I had an injury to my leg on feb 8th that I ended up going and getting checked out with complaints of my knee feeling like it was dislocated, swollen and painful. They did an X-ray put me in an brace and sent me home telling me it a sprain. I had to go to another urgent care about a week later because of no relief of symptoms they had sent me for an mri and found a dislocated knee cap and a torn mcl. When I got home from that I fell in the brace and back to the hospital I went this time with pain not just in my ankle but from just above my knee cap all the way to my foot including my foot. They gave me a bunch of different stories on how they were going to give me something for pain then the next min was a different story. The nurse that I had didn t do his job the way that you would want your nurse to. Behold again xrays and sending me home. Unfortunately this is the closest hospital to be seen for me otherwise I would have been taken anywhere else where they at least do the proper testing to make sure that I didn t do any more damage to my injury. So sickened by the care of this hospital! It s discusting.

My Rheumatologist referred me to Pain Management, since I have rheumatoid disease and ankylosing spondylitis and am in pain constantly. The only option offered was cortisone injections into my spine and pelvis. I already suffer from osteoporosis and cataracts (caused by corticosteroids) - why would I want more of this?!
Pain medication is never offered because apparently everyone that enters pain management is a drug seeker and discriminated against if they have a history of trauma and PTSD.
Nurses were disengaged and unfriendly. Doctor pushed procedures - he blames the CDC for not allowing the prescription of any medications to reduce my pain.
I asked my Ankylosing Spondylitis FB group if this procedure was helpful to them: 102 out of 120 responses said NO WAY!! About 40% of the responses stated the procedure was incredibly painful and caused them MORE pain. Wow - thanks McLaren for NOT HELPING AT ALL.

I have been here for different reasons. While i was pregnant with my now 1 year old i had issues with preterm labor. They also treated me like a drug addict though my tests where negative because i smoked cigarettes, their reasoning was if i didn't listen to the dr about smoking cigarettes then i must also do drugs though i was there almost daily due to contractions and all drug screens were negative. They were rude to me and very judgemental because of my tattoos and taste in music. Not once did my dr see me while i was there then she told my nurse to tell me to find another dr at hurley since i was 35 weeks. When i went for a large cyst on my ovary they didn't check if i was pregnant though i gave 2 different nurses urine samples that were never tested they gave me nothing for my pain which was unbearable then gave me the liquid to do an mri which caused me to miscarry when i didn't even know i was pregnant. I'll take my chances if im dieing going to hurley then go back to this hospital.

Husband was here for gallbladder surgery. Should have did it myself at home.
Waiting for 2 days for them to finally see him. Nurses pay 0 attention to the patients. You could die in the room for 1 hour and they would literally not even know. Had someone tell my husband he was getting surgery before the doctor even came in to give us the results. What a sorry excuse for a hospital. Never again will we go here not even for a splinter.

I came in this morning. Nurses and doctors have been really great. They definitely gauged my personality well and I loved everyone s sense of humor given my circumstance. Great bedside manors and I was seen in the ER in a timely fashion.
I also really liked that Chuck, one of the nurses seeing me, understood the situation and made me feel more comfortable about it.

Terrible service is putting it lightly. Completely and utterly Appalled. Emergency care staff treatment was terrible and proceeded to ship my father out without any treatment. Refused to run test stated they had to be ordered referring him to his PCP. Is this not a hospital? You have access to all test and capability of running and ordering anything at all. Potentially if you re bleeding and they can see the holes, you might get a band-aid or two from Mclaren Lapeer Region!
Incompetent to say the minimum!

The ER in this hospital is terrible. I highly recommend taking the extra time to go to any other hospital then this one. I had a kidney stone that was stuck in my ureter and had a bad infection and my kidney was under distress. And they wouldn t do anything they sent me home in PAIN. I went to McLaren Oakland in Pontiac and they fixed all my problems & kept me very comfortable until I had surgery.

NEVER EVER GO HERE! Unless you wanna die. They killed two of my family members and almost killed me till I told them to move me to Beaumont in Tory were they found out what was really wrong. Beaumont was not to happy the way they treated me in lapeer. They had me in lapeer hospital for almost 16 days with no food and no water. And for my family members that they killed one of them were taken all there pills away and they were on oxytocin so if you know what that is you know that you need to be taking off it slowly not off fast. And lapeer hospital gave me an overdose as well. So don't trust them and go some place else.

I am scheduled for test tomorrow to look at the possibility of cancer. I have insurance with a deductible as everyone does. Your hospital is trying to for e me to pay it in full up front or no tests. You money grubbing pos. The almighty dollar is all you care about. How many patients do you have there without ins. How many illegals are you taking care of at tax payers expense. Just shows you only care about the money. You don t care if we get sick and die. There will always be sick people to line your pockets

Here it is November 15. I am scheduled yet for another procedure. I have been waiting a month for this one. Finally got an app for today. Yesterday the hospital called and wanted to change my app to Monday. I said no. They told me the female dr had an emergency at another hospital this morning. We agreed to go later this morning from 930 to 1130. Now they called and said (he) was still at another hospital and changed it yet again to 200 this after noon. 2 days ago accounting called and threatened to cancel my app if I didn t pay 1300 up front. Nothing but liars and don t care about the patients in pain. I have missed several days of work for things they are supposed to be doing. But they just keep postponing them.

