If I could give less than one star I would. This establishment has been nothing kind. They do not help you at all regarding issues with the car. At first they seem great until you buy the car. I have purchased two vehicles from this place, the second one I was pretty much forced into because they wouldn't fix the failed vehicle they originally sold me....lemon car lemon location.

This was my first vehicle that I have purchased at a dealer and it was incredibly easy. John H was very knowledgeable and informative about the features on my new Impreza. Josh in finance was very prompt and thorough while finishing the paperwork. I would definitely recommend MIke Shaw Subaru.
After arriving for my scheduled appointment I spoke with Danny who listened to my concerns and let me know I had two open recalls as well. At first he said they were recalls that could take up to two-days to complete. I was pleasantly surprised when he called me and said they could actually get them done the same day! Everyone was very friendly including Shoe who brought me my car at the end of the day! My car drives so much better now and I was very happy with how awesome the staff were!

I had a catastrophic engine failure on my 2014 WRX. At the time of purchase I did get the extended warranty which I am now thankful for. My car died on a Thursday afternoon on the way home from work, needless to say the car did NOT make it to Mike Shaw. I called right away and they gave me the number to their tow company. Within 45mins they were there. I got the car to the dealer within 10mins of closing time. Chris was kind enough to listen, get the car checked in, paper work started and get me a loaner. Walked me through the steps and rougjly how long the process would take. Following afternoon at the time promised I got a call explaining what happened and what the following steps would be. Approval from SNA took three days as said and expected. Once it was aprroved within ten days I had a new engine. Got the run down of what needed to be done for break in and when the next oil change needed to be done. All in all a very smooth painless process. Chris again did a great job of explaining everything and time tables. About the only thing I can gripe about is the oil change due at 1000miles that I have to pay for. I had a catastrophic engine failure with less than a thousdand miles on the current oil change yet I have to come back again in another thousand miles and pay for the oil change for an engine replacement that was at no fault of my own. The service department at Mike Shaw Subaru is second to none! If you want your car running smoothly and warrenties to be honored go to Mike Shaw Subaru!

First time buying a car through Mike Shaw Subaru, haven't purchased a car in 18 years and I was pretty nervous. Eric Grimm was fantastic (didn't really have contact with anyone else at the dealership due to Covid), gave me a great price and was able to help me with all of the paperwork when the finance guy got tied up so I didn't have to wait all night. I'm hoping this car last me another 18 years, but whenever I need a new car, I will definitely head back to this dealership and hopefully Eric as well. Thanks for making the process so easy!
I just had the worst experience of my adult life working with the folks at Mike Shaw Subaru. I needed to buy a car the day I walked in and had selected a car. However, from the minute I walked in, it was pressure all the way. They said over and over again, "don't you trust us"? Why would I? I needed things in writing. We drove the car back to the lot with the intention of buying it and then when we were ready to sign the financing piece of it, we were pressured over and over again to buy additional coverage. Oh my gosh. We finally walked out at 10 PM that night without a car and extremely upset. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. We will be buying a Subaru this weekend, but not from Mike Shaw's business.
I took my 2008 Outback in for a passenger side airbag recall and while I was there I got an estimate on replacing engine gaskets. I knew this was an expensive repair so I shopped around to find the best deal. Mike Shaw offered to do it for the cheapest amount and had the quickest turnaround time. They also gave me a free rental car. I was sold so I booked the appointment. Other places this could take 1-2 weeks, but Mike Shaw was done in 3 days. When I got my car back I heard a whiny high pitched whistle noise. I thought it would go away, but it didn't. I got confirmation from my friends and family that it was making this noise and I wasn't losing my mind. I called Mike Shaw and told them about it and they said bring it in. I did that, but unfortunately it wouldn't make the noise while I was there. They were nice about it and said if I heard it again to bring it in right away. It started making the same noise the next day so I brought it in asap and drove one of the employees around so he could hear it. He did and so we booked another appointment for them to figure out what was making the noise. Every time I had to bring my car in they gave me a free rental car which was a huge help. I brought my car in again and drove the mechanic who had worked on my car around and he heard the noise as well. He looked it over and I got a call from Beth the same day. She was the one who worked with me through this process. She was great through this whole ordeal. She called and told me they found the problem, but it was going to be a $900 fix. I wasn't very happy to hear that I was going to have to pay $900 more dollars after I had just spent $2000. I felt like it wasn't great service to pay for a service and get my car back sounding worse than when I first brought it in and have to pay for it. That seemed sketchy to me. She said it was a coincidence. To me it was an expensive coincidence. I asked her if I could have a copy of everything they had done to the car and what they thought the whining sound was so I could go get a second opinion. I also asked for her boss's name and email so I could write him and explain how I felt about this. Beth did everything I asked and instead of an email I got to talk to her boss. His name is Todd. He gets his own 5 star review. We sat down and I told him how I didn't think it was right that I was receiving my car back sounding worse than before. I went in thinking that this dealership was living up to the poor reputations that dealerships have and I was going to be out of more money and would just have to learn my lesson and move on. Todd replaced my negative opinion with one of trust and honesty. He was straight up and was more than willing to listen to me and make things right. So that's what he did. He had them fix the whining noise for no cost. I tried to explain to him that he had restored my faith in dealerships and I'd be a loyal customer from now on. I left feeling like I could trust them and that they were more than just another company who was trying to make the most profit without customer service. I feel like more companies should follow their model. They put you first and their profits increase because of this care for their customers. If you want a trustworthy mechanic and to be treated as a person then go here. I know I will continue to do so.

