I worked with Eric Pennell to purchase my 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Eric was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgable on the vehicle and it's many features. If you are interested in a new vehicle, I recommend Mike Johnson's Toyota in Hickory.

We just moved to the area and had a battery issue with my Highlander. We assumed that Advance Auto would be cheaper than a dealer, but I am so glad I called to double check. Cindy was the assistant who helped me and ended up saving me $75 if I had purchased the battery at Advance or Walmart or Sam's! Plus, Toyota offered a 5 year battery warranty while Advance's version was only 3! All of the staff at this facility was smiling and friendly and Cindy got the job done in less than 30 minutes! She even provided her cell number for easy contact. The cozy environment, coffee, and popcorn was a nice touch! Cindy was a customer service all star, and I hope she gets a bonus. Her level of customer care has assured that our whole family will be using this Toyota for service in the future. We all drive Toyotas! Thanks y'all!

The waiting room offered nice amenities and provided a comfortable place to wait. We look forward to scheduling our next appointment with Cindy in a few months!

I visited this dearship, with a friend & het grandson.
I wasn't driving a nice fancy SUV. It was a 2001 Ford Sport..with 116,000 MI.
I went with intentions of buying a 1 owner, low miles.leath & more.
We were there over 2 hrs. I never once saw what, I asked to see. I was show 79,000mi.

Sales people do not know their inventory.
I was told quote..I have to check my phone.
Wow..I was hot by the time. I finally left.
Mike Johnson, can keep his $5,000. I never got that far, to test drive one CRV.
I BOUGHT A HONDA CRV..1 MONTH LATER AT FLOW HONDA OF STATESVILLE.
NO FINAN...MOST PROFESSIONAL DEALERSHIP ..NONE CAN COMPARE !!!!

This was my first time going to the dealership, so first impressions are everything. The advisor was really friendly, throughout the whole process. The reason I put it at a two star is the fact that I found out they left two valve stem caps off, and some important papers were crumbled up and put into my center console when all I got was a oil change. I know the caps are not a big deal but if they can t even put those back on what makes me think they can work on my car the right way.

Bad Customer Service. I have bought 2 New cars from them and had trouble with both, my last car caught on fire in my yard and it has been a nightmare.....Do not finance with Southeast Toyota Finance (SETF) they are just as bad,. My 2014 Camry was never late on payments and they don't care, I still have to make my payments while they wait for GAP coverage to pay....they don't care that my insurance has already sent them a check for over 15500.00 and I only have 6000.00 left for GAP to payoff. It took 2 weeks for the dealership cancel my Service Contracts for GAP....I wont EVER buy another car from Mike Johnson Toyota!!!!!

I bought a new Camry and Stephen Marsh was great! He did not try to up sale me and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. He was easy to get along with as well. I also worked with Gus Henao who helped me with the paperwork. I like how he explained the warranties and I feel like I got a package that works for me. He was easy to talk to and they both stayed very late to help me. They have got the customer experience down!

They just look at it and pay me 100 dollars plus the car rental is 165.77. I cannot imagine a customer like me for over 20 years. but they just look at it and I have to pay 100 bucks is sad

In November I visited Mike s Toyota in person as per recommendation from The Toyota Corporation to inquire why a previous request still remained unanswered. Upon arrival, I was thankful to see that Pat Avery was still employed there. I explained my situation to her, and, immediately, she led me to the service department where she found a new employee willing to help but was unable and Brian (I believe is his name), who was able to pull the information needed. I am so grateful for these two for fulfilling my original request from about 2 weeks prior.
I must give Pat kudos for taking time to help lead me to the right person AND staying there to ensure that Brian was able to help. Thank you!!! This type of customer service I had never experienced before at Mike s Toyota. It was a PLEASANT change! Thanks guys for making the difference!

First time car buyers beware, this lady Pat (and from what i hear most of their sales people), will take advantage of you every chance they get. Our salesman Josh Carpenter was very helpful and zero pressure. Everyone we dealt with on our Toyota Tundra purchase were awesome. We got a fair price and everything went smoothly. We had a rocky start with the purchase of our vehicle because the salesman was not very informed about the vehicle. When the car came in we got another salesperson (Bee) who made up for the first. We have always used Mike Johnson's for service even when we lived in Florida. They have always been honest and caring for our needs. BUY FROM MIKE JOHNSON!! We recently traded a 2019 Ford Raptor for a 2021 Toyota Tundra 1794 and couldn't be happier. Paul was our Salesman and he provided us with the best experience ever while buying a new vehicle...I hate buying vehicles but I wouldn't hesitate buying another vehicle from them. Besides the incredible service, the dealership is amazing! They have an on-site cafe, treats, coffee, soda fountains, free WiFi and PC's to conduct business. Definitely worth stopping in a looking at their inventory.

Worst experience ever and have bought 10 new cars in my life. I would not recommend them I ended up having to work directly with Mike and he was as bad as sale person. When vehicle came it was damaged and sale person said I see nothing then Mike came out and said it is clear as day and they will fix it. At that point I tried to leave and Mike said see you in arbitration after my new car came in damaged. I have also been forced to use their service and conartists would be the best word I could use to describe them. 1500.00 of service and orginally reason brought was not fixed returned and they can replicate but found another sound in exhaust. I refused service but bet my exhaust will be a problem now that I have refused service. Again go elsewhere is my suggest all together.