This place is horrible. My boyfriend went in with problems breathing and chest and liver pains. They told him his heart was beating very fast when he was getting up and beating irregularly. He was also having severe panic attack from this. They said they were putting him on Paxil for anxiety and sending him home (even tho Paxil is not fast acting for anxiety). He was also on oxygen earlier that day, but they are letting him leave with no proper explanation. This is the second time he has been here for this problem. And when we find out whats really going on. And if it is life threatening. We will sue. There for over 24 hours. Was seen by the doc only 2 times. And he couldn't even get the nurses to do there job. Asked for something for anxiety for almost 10 hours and got nothing. Asked for a nicotine patch and got nothing. Now he has been waiting over 1.5 hours to be discharged after they said they were discharging him in a moment.

2 diffrent times. For my kids under 8 years old. They are rude. They can not read X Ray. Both times. Went someplace else next day. Bones we're broken. Lapeer said they didn't know. Never go there!!! Iv done my research. Its what everyone says. If you get hurt cross the county line before call 911. That way you can go elsewhere.

I fell and hit the bath tub. blood was never cleaned off of me I heard terrible swearing and jokes from the staff while I was crying. and the ambulance ride was the worst I bumped my head where the gash was and the ent didn't see a vein, so he just said screw it!! nice!

My husband was there for 4 days at beginning of August. He never had his sheets changed, nor given a clean gown or a bath. He was hooked up to a heart monitor and they did not get him up to walk before he was released. He was so weak he fell twice when we got home.

Hands down the best place to have a baby. Staff is extremely well educated. Very willing to help with anything. Nurses, housekeeping, lab, nutrition everyone. I felt like my child and I we re in the best possible care. They even watched our little one so dad and I could nap. My pain was addressed well before I had any issues. Baby products and sanitary items for myself were always stocked. Dr. Daly was very reassuring and comforting. Guided me though the entire delivery. Explained what was going on, so I knew what to do. Overall my entire experience at Mclaren Lapeer goes way beyond any 5 star rating. Thank you to everyone. You re appreciated more than you ll ever know.

Since everyone always wants to post negative things I thought I would share my experience here. My husband and I brought our sick 5 year old in that was very ill. We waited in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and our daughters fever kept climbing so I went and got a nurse and they took her temp again. It kept rising so the nurse went into tje back and let the doctor know! We were taken back right away. The doctor was in the room right away (who was amazing) before the nurse (who was also amazing) to check her over. They were very polite and caring to our daughter and my husband and myself. Doctor Goodman and Nurse Debbie thank you from tjethe bottom of my heart for doing such and exceptional job! Hands down the best experience I have ever had. Thank you.

I Was brought in by ambulance for severe sciatic nerve pain. 10 different Phlebotomists, Nurses, etc tried to draw blood and were unsuccessful. Was there overnight and released with bruises all over my arms and hands. Hubby was there 2 weeks ago for procedure to remove Kidney Stones. After we checked in, we were sent to the waiting room and apparently forgotten about. After at least 1/2 hour wait a nurse came looking for us and found us in the waiting room. We have to be there again tomorrow for final surgery to remove Kidney Stones and I plan to ask the person who checks us in to call surgery while we are still in her office so I make sure they know we are there.....Pretty sad when you only have 1 hospital in a town this size....

My boyfriend sliced his finger open around midnight, we rushed to the ER due to the loss of blood and him feeling faint. When we arrived, there was no one around to assist us besides the security guard who rushed to get someone to start the process. The doctor didn't address himself when he entered the room and he was extremely unprofessional and careless. After getting his stitches my boyfriend asked about the pain and was told to basically deal with it. At that point we were leaving and the doctor was talking to us as we were walking out and said maybe he should stop pouting in front of all the nurses. There was urine all over the toilet seats. This happened 5 days ago and his finger is not healing properly. The stitches are loose, falling out and he is still bleeding. We should NOT have to pay for the terrible service.

I have had nothing but bad experiences at this hospital. I was in a car accident in 2006 and that was the best experience I had there. We were actually treated right away, and given actual medication for pain, not prescribed something that I could buy at the store (like they do now).
My father recently went here (to the ER) after falling through a ceiling and dislocated his shoulder, he had to wait over 45 min to even been seen for triage.
Recently I went there after vomiting for about 30 min straight, I couldn't drink any water, any time I tried it made me vomit more. Once admitted, and they were pumping fluids in me, I almost wet myself many times because I was being ignored by staff after pushing my call button. I finally got someone to just bring a commode in, then I just needed help getting up to use it. I have also been there with an awful migraine, my mom took me because I wouldn't stop crying because of it, I sat in there waiting room for 2 hours before she just took me home.
I keep hearing people I know who work there complain about lack of staff and the like, but that doesn't seem to be a good enough excuse for all the comments I have seen on awful care here.

NEVER COME HERE.

NEVER COME HERE.
Now let me tell you why. Not ONE single person I've known in the 18 years of living in the area has ever had a "good" experience including my family and close friends. Whether it's extremely rude staff, not sanitary rooms, medical malpractice and/or negligence, 7 hour delays,or lack of knowledge, this is the worst place to ever receive medical attention.
To sum up my last visit, basically around a year ago I had hernia surgery, got anesthesia in my eye during the process(not supposed to happen and they didn't apologize to me or react at all besides stating I got it in my eye during the entire surgery) and was blinded for 2 days in my left eye. Called about the pain because I was handed pain meds that were so dull that I forgot I even took them because they didn't relieve any pain...period.....not even the slightest bit. To sum that I couldn't get any relief and a man has to make money so I went back to work the same week and was in a 8 to 9/10 pain the whole time. 5 days after surgery I felt the same pain I had preceding the procedure and called to check me again for a hernia because it didn't get properly treated, paranoid, etc. And I was right, as of right now I have a full blown hernia AND verioceles. Never coming back even if it's an emergency I'll drive somewhere else.

