I can only say nice things about the group at Mike Johnson's Toyota. Dwayne Willex and Andy Lawhon both worked very hard to make sure we left as happy customers. I know that even after the purchase they make sure you are treated well. Strom in the service department was so nice and helpful with my first 4runner. This helped to make my decision to purchase the second easier.

EDIT: Mike Johnson's Toyota reached out to me to correct the brake issue that we were having since our initial repair. They went above and beyond to accommodate my difficult schedule. I am happy to report we now have fully functional brakes. I appreciate Mr. Eakes willingness to contact me to arrange the repair and settle the overages that we were charged by our representative. Thank you!

I have been a long time customer of Mike Johnson's Toyota who was just given the worst possible service EVER. I was quoted a price on the service (brakes) that I needed and then charged $50 more than the quote because I didn't provide my written notes to the individual who quoted the work. In addition, my Toyota Sienna is worse now than it was before the new brakes. So bad that we now have to pay a third party check to see if any work was done at all. And, to add insult to injury, we were charged for what was supposed to be a courtesy shuttle. I attempted to review the issue with the service representative, but all he chose to do was brag about his current position within the company and refusing to admit that he could have made a mistake. It is so disappointing to see customer service is no longer at the forefront of this business and they are no longer willing to do what's right to satisfy the customer.

I was able to get an appointment without delay. Shawn May was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. My 45,000 mile service was done in a timely manner, plus the state inspection.

Your cafe is fabulous!! The staff was courteous, with good sense of humor!! Prices very reasonable!! Nice to have lunch while car being serviced.

I was told they sell nice cars, decided to stroll through and low and behold once we set foot onto the property it was like a goldfish in a shark tank. The ole fellar on that golf cart was probably a stalker or peeping tom as a child. He came and pissed us off then he sends a minion to try there cant take a no for an answer sales approach... NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE

Great place. Overall, had a lovely experience. I had been to multiple other dealerships and have had terrible experiences. Even other Toyota dealerships. This one completely exceeded my expectations. Helped me get the best financing I could. I drove off with my new car with less than 3 hours of total commitment and that included me leaving while the car was being detailed to eat lunch and pick up some things at the grocery store.

Wonderful place, this will be my first stop the next time I m in the market for a car.

I was an hour early getting my car to be serviced
at Mike Johnson Toyota and thought I d have quite a wait. But Dennis told me that everything was fine.He promptly got my car into the service bay and I was out of there in 45 min. That was 15 minutes early of my initial appointment!

UPDATE: Returned today with a low pressure tire sensor light on. Thank you to Travis, Eddie, Dennis and Andy for a much better experience! Issue was quickly and efficiently handled with no surprises.
WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!! My service contract has ended. Everytime I go in for service they bring a list of things needed. I decline, they offer deals. Once complete you must check because I have been overcharged based on quoted price everytime.

I called and scheduled an oil change, tire rotation and state inspection for my sons truck. My son took the truck to appointment. When he got back home and I looked at the service write up, the only thing that was done was oil change. So now he has to make another trip to get an inspection.

The communications from arrival to departure was stellar and I never had to inquire on status updates as Austin ensured I was keep in the loop. My vehicle had some unexpected maintenance issues which Austin expertly explained and provided in depth details on what needed to be repaired to ensure I was road safe. Thanks for doing a great job on my truck!!

Buying a new car is NOT something that most of us ...

Buying a new car is NOT something that most of us look forward to. I would have to say, that the purchase of our 2017 Toyota Camry last week at Mike Johnson's Toyota Dealership in Hickory, NC, was a pleasure. The two sales associates that we spoke to were honest, not aggressive, not forceful, but truthful people that made the task of buying a new car enjoyable. Cecilia and I would like to say thank you to Bee Yang and Seth Schnuit for making our experience enjoyable. I would also like to thank Justin, the sales manager, for being straightforward, direct, and genuine.
A special thank you to Mike Johnson for closing his dealership on Sundays. This allowed his employee to attend church and be with family. What a great value to build a company on. That was the main reason we selected your dealership for our Toyota purchase.

Amazing!!...the first word that comes to my mind w...