Took My 4runner in for service. Oil Change. Did not request a tire rotation because the day before I go my tires rotated from Discount tire. I had not taken my 4runner to Mike Johnson's previously because I was lied to before. But they kept sending me coupons for Oil changes that were very cheap so I decided to try them again. Wish I didn't. Got home and looked at my invoice and it read on there that i requested a tire rotation and they rotated my tires again. Called Nick on his cell phone he gave me and no phone call back yet and that was a week ago.

My rating is zero for poor customer service and poor repair work. I took my car in and they charge me over $2100 for a paint job to the side fender and front bumper. When I picked up the car, they only repaired the side that was scratch and did not even repair scratches in the middle/side of the bumper, which they SPRAYED clear coat over it! Doesn't make any sense! Who paints over tiny scratches and dents. They charged to take off the WHOLE bumper, fog lights, grills, and even the license plate. $10.00 to take off the license plate, which you can take it off less then 20 seconds (probably shorter then that). I get IT, the insurance is paying a third of the repair but they refuse to fix the small things to the bumper because it FREE work. It's call GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! You would think it's common sense to do a good complete job for the customer and put back a nicely completed bumper instead of fixing only a few things but charge $2100 for it. In short, they did a half -#$ job!!!!!! They were also difficult to work if you have a insurance claim. They will hold your car as ransom for days if your insurance does not send all paperwork. Even if you offer to pay the full repair amount and ask to be credit back later when the insurance pays them, they will not allow it because it's TOO MUCH WORK for them to credit back into your account.

AWESOME!!!! To say at least!! Mike Johnson's Toyota of Hickory, N.C. has the best employees in NORTH CAROLINA. I have purchased three vehicles in one month from them and they have treated me very fairly, love the dealership, I have bought 11 Toyotas from different dealerships and I will be the first to say Mike Johnsons Toyota is the BEST!!! Plus great waiting area for service, drinks, popcorn, they have a nail service for the ladies free while waiting on their vehicles on Wednesday and Friday. They also have free massage while waiting also. Not to mention, great coffee, very nice staff, the best in NORTH CAROLINA!!!! Our son found his dream car a 2013 Subaru WRX on car gurus last week. This WRX was for sale at Mike Johnson's and had just listed..We knew the car would sell fast but it was difficult to make a decision sight unseen and we didn't have time to go to see it. We are an hour away. So our salesman, Norm, took us thru the process from the first phone call... to the end of the deal he described the car in detail and even gave it the sniff test. He explained they could hold it with a deposit. I felt like Norm was encouraging us to put the deposit down to help us get the car we wanted not to make a sale. If we hesitated it would be gone. The car has completely exceeded our expectations...it is immaculate inside and out and has been thoroughly inspected and serviced and had a recall handled at the hickory Subaru dealer. We were also able to get a very reasonable extended warranty for all the bells and whistles this car has...a pretty perfect used car buying experience....

If there was an option to give 0 stars we would. One thing we learned about this dealership is there is no communication between the sales people and finance and each time we went in they throw you off to someone else. Finance guy named Andy shouldn't even have a job with the way he talks to people. Very very unprofessional. Was highly upset when we decided not to go thru with purchasing the car because they kept telling us one thing and than another and when we told him we got approved somewhere else and wanted to return the car his exact words were "youve had the car for 4 days it doesnt work like that". Well if you would have communicated better within your dealership we may have stayed. Also the day we went to pay the down payment they ran off with our credit card and was gone for a good 20 minutes. Very unprofessional. The sales guy Ron was nice but definitely not trained couldn't answer half the questions asked and even messed up on our application. Gus was about the only one there with any common sense. Really sad because we had two of our family/friends make appointments for this week coming but after the horrific experience we had they went ahead and cancelled their appointments too. Its ashame Andy because of your attitude with people you lost 3 potential clients. Hopefully Toyota will look into a better training program for people like you. Never shop at Hickory Toyota go to Modern Nissan not only are they straightforward and dont jerk you around they actually have respect for their customers.

Calling and making an appointment is mostly useless. Every time I've had my 4Runner or Camry in for routine maintenance (tire rotate, oil change etc) 1 - 2 hours. I can think of several places I can get the oil changed for less and in less time with the same oil and filter. 1 1/2 hours to rotate tires today with an appointment. Today was the last time I'll take my vehicles to Mike Johnson's for servicing.

Researched vehicles on line and this Monday morning I went to dealership to check on a specific vehicle. Samantha Fox met me and my wife and arranged for a test drive immediately. Samantha answered all our questions in a very easy to understand manner. This was without a doubt the easiest vehicle purchase that I have ever made. I am 65 years young. My biggest surprise was when Samantha told us that this was her first sale. She was courteous and respectful while serving us. Thanks again Samantha and to Mike Johnson Toyota.

I was preapproved...was told...i went to my appointment said this is my payment range. Was told this is what we think will work. Went day 2 after day one me typing my own information in the computer at the dealership...and hearing all about my salesmans personal problems to get an offer of 200+ more than I said I could do. NothIng from day 1 changed. Knew what was owed on my car and my credit score. said from the beginning what I wanted. I said if it can't be done tell me I can move on. Instead drag me through 2 days and I did half my own work. I was very disappointed after being recommended from my other half that is driving a 2017 4runner from here.

Great selection of vehicles and if they don't have it on their lot, they'll get what you want from another dealer. Friendly staff that know their product and are not afraid to sell it. Busy place, but spacious waiting area with free popcorn and drinks when shopping or servicing your vehicle. Also have a small cafe and safe play room for the kids when you need to talk business.
