After contacting multiple Toyota dealers in NC, I had almost given up on trying to lease a new Tundra for my consulting business.

I was completely overwhelmed with the entire process because almost every single dealer was requesting an in person visit before they could quote me their best price. Frankly in 2019, I expect that a dealership can give me their best price online/over the phone before asking I drive 2-3 hours out of my way and then waste more of my time negotiating in person.

I contacted Mike Johnson Toyota as a last resort, only because they didn't have exactly what we were looking for. I worked with Justin C. and Andy L. who were able to order EXACTLY the truck we wanted. I was offered a great payment and low money factor right off the bat. I simply came in the day the truck was delivered, filled out some paperwork, did a credit check, and was out the door all within 2 hours. Travis Y. in finance was also incredibly helpful.

No games, no gimmicks, no hassle for me at Mike Johnson. I definitely recommend them for anyone in NC looking for a Toyota. We look forward to doing business with you again in the future!

We purchased a brand new Tundra from Dwayne Willix at Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota. I have purchased many cars before and this was by far the best experience that I have had. Dwayne and I discussed an agreement over the phone and everything (down to the penny) that he promised me happened. He stuck to his word. He was prepared, diligent, and efficient. I will not buy another car from anyone other than Dwayne. Also, the finance guy was very efficient and good at his job as well. We got to the dealership around 4:45PM and we were gone before 7:00PM with the new vehicle. I can't say enough about my great experience at this dealership. Also, they didn't have the exact vehicle that I wanted so Dwayne found it. He was phenomenal!

I was in a little bit of an odd situation with my vehicle and Samantha, the finance office, and the dealership as a whole went above and beyond to make it happen and got me into a reliable brand new tundra. I don t think I m ever going to go anywhere else to buy a vehicle.

My wife and I took our cars in for oil changes today and ended up having to do more than that. Thank you to Nicholas Julian and to Austin Gouge. They both took the time to show and explain the issues they found with our vehicles and were super helpful with the while process. Both were very professional and are a credit to this business. I just want to say from the first day I walked through the doors of this dealership I felt welcomed from the customer service I received, but not only that the salesman I had Mrs. Pat Avery was amazing at all that she did for me. The service writer, Brandon Padgett was curtious and knowledgable. My service included state inspection, oil change and tires for one or both of my vehicles. With his help, he made the it easy for me to decide what would best suit my needs for my vehicles. The service did not take long and I know that if I have any issues with the service I just received, I can rely on Mike Johnson Hickory Toyota to provide that service. I have been coming to the dealership since 2011. I have had good service overall. My most recent visit was a letdown though. Once my vehicle was serviced at their Quick Lube shop on the hill I opened the door, and it was obvious that the service tech had gotten into the vehicle with filthy clothes, which left stains all over the seat. I alerted one of the managers. He sent the tech out who arrived with a dirty rag and what looked like a bottle of glass cleaner! I asked that he get a clean rag. I don't know what the cleaner was, but after it dried later in the day, the stains were still there. I'll be trying to get the stains out at home.

I had a transmission issue in my Tacoma and within seconds of my arrival I was able to discuss my issue (not a usual experience at other Toyota dealerships). They responded very respectfully of my issue and really cared. Within minutes I was on a diagnostic test drive with Master Technician Ryan Bartlett. He was articulate and very intelligent with all things Toyota and was able to hone down on what was wrong with my Taco in just a couple hours. Ultimately, I needed a new transmission and the Service Director, Dennis Carson, was able to order a new transmission and have it delivered for the following day within 15 minutes. Ryan Bartlett worked on my truck from the beginning, giving me updates throughout the process, and had my truck ready for pickup in two days over the holidays. I will always buy my truck/cars from Mike Johnson Toyota.

I purchased my Prius from here. When I did they told me about their excellent service facility. I have been here twice and both times have been very disappointed. This past time I drove all the way from my home (about an hour and a half away) with an appointment, and when I got there they said there was no tech there for a Prius.
An added note. No one in the lobby was wearing a mask so I had to wait outside in the hot sun. In addition none of the text in the area were wearing masks.

The service contract I purchased isn't even close to the value I expected considering how much I paid.

The only saving quality is the sales department. They were fair, helpful, and honest. I have bought 2 cars from the dealership and the sales team is great.

Nothing like buying over 3 new off the lot vehicles and when problems occur on a 1 year old truck they really down play you. Doesnt properly make eye contact tells you something looking elsewhere, doesnt take issue serious. But hey guess when its under bumper to bumper its not as important when its not. I know i can take cars out of warranty and they find everything possible and why it needs to be replaced new. Not on the new vehicle, its played off and its ok, got a feeling this changes after warranty.

I was always super nervous about going in to look for a new car. I never once felt pressured or rushed. He was very personable and actually listened to what I was needing and done everything he could to make it happen. He's an awesome person to have on your team.. I love how knowledgeable he was about the Rav4! He told me everything about the car before I could even ask. He pointed out things and showed me things about the car that I probably wouldn't have ever realized. The whole experience was great! Everyone that I encountered was super friendly and easy to work with. They all made you feel comfortable. They were able to find me the right price for my Rav4. Without a doubt the best buying experience I've had. I'll definitely be referring anyone to him if I know they're in the market for a new car, and I'll be back in the future!

