We had been searching for a truck for a few years. I found the truck at Mike Johnson's Toyota and finally ordered what I wanted. When the truck came in and we were to go purchase it when we got there it was the wrong truck. The original sales person that we had been working with conveniently was not at work that day. We had to deal with another salesman whose name was Ricky Williams. We were unhappy that this was not the truck we ordered however after talking with Ricky and another guy there named Josh HodgIns they explained to us that this was actually a better truck with more options on it. However the truck did not have the running boards that we thought our original truck was coming with. These two guys went above and beyond to make sure that we were very happy and satisfied with this new truck. They put on new runningboards, at no cost to us, and the rest of our experience with buying a new truck went very smoothly. We couldn't ask for two better guys to have worked with. It's too bad that this survey only has a five star rating because both of these guys deserve a 10 star rating. They're the best! So if you go buy a truck or a car there, asked for Ricky Williams and Josh Hodgins!!

I came in for my routine oil change for my 2013 4runner. Shawn always is professional and extremely friendly. I totally trust him with my car and always enjoy our conversations. This is my second car from this dealership starting back to 2004, and Shawn has been a huge part of my satisfaction, even though he is a Dukey! He's a great guy.

Its a shame there car lot is this nice when there management is crazy. They really are the worse dealer I've delt with. If your trading something in, save yourself the time and go elsewhere! Absolutely ridiculous trade in evaluation! 4-8k less than other dealers.
John is the best service manager around. I have bought three cars with these guys, get all my vehicles serviced here and trust them. I purchased a used 4Runner from another dealer and after a week the check engine light came on and the Trac Off light came on. I wasn t familiar so I called and got John on the phone. I told him I was afraid to drive it and he actually stopped by my house after work hours to put the code monitor on it and showed me what it was. He put a bottle of fuel stabilizer in my tank and explained that it was fine and it was because the prior owner did not have the Fuel system cleaned at the 30,000 mile service like recommended. If that isn t worthy of giving these guys a chance at your business then I don t know what else to say.
What I forgot to say is I was there Monday for my daughters service on her RAV4 and Nick walked my daughter through the service process and explained everything to her and made feel comfortable about taking her car there without having her Dad with her. Thank you John and Nick and I will continue doing business with you guys for years to come.

Exceptional customer service! We received a recall notice for our Toyota and experienced a notably high level of customer service from first contact to departure. To top it off, they offer complimentary massage for customers while they wait inside (not to mention the popcorn, coffee, etc.). I say others would do well to model Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota's customer service approach based on my interaction there.
Just got home from buying my car. I did a lot of research and chose Mike Johnson because of the warranty and price offered on the cars I was interested in. My salesman, Paul Faro, was great. Very nice and helpful. Made the very stressful process of test driving, negotiating, and buying a car only slightly stressful. Very happy with my car and the experience I had with Mike Johnson Hickory Toyota.

THE WORST VEHICLE BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!
My husband and I purchased a new vehicle in October, we received the absolute worst customer service, very rude staff, and there was no communication at all.
After our initial purchase (contract signed and 2 vehicles traded) we received a call 4 DAYS LATER from MJHT advising there was an issue with financing. I then called the General Sales Manager, Andy Lawhon, which was no help at all and extremely rude. I made him aware that his company should be communicating better than what they had been and it was bad for business. He told me he knew there was an issue the day after we purchased but failed to have someone call us to make us aware. We went back to the dealership, the sales manager Justin Johnson refused to give us our 30 day tag or the contract that we signed. He said there was no contract. Keep in mind that one of the vehicles we traded was already listed on their website for sale the day after we purchased our new vehicle. We finally left with our tag and NEW contract that they made us re-sign with the original purchase date and totally different numbers.
Bottom of the line, very rude staff from the very top to the very bottom.
Do not contact Andy Lawhon, he is definitely no help, I recommend going above him if possible. Actually don't go there at all.
Its a good thing that Toyota sells itself, apparently they're aware of the same very thing because these people can't seem to get it together.

