Always wanted to eat here and finally got the chance recently. Cool vibe and great location combined with fantastic food makes this a bucket list restaurant in Atlanta.

This restaurant deserves 10 stars!! I have traveled extensively for 25 years and eat at terrific restaurants around North America and occasionally in Europe. Last week at Rathbun's I had the finest steak of my life. The filet on the bone was unbelievable and my two dinner guests concurred. Words don't begin to describe the perfection of the steak and my only regret is now I know how mediocre my own steaks are. I will never be able to duplicate their level of absolute perfection. My deepest compliments to all involved.

We had an 8pm reservation. We ended up waiting 23 mins for our table. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited. Management advised us of the wait and stated he would be sure take care of us. The atmosphere was very nice. The food was delish. The Korean Short Rib Skewers were heavenly! Our waitress was very attentive and payed for our dessert, since we were celebrating our Anniversary. At the end of the evening when we received our check, the manager had taken care of our appetizer and first round of drinks. We thought the dessert was their way of saying sorry for the wait. It was a nice surprise. Customer service top notch!

The food is good. I ordered the bone marrow, carpaccio, and bacon bites. The carpaccio was as expected, the glaze on the bacon was outstanding, and the bone marrow was something I could pass on. For the entree, I had the cowboy ribeye, mac and cheese, broccoli with cheese, roasted corn, and sweet potato au gratin. The steak was delicious, but not the best I've eaten. The sides were forgettable. The service was good. We were given all we asked for, but felt forgotten at times.

The reason for 3 stars is the price. An $80 steak should taste like an $80 steak. I would say I've had better steaks for $30. Broccoli with cheese for $10? A bowl of mac and cheese for $10? It was a bit much. I get they wanna set an atmosphere, but they need to earn those prices and the food did not match what they are attempting to charge. I would not recommend unless they improve quality all around or lower prices.

I will never set foot in this establishment ever again. I used to love it because the food is great and the service match. HOWEVER, during my last visit the unthinkable happened: I invited two guests and my girlfriend to have dinner there. We arrived 10min earlier than our reservation, the receptionist sent us to the bar because we were early even if she could see that the bar was not even accessible because of the crowd. We wait, nobody is coming back to us, so I'm going back to the receptionist area to ask if our table is ready. This time it's not the young lady but a 50ish year old man that receive me and right away starting to make fun of my accent! I don't pay attention to him and get directed to the table that was ready since we arrived!! At that stage, my guest shocked that they made us wait in the lobby in front of the door standing for no reason, he make a comment to the lady that brought us to the table. When she come back to her desk she send us the man that start arguing with my guest in front of his wife and us! The rest of the evening went well with our waiter and the food, but I wasn't hungry anymore... Somehow, when you go to a top restaurant you don't expect being aggressed by a racist and disrespectful person. Today, I still feel humiliated of the treatment I received that night, and I'm even more humiliated for my guests. (If the owner of this restaurant wants to contact me, I'll gladly share the details of our reservation).

Edit: After telling me to contact them, they actually never answered to me... I guess they just wanted my name. (It's been a couple of months now)

Excelent food and service, everything was amazing. Great atmosphere as well.

So,
1st I ve been wanting a great steak for sometime now.
So I decided that I would go to the best in the city. But wasn t quit as I thought . So I ordered a 60 day dry aged ribeye that was to be the best they had, the flavor was very good but the steak was tough, was very hard to chew, eat, swallow, and I have was lookin crazy trying to eat.
I asked the waiter about the issue he acts as if I didn t know what I m talking about as if I m dumb my wife and I travel for great food a know very much of how a steak should be. I wasn t impressed I noticed we were not getting the same service after I told him about this so we paid the high bill and left I very much hope some there reads this and gets this right I rarely never leaves reviews but when your restaurant steaks supposed to be top class they need to know! Kitchen needs work I think place is over rated I should not have to fly to another state for a great steakhouse. Very nice place I will give them that.

Steaks done very well. We each ordered one of their specials. My bone in fillet was very tender and juicy with a hearty level of char. Hers was an uncommon cut of meat (spinalis) and was super tasty. We also ordered the foie gras, which was paired well with some type of sweet sauce. The waiter was wonderful and the atmosphere was enjoyable.

Although I have to admit that the experience did not impress me as much as Bacchanalia did, if you want one of the best steaks in town, definitely give this place a go.

Wow. What a disappointment. Party of 15 tonight. It took over 10 minutes to plate all of us. First bite of my filet was cold. Plate was cold (they warned of plate being hot). Steak was medium rare but cold. 6 of us had the M R steaks and all were cold but only three of us sent them back. The others were too polite so they suffered with cold steaks. Ten minutes later we had new steaks that were hot and cook well. But when they took our cold steaks they took our side dishes. The replacements had no sides and what was left on table were cold. Desserts were just okay.