Amazing!!...the first word that comes to my mind when I think of Mike Johnson Toyota of Hickory. From the service center, to the saleswoman, all the way to the finance department. The purpose of my visit was to get a diagnosis test ran on my 2007 Toyota Camry which had been giving me some engine problems. First interaction was with a Mr.Cody Kelsoe. He walked with me step by step about my car, and what had happened, gave me some great advice and also showed me full concern for my car. After finding out the worse news imaginable my vehicle ended up having a crack in my engine with a starting price of $6,000 to began fixing. Being a single mother of two boys while also still working 50 hrs full time during this pandemic is already intense but now being "car-less" just changed to impossible! That was when my next interaction was with a wonderful and smart saleswoman by the name of Samantha Foxx. It was crazy or either destiny because right off the back we had a mutual liking of the color pink. We introduced one another to each other and then i knew she would be the answer to my problem. We ran some numbers, talked about some options, and even had a awesome " heart to heart" test drive ride along. Pulling back up to the dealership I was ready to make my final decision with the choices I was given. Last interaction was with a Mr. Anthony in the finance department. He was so polite and very humorous. By the end of the day, I pulled off the lot with a 2019 Toyota Camry.
Being that I took this step by myself with no co-signer or no massive down payment (less then $300) I knew I had made the right decision moving forward for my family and I.
I am a proud member of the Toyota Family and couldn't be even more pleased.

Tabitha was fantastic to work with at the service department. Although someone sold the tire she ordered for me, she jumped on getting me another one quickly when I came for my appointment. The guys in the back need to learn not to sell items that have been ordered for other people. It prolongs the time we are in the waiting room! I really appreciate the friendliness Tabitha showed me and really appreciate that we were able to communicate and set up the ordering and appointment by cell phone text. This is the quickest way I can get appointments completed. Thank you, Tabitha!

We dealt with Dwayne and Andy and I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. We had been to 2 different dealerships and they couldn t touch the numbers this place did with what we had to have. I thought they were very professional and we will most definitely be return customers simply b/c they made happen what we needed. We love our new Tundra! Thank you and I highly recommend this place and Dwayne Willix was wonderful to work with. If you want professional and quality standards, go here, they won t disappoint.

I bout a 2009 Toyota Camry SE with 40,000 miles on it in September of 2012. In one year, I have had to replace the alternator, battery, Front Axel, tires, brakes, the radio, and the sunvisor. Most of these were issues within the first few months. I always loved Toyotas, but I will never buy another car from these people again.

I recently purchased four new Michelin tires from MJ Hickory Toyota. Upon diving home, three of the four tires went flat and the fourth was almost flat. Evidently, the tires didn't seal properly. I called Shawn May and he immediately apologized and authorized a tow truck. He even came in the next day, on Sunday, to provide us a rental and said "how can he make it up to us." I was impressed with Shawn and stated that I had a 3rd brake light that worked intermittently, and he indicated "he would take care of it." There were no pre-conditions implied at that time. Upon investigating the brake light trouble, he said the light had a short and it would cost over $300 to replace the whole unit. After I said, "I thought you were going to take care of it," he said he would reduced it to $200; but, I was still disappointed in the arrangement since he INITIALLY stated he would take care of it because of our troubles of being stranded on the road and a potentially having a life-threatening situation when the three tires went flat traveling 60+ mph on the interstate/highway making it very hard to steer. While I really think the service department is otherwise outstanding in every regard, I can't, in good conscience, rate them as excellent in this instance when I feel I was mislead by them in not keeping their word.

Brought both our cars in yesterday, installed new apple software on my husband s car and mine needed a little TLC along 2 factory recalls. Ray was my technician and he was very attentive, honest and straight forward. Every technician I met in the shop absolutely went out of their way to ask if I was being helped and what they could do for me. I felt very appreciated as a customer. These guys are my first pick for any of our Toyota s needs.

I have bought 3 vehicles here never had any issues...

I have bought 3 vehicles here never had any issues with sales or service until this weekend. I was getting my regular maintenance. When I got there one of the service bays were open. It took 1 hour & 45 mins. 10 people came and went while I waited that came in after me. No one came in and talked to me about what was being serviced like normal. Other than oil change & tire rotation. They changed 2 different filters & some sort of injection cleaning. They usually come in with your filter and show you what it looks like and ask. No one said anything to me until I asked how much longer. Did I mention I had my two kids with me that are 2 & under. My total was $300. What if I couldn't afford that? Thanks for asking. And my BIGGEST complaint is that they don't have a changing station for kids in their restrooms. I had to change my 6 month old on a blanket in the floor. Talk about one unhappy momma. If you have kids you know how much fun it is to have wait that amount of time. It has never took that long to do normal maintenance. I hope what they changed/cleaned was needed and I didn't get taken advantage of.

i had a great experience with your toyota business. jon newton was friendly but did not pressure to make the sale. he always answered my questions and returned my calls. i still own a 1992 camry with 308,000 miles that i just drove 20 hrs to upper michigan to give it to my son, it drove great so i can attest to how good they are. i hope my rav 4 does as well.