I could not find the Outback I was looking for in Kansas City, but with a little searching on the internet- exactly my choice was in transit to Mike Shaw. Talked to Shane Monahan on the phone and got a better deal over the phone than I could get in KC and then having to wait 8 weeks plus for an ordered Outback. After a cheap flight on Southwest to DIA, Shane picked me up at the airport at 10 AM and with in a short 2 hours I was driving back to KC with my new Outback. Who could ask for better service. Shane was great and everyone was friendly and accommodating. Great experience.
I would like to say thank you to Alex Eason for helping me out with my vehicle and I absolutely love my Outback. I live up in Glenwood Springs and haven't had the best of luck up here with this Subaru Dealership and so I made the drive down there to have them look into my cars issues, which were fixed. When I went to Mike Shaw Subaru I was a little nervous as I was buying a car, for the first time, by myself. Doug helped me with the initial purchase. There was absolutely no stress involved - they worked with my budget and found me the exact car I was looking and it took only 2 hours. The car is still a perfect fit for us today.
As for service, I've always been able to get in on a day and during a time that suits me. The staff, especially service manager, are always friendly and willing to listen and address questions and concerns.
We've had a great experience there and I would highly recommend them.
I just had my car in for a recall and an oil change. Matt my service advisor was awesome! He made sure my repairs were done on time and even helped with a radio problem I was having. My car was clean and ready to go when I arrived to pick it up. I will definitely keep going back to Mike Shaw Subaru in the future.
I didn't realize this was an assembly line service type deal until I arrived. I do appreciate the quickness this provides but it somewhat concerns me as mistakes are easily made in such an environment.
For example, I wanted a synthetic oil change and the guy looked at me like I had 4 heads. They don't normally do that, I was told, but they agreed to do it anyway. When I got my car back it was unclear whether they actually did synthetic or not, apparently the mechanic missed that?! Ugh.
Also the receptionist insisted on completing her entire text message before greeting and assisting me. That is literally her job, I don't understand how that could be acceptable.
Everyone was very nice, they just didn't portray much competence so I will likely go elsewhere in the future. If you just need a quick regular oil change then this is a decent option.
I took my daughter to Mike Shaw Subaru we worked with Eric. We were having a great experience, found a vehicle she wanted, signed a bunch of paperwork and put $1000 down. We were there for three hours and the last people out of the dealership however, they were unable to get us to a finance manager that evening so they asked that we come back the next day. Eric assured us that the car would be completely ready and it wouldn t take us long to fill out the remaining paperwork. We had set an appointment for 6 PM we were there on the dot with a $7000 check made out to Mike Shaw Subaru. We waited for over an hour so after I asked Eric, he assured us that a finance manager would be with us within 20 minutes. He handed the keys to the car to my daughter so she could take another look at it. At that time she realized the vehicle had only a quarter tank of gas in it and that there was a chip in the windshield. At this point we had now been at the dealership for two hours, it was 8 PM. Still no finance manager so Eric came up explaining that they were having a hard time finding a bank that will finance us so my daughter at a decent interest rate so payments would go up by $100 per month because of a 21% interest rate. Mom can you co-sign? asks Eric. ( Daughter has a 720 credit score) We had agreed on a vehicle for $14,500 by the time we were all said and