand make some new friends. It's starts up midday, and goes until the evening.

Skybar had great views and awesome atmosphere. Drinks were a little on the higher side but expected. Beer list is basically non-existent.

Love this hotel! The sky bar is a great place to sit and people watch and the pool area complete with day time DJ is a great place to sit, relax and tan!

Would definitely recommend.

Be aware that there is a massive construction project just next door to the hotel. We were woken up very early (5am) by it. This was not disclosed when we booked and was a surprise when we pulled up. Also the toilets are super noisy and the water was running on our constantly all night. If you are here to party and pass out maybe you will be able to sleep through all the noise. Finally was refunded for the night not stayed. It required jumping through some major hoops.

Went to dance to 90's music. The DJ didnt seem to know 90's music or was simply not doing her job. We also found other people running the DJ equipment...her friends?

A badly overpriced hotel with a nice restaurant. Let's start with the positives: Great location in West Hollywood. On premise restaurant was delicious and service at the restaurant was excellent.

Now for the hotel: Stupidly overpriced. Maybe I just got hosed with a last minute booking. But there are far better options available at that price point. Flimsy beds. Dated, worn-out hallways. When you walk down the hallways on the guest room floors, it does not look like a 4 star hotel. It looks like a motel. Rooms are so-so. Some stand-offish front desk people. Lots of random shady people hanging around the lobby.

Front desk grudgingly gives you a late checkout at 1pm on a $500+ per night suite.

The kicker: They billed me $80+ for less than 30 minutes of long distance calls. Some of the charges were for calls that went to voicemail so I hung up. Charged me something like $12 minimum per call, even ones that lasted 3 seconds. Manager on duty was absolutely a lit shook beta and ridiculous.

This would never happen at a place like the Mandarian but this is the Mondrian so, yeah. That's what you get. Avoid.

The Mondrian Hotel is located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. It is a modern furnished hotel with a well stocked minibar in the room. The hotel is clean, the staff is typically friendly (as everywhere in the US). Only the quality of the breakfast should be better. For that I have to deduct a star. Nevertheless, the hotel is recommended all in all.

This place is amazing I would reccomend everyone go there staff is nice everything is clean and it's just an amazing experience

If I had a good time here it was because I made it a good time. Very high end in price but not worth the price you end up paying in the end it was our first time staying in LA and we wanted to pay high end prices for the best experience we could get .. we booked our rooms months in advanced we asked for 2 room next to each other shared by a balcony and the employee we spoke to said that they could reserve that for us no problem. when we arrived the rooms were not available and we were told that that wasn't possible for them to do. our rooms were on the same floor but around the corner from each other it wasnt so bad but the rooms we booked were nice but advertised incorrectly ... To top it all off the fine print fees that they don't tell you about until after you booked the room and fly out came out to about 950 dollars extra on top of the amount we payed for the rooms some of that includes 44 a night for parking.we wanted to use the outside pool but it turns out that they had a company throwing an event so it was blocked off. So I gave it 2 stars because the rooms looked nice and it had nice a nice view

Thermostat not working properly. Room was either too cold or too warm. To change the temperature, maintenance had to come in and change it manually in the attic!! Room not equipped with a laundry bag or room service menu. One lamp did not work. Poor TV reception. Stations kept cutting out. Decor was nice and fun, recently re-decorated. Staff was very friendly and quick to respond to our needs. Overall, however, hotel just did not seem up to par with what one would expect.

Hotel ambiance was absolutely amazing this hotel spot was perfectly as well. I love our hotel room it was so nice and well clean with a super comfy bed.I love to stay in the rooftop cocktail lounge it was so refreshing and relaxing. Excellent customer service.

Bar setting was nice. Good place to go to for a quiet social evening.

I've stayed at the Andaz and 1 Hotel in the area and this is bar far the worst in terms of value and customer service.

Rarely write reviews but felt inclined to write this given:

1. The quality of the rooms is low.
2. The customer service is poor. They incorrectly charged me for something in the minibar and didn't respond to any requests.

Zero I would absolutely horrible experience I am still smelled smoke from the park the hotel room above me in the morning I m dirty towels the outlets not working the customer service only comp me $100 when I should ve been refunded completely for the room in addition my card was charged extra amounts of money I ve emailed customer service I ve emailed managers directly for answers and no one has responded I am a warning do not stay at this hotel they only care about money they do not care about service so if you have a problem u will not be taken care of the right way!

Nice rooms, good service. Wish they had more seating by the pool or sections reserved for hotel guests. Tons of non-guests come here for the scene.

Beautiful views of LA at night Staff at the Ivory resturant was so nice I was with my daughter who was visiting LA for the first time and I wanted her to ser the great views of LA at night We did not have a window table initially but the staff was so great in eventually getting us a table by the window

Hotel at the top. Nice atmosphere with pool and small music. The dishes are good.

Very nice place to stay, but my custom made acl brace was stolen from that hotel or it was misplaced by the bellboy. If it was any regular brace i wouldn't care but this was a different case. I had to keep calling security to check the cameras and they said they would but i know they didn't. I had to call them again since they never call back and they said "oh yea we never saw anything" . Careful when you stay at this place.

My eye glasses were stolen from my room on third day I was there , and least of problem was problematic toilet .

Sadly, four days after advising that my problem was being directed to the team, I ve heard nothing more. This concerns me greatly because money has been taken from me incorrectly and it seems I have no power to have it reimbursed. Could somebody please sort this out quickly as it has been going on since mid June. The communications process leaves a lot to be desired.

The hotel staff are a disgrace. The waitresses are not interested in the women and are chasing the rich men, the male staff think they re hot models with arrogance and attitude. Very arrogant hotel

I've stayed here many times over the past few years and would definitely stay again. I'm always very impressed by how clean and comfortable the rooms are. A night stay here is pricey, but much less than many hotels in West Hollywood.

The customer service is good, but be aware that there is usually just one person manning the front desk, one person working the bar lounge, and one employee working as the door man so there's waiting time just like at any hotel.

Room service is good too. They have an excellent burger and fries.

What a nice room and full of amenities.Outdoor pool area has an amazing ambiance. The lively rooftop was excellent we really had a great time here and that was remarkable stay here in LA. This hotel was a package and we are surely be back here again with good customer service.