Be careful of the "maintenance for life" pitch. Don't get screwed like me! My family had been buying brand new toyotas for the past 15 years from this place. I originally did not want the maintenance for life, but was persuaded into paying $600.00 after the 1st month, i wished to cancel, you know what the person in finance told me to do? He tells me NOT to pay the last payment on my vehicle.....what the heck is that all about? It wasn't about the $$$. But the principle....go somewhere else! Please.....

I was sold a vehicle as having remote start only to find out the next morning when trying to use it that it was not present. I returned the next business day to voice my discontentment. The sales manager said that I had to wait for the sales representative to come in to assist me. After nearly three hours of waiting the sales representative offered to have it installed for me aftermarket and split the cost of installation with me. My experience and rating would have been perfect had remote start been present as discussed. My experience otherwise was good. I will update this review with the outcome is determined.

Great service at a good price. I have a 2006 corolla with 285,000 miles and it has only been serviced at the Toyota dealership . My wife has a Rav4 and loves it. I want let anybody service my car's but Mike Johnson Toyota. People always friendly and do a great Job.

I purchased a luxury suv from this dealership. Before I made my first payment I had break trouble. After speaking to the service manager, and the sales manager. I am still waiting for the resolution of this matter. I hope my 70 mile drive from Charlotte to Hickory will lead to a better review.

Well Andy Lawhon of Mike Johnson's has solved my break issue. After we talked, he took care of my complaint quickly. The repair was completed near my home, and finished in one day. Thank you Mr. Lawhon!

I received recall notice for my 9 year old Toyota Tacoma. Called Mike Johnson Toyota. Megan Street, Assistant Service manager made me an appointment for the next day. I live 50 miles from dealership, and she offered me a rental car. Fixed my truck and called me at lunch the next day to tell me it was ready. Exceptional, friendly service even though I did not purchase vehicle from them. Recommend highly. Megan is the consummate professional.

We bought a 4Runner from this dealership yesterday and love it! There was a miscommunication on pricing since we did the deal over the phone so it didn't start out great but we were able to work it out and they really worked hard to make sure we were happy and taken care of. Stephen Marsh was our salesman and he is a great guy, we also really appreciated the work Andy Lawhon put in on making sure we got a deal done! We would definitely recommend Mike Johnsons Toyota to anyone thinking of buying a new Toyota

I bought a 2018 corolla from this dealership and nothing but trouble. The 1st thing was water pump went out and front end started making a noise. They supposedly fixed the issue. The problem has returned and now they refuse to fix the vehicle. They claim there was a outburst in January that caused me to be banned from property. They never told me that and continued to service my vehicle till early July. Now they want me to drive round trip of 72 miles for service. Very dishonest company all the way around. If i could give less than 1 star I would.

They both were very professional and knowledgeable. Jon was also excellent to deal with during the test drive, financing and final process of completing the sale!
I was given excellent value for my trade in as well as a great deal on the new car. Great overall experience and I love my new Scion FR-S!! I recommend for everyone to give Mike a try.

Below one star. I called for a potential frame inspection on my tacoma I recently bought from a small dealership. The lady i spoke to said the inspections have all expired and mine expired 1/31/19. That was not what the toyota website said. So I called Flow Toyota in statesville and they was helpful enough to tell me I could still get it done just need to do it quick.

Man! What an excellent experience! Greg Willis is First Class! Patient, kind, very knowledgeable, and best of all, a Believer in Christ Almighty! Made my experience pleasant and accommodating. Bought the 2020 Tacoma for way less than anybody else was willing to do. My daughter will be purchasing a new RAV4 in the near future and we ll be back here again for sure. I took my 2009 Toyota Prius to Mike Johnson's Toyota for repairs to the Hybrid battery. I worked with Austin who walked me through all the repairs and costs. Austin was great to work with, he was professional and available for any questions or concerns I had. My final price was $200 less than the price that was quoted !! Thanks Austin and Mike Johnson's for getting me back on the road.