done it went up to $19,500. He also was pretty insistent upon up-charging for an additional warranty. In the meantime there were multiple people he would was selling to so I felt we were no longer important or valuable to him. We ended up being the last customer in the dealership yet again and by the time we got to the sales manager it had now been three hours after our appointment. A total of six hours in two days. Even the Finance manager stated everything should have been done the day before. The final straw that broke the camels back was the absolute unprofessionalism Eric had after we had walked out. He chased my 18-year-old daughter down into the parking lot yelling her name stating that he needed the keys to the car. If he would ve spoke to his coworker which was literally right across the hallway he would have known the keys were on his desk. Why would someone take keys to a car that didn t belong to them? So ultimately, if you want a dealership who will get your sale, take your money and then raise your monthly payments and raise the cost of the car this dealership is for you. If you like unprofessionalism and having your time wasted and being jerked around and have someone assume you are stealing their vehicle this dealership is for you. However, if you want to be treated with respect, if you want a quality car for a fair market value and if you want a positive buying experience run away as fast as you can!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Unfortunately, I bought my 2016 Crosstrek from them. I went to Mike Shaw because they had the color of car that I wanted and they said they would match another dealers price, extended warranty and maintenance contract offer. Throughout the sales transaction, I was repeatedly told that the warranty was included in the price. I was naive in signing the contract without fully understanding it. When I reviewed the contract at home I discovered that they charged me $4800.00 for a 3rd party extended warranty which they insisted was included in the price of the car. Since the car was on order and I had not picked it up yet, I went back to have the warranty taken off the contract. Pete Beckingham, the finance guy, wrote up a new contract with us, cancelling the old contract. At that point, I was happy just to get out of the $4800.00 warranty and that still wasn't even close to the other dealers offer for the service maintenance and warranty. Now, almost THREE months later, and numerous calls to Pete Beckingham, with his assurance that the new contract had been submitted, it still has not been resolved. I have repeatedly emailed him to get verification of this and have not gotten a response. I then stepped it up and sent an email to Dominic Scrivner, Managing Partner, since he seems to be the one who responds to the reviews on this site, giving him the opportunity to resolve the situation before I post my negative review. Once again, I have not heard back from him either, so here it is. I thought Mike Shaw was a trustworthy organization as we had previously purchased a vehicle from them many years ago, boy was I wrong.
I was initially very displeased with the service I received at Mike Shaw on 10/31/20, and I left a 1-Star review when I got home as a result. I had my oil changed that day, and the car was slightly damaged during the free car wash afterwards. The damage was a bent license plate and a few gouges in the the black plastic around the passenger side fog light (Subaru Crosstrek).
Fast forward to Monday, November 2, 2020. I received a call from a very pleasant gentleman named Mathias. Mathias assured me that Subaru was very sorry and would love to correct the issue. He ordered a replacement piece for the fog light, and the shop will be installing it as soon as it arrives. I have never been more pleased from an interaction that started out as a negative. They have gone above and beyond in making things right, and I wholeheartedly recommend this location to all of you wonderful people as a result.