I am usually not one to write reviews, but after the service I received from this dealership I have no choice. Everyone was super helpful. I had already gone to two different dealerships before looking to trade in my car with a large amount of negative equity and they are the only ones who made it work! I am really disappointed in my experience with this dealership. After speaking with a finance manager at several other dealerships the sales man that sold my vehicle truly took advantage of me wanting our of my lease. I will take the blame and lesson learned from me not reading the paper in its entirety. After speaking with another sales person at the dealership their response was sorry there is nothing we can do, which I completely understand. Now, a year and 4 months later I am paying double for a car with a growing family, needing a 3rd row that we cannot get because the salesman that sold me my car did not explain that they were not "buying me out of my lease" like he stated verbatim. I am paying the rest of my lease and double for a car that dropped 17000 in value in a year and 4 months. Again, I'll take the blame for not reading the detailed paperwork but their sales reps will tell you what you want to hear as long as it puts you in a vehicle. I've never been done so horribly at a place of business.

I bought my 2011 Toyota Rav4 from Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota, just a little over a year ago. I have already had to replace the battery in it. I have been getting it serviced at this location since I bought the vehicle. However, today I take my Rav4 in to be serviced for oil change, fluids, spark plugs and cabin filter change. I thought the lady who helped me understood that I did not want to go over a certain amount and that amount was $200.00. So she told me that my service would be a couple of hours and offered me a "free rental" to return home since I have a broke foot and have crutches. I thought that part was nice. However, when I called and asked if my Rav4 was ready, I returned the rental to pick up my vehicle. I am a single mother out of work because of my broken foot. I asked how much my bill was going to be and she said $790.00!!!!!!!! I was so shocked, there were no words I could use. I told them I did not have that much money. So she took off about $100.00 and said that was the best she could do. My bill was now at $694.00. I had to drain my bank account dry and call my daughter who was at work to help me pay for the rest of it. I had never had a problem before, however, I do not think I could have the heart (or enough money) to return to get service for my Toyota Rav4. This was truly a shocking and painful stab to my checking account. Now I am out of work and have NO money to live on what so ever. I am really just sick now because of this. I would have really appreciated a phone call or a discussion about my services and my bill before they proceeded. This really hurt me and my family.

Update 01/06/2021- I received a call from Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota and they made things right with me and my family. They were so nice to go over my situation with us and fixed my bill. They were so kind and committed to fixing this mistake. I will definitely return for services at Hickory, Toyota. You guys are amazing and definitely gained my trust and business back. Thank you so much for all you have done. You deserve 10 stars instead of 5!!!!! Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!

The customer service was awesome. The salesman, Jeff Robinson, really went out of his way to make sure I found the perfect car for me. Let me tell you, I am not an easy person to please. Jeff had a great deal of patience and didn't pressure me at all. I found the perfect car BUT it had seats I didn't like. When I thought I was going back to the drawing board, Jeff asked my husband and I to give him two minutes. Upon his return he had the perfect solution and now... I am driving the car of my dreams. This is an amended review. We initially had a bad experience through a lot of miscommunication with the dealership up front resulting in financing complications. We reached out, expressed our troubles, and they offered to help but truly did not fix the problem. My average wait time for service is 2 hours for an oil change with the longest being 3.5 hours. Unless you just love Toyota and live in Hickory, I don t recommend going here. There are better dealerships in the area that give a personalized experience consistently and work with you on trade ins and financing. This dealership is too big for its own good and has lost its ability to genuinely help people.

This review is focused on the car buying experience, rather than the car itself, since I ve only had the car a few days (but wanted to give some positive feedback; though I m sure I ll love the car).

An unfortunate set of circumstances led to me needing to buy my first vehicle from outside the family. All I knew is that I wanted a Toyota my last two cars were Toyotas and I was very happy with them. I found what looked to me like a great deal on Mike Johnson s website, and quickly got a test drive set up. I was greeted at the dealership by Nicolette Reed, and she s the main reason I want to put this five star review down. Nicolette was incredibly kind with a great, easy going attitude, and an approach that never made me feel too pressured or like I was being sold to. What I really wanted to shout out about Nicolette is how much extra work she put in to seal the deal on the car, staying past her departure time (which I felt very bad about!) and arriving early next morning to ensure a tire issue would be fixed before I had work (though there ended up not being an issue at all, thankfully). I know how much I don t enjoy being held up past my clock out time, so I was grateful for Nicolette s kindness and the extra mile she went to make my first car buying experience a positive one. She was fun to talk to during the test drive and just gave an overall positive experience. I was also thankful for the gentleman who guided me through the paperwork, and I m sorry to not remember his name at the moment (I believe it was Gus Henao). He was a real straight shooter and I felt like he was giving me all the information I needed in an honest, straightforward fashion that I appreciated when it came to the nitty gritty details of warranties, loans, etc.

I m sure the car will end up being a great experience, too, but I wanted to go ahead and shout out the awesome service I received from these two employees.

My visit, this last time, was to have my 35,000 mile check-up and an oil change on my 2009 Corolla-S. This is my second Corolla from the Mike Johnson Toyota dealership. I guess you could say that our family either drives a Toyota or Honda. We know a great vehicle when we see one!!! Mr. Johnson's employees are ALL great people to work with. They listen well and offer suggestions if needed; but, they definitely know their business, utmost professionals. On this day, I happened to be in Hickory and thought ... hmmm, I need an oil change and called the Dealership and spoke with someone who booked me within the hour to come in for the 35,000 checkup with oil change. I arrived, checked in, and a half-hour to forty-five minutes later, I was out of there. Amazingly ... great service. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to wait long at all. Everyone is always so nice and respectful. That's definitely one of the many reasons I always go back to Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota Dealership. Thanks guys!!