Our experience with McLaren Lapeer Region was outstanding. Their nurses were very kind and helped us with any questions we had while were adjusting to being parents. They took the time to ask and answer questions professionally but also explained it so that we could understand. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything that we needed. You guys are awesome!!! Chris and JoAnne

Most of the staff was amazing good until my girlfriend had gotten out of surgery there was one girl nurse Karmen was extremely rude when we first came into room because one of our family members leaned on a table she said don't touch that so ok we stopped that we'll 2 of our family members used the restroom she came back in very snooty and said I told you not to go on this side of the room or use the bathroom as you can see in this message I never said she said they couldn't use the restroom she was just a very rude idk I told her that she should go apologize to my girlfriend because she maid here cry mind u she has only been out of surgery for 5 minutes the nurse said that I'm not her boss and she don't have to listen to me lol very rude but other than that everything else went great thank you docs and other nurses that were very professional great job :)

To whom this is addressed to. Google has very strict rules on what is posted. No names, no advertising (including another hospital names) no insults, ONLY experiences. Unfortunately, because you (the owner) are responding to all the very negative comments that go against Google review guidelines, you can't report them and have them removed.
When you get a negative review, if it violates guidelines, request to have it removed, and Don't respond to it. McLaren Caro hospital had a couple negative ones I had removed because they violated the guidelines and now they are at a 3 star.

If you are thinking of giving birth here please, please read this. I gave birth once before at Beaumont. Besides my son unexpectedly ending up in the nicu it was a wonderful place with great staff and they were all very good and new all the most up to date and best ways to do everything. This time I decided to try giving birth in lapeer. My ob dr. Allen was great and I enjoyed having her as my ob. The problem came with the hospital and dr. Daley. Also one nurse. Now I will say they were all just doing there jobs but in an extremely outdated way and I m disappointed with my experience. Daley ended up being the one to deliver my son. I had never seen this woman in my life. She comes in and stands between my legs with 2 other nurses. She doesn t introduce her self or say one word. I had to ask if that was her she then finally says her name. I literally pushed for like 5 mins and he was out. Afterwards I m getting stitched up and I ask if I tore. I then find out I was cut. No one asked my permission. My baby was not under any distress and it was completely unnecessary. I was so angry. Beamount did not cut me they said it is outdated and better to tear on your own 90% of the time. Another thing. I wanted to breastfeed, which thank god 3 months later I am still breastfeeding.. no thanks to this hospital! They took my son for like 10 mins right after he was born! They gave him shots, did footprints, weighed him, and everything... I didn t get the skin to skin I so desperately wanted. And the skin to skin which is recommended by most professionals today because it is beneficial for mom and baby. It helps regulate babies heart, body temp, and helps with breastfeeding. Once again I was sitting there annoyed, and angry because my son was a small 6 pounder and his body temp was a little low. It was low because they had him out in the cold air forever instead of on my chest where he belonged! They finally gave him to me all wrapped up.,, instead of naked. Then I began to try to breastfeed. It took a few hours for us to figure it out and him to successfully latch and get anything. A nurse I had, kept trying repeatedly to get me to give him a bottle. I know first hand from my first son who was a nicu baby what a bottle does. He got a bottle and I was never able to breastfeed him. So I kept refusing and begging for more time to get breastfeeding going successfully. Which luckily thanks to the help of another sweet nurse I did. This hospital is so outdated and anti breastfeeding, at least it seems that way! I asked if they had a lactation consultant and the nurse who tried to push a bottle on me basically laughed at me. My recovery from being cut was much worse than when I tore.. I would not recommend.

If I could give 0 stars I would this is probably the worst hospital I've been to in my 23 years of life and let me tell you I have been to alot of hospitals I have sickle cell anemia SS they have seen me various times at this hospital and have even talked to my primary doctors from florida I came in with a sickle cell crisis on Friday in my knees and some abdomen pain turns out I had an inflamed appendix which I had to get surgery for and only made my sc crisis even worse they cut me up on Sunday gave me some pain medicine through the IV on Monday today is Tuesday and they are giving me the option to either stay in the hospital while they cut of my pain medicine or get discharged

This was my second procedure at Lapeer McLaren. I had a tumor removed. This unpleasant experience was made fun. The nurses were once again amazing. They bent over backwards. Especially Nurse Mark. He kept all the patients and staff upbeat. He s the best nurse I ve ever seen....
Thank you to everyone from the check in to outpatient.
I m grateful

This is hospital doesnt get any better! Went there in ER my husband is changing jobs so we didnt have any health insurance, well the nurse was so rude told me they didnt have any beds upstairs and was waiting for an open bed well when we did make it up there, she had lied there were plenty of beds! Then in ER she told me I couldnt stay I had never asked to stay in that crappy place! NO THANKS. Need to hire better nurses that love what they do instead of these crappy nurses. Lapeer Regional Stinks.

I took my son here 12/7/2020 to be seen for pain in both eyes when they move or dilate, sensitivity to light, listlessness, fatigue, and loss of appetite. I waited at least an hour and a half in the waiting room, which is fine, I understand they re busy. We finally got back to a room, the doctor came in asked a couple of questions, NEVER EXAMINED MY CHILD, and then told me he had a dehydration headache and to give him medicine and go home. I explained the pain relievers I was giving him was not working. He acted annoyed and told me to alternate medicines, which I already told him I was doing. Over three hours later I leave with no answers and a kid still in pain. I call his pediatrician the following morning and he tells me to take him to Hurley. In less than 4 hours I had a CT scan and an answer. My 11 year old, who was blown off by that doctor, had an ocular migraine. He was given proper meds and felt better within a half an hour. I will NEVER go to this hospital for anything ever again. This hospitals negligence and lack of care for it s patients is concerning. My experience at Hurley was so incredible. A short drive for such better quality care.