i filled out all applications on line was preapproved through a lender, when i got there i had to wait 2 hours for aproval and the terms were different, i took the deal anyway, when i got home i checked the oil and fluids, the oil was not even on the dip stick, so much for certified used cars, it cost 371.00 to make it right, they agreed to send me a check but i have yet to recieve it that was 10 days ago, I WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN NOE WILL I RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE

Mike Shaw Subaru in Westminster, CO is an awesome dealership! I have a somewhat older Subaru Impreza and I am not the original owner but I discovered online that it had a recall that had not been taken care of so I called this location to get it scheduled for the repair. Initially upon calling the service department to get my car on the schedule to perform this repair I was informed that the wait would be at the least several week out. However as soon as I mentioned that the repair work in question was a factory recall, once I provided the receptionist with the proper information for my car, the receptionist was able to get the repair work scheduled for the very next day and as I was having a few other issues with my car, she was also kind enough to schedule a diagnostic exam for it at the same appointment time. So long story short I was unable to make it to the initial appointment time given me the previous day and so I called to reschedule the repairs, fully expecting to have to wait at minimum a day later, only to be elated at the offer of a later appointment time that very same day! After completion of the recall repair and the diagnostic exam, I was given a very informative and thorough assessment of the current condition of my car along with a very precise breakdown of the charges for each task and the urgency level of each respectively and although the service department was extremely busy I was never made to feel rushed in my decision to have any of the work performed or scheduled to be performed at a later time. In addition to all that I was presented with a freshly washed car and a complimentary diagnostic exam at the end of my visit. Props to the service department and their amazing knowledgeable staff from the mechanics who do the work on down to the receptionists who have the daunting task of explaining what needs to be done in a way that the average car owner can comprehend. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR ALL YOUR SUBARU NEEDS!!
Changed rating to 4*-. Customer service did everything in their power to make this right. I appreciate that! Jacob salesman was courteous, polite and honest. Enjoyed working with him. On Saturdays they serve hamburgers which is awesome. I had one myself. Would give 5/5 but on the financing and signing on papers process (which almost ruined it for me), I felt rushed and pressured by the larger guy. He was being pushy and borderline rude. Our plan was to follow through with our private lender if we couldn't get the 3.3% rate from the other bank but he insisted to sign the paper at 3.9% and Refi.
I absolutely give Mike Shaw a 5+ rating! The maintenance team is so great especially Stephen! He always goes above and beyond and I am in and out of there in no time! I recommend Mike Shaw Subaru 100% and to EVERYONE! My father and I both purchased Legacy's from there and we couldn't be more pleased! Thanks again to everyone at Mike Shaw for making my experience so great!

Eric Grimm aided greatly in during the search for and acquisition of a 2020 Crosstrek. I was able to get a very fair price for it and has remained helpful even after the deal was done. Not to mention his knowledge saved me from another dealership's shady practice.
Haven't even had my car for a month and it is not running at all. Not even made one payment. Mike Shaw's service manager says well it's your car now, basically too bad. Great customer service there. Never will I go back and I will tell everyone about my experience.
We had a great experience with Mike Shaw Subaru! They have an impressive inventory of brand new Forester SUVs, and the buying process at the dealership was totally streamlined (and safe! Which is important in the current climate). Our salesman Eric Grimm was awesome. He answered all of our questions, and was a breeze to work with. And most importantly, he got us the best price in the Denver area. Seriously... I called around to multiple dealerships, and Mike Shaw's ticket price was the lowest, before we even started negotiating! So I can say that with confidence. I highly recommend Eric, and the Mike Shaw Subaru dealership in general! I truly hope that I don't need to buy another car anytime soon, but if I did, I'd definitely go back to them.