Awesome food, service and staff. Best place in Atlanta to have a drink and enjoy a cigar!!!

Gretchen was the best server so far in Atlanta fine dining. Kevin's cooks did great, as always.

Amber and Nico gave us wonderful service but the food was the real star. Literally blew our minds. First place I've had that truly felt worth the money.

I was a bit disappointed. We were there to celebrate a colleague s retirement and had a large table in the wine cellar. The service was bad (waiter kept forgetting to bring water, rude at a time)...the $60 steak was extremely (not only me, but others in my table) salty, and then we learned that they were out of their featured steak after the waiter recommended that we try it (you wish the kitchen and staff would communicate better). Many people were disappointed when they found out that they were out.

Awesome. The atmosphere, the service, the overall experience. Great place to visit. Giovanni was fantastic. The waitress ANTRANE WAS SUPERB. I will definitely revisit this restaurant.

If you want OK steak, this is the place to go. $50 steak that is mediocre. Everything else was good though, the appetizers, the desserts, the coffees and the service.

Food was awesome and also there macaroni and cheese was the best ever. Our server Rick was very present and made us feel welcomed for our first time, he also gave some background history on the place and the owner which was very nice to hear. Overall we had a pleasant time we will definitely be coming back.

We like a lot hanging out. Last night we arrived in this excellent restaurant which we didn t know before. We had a beautiful experience there with excellent meal and a professional crew and a professional cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will surely visit again very soon. We deeply recommend.

Wonderful atmosphere. Waiter was always making us feel comfortable and laughing. Provided a anniversary dessert at the end to celebrate our first year together.

The food, staff, and ambiance are all top notch. It can be a victim of it's own success however as at times they are way above their capacity (such as on the weekends). It's not a huge place so it becomes crowded quickly and because the staff continue to try to provide a perfect dining experience they begin to get woefully behind. This makes it difficult to get service and even table reservations don't do much to cut down on your wait time. Try this place out during a less busy time to get the best experience!

One of the best steak restaurants in Atlanta. I got the NY Strip and it was cooked to perfection. It's certainly pricey, but you get what you pay for. Service and atmosphere are good and the food is outstanding.

Received a fat, aged, rare steak the size of my head, grilled to perfection and served with attention to detail. Bourbon menu is pretty good and the sides were awesome.

The steaks and sides are amazing but the thick cut bacon and the great staff are why we go back.

The food was phenomenal and the staff were amazing!

My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant given its strong reviews and designation as one of the top steakhouses in the US. However we were extremely disappointed. Our waiter was unattentive and the service was poor. I don't drink alcohol and when I asked for a non-alcoholic drink like a lemonade, he said they don't have that. I just ended up with water for the meal.

Much of the food was salted to an amount to make it inedible. Our waiter took back the salty spinach and removed it from our bill with no issues, which was great. My $60 steak was overly charred and too salty for my taste. It was a huge disappointment. We had to use the mashed potatoes (the one thing not over-salted) with each bite to balance the flavors and get through the meal. It was our anniversary, so we decided to try dessert. The crumb cake was a pleasant surprise. It was amazing! The only thing we didn't like was the apricot saffron ice cream. It had too much saffron and tasted like soap/chemicals/weird spices. It was just bad. All in all my husband makes a better steak in our cast iron skillet

We definitely will not return to this restaurant.

In the list of top 100 steakhouses in USA. Best steakhouse in Atlanta. Super service. Always crowded and noisy. Book you table at least day in advance.

Phenomenal food and service. Super accommodating when it came to my guest and their allergies/sensitivities. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful with well prepared food.

Amazing Steaks, great oysters and excellent service!

Disappointed. Was really looking forward to Kevin Rathbun Steak, but unfortunately the restaurant didn't live up to the hype. The oysters were good as were the side items, at least while they were hot. The wine list was extensive, but most of the wines were overpriced. The real problem came when our waiter brought out my filet mignon. I ordered it medium rare and it was medium to medium well. I showed it to our waiter as soon as I cut into it and he agreed it was overcooked and took it back to the kitchen. He came back and apologized and said they would have a replacement momentarily. But that was not to be. It took forever and by the time he brought out my steak the others in my party were done eating and the sides were cold. No visit from the manager to ask how our meal was or to apologize for my steak being overcooked. There are a lot of great restaurants in Atlanta, Kevin Rathbun is not one of them. Two stars because the waiter did the best he could with no support from the kitchen.

Hands down the best steak in Atlanta. Having traveled NYC, Chicago, LA, and London I have to say this steak place is one of the best ever. With amazing service, including having servers that have worked there for years, and a great wine selection.