Our key locked up in the ignition. Service dept got us right in and fixed the broken ignition switch and got us back on the road in no time.
I did not purchase my car in Hickory, but am very pleased with the service I received for an oil change and tire rotation. It was super easy to schedule my service and then was in and out very quickly! Excellent service!
Always friendly love the service department . I really would like to see the service department people sit on chairs instead of standing all day. To me a employer who makes their service personel stand all day does not care for the well being of their employees Please give them back their chairs.
I actually don't mind taking my Rav4 into Mike Johnson's Toyota, my service adviser Jill Francis is always there to makes my life easier when it comes to my Rae The Rav4. She even gave me her cell phone number so I can call her even when she's not at work, she treats me with the upmost respect, she never tries to push me into a repair that is not necessary or one that i can't afford she always considers my finances; she even remembers that my son has an accounting degree and that my son picked out my Rav4, named it Rae and that i run any recommendations by him before approving them to be done. It's not so much that she remembers that, as it is the fact that my son lives in California and had given me a lecture about not taking Rae anywhere else for service, Jill always says, so are you ready to make that California call and get Joseph's approval. So Wednesday evening Joseph and i were discussing Rae needed a tire rotation and possibly the spark plugs changed, he informed me to call Jill and confirmed that i had her card; so, after hanging up with Joseph, i called Jill and asked if she could set me an appointment for my tire rotation, she advised me that she was away from her desk and asked me if i minded sending her a text so she could take care of it as soon as she got back to her desk, i gladly sent her the text per her request. Jill called me back and even sent an email and text with appointment time, i asked if i should have my spark plugs changed at tire rotation or wait until it was time to change my oil, she suggested i go ahead and change the spark plugs as it was recommended at my last oil change & tire rotation and she advised that she had me setup for 9am Thursday morning. Upon arrival Thursday morning, Jill was there to greet me and got me settled. She's more like a friend than someone that works at a car dealership; my son and i both think she's the BEST OF THE BEST, he has been known to call her regarding my Rav4 from California, we always get a huge laugh out of it, Jill and i both agree that not everyone is as lucky as I am to have a son that care's about making sure his mother's vehicle is reliable and getting the proper care it needs and not more than it needs. Jill is always so patient and caring, i'm more than pleased to have her as my service adviser, in fact, i feel VERY BLESSED! While I was sitting in the waiting area Jill made sure i had everything i needed, you know, like coffee... after a little while Jill came and showed me the list of recommendations that needed to be done at this time and she already had an estimated amount the recommendations were going to cost and asked if i needed a minute to call California. I told her not this time and to go ahead and with the recommendations on the list she showed me. She came and sat with me for a while to make sure i was comfortable and kept me updated as the work was being done on my Rav 4. Jill Francis is a WONDERFUL person and if Mike Johnson's Toyota ever lets her go, I may have to take my Rae The Rav4 elsewhere for service. Jill is awesome and i appreciate her knowledge, truthfulness, friendliness and guidance when it comes to my Rae The Rav4 . I would most definitely recommend anyone to take their vehicle to Mike Johnson Toyota and you know it, i recommend Jill Francis as an adviser.

Samantha Fox is wonderful i would recommend her to anybody. She was very helpful from beginning to end. When i first talk to her on the phone she really made me feel like she would do everything she could to make sure i left in a vehicle. She didn t try to give me something i didnt want. She constantly reminded me to find something i like. She did everything from talking to ppl before i got to there to making calls when i got there. She was very nice and sweet. Most importantly she kept her word when she said ima make sure you get what you want. The honesty n kindness of this lady really means alot. The dedication she showed me was really genuine and let me know her helping was all that mattered. I will say she is a true vip for that dealership. Yall really have a winner on the Mike Johnson team in Samantha Fox cause she is truely one in million.
My 2012 Toyota Sienna van was due for the 10K mile service. I always go to Mike Johnson for my oil changes and tire rotations. Shawn is always the gentleman helping me. He is excellent! He goes out of his way to help in any possible. I have a 5 year old and a newborn and he carried the newborn in the carseat into the waiting area for me and then carried him back out to the car when we were finished. I always enjoy going to visit them and the work that is requested is always performed correctly. Thank you service department for your hard work!

The purpose of my visit to the service department was to render the first service of my new Avalon Limited at 5,000 miles.The action called for rotating my tires. After spending 1 1/2 hours in the waiting room, I decided to walk back into the service bay. The attendant indicated that the vehicle "just finished" and that they had road tested it. I hope, this excessive time is not typical of Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota.

First off, Andrew Sharpe was the best and most pleasant salesman ever!! I had bought a car from another dealer, which turned out to be a lemon, and nobody would help. These guys called me, I was scared to make the 2 hour drive at first, assuring myself I would leave disappointed just like I did every car lot I went to that week. I got there, and Andrew sat down with me and my mother, looked over our stuff, and got me into a 2016 Corolla!! I couldn't believe it. Him and Derek took very good care of us! He even stayed 2 hours after close just to make sure I drove off in this car. I am amazed with them! He was very upfront, honest, and professional! I will never use another car dealership again! My daughter and I finally have a safe and reliable vehicle! WE had an amazing 2 hour drive back in my new car! EVERY one there was such a big help!! I would recommend this place to anyone. We also loved or goody bags! I even have cheaper payments and insurance than what was on my 2010 Avenger! THANKS GUYS!!!

