Great boutique hotel. Friendly staff eager to help. Clean modern rooms. It appears to have been recently refurbished. Prices are modest considering you're in DC. The restaurant is pricy though ($30 for an omelet, coffee and toast) everything is ala carte.

Great location! Easy 5 minute walk to all shops of Georgetown as well as the Foggy Bottom subway. Rooms were nice and clean. Biggest negative is that the only parking is valet which is $48 per night!

We stayed here in October of 2019 for one night while we were visiting D.C. The location of the hotel is great as it's near many shops and restaurants. The lobby is beautifully decorated with plenty of refreshments for the guests, and the staff were very pleasant. However, our room itself was pretty average. Our bathtub was clogged so badly that the water filled the tub, and it took a while for the water to even heat up. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience but I've stayed in better hotels.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful it's a pretty short walk to a lot of different eateries including a great Thai restaurant right down the street. The room was really big I loved it. I did have one issue though, I ordered room service and I asked the person that I was ordering from on the phone what the 20% surcharge would go to since they had a separate $4 delivery fee and a separate 10% tax. They informed me that it was just a service charge and that it would not go to the person making the delivery to the room.
I found that very odd and I asked the gentleman making the delivery at night if he knew if he would get a tip from the 20% and he said no. The 20% was not a tip it was just an additional surcharge, so that I added 20% to the bill and that was that. The next morning I spoke to the person at the front desk and they went to the delivery section and confirmed that the 20% was indeed a tip and found it odd that both the front desk and a delivery person would say otherwise the night before..... other than that it was a great experience a beautiful hotel very clean and I would stay there again.

Great hotel has nice views the problem lies with the staff, they are unfriendly, rude and poorly trained. It was a pretty disappointing experience. I was expecting to be welcomed as a guest like a standard hotel and not to be treated like a suspect and interrogated at the door. Maybe those guys used to work as prison guards or something and they're new to this. Whatever the case is I will not be coming back here.

Me and my group stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I was very satisfied with the Melrose hotel. Hotel looks beautiful and has nice welcoming lobby area with a bar. The room was excellent, very spacious and nicely decorated. Room has pretty much everything you need and the bathroom is very nice as well. Staff was helpful and the location is great. Big recommendations for this hotel!

I still am on the hunt to find the fragrance this place emits because it smells amazing as soon as you walk in. Super clean and friendly. We had an issue with our charges and had an extra charge come through but the staff went above and beyond our expectations to make up for the misunderstanding. I'm never going to complain about a mistake when the business makes it right. This place is my standard for hotels now because you can't find much better quality all the way around. Beautiful rooms with decor as well. Will never forget our stay in DC here.

Very close to the Foggy Botton stop of the Washington subway. With the metro you go everywhere very quickly. I thought it was a great four-star hotel. The restaurant and breakfast aspect is not very clear. I haven't seen much space for these activities. I didn't go into that much.

Great hotel with friendly and courteous staff. Stayed there for a week and was impressed with the service. Had an issue the first night however it was resolved as soon as possible. Beverly was awesome and worked quickly to address the issues. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is beautiful, and the room was amazing. They have Molton Brown products which was an awesome bonus. It is only a few blocks from Georgetown, which makes for a lovely walk to Georgetown without all the hustle and crowds. The staff was very friendly. The surrounding area is safe, with many great restaurant choices within walking distance.

I wish there was a pool. And unfortunately, my room was missed when they did their cleaning rotation in the morning.

I'd consider this hotel again when I visit the area.

Lapin and I came here for his birthday. The hotel was clean and decent. The staff was meh. The lady who checked us in lacked professionalism. Several times I called to address something, they never took care of it. They charged us for a bottle of water from the mini fridge but it was never removed from the fridge nor was the bottle open. The room had a decent size. They had one robe per a couple which is weird. Our robe had a huge rip and was essentially unusable. They have free coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the mornings (in the lobby) but they end service around 10am. They don't have any ice machine, coffee maker, or complimentary tea in the room or on the floor. The valet parking was around $50/day and the internet is slow as hell. The TV and internet doesn't work together. If you are streaming on your computer, expect horrible lag and the TV will not to work. We had rooms near the elevator and it was quite noisy at times. Plus side though, the toiletries were from Molton Brown.

