I visit this Macy's weekly. There is much going on all under one roof. I enjoy the Brow Bar, the shoe department, and the chocolate shop in the basement. Don't miss the Spring Flower Show! It is free. Get off at CTA Red Line Lake and use the pedway to get there.

This place is in sore need of a complete renovation and very understaffed. Worst Macys I've ever been to. All Men's changing rooms on 2nd floor have had broken locks on the doors (been like this for a while); pathetic.

The Macy's in Chicago. Used to be a Marshall Field's earlier and old timers Chicagoans have a bit of snobbery about it but whatever. The store is decent. The staff could be a bit iffy but call for a manager straightaway. Usually problems get resolved well. Expect to spend money here if with your better half :)

Messy

Nice store. The place is great and ideally located. You may not find what you want if you have an accurate idea in mind, but if your plan is just to burn few bucks, then here you go. Staff was always pleasant and helpful.

The employees are kind and helpful ... The store is an absolute mess and in disrepair ... the elevator had zero light in it except for the floor selections ... the marble is cracked on the floors and walls ... the Christmas decorations are dusty ... this was a beautiful and magical place when it was Marshall Fields ... obviously Macy's does not care for the Chicago customer ... it appears Macy's is going the way of Sears by not investing in their brick and mortar stores ... the bathroom by the food court is filthy

I'm sad to say Marshall Fields was way better. I feel like this has been down graded to a lesser appealing Macy's. The store is usually messy and cluttered. I feel extremely overwhelmed when I walk in and trying to find a helpful sales associate is a challenge. Still a beautiful landmark buts that's about it.

If I were to rave about how accessible the wine bar is, people would flock to it and then it would no longer be a Chicago secret. If you're reading this and don't already know about the Macy's wine bar on the 7th floor - good! Let's keep it that way...

Going to Macy's on State Street is always (when I'm not being followed around by their Loss Prevention people) a pleasure. You'd think as many times that I'm in there and how much money I spend that they'd know my face by now. Once I get up to the 2nd floor, the men's Ralph Lauren section and see my favorite associate Toni, it's all good. Her personality and smile is very welcoming! She's very knowledgeable and helpful. If ever you're on State Street and you're wanting to do some shopping for Ralph Lauren, ask for Toni....you'll be glad you did!

Meet a friend on the 7th floor for lunch in the food court. They have seven restaurants with many foods covered. There's a Frontera for Mexican food, a burger place, a salad place, noodles, etc. There weren't too many tables, but we came after the lunch rush. Some of the waitress for food were long, but the burger was good. Be aware that the elevators are old and slow.

Needless to say going to Macy's was a mistake I have learned from now on it's either Nordstrom or Bloomingdales there's nothing that Macy's can give me that I could actually appreciate terrible customer service they don't wrap even there expensive products that you buy. I went in there to buy a Waterford candlesticks bass as a birthday gift and you would think for something that cost $160 that they would wrap it she just put them in tissue paper and not even a box put them in a plastic bag I told her to stop right there I didn't want the product and I was able to go right down the street to Nordstrom Rosie will two by the same identical product they wrapped it beautifully without charging extra and better customer service

This is a great building. All the floors with shopping and very cool displays, made for a wonderful day. Loved the old feel to the building and the interiors were amazing. We had lunch in the Walnut room that day and I was very impressed with the service as well as the decor.

Beautiful store. One of the old downtown show case stores with art deco elevators and mosaic ceiling. Well stocked and lots of sales help. Prices were also reasonable. Definitely a good place to find everything, from hard-to-find specialty items to name brand styles.

Recently purchased a mattress from Macy's. We selected the mattress from the storeroom at this location. We later purchased it online. It arrived damaged but the damage was denied by the delivery team and I had to keep calling customer service to make an exchange. The exchange after a few attempts was made. When the delivery service returned with the replacement mattress, they damaged my actual bed frame in which I repaired myself A very time consuming, cumbersome and disappointing experience from such a longstanding company. I will no longer be a customer of Macy's.

I recently purchased suits from this facility. The salesman, Derrick, was absolutely amazing. He looked at me, said my measurements without even having to measure, and immediately had a suit in mind for my body shape/frame. He guided me to a reasonably priced section and provided me multiple options he thought would look nice. He did not overwhelm me or try to push expensive products my way. He took care of me and multiple other customers at the same time. He was professional, respectful, and knew his stuff. The next suit I buy will be from this gentleman, and whatever he is being paid should be doubled. Thank you so much Derrick! It was the best shopping experience I've had.