Horrible with their billing. I've been fighting with them for almost a year for charges I do not owe. They also use a collection agency that will sue you and charges you 2.57% interest per day for the amount you owe and they are terrible to try and reach to try and settle. I called them 4 times before I finally got to talk to someone who was less than pleasant to deal with. I do not recommend them at all.

Id I could leave less than 1 start I would. To ANY pregnant woman considering coming here for ANYTHING , dont. Do what you can to go to Hurley or Genesys! I am 28.3 weeks pregnant and came here for fluids for being severely dehydrated from having norovirus instructed by my Ob to go here to do so. The nurse was nice but nothing was done. They did NOTHING. I was at the point of seeing stars and not far away from most likely passing out. My HR was elevated, bp elevated, obvious physical signa of dehydratiom and they refused care for me because I was not Dr. Daleys patient. I was sent away with nothing. I went to Genesys after where bloodwork, urine were ran that showed ketones, and signs of dehydration and treated appropriately!

I am disgusted by the treatment here. A Dr nor Np ever even came to talk to see me. They just told the nurse to tell me they wouldnt give me fluids and since my ob didnt have privileges there they wouldnt do it. How sickening!

My husband works new home construction. He was working and one of the men who works with him said his wife had COVID-19. He was also coughing and did not wear a mask. My husband called me so that we could go get tested. I called McLaren Regional Hosp. In Lapeer, MI. The woman who answered said they had no testing facility and that the only thing they could do was look for symptoms. I asked her where we could go for testing. She was short with me and said she didn t know. How can this possibly be true!! A medical facility, that in a time of a pandemic, who can t test for COVID. We aren t talking about a remote place. Lapeer is 2 hours from Detroit!!! I m sorry but this is totally unacceptable!!!! I m so disappointed with the health services in Lapeer. The people of Lapeer deserve better.

This is an edited review. Originally, I gave the hospital a "1" due to a broken leg issue with my son. The hospital contacted me, and I had a personal meeting with the radiologist, who was very kind and explained everything to me. I have since changed my opinion due to the amazing follow up care and concern of the facility. Thank You!

We use to think this was a great hospital before McClaren took it over. Some of the nurses are very good and nice, but overall the hospital i snot good. My wife was contracting early at 29 weeks, and her doctor would not listen to her, not reach out to her, and would disregard anything my wife would try to communicate. The night nurses were very rude to my wife, and even just asked her out of the blue "Do you smoke pot?". My wife has been in there 5 times now this week, and drug tested every time. Then they commented on her teeth as she had pymia and poor enamel since she was young. Now knowing this we are monitoring our daughter as she is showing signs of this, but all of our boys have strong nice healthy teeth like mine. I am a software engineer and so have blue cross and good coverage. yet they treated her like some drug addict and very condescending. To those there that are good care givers, thank you. BUt to the others, and operations here, you need a major overhaul. And do not blame it on anything else as we all have bad days, but this is a constant occurrence we noticed. Another patient and her husband left that same day because they shared the same doctor and the doctor would also not contact them. They walked out. Me and my wife over heard two nurses communicating in the hallway, and the nurse said "I cannot believe that. I called Dr. ***** and she said she does not want to be bothered unless she is having a baby." This was the last straw. In top of that, we said we wanted to take my wife to St Joseph Mercy, as we had good experiences there, and the nurse told me we cannot do that, and have to go to the hospital they tell us to. Lol Yea, ok. I love how people think since most people do not pay attention to politics, and details of the law like patient rights, that they can just make things up. Well, we are both very educated, and may not look like it, but well updated on current info. Be aware you can have a major hit or miss regarding this hospital.

I had a bad experience with an outpatient surgery there, after being released I went to their website and submitted a lengthy note detailing my experience, they never even bothered to reply.

Update: so after the "owners" saw my review they asked for me to call them however as previously stated I already tried to contact them thru their website detailing my bad experience and their unsanitary conditions, I also made sure to leave all of my contact info. Still haven't heard anything. Horrible place horrible service they just don't seem to care about hearing patients experiences.

This hospital is terrible. I would never come here for anything. My brother and sister in law had their baby here on July 10th and the staff is horrendous. I have never been treated so terribly in my life at a hospital. The baby was taken in a c section and my brother the father was not even notified the baby was born for 25 minutes. Then they told him nothing, they took the baby to another area and he was not told a single thing or able to be around his newborn daughter for 2 hours. After basically having to push his way in he finally got to see her. The staff has been rude and not helpful at all. Its disgusting that these people are even working with babies. If you don't like your job get a new one. Here's a tip for you ladies, I work in health care and if you have patients and their family members are concerned and worried about what is happening how about you treat them kind and like you would your own family. I would never recommend coming to this hospital ever go the extra miles to a better one. Ridiculous all of it. Way to ruin a babys birth for her father and the family.

I am 21 weeks pregnant with my first child I am still recovering from the worst stomach flu I ave ever had. I had not ate nor drank anything in over 20 hrs anytime I tried I puked it up so my mom called my OB and he said to go to the hospital and get fluids asap I was extremely out of it so my boyfriend and my mother had to help get me dressed so we got the the hospital emergency and the lady and the desk brought us to the birthing center after waiting 2 hrs to see a doctor a nurse came in and told me I was being discharged and to just drink clear liquids and crackers even though I kept repeating myself I cant hold anything down if anything touches my tongue I puke the nurse was like I'm sorry but the doctor wont see you or cant do anything for you because your ob is not associated with this hospital. After leaving the hospital I called my ob office and told them what had happened and they said the hospital has to help you if you are as dehydrated as you are but nope they did not so now at this time today it is about 36 to 37 hrs past me being in the hospital I have finally hopefully been able to hold down some water and natural fruit bar popsicles and I am still feeling my baby move around so she I know she is alright but it is possible she could not have been if anything would have happened to her I would have brought the best lawyers with me to court and we will be contacting them (lawyers) anyway to discuss this whole situation. My family and I have never been so scared.