Stayed at this gem this past weekend for leisure as I wanted to experience the city and I was certainly impressed. The inside of the lobby is so breathtaking and beautiful. We had the luxury of renting a Executive King Suite and it was perfect for two. The mini bar was well stocked, the art, color scheme is nice and everything we called for was delivered quickly. The lobby area is the perfect backdrop for some cool pictures.

This would be a 5 star easily, except the front desk staff were not the friendliest, down to the point of one of the guest agents caught an attitude with a guest for asking about late check out and talked about the guest in front of me. Very unprofessional. Also, this same agent was very rude after messing up my folio and when asked to correct she brushed it off and told me check out already occurred. She was not friendly at check in or out. I just left because I didn't want this to overshadow my great stay.

I can't wait to get back to D.C. to stay here again, this will be my new go to. Must stay if you are in the area!

The Melrose hotel is a hotel close to the city center. The comfort of the bed was excellent. After many hours of exploration, you don't have any tiredness. Staff are incredibly good. If I go to Washington DC again, I'll stay at this hotel directly. An exemplary hotel in terms of business management and comfort of rooms.

We booked a room at the Melrose for our wedding anniversary on the Fourth of July. We could not have had a more memorable and exceptional experience. In fact, we will hope to make the Melrose part of our anniversary tradition.

The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival to our room (to which we had been generously upgraded for our special occasion), we were met with a wonderful welcome note from the guest relations representative at the front desk congratulating us. The in-house restaurant (the Jardenea) took service to the next level with knowledgable attendants who could recommend great pairings of main courses and wines or mixed drinks.

The only difficult part of our time there was leaving. We have never had such superb service before or since our time at the Melrose and we look forward to returning next year.

Situated in Georgetown this lovely modern hotel is an ideal location for exploring the sights of Washington D. C.
Large spacious rooms with a decent shower and bath. Free WiFi
Overnight parking was $48 and ran until 3pm, check out is midday.
Lincoln memorial is a 25 minute walk from the hotel.
I thought it was a great place to stay and ideal for exploring the city.

If you spend some time in D.C. don't ask for room #405. The sink is cracked in 3 directions, the tub is disgusting, chipped and discolored and the shower now works after we complained. 4 stars in Hotwire? I think not. 2 to 3 stars and that would be by European standards. Do not ever use Hotwire.

The room was okay. The staff were basically friendly. No sports or swimming facility on site.

The valet parking was unprofessional and slow. When I checked out at 10am. I requested at front desk to get my valet parking car at 10:02am. I waited until about 10:22am until I could get my car. This was a long delay. Some people who requested car 5 minutes later than I did, got their car back earlier than I by 5 minutes. So I don't enjoy this hotel's valet parking.

We stayed in Aug 2020, and it wasn't bad. A good location, easy to grab an Uber anywhere... The lobby was beautiful, but everything was closed due to COVID-19 so no feedback on amenities. Everyone wore masks, and parking on the street was available. The reason for the three stars is the upkeep of the actual room. It wasn't clean. There were stains on our sheets, hair in the shower, a dirty wash rag hanging on the shower rod, everything was covered in dust, the pillows on the couch were stained and dirty, and the actual lamps needed to be cleaned or wiped off. Cleanliness was a 2/5, but service and the location were 4/5, so I'm giving it a solid 3/5 overall.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Melrose for ...

We had the pleasure of staying at the Melrose for 4 nights earlier this month. August 3 - 7. We could not have had a better experience. It started the minute we walked in - the front counter staff were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was fantastic! Large, spacious, very good linens, super comfy bed, very nice toiletries....it was all wonderful.