I bought a new Impreza there in 2017 that needed an engine repair after a few thousand miles. I did not want a brand new car with engine troubles, so I traded it for a Crosstrek. Two years later, it needs a new engine! I purchased the extended warranty, so it's covered, BUT what they do not mention is that the warranty will cover the parts, BUT they can purchase used parts from a junk yard or wherever else they can find them. They found a used engine for $1,000. I'm sure that is a sign of something right? I called and asked if this is standard and they all said yes. The service guy at Mike Shaw said he has had good and bad experience with used engines. GREAT!!. The warranty department did say I could pay the difference if I wanted a new engine, $4,000 difference. I left a message for the sales manager at Mike Shaw to call me back about my experience, but did not get a call back. My advice, RUN from any Subaru dealership. Everything is cheaply made, I would not purchase a Subaru again.

Recently I purchased my second car through Mike Shaw. As the daughter of a car salesman I know what a good dealership and a bad dealership looks like. I'm completely blown away with how wonderfully I was taken care of at Mike Shaw. We were able to get a very difficult transaction taken care of in a matter of hours without any frustration or headache on our end even though I know it was quite a pain for them. Both Ricky the salesman and the Nick the General Sales Manager went above and beyond to get us exactly what we needed. I will definitely be going back in three years when it's time to trade off again.
I have more that fifteen years getting my cars served by Mercedez Benz and Volvo's dealers. They always had a VIP services professional advisors. Because I'm retired I decided to downsize and get a Subaru as one of the most safe, economic,affordable durable car. My first service experience was very unsatisfactory. I didn't receive the customer service I was used to. I was very dissapointed. I communicated to the person who asked for my feedback. I was ready to go to another Subaru dealer.
That day I noticed that Tim was different. He was happy, caring, friendly,kind, with a very positive attitude showing his enjoyment in service others with excellent customer service skills. I decided to give a second chance by exclusive asking for him to my next service appointment.
He had become my favorite. He had served my car twice. It has been a pleasure working wih him. He is very diligent, caring, and respectful.
He is a great asset, and have the potential in becoming a manager who can lead by example. I'm pretty sure that department will improve their customer service.
I can't speak for the sales department, but the service department is outstanding. I've dealt primarily with Wally Pettingill and Beth Bailey. When I bought my Forester I lived in Pittsburgh and I bought the extended service warranty then, then I moved to Colorado. Well this dealership DOES submit the claims for what's covered under the warranty, and they are paid which is great because my engine died 4 miles west of the Eisenhower Tunnel a year ago and I ended up paying $100 on an $11,000 engine rebuild. I hope they don't change!

We purchased a used vehicle at Mike Shaw Subaru in July 2014. The purchase experience was good. The salesman we dealt with was very good and attentive to our needs. However, the financing portion of the purchase was a nightmare. The finance manager, Brandon set us up with good financing. We left a $14,000 downpayment check with them, but the proceeds were coming from the insurance company and the check had not yet cleared the bank. So Brandon was suppose to hold our personal $14K check for 10 days and our insurance deposit would clear by them. That is where the nightmare began. Turns out, Mike Shaw processed our personal (on hold) check and it bounced because we did not $14K in our bank account. Who does? I found out in a couple of days when I tried to get some cash fro my checking account and balance was way negative. So getting this resolved took many days, lots of grief and a lot of my time to resolve. It was a costly mistake on their part and I was very angry at their lack of attention to this matter. I did get it resolved and the dealership did work with me but there is no excuse for what they did. So BEWARE and post date the check if you have a similar situation. I WILL NOT do business with Mike Shaw Subaru again. Last note, every time I went in to try to resolve this mistake, I wanted to talk to the GM to give him a piece of my mind. He was never there. That should say something about this dealership as well.
Setup appointment for a recall at 8:45a. I was told it usually takes 2 hrs, but they were busy, so it would be about 4-5 hrs and I said that was fine. After 6 hrs I had no update, I received no response through texting nor a response when I called. Around hour 7 I called again and the person told me theyre working on it and needed about 1 more hour. Finally at 5:45p I get a call and a message saying my car was ready but I had to get it before 6p when they close (9 hours 15 mins from start to finish). I race over, they have me wait on the side of the service department with my receipt until someone finally pulls my car up. No apology, no reasoning, no nothing. Now, Im leaving 2 stars because Im assuming this was a fluke, this particular Subaru was my older 2006, and although I hope that wasnt the reason for all this, Ive never had a problem with my 2016 legacy, nor has my family which has 4 subarus altogether that weve taken there.