They saved our daughter's life. She had a seizure fell down 12 steps of our deck and broke her neck. The Trauma Center is amazing. We brought her in and they jumped into action. Stabilized her and diagnosed her. She came in with 60/38 blood pressure. They are truly real life Superheroes! They had Dr. Ryan Barrett there ASAP which did two surgeries on her. Dr. Barrett another Superhero! In closing she is walking and hands working. It is amazing how fast she recovered. Again if you don't believe in superheroes trust me take my word they are out there! #Maclaren Lapeer Trauma Center!!!

I was reading some reviews and now I'm worried. I went to pre testing and everyone was polite. I'm going in Tues and I hope it will be alright. I had a awful experience at McLaren in Flint. I'm really hoping these doctors and nurses are nicer and sympathetic.

I recently had knee replacement surgery at McLaren Lapeer. My experience from check in to discharge was excellent. I would especially like to thank the nurses, Nurses Aides and the Physical Therapists in the joint express wing, They went above and beyond to make sure that I had as pleasant of an experience as I could

This hospital is filthy and the staff isn t friendly in the emergency trauma unit. I feel like they are uneducated and just plain don t care. The patient care is horrible, was there a month ago and there was bloody tissues and a used needle on the floor. It s took us 5 hours to be taken care of and over and hour to even get seen. I would rather go to Marlette.

2 things: 1. My girlfriend went there with severe back pain. They NEVER gave her blood work and all they did was give her 2 shots one being a pain reliever and one a muscle relaxer (both did not work at ALL). The young nurse was more worried about getting off her shift than actually taking the time to put band-aids on the injections. She actually said she was in a hurry. We were in and out of there in about 45 minutes which is pretty quick since we were there at about 6:30 a.m..She had a big bruise on here left arm from where the nurse put the needle. Also all of the staff that were in was not on the same page. She felt worse when she came out of the hospital. 2. I had a migraine a while back and they asked what my pain was at on a scale of 1 to 10 I told them a 15 and the nurse had the audacity to say "Well it only goes up to 10" I said than a 10. All they did was give me some pain killers in a i.v. and ran me thru a mri and they still couldn't find the source of my pain. They looked at me like I was some kind of junkie. I would not recommend ANYONE to Lapeer. All they care about is getting paid and going home. They seriously do not care at all about the people who come in. I believe the only way any of the staff got their license was thru a cracker jack box (sarcasm). When my girlfriend went there it felt like a fast food joint. When I went there again they made me feel like I was an addict. Years ago that place was good and they actually had staff who took the time with their patients. My mom had witnessed the abuse of a elderly person a few years ago and she did report the incident. The nurse got into trouble...How much trouble? you may ask I am unsure. A couple of my family members have died under their "care" as well. (Ok so more than just 2 things but still). Sure IF your lucky you may actually get someone who does give a hoot (saying this politely) but 9 times out of 10 you'll get the usual stuck up, doesn't know what the heck they are doing type of people. I feel a great deal of sympathy to anyone that goes to that hospital. END OF RANT!

Pain clinic is Awful! Rude 95% of the time. Doesn't care about patients. Only "procedures" a.k.a. =$$ Being treated like u have an addiction rather than a legit issue on paper! Down right Appalled! You people make me sick! Negative 10 Stars!!

So far I'd give this place a 2 for their treatment of family members. I was humiliated twice by one desk person in the icu. First time, was when i came in before visiting hours before the appropriate time. I had been called to cone in. When i told her this after she so rudely handed me the sheet that gives the times., in front of all of the nurses and techs. Then i was asked who called me in.... and told the times have not changed.
Then just moments ago, i was called out in front of everyone in the icu, by the same person, when I walked in with someone else. Sorry, i do not visit the icu often. And i had just stepped out to make aphone call to notify family.
I feel completely disrespected and humiliated. She could have pulled me aside instead of calling out from behind her desk.

This hospital is a dumpster fire. It took nearly two days to get my appendix taken out, and then the ER waited FOUR YEARS to send out a $50 bill and sent it right to collections instead. This place is mismanaged and the patient care is nonexistent.

I was in an accident and wanted to get checked out... after declining xrays, cat scans, etc... only agreeing to a lab test (urine) and a basic examination. No broken bones, just a lot of bruising. My bill came out to over $1200! My insurance paid half and I had to pay $560 or they threatened to send me to collections... so I paid, even though there was no way I received $1200 worth of care. Apparently, I'm just now finding out that they sent me to collections anyway. I WILL NEVER BE BACK.

My 94 1/2 year old mother was brought in by ambul...