We decided after a long flight a nice cool beverage was in store....we decided on the downstairs lounge that we noticed when we arrived. The bartender Caroline was just getting set up. She was so friendly and welcoming. She was such a pleasure to chat with and not only provided fantastic service but she made a mean Moscow Mule! Over the course of the evening a number of locals came to the lounge for a beverage...along with some guests. The conversation was so friendly and fun we ended up making the lounge our dinner place as well. We enjoyed a few of the appetizers and then a burger - all very good. Everyone from Caroline the bartender to Millian the Lounge manager to the other local patrons were so helpful with suggestions on what sites to take in, what restaurants to dine in and even how to best get around.

The hotel provides Coffee and Tea in the morning in the lobby by the elevators. This was really nice if you just wanted to grab a coffee and head out early for some sight seeing! The staff managing this area we right on top of it. So friendly and even unnecessarily apologetic when one of the carafes ran out!

The hotel is very centrally located to lots of great restaurants as well as the Metro. In fact we took the Metro from Reagan Airport when we arrived. It was so easy and convenient. The Foggy Bottom Metro station is easily within walking distance from the Melrose. We purchased a refillable pass and used The Metro daily to get around.

We dined in the hotel restaurant twice for breakfast....very, very good. The French Toast is fantastic! Served complete with fruit, real whipping cream and topped off with warm Maple Syrup! YUM! My husband had the Eggs and Bacon Breakfast - actually we split both because they were both so good. We went back there for breakfast on our last day because it was so good the first time we went. The service in the restaurant is just as amazing as the rest of the hotel. The manager made every effort to make sure everything was perfect. Coffee was constantly refilled from our personal carafe and then the carafe was refilled with very good fresh hot coffee once we finished eating our breakfast so we could relax and enjoy a final fresh cup of coffee!

We have traveled a lot and quite honestly Washington and the Melrose Georgetown rank very high on our list of favorite places and hotels to stay. We would highly recommend his hotel. Their friendly and accommodating staff, the large comfortable room, the central location the great food and drinks all make this such a great hotel.

Decided to visit the MELROSE HOTEL in DC... PARKER the weekend manager seems to do nothing but DRINK during work?!

I usually don't mind a weekend manager drinking but this is beyond ridiculous for the price!

No weekend service... Nothing!

Shocked & disappointing, I will never stay at The MELROSE, Washington DC.

I got NO SERVICE & resolution during the weekend with PARKER,
The weekend manger" beware!

(SEE U TUBE VIDEO)

I was IGNORED by the weekend manager PARKER and restaurant STAFF.

(see video on U tube)

In short, renovations do not mean class & service!

SEE U TUBE VIDEO.....

After being IGNORED by PARKER, "one of the weekend" mangers I finally decide to FILM my experience! Sadly, NEVER again.

Glad we have video!

The Melrose is well located, close to both Georgetown nightlife and Foggy Bottom college life. It's quiet, and the staff is respectful and kind. The room feels dark, and could use more and better lighting. The deluxe king room is spacious, but lacks seating options. The bed is comfortable and clean.

I ve stayed here three times. Rooms are well kept. The fruit water tank in the lobby is a heaven send after a long walk around the neighborhood. Great location if you re visiting for work (Foggy Bottom adjacent and near USIP/IMF) or vacation (very close to GWU).

Prices are high and rarely discounted in online vendors and the group rates are not great.

This was our second visit to the Melrose. The staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and everything seems to be well maintained. The Melrose is centrally located, and is a short walk from the Mall, and Historic Georgetown itself. It is also a short ride from the airport. There are several convenience stores nearby, as well as grocery, and restaurants. It is also near a couple major thoroughfares so you can get to wherever you are going pretty quickly. All in all an enjoyable experience and a great location. Will definitely visit again.

This hotel is really great. The walls are thick enough so that your neighbors dont bother you and the conseirge desk really goes out of their way to help you. One morning I received a comimentary room services pitcher of coffee when a random employee noticed that I was returning to my room empty handed when they ran out of complimentary coffee in the reception area. The gym here is off the hook for those who like to get their morning workouts in (I try!!!!)