I found a car that they had online I loved. I inquired to see if it was still available. A sales rep reached out to me and I asked some questions, he told me the car was being serviced and he would reach out first thing in the morning. I waited until late afternoon the next day, after not hearing from him I reached out to him. He told me the car was out of service, but was not ready to be shown as it was yet to be detailed. Finally I was given an opportunity to come see the vehicle. When I arrived I was getting everything set to test drive when another sales rep informed us the car has been sold that morning! I was told 2 days in a row that it wasn t even ready to look at and after I arrive they tell me it is sold.....? I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Cliff Swaim at Mike Shaw Subaru. My lease is up next month on my 2017 Outback 3.6 and I decided to go up and test drive the new 2020 Outback XT Onyx Edition. I made an appointment and Cliff responded to my inquiry within the hour! I drove up to the dealership and Cliff was waiting for me at the front desk and he'd already pulled up the vehicle that I was interested in and was ready for me to test drive! I loved the Outback, but I LOVED Cliff's attention to detail even more! We sat down and did the necessary paperwork and I have an Outback Onyx Edition on order! I can't wait until it arrives and I can go back to return my lease and drive off in my new car! Thank You Cliff for making this buying experience the absolute best I could have ever hoped for!
The Service Dept does not want small jobs such as oil changes - if they do one then you will be confronted with an aggressive salesman that wants you to purchase something - in addition the Sales Dept is only interested in their commissions - not rude, not helpful - I'd go elsewhere if I were you.
Ok shop, seems to do a lot of business. We were disappointed, however, because they miss identified of repair that was not needed. They inspected the engine saw old oil and assumed it was a leaking head gasket. They just had not cleaned the oil off as we had the head gasket replaced a few months prior at another shop. Should have tested further before recommending the head gasket replacement as it was well over $1000. Fortunately we did not bite.
I had been in and out of other shops, with only little "bandaid" fixes from those shops. Mike Shaw Subaru went above and beyond to diagnose the problem and find the most cost-efficient way of solving the problems, with excellent customer service. Ashley, the service manager for my car, was absolutely wonderful!! Amazing and reassuring experience at Mike Shaw Subaru.

My Subaru Forester was making unfamiliar noises and the check engine light came on. When I took it in to the service department I spoke with a woman named Kathy. She was so helpful and kind to me and my two boys. They fixed my car in a timely manner and were so friendly. They even had a rental car I could use until mine was ready. Which was extremely helpful with my chaotic schedule as a single mom, working and going to school full time. I am so grateful for such a welcoming and friendly service department where I feel comfortable taking my vehicle for repairs and up-keep. I will forever be a customer! Thank you Kathy and everyone for your kindness and help with my car!
I will always recommend mike shaw subaru. Tim in service has always been great and Alex in sales never forgets to say hi when I bring my Outback in. Not at all what one expects from a dealership! Very friendly people and tasty coffee.
I cannot begin to say how thankful I am for this place. I worked with Randon. He is a wonderful honest man. I bought a jaguar xj8 from them and they changed the oil and cleaned it for me. Preveously I was working with another dealer in tucan Arizona. The place was called Tucson used auto sales. I was working with a salesman and he had me back and forth on the phone for 4 weeks and they never got back to me. I called Mike shaw and was in and out in 4 days, buy I was coming from Albuquerque nm. I have had a wonderful experience with the dealership. couldn't get the dealer to fix anything that was wrong with the car and was still overpriced, extremely greedy and unfair, worst car buying experience to date! find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money!