My 94 1/2 year old mother was brought in by ambulance on Christmas Day and admitted into the ICU with low sodium and potassium levels. The reason she had these low levels was because she cannot hear and thought her doctor told her to eat no sodium instead of low sodium so she basically was not eating or drinking anything. When she was admitted to the PCU I spoke to her nurse and told her three things: one was that she needs to ask my mother to repeat everything that you tell her, two I need plenty of advance notice before she is released since I live in Port Huron and my sister lives in Livonia and we need some kind of heads up on her release time and three I need to talk to a social worker with my mother present to talk about services she needs when she returns home being that she is 94 years old, 95 this coming May and lives alone in her home. I called Celeste, one of the social workers, a little after 9 am on Friday, Dec. 28th and left a message on her answering machine telling her that I needed to talk to her before my mother is released because after what happened I need to find out what services are available for her. At around 1:30-2:00 that same day I get a call telling me to come pick up my mother because she has been released (NO CALL BACK FROM CELESTE). I told the nurse that I specifically said I wanted to talk to a social worker before my mother was released and that I needed advanced notice because no one in our family lives less than one hour's drive from Lapeer. The nurse transferred me to a social worker who was rude and abrupt and said there are no openings anywhere for her to go and she would send home a packet with my mother. Absolutely unprofessional, unsympathetic, and she cut me off mid sentence to tell me about the packet she's sending home with my mother. End of discussion. Not any kind of demeanor you would expect from a qualified, hopefully licensed Social Worker of any kind. An absolutely horrible experience from beginning to end. Much inservice training is needed for the staff at this hospital in manners, empathy and mostly in how to deal with the elderly who may be hard of hearing. You don't ask them if they heard you, for God's sake. Of course they're going to nod their heads or say "Yes". They have been independent all their lives and now they don't want to admit they have weaknesses. What you do when dealing with elderly patients is to ask them to repeat what you said. Had the doctor or nurse or tech or whoever told my mom to eat "low" sodium foods had bothered to do this, and she said you told me to eat NO SODIUM, my mother never would have landed in the ICU in the first place. Also, had the social worker come to talk to my mother and I before release, she could have helped me explain the importance of her having her hearing checked and getting a new hearing aide. I found out that she hasn"t done that since 2016 after she told me she went last summer. If she heard it from someone other than a family member, she may have been more receptive to making it a priority. So dissatisfied with my experiences here.

You aren't treated as a human being in this facility. The nurses couldn't care less about the condition of their patients. I threw up in my bathroom and it wasn't cleaned up until the following morning. Lost 20 pounds while here and they wouldn't even give me ensure. I was discharged in a worse condition than when I came in. The doctors have very little experience beyond basic life saving measures. If you have an emergency I'd recommend going to an actual hospital like St. Joseph in Pontiac. It's worth the 40 minute drive, believe me.

My mother and I took my grandmother there, who is having severe alcohol issues stemmed from psychiatric problems. We called the psychiatric unit and they told us we need to take her to the ER first to get her sober. We drove an hour to do this, because we thought finally some help. Unfortunately, when we got there we were told several times that they are not a detox facility which we understand. The nurse Kayla and John were extremly helpful and understanding. They were truly doing what they could to help. Dr. Ditchman on the other hand was EXTREMELY rude and VERY disrespectful. I am a social worker in training and if I ever found out a doctor treated my patients and their families they way he did I would report him. He talked down to my 74 year old grandmother, my mother and I. He did nothing to help her and told us if we didn't take her he would throw her on the streets. In the end he made the situation worse. This hospital NEEDS a social worker or psychologist on hand at all times. Dr. Ditchman needs to be evaluated on his social skills. His attitude, tone and body language towards patients is disgusting.

Went in due to almost 3 weeks of prolonged abnormal bleeding and being extremely lightheaded. They did a pregnancy test which was negative (already knew I wasnt pregnant) and checked my urine which was fine (also already knew). Then just sent me home. Didnt do any further testing or no IV. They seemed like they didnt even care. I recommend going to a different hospital.

Sooo slow. People walking around talking not doing anything and here we are waiting hours for a simple reason. Update... got vertigo this year. They told me I was dehydrated even though I felt fine and have been drinking ridiculous amounts of water but still ran 2.5 bags of saline or whatever through me for no reason.. then charged me 1500$.. terrible place.. gave my child the wrong medicine once too.. the pharmacist caught it.

i encourage every person reading this to NEVER use this facility, UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE! This place does not care about the well being of their patients . I BELIEVE THIS PLACE ONLY CARES ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY IT CAN SUCK FROM YOUR INSURANCE. STAFF INFECTIONS COME OUT OF THIS FACILITY. Due to the many things the ER did wrong, This place nearly killed my wife. The doctors in this establishment should lose their medical licenses and/or be prosecuted. I went here for a non-epileptic seizure. I was astonished at everything they did wrong. Any time i have ended up here i have left AMA. One of the nurses bribed me with pain medication if i "agreed to stay overnight" THIS PLACE IS EVIL EVIL EVIL!!!

1 star is to much for this business. I went in a week ago for foot surgery, the nursing staff is non existence. I laid in bed with not much help at all while the nurses and help dunked around. The call alarm might as well be left off. I don't know why this place is still working. They should be shut down for being so damn dirty. Go somewhere else.

McLaren Lapeer Regional Hospital

McLaren Lapeer Regional Hospital

Brought a family member in on a Sunday afternoon with confusion and possible pain issues. The intake nurses did a good job in checking the health of our loved one and moving the patient to a bed in the ER to wait for the residing doctor to further analyze the situation. The ER Doctor was attentive and made the decision to place our loved one in residency. I have no issues with the ER staff and the care and treatment they provided to us and our family member on a Sunday afternoon. I would rate them a 4 to 4.5 star rating.

I do however have serious issues with McLaren Hospital outside of the ER, especially the third floor. I would rate McLaren Lapeer Hospital a 0 star rating if google would allow and have to give a one star rating for this google review.