Very nice young man checked me in for 55000 checkup. Very short wait for tire rotation and fluid top up with a thorough explanation. I drove home and put my car in the garage. When I drove it out of the garage the next day in the sunlight I noticed that NONE of my hubcaps had been put on right!! Every one of them bulging out in many places. Maybe whacked only once. ???!!!!

Easiest Car buying experience! I'm over the moon excited about our 2018 fully Loaded Honda Pilot! We literally woke up yesterday and said we want to go shoot our shot and try to buy a 3rd row Suv this weekend, we discussed our ideas and comfortable price points with Nathaniel. I just had the BEST experience I have EVER had at a car dealership. My service writer BRENDA went to the moon for me today. I took my car in for a recall fix but the service tech was having some issues with another car which delayed his ability to get my problem fixed. I had an appointment an hour and a half away and BRENDA pulled some strings to get me something to drive in order for me to make my appointment. Mr Johnson should use her as a trainer for ALL of his service writers. I will continue to spread the good word. BRENDA'S customer service is impeccable! THANK YOU!

I arrived on an afternoon where the service was very slow due to a staff shortage from what I was told. I had to wait 1.75 hours for my 5,000 mile checkup of a new car. I was told this was not the norm. Next time I just need to leave much more time in my schedule for the maintenance checks. The waiting area was wonderful though. I will just bring more work and my computer next time to keep me busy while I wait. The folks I came in contact with were very professional and friendly. Overall a good place for service.
Still the best place I've ever bought a car from. Offered free service almost a whole year later after having the car. Express service was very quick and simple. Probably will be back to buy another soon as this one is paid off. Until then, I'll keep referring my friends and family!

When he gives details and tells about the features a vehicle has, he tells all and don't cut no corners.. He made sure I knew everything the car done and in 100% complete detail. He made me feel like I had owned the car for some years and knew the car inside and out with the detail he gives... Just changed this review from a 5 start review 8 months ago to a two star review and now 9 months later changing it to 1 star. My first service was wonderful and services have drastically gone down hill since. It's always way longer than quoted to get work done. Last time when I picked up my car, after a very late service, I pulled out of the lot and heard a grinding sound, pulled back in and then had to wait again for them to fix what they broke. This time, scheduled an appointment for 10am to have my brakes looked at, showed up on time, and at 11:35 had not heard anything. I questioned the service rep and was told THEY HAD NOT EVEN TAKEN MY CAR IN TO LOOK AT IT. SERIOUSLY. I was flabbergasted and told them I was leaving. He then offered me a shuttle to shopping, no thanks and then finally a loner car which I also refused. I live 45 minutes away and would then have to drive it back. They could care a less about how long you sit and wait. Would have been nice to have been updated much earlier and offered a car then. Too late. Never going back...
Unfortunately I had to go back 9 months later to have an airbag recall done that could only happen at the dealer. Was told it was a three hour repair. I scheduled an appointment for that and also decided to have a maintenance service done same day. I figures that would push me to 5 hours. They offered a loaner car which was nice. I brought my car to them, driving in the dark on wet snowy roads and arrived 10 minutes early. 35 minutes later I finally was given a rental car and then found out that they had already taken my car to service with all of my personal belongings in it. Guess I shouldn't have left my keys in the car. Never assumed that would just take it! I ask the man what time I can pick up my car and he tells me sometime tomorrow. Tomorrow? I thought this was a three hour repair? After speaking with the manager I find out that THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE ALL THE PARTS! Why didn't they call me and let me know they couldn't fix my car that day. I'm not available tomorrow to come back and get my car. They offer to bring my car to me tomorrow but I don't know what time they will do that. I'm in a class tomorrow and a chiropractic visit and honestly don't have time to now try to meet someone somewhere on the road. I had an appointment for today, not tomorrow, that's the point. Anyway, I left without the service and will take it to the Toyota dealer in NJ next week when I visit, a dealer who knows how to do repairs on time! Definitely never again Mike Johnson! No more chances for you! What a waste of a morning...

I bought my car there in March 2009 they have done all the service work on the car and all recall work. Took my car in for oil change and routine check on Dec. 4th. Was told we needed new tires so we bought Michelin tires from them and they put them on, day after Christmas the light came on indicating that we had low tire pressure stayed on all the way to beach and was off next day. With less than 2,000 miles on tires light comes back on and doesn't go off. My husband calls and talks to Robert Helm he said it would be 48.00 to check it out, because he had to pay his mechanic and 230.00 to replace the sensor. We talked to a well known tire dealership and they say they will replace it for 65.00 even though we didn't buy tires from them. I am very disappointed in the way we were treated.