This is definitely the crown jewel of Chef Rathbun's restaurants serving classic steak that is aged, dry rubbed, and cooked to perfection. With a good mix of classic sides and southern sides (jalapeno creamed-corn) with your choice of add ons and sauces made to order. Good for small groups that want intimate top notch food and service.

Everything was great! My wife and I split the steak for two. It was excellent. I enjoyed the jalapeno creamed corn, she liked the scalloped sweet potatoes. I had the short rib for an appetizer, I highly recommend it. Dessert was also excellent. We especially liked the baked Alaskan.

This is an experience of a life. I'm a very picky steak eater, due to improper cooking, however, this place was amazing and exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the entrance to the restaurant is beautiful. The outdoor furniture compliments the flowers and greenery perfectly. It's welcoming and shunning on a bright cool day. Once you enter the restaurant, it sets the bar higher for the food, beverage, and service. The restaurant is cozy, romantic with dim lights and candles on every table, plus modern and classy. It's perfect for couples honestly. I took my mother on her birthday, but I was just repeating in my head how I would love to take my spouse on a relaxing date out in the town here. I would live personally in the restaurant if I could, the energy and vibe is chill, cool, and you feel as if you're in another world. Secondly, our server was amaze balls and made the experience for us three times better. His name is Rick and he is the sweetest, funniest, attentive, and all round a great being. I will come back just for him honestly. His customer service skills are like no other. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials they had. His recommendations were delicious, a man of great taste, and he was just all I ever wanted in a server and person period. Thirdly, the food was speechless. You know when you do your happy dance because something is just that good, while the food will have you dancing. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was perfectly cooked plus made with super amounts of love. The charcoal accents from the grill added to the flavor and sent my mouth on an adventure. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for in addition, the charred jalapeno corn was just what the doctor ordered. Their oyster are fresh as if they were caught this morning, and the dessert was heavenly. I left in a food coma and ready for a nap because it was that good. If you want amazing food with great service then this is the place to be, and let's not forget the steaks are the best I've ever had. Sorry pops but their steaks beats you today. Did I mention how amazing Rick was? Please look for Rick and tell him I love him plus I sent you over for the meal of a lifetime.

Great food for restaurant week the fish and octopus were outstanding

Literally right off the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, this is the best steakhouse in Atlanta. From the dry and wet aged prime steaks, to the expertly prepared appetizers and sides, to the peerless wait staff, to the unmatched cocktails, if you haven't dined here, you should reevaluate your life.

Kevin Rathbun Steak has a great atmosphere, great service, and excellent steak to boot. I didn't enjoy the sides as much as the steak, but overall it's worth a trip if you're willing to be a big spender. Jacket is preferred, but they'll let you in with shorts and flip flops.

Did not meet expectations. Salad was overly salty. Called ahead to let them know we were celebrating a birthday but no one mentioned anything which was disappointing. Server didn t seem to care much. Very busy and loud. Steak and sides were delicious though. Was fun overall but was just expecting a little more attention to detail.

This spot is so cool. First of all it's a Kevin Rathbun creation. So you know that it's going to be great food. But he has done something else here. He has created an ambiance that is refined yet relaxed. In the winter I love to come here on a warmer day have them start a fire on the patio, smoke a cigar, eat oysters, drink champagne, and watch the sun set. Mr. Rathbun has been known to come out and share a stick with you from time to time. Always cool, interesting, and connected people here. Great place to network, hang out, or pig out.

Easily the best steak I've ever had. I had the 6 oz filet and broccoli with government cheese....and I think I tasted most of the other sides my table ordered as well. Truly out of this world!!

What a complete let down!!! After reading rave reviews about this place I was super excited to score a reservation....and it was A COMPLETE LET DOWN!!!! The steak must have been on a diet bc it was small, dry and tough..oh, was it supposed to have a taste to it? The lobster tail was probably from a lobster that was about 1 day old it was so small! And the mashed potatoes taste like they were from a box! The only saving grace was Andrew our server. If you like great food and are hungry, DONT GO HERE!

My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary here and we could not have picked a better place. Our waiter was very attentive and made some excellent suggestions from the menu. The food was excellent and the decor is very nice for a romantic date night. Hopefully we will be able to visit again in the future.

Best steak I have ever had! Awesome service and great ambiance. We had the lobster fritters, steak for two, jalapeno corn and garlic spinach. I didn't love the Summer's End Cocktail but everything else was perfection. We'll definitely be back.

The hostess was extremely accommodating though, we arrived beyond late for our reservations. Our server; Leanne was well versed on her product and offered wonderful menu suggestions and wine pairings. We enjoyed our meal tremendously as well as the ambiance of the environment.