Our loved one was sent to the third floor which I am now aware is the hospice and terminal floor of McLaren Lapeer Hospital. McLaren Lapeer does not have a designated Hospice unit or floor and the third floor serves as the holding area for those patients McLaren Hospital wants to discharge or who will likely die on this floor. The third floor in this hospital is the death ward and the grossly overworked nurses, aides and volunteers are so stretched with paper work, taking vitals and other tasks that they have no time for family or the patients needs. Family members were made to feel they were asking the impossible of nurses and staff if they asked any questions or related problems the patient was experiencing. In four days, the only task performed on time was the bringing of food, whether the patient wanted it or not. It did not matter what the patient wanted or even if they were able to eat what was brought. Nurses said little of the patient condition and showed displeasure with any problems a patient had. Often this situation results from administrative cost cutting and I think it was the Hospital s cost cutting measure of not having adequate personal on this floor that greatly contributed to this situation.

Our family was not informed of Home health care as an option and that the only way to be discharged for our loved one, and which the hospital pressed for, was to accept Hospice. Medical information for the family was nonexistent, we never saw the third-floor doctor and the oncologist, and neither provided any medical update until Hospice was accepted. I would never use this hospital if given a choice and would make the drive from Lapeer to Grand Blanc to go to Genesys Hospital in the future.

This place is dirt lol. I went to the emergency room in 2012 and never received any sort of bill or anything (I was like 19 and figured insurance paid for it) and now in 2019 I m having my credit ruined bc this place sold it off to some janky debt collectors in Florida. I would ve paid it to them if I d known, but I guess they just don t have time for that.

Went here for help and 7 years later I m being hurt for it.

My mom is an alcoholic and this review is not against the hospital but rather Dr. John Ditchman. I asked to speak with him privately about options to get her help, and he was not willing to talk to me without her present. I understand HIPPA laws. But this is not that. I am disgusted and the only thing he had to say was that he worked in Detroit and has seen it all. Well I hope he sees this and helps the next daughter of an alcoholic better than he helped me.

Worst ER experience of my life. Slow morning so i was triaged right away. Then as I tried to explain to the PA that the stabbing shooting, unrelenting pain in my head/face had started two weeks prior had started after a dental procedure I was promptly told that they dont know dental and I should hurry up and get out of there and make it to my dentist apt, who had already told me he had no idea what to do. Literally stopped listening to me, wrote an Rx for and antibotic while also saying there were no signs of and infection, and had the nurse give me a pain shot and dischage papers at the same time. I spent more time in the waiting room after sobbing in pain waiting for my ride than I did in the ER. Which lead to a second visit after my Dentist said yet again he didn't know what to do. Second visit I had to bring my husband with me to advocate. Same PA sort of listened to him got the test i needed but still sent me out the door with nope hopes of addressing what was wrong. I submitted a survey explaining how upset I was at this treatment, so far no one has reached out.

The emergency department staff is great! Very caring! The reason I gave 4 stars is because this hospital is very understaffed. My boyfriend cut his finger tip off and was bleeding in then lobby and it took 25 minutes to be taken back to a room. We were there for a total of 4 hours, it took 2 hours just to get him pain meds. I'm not mad at the staff at all. They were being so pleasant for being under so much stress. I appreciated the staff so much. But I wish the hospital would properly staff. I know it's hard to judge how many people will be coming though the ED, but there was definitely a shortage of employees for a Sunday.
Thanks again to the emergency staff for taking good care of my boyfriend. :)

Take my 3 year old for blood work already stressed out because of covid fears . A nice patient said they called 62 so I go over there and they were annoyed and said they already called it and I would have to wait . That is terrible costumer service now I have to take my daughter elsewhere . A attitude because I missed my number ? Like I intentionally did. The Middle aged women with blonde curly hair had the attitude

This review is just for the occupational services ...

This review is just for the occupational services across the street from the main building. It is run entirely by incompetent people. The lady at the desk has no clue what she s doing. I went in there to take a drug test for a new job and I was there an hour and a half and no one was called into the back to be seen in that amount of time. There were 6 other patients waiting. After an hour and a half I went to the desk and explained that I had another appointment and would have to leave if not seen soon and inquired how long she estimated it would be. She said there are 2 people ahead of me for testing. I explained no one has been called into the back to be seen in 1 1/2 hours. She just had a confused look on her face and didn t know what to do. This wasn t a young woman either. She looked like a seasoned veteran. I expect to wait at doctors offices, but this was unacceptable. I feel bad for the 6 other people that were there before me. Who knows how long they had been waiting?

This clinic I was at was only accessible from the out side at the north west side of the building. Again, This clinic was across the street from the main hospital.

I went here for back pain because I got seriously hurt and already have back issues and it took 2 hours for me to get a x-ray, just for them to imply that I'm there just for pain medicine, like I'm a drug addict. I didn't want medicine, I wanted to fix the problem. I don't plan on coming back here unless it's an extreme emergency, I'll drive the extra miles to go to Hurley.

I don't go to this hospital anymore. If I'm dying maybe but..I'd rather not. I've gone a few times this year and always seen the same doctor. Who seems to think because he knows me and seen me before that I'm faking whatevers wrong.
I also was put in the hospital room with cameras and looks like it's meant for mental patients.
Honestly , no one but mental patients should be allowed in there. Its creepy being watched by a camera. Your doctors or doctor dont take anyone seriously unless they are dying.
I understand its trauma, but everyones different. Just cause I'm not screaming doesnt mean I'm not in pain.
Now, when I've been admitted those staff members have been amazing. I have no bad words to say about them.

i would only recommend this place as a LAST option they are very slow and u are waiting for ever i went to there er at 330 in the morning for splitting my leg open i was talking to the guy to get checked in and i got a text and he rudely told my freind to take my phone the text was from someone inportant then once we got to the room the dr came in dumped water on my wound and started touching my wound then didnt warm me and i dont think he was gentle at all and stuck his finger in it witch hurt really really bad then he grabbed a staple gun and just really quickly put 8 staples in then i waited for 45 mins and they gave me a rag to clean my leg up with then waited an hour for 2 sheets of paper work left at 650 this place there staff seems well trained but costomer service sucks

The staff are put you at ease friendly. There is a nice walking path/garden in back. A big fish tank in front with a very personable blow fish everyone should say hi too.
In a back corner is an on-going puzzle assembly. I find it difficult just jumping in on someone's puzzle. I like my pieces arranged just so.
This is all the fun to be had in the waiting area. Oh yes. There is a book swap or give away table. I found some books I haven't read yet.
I can't comment on what fun can be had in the treatment rooms because I've never been. The waiting room is floor to ceiling windows in back so you can see the walking garden if you don't want to walk it.

