Everything you need and works the best if you have macys card.

The staff here are very friendly, though I have had some waits at the cashier while some lengthy customer processing was going on. As the former site of Marshall Field's, I only come here to purchase Frango chocolates for myself or gift cards for everyone else. There is a bit of nostalgia in seeing the old signs and designs, though it does make some parts of the experience dated and in need of some upkeep.

Good selection of dresses and accessories, excellent site and some interesting discounts.

The biggest disappointment was half the merchandise we looked at had no price tag affixed and there was no sign to tell us what the cost was. Plus any staffing or at the register not on the sales floor.

A very big positive was Paula who worked in the candy Department. She was incredibly customer-focused and very pleasant to talk with. She was a star

Worst experience ever. Filthy & disgusting bathrooms. Messed up & sloppy displays. Embarrassed that this is the Chicago store.

Good collection and decent service. Fitting rooms are hidden in the back.

I would love to love this location but they have issues keeping their elevators in working condition - and when they do their employees are crowding out customers.

A very nice site, we went in just to see the Tiffany glass ceiling and found some other nice designs within the building. We didn't buy anything but as a store it is quite nice looking from a building point if view.

So I'm a customer from the oakbrook location I've always gt my eyebrows done at benefits cosmetics love how they do thm. So I had an appointment today with Deandre........no call to say hey I'm moving to this location nothing. Disappointed in him n this company. He lost me as a client for sure.......thy need better Communication skills

I miss the old Marshal Field's. Glad they still keep the Frango mints, the Walnut Room and other traditions.

The Walnut Room on the 7th floor is the best part of Macys

We took my grandson to Macy's to have lunch in the Walnut Room with the giant Christmas tree!! They started a new system where they let you know when your time to eat has arrived. Beware it may not work, we waited three hours!!!! Once we were called it was great and all the fairies came to see my grandson. New this year was a buffet that had some very good food including dessert and soup.

This is a HUGE Macys with beautiful Christmas Decor. The xmas tree is amazing in the walnut room. Hard to get reservations though must do months in advance. Definitely worth the trip during christmas time

Great sales when we visited. If you visit, you must view the 5th floor ceiling from the ground floor, south western corner.

Had a sale on jewelry 55% off. Used my $30.00 reward. Of course it's marked up. Purchased a pair of earrings. Love them!

You already know about this place, high end quality, high-end prices, and staff that thinks they are high-end also. Nice place great products, but staff can be a little more friendlier.

This is the only perfect retail store you can shop! All items are genuine and cheap! The staff is so welcoming and pleasant to talk to! Everything you need is here! Come and visit now!

The MAC counter is so disorganized in how they service customers, especially on new collection releases! I stood at the counter waiting to ask for the products I wanted yet the clerk kept overlooking me while going to service others who just walked up! By the time the person decided to acknowledge me everything had sold out within those 10 minutes! I was livid! Rude service!

Very good assortment on all its floors. The overall quality is very good. Prices are better after Christmas. The attention was not very good and they had me waiting for a long time, until another young lady arrived and helped me with my purchase.

Wish I could have gotten the Santaland link working.

One of the most famous structures on the State Street. It's a beautiful building that looks like a palace on the inside and a great place to buy clothes as always

Macy's on State Street Downtown Chicago is still a favorite shopping center since Marshall Field's opened it's doors to customers in the Windy City.

I went to Macy's yesterday is search of the perfect ornament for an ornament exchange party I need to go for & found so many good ones that I couldn't decide. What I was most surprised about was the price. I was expecting to pay much more than I did. I will definitely be back before Christmas to get more!

Large clearance section for men, but was told my friend and I needed to leave at 15 minutes before closing. Reason why I took so long is because I could not find any help.

Agree with some of the reviews about the makeup section employees discriminating against Latinas! I experienced the same thing when I went with a friend of mine after class! We waited for almost 20 minutes with them ignoring us. Other people came and they were greeted and told to wait and we were never acknowledged! I had to ask a female African American for help and she was more than happy to assist us! I tried avoiding going back there ever since! The other departments employees are usually nice and friendly! It's always the lower/beauty section that I've had horrible experiences with!

Got a killer lipstick do at the MAC counter. Can't wait to try to replicate.

Good place to shop in Chicago. Multiple floors with escalator and elevator access and a lot of brands to choose between. There is something for everyone here. The place is also convenient as there are restrooms on each floor. Happy shopping!

Very big many floors ... the place looks a bit old already

I love the six floors of shopping the prices could be a little better for the name brand items that are clearance The kids section was a little small for toddler sizes other than that I would shop here again.

Marshall fields old flagship store! There is so much history here, from the old wood floors and original elevators, to the Tiffany ceiling! The store occupies an entire city block! It's huge, and you could spend an entire day and not see it all. (There is a shoe FLOOR!) and the 7th floor has a nice food court and also the "walnut room" for fine dining. Down to the basement for candies, and a sports pub and direct access tot he "pedway". This is simply a must visit for any trip to Chicago!

They have Unique clothing that most outlet stores don't have

As an employee, Macy's is a horrible company. They pay us the minimal allowable by law and do not train us in our products. Commission employees are only paid commission when they are 'out of debt' which means we actually pay Macy's with our commission and are forced into debt by overcrowding employees on the sales floor. This is a managed system of poverty and employee frustration. Managers only seem to care about what THEIR managers care about, which creates an air of suckup all the way to the top. Few employees stay long as Macy's has discovered that a revolving door policy is much cheaper than investing in employees.

I did went in that store and nothing like a clothing are the same but the price are too much. I've always missed Marshall Field.

a bad service from a couple sales lady located in downtown Chicago they we re rude and unprofessional I was just asking a question about the jeans I was thinking to buy it but one of the old lady gave me an attitude!!!

I only went to Macy's to see the dome that was recommended by the guide in the Chicago cultural Center. The dome is gorgeous . First floor , near the cosmetic area. That and the chandeliers were placed when the store was Marshall Fields. The store itself is huge ! Macy's always has good deals

This place is a shrine to the death of downtown retail. The store , dirty and decrepit, has cracked and crumbling tile representing a real safety hazard. The staff seems unfriendly and unhelpful seemingly understanding that it's simply a matter of time before this place closes. Until then, know exactly what you want when you visit; you won't get any help.

Multi levels of merchandise and lots of great deals.

Great array of mens clothes. Always having sales. If you find something you like just wait foe a while and follow it for when they have 25% or 30% off. Last Saturday they had a one day only of 50% off. They have all the designer brands and a great return policy. I shop there so much I am lije family there. Everyone on the mens clothing and shoes and accessories knows me by my name. The sales staff always make sure I get the best deal. Although there is on salesperson named Andrew who thinks he's Mr Macy. He always gives me a hard time about something whereas all the other people just take my return or exchange. I gave him a lot of business but I stopped using him. The managers and also Macy's corporate have gone out of their way
to help me if there is a problem

The furniture department "forgot" to schedule my delivery....and now I can't even get hold of anyone there. Awful customer service. They take your money and run. Stay far, far away for any furniture needs!!

Fond memories of the good old days when it was Marshall Field's.

I was looking for a coat I had found online, and when I got there the coats were in total disarray and none of the staff would help us. The woman behind the counter was very nice and helpful once I found the coat I wanted.

Have not been here for a long long time. What a disappointment. I know many people walk thrugh this place specially here around the holiday season, the ladies room on the 7th floor smelled like a public urinal, used paper on the floor. I can go into most discount stores and find better maintainers.

So much potential. They are just letting that beautiful architecture crumble away. This is what we can't have anything nice anymore.