This hospital is way too small for the large area of community it serves...the service is very slow with staff not very will to help heal...This hospital is very out dated and there isnt much professionalism behind its doors
...It would be good for minor health issues ....but other then that I would advise you to travel the extra distance to insure you will get the care needed

Dr K Down is the most rude doctor ever met and the...

Dr K Down is the most rude doctor ever met and the ER is the most irresponsible group of people who I have been in the same area with.......brought my wife in with extreme pain on side in abdominal area and been here now for 2 hrs and 5 minutes and counting.......at first seemed ok people came in got her information of course and then got her I.V. in but no pain killer like the doctor said would be given yet blood was taken within the first 30 minutes. Then we sat for over an hour and getting more restless and nervous and wife still in very much pain so after sitting and waiting and no word of any kind for over an hour my wife asks me to go and see what's going on....so I went up to the desk and seen doctor K. Down at the desk throwing out gloves and talking with another and looks at me 4 times doesn't ask or even say anything and then 5 more people that I seen walked by or were at the desk and looked right at me and never once asked me if I needed help or anything not even a hello. After about 5 minutes of standing there for all this time dr K. Down finally looks at me for the fifth time and says you can't be at the desk...and I said I have been standing here waiting for help or answers and numerous people walked right by and not one said anything. And I walked away because the doctor said well you can't stand by the desk. Then he has the adasisty to come to my wife's room and accuses me of listening in on other patients information which I wasn't nor could I hear it if I tried with being about 10 feet away some hearing loss. All I cared about was getting my wife taken care of and he also asked my wife if she wanted him to come back, and stated if not we could leave and go elsewhere because he is the only doctor here and he is in charge. Now I get it you have other patients and maybe ones more critical than my wife's situation.....that doesn't matter when it comes to how patients should be treated. I should have listened to my wife when she said she didn't want to come since her past visit about 6 months ago for the same pain on opposite side of her abdomen. And they only said she was dehydrated!!!! And gave her pain killers and on her way......and that same night I took her to the McLaren hospital in Porthuron and they did a little more testing including an ultrasound which made it easier to see what ot was and found she had a 4 inch ruptured ovarian cyst. Now people want to brag about McLaren hospital well the lapeer Michigan one is terrible with their service and time frame but they have no problem Billing you for it!!!! My next step will be the media because I am tired of these places thinking they can have patients or their families treated like this!!!!

This hospital was great for my surgery and ER visit. I came into the ER with tachycardia and high blood pressure which is very abnormal for me. I was promptly seen, told them what was going on and what I felt. Got admitted, got fluids, meds, got blood work done stat. Needed MRI on abdomen, turns out it was appendicitis on the mri and recognized by elevated white blood cells. It showed up 4x the size it should have been. I was promptly told I would need emergency surgery and got it done quick by Dr. NUNNALLY and I went home same night. I appreciate their help and recovery was great.

My daughter was taken by ambulance to McLaren Lape...

My daughter was taken by ambulance to McLaren Lapeer Region hospital. Otherwise she would have never been seen here. She was taken in because she fainted at school and was unresponsive until after EMS arrival. While The hospital did run test they failed to come up with any explanation what so ever of her condition. That s fine, we will be seeking the treatment of doctors anyway. My one star review is due to several mishaps that took place in just 3 hours at the hospital.
1.) my daughter passed out and fell 45 minutes prior to the RN allowing her to stand up on her own and go to the bathroom with zero assistance. She walked away and just left her in ther. Never came back to
Check on her or ask if she felt dizzy. Just seems bizarre.
2.) after coming back from the bathroom the nurse handled urine. Never washed her hands. Hooked up the IV fluids without cleaning the port after my daughter had just come from the bathroom.
3.)On the ambulance ride they tested her blood sugar. It made her finger bleed more than usual so the EMT put a banaid on her finger. Once it stopped bleeding and we took her bandage off there was dried blood on her finger. So, I grabbed and alcohol pad out of the top drawer(I had already gotten permission to get her a pair of socks so I knew where the pads were) When I opened the pad is was bone dry. So my sister who s an RN at UofM checked the package and it was expired since 2013
And several other little things that are less than desirable in a hospital setting.

went for lab work this morning. There were nine people waiting for lab work and one poor lab tech doing all the clerical as well as the actual blood draws. That was way too many people waiting and too much stress on the lab tech. This is when mistakes can happen. McLaren need to get more help there!!!

A month ago I took my husband to emergency room after he cut his finger on a power saw. He was seen immediately. Although it only required 4 stitches, they were tricky as it was right at the first joint. The various procedures and anesthetics required a lot of waiting time, but it was worth it. All staff were efficient, and considering the issues that need attention at an ER, this was problem was handled properly.

I didn't give it five stars, as I think the hospital is understaffed. This is more related to my own emergency visit a couple of years ago. But when I had my gall bladder out after the visit, the surgery was fine. Could have used a little more "post surgery advice" as my surgeon and his office were lax on that. But who knew??
