I attended a wedding at the hotel on Saturday 1st October.
Great setting with great weather unfortunately it went down hill from there.
The meal that we were given at 7.30pm after being there from 2.15 was with no doubt the worst meal i have ever had at a wedding. we were herded into a room at the front of the hotel and offered a buffet type meal of a baked potato, cold chicken on a skewer, haggis balls stuffed bread roll and quiche. Even if the the bride and groom chose this as their meal the quality and presentaion was shocking and embarrassing especially from such an up market estabishment. This was then followed up by bacon rolls later where the the bacon inside was cold with not even tea or coffee's. With the choice of draught beers limited and drink grossly over priced not the review i was looking to give you.

Visited recently to celebrate my mother's 70th Birthday. Had a wonderful time, we traveled for six hours to get there and we were kindly loaned a room to freshen up. The champagne afternoon tea for 20 was lovely, a few more sandwiches wouldn't have gone to waste. All in all great venue, lovely staff and all round great experience.

Seemingly this establishment appeals to people who like to continue to 'party' till 3am in their hotel room as soon as they stop serving alcohol in the hotel, couple that with paper thin walls and an unwillingness by staff to do anything about it and you're in for a terrible night.

Also, the service at breakfast is embarrassingly slow and the food is comparable to a cheap weatherspoons meal.

The hotel has a wealth of charm and character. The staff are very attentive and professional. My room was presented at a very high standard with nothing left wanting . A number of minor points that reinforce that this is a great place to stay include very high quality orange juice, bathroom soaps, shampoos and conditioner not forgetting quality loo roll. All of which may seem minor but it points towards an attention to detail that so many hotels neglect. Fortunately I travel every week with work so the cost is not covered by me but I always look to keep costs to a minimum and this hotel offers very good value for money.

My new favourite track. Set in some spectacular scenery the course was simply beautiful.
Small club house with a limited choice of ales but the food was fantastic and made even better by the sun beating down.
Didn't stay in the hour but if you are looking for true Scottish period establishment then this one will not disappoint, a beautiful example of architecture

Fabulous hotel, service was first class, the rooms and the corridors and communal areas were all totally immaculate. Not even a spec of a dust, truly a credit to the Management. Setting is idyllic.

Just back from 3 days at the Roxburghe hotel. Loved it! Amazing locally sourced food; Grilled venison, lamb, local Eymouth lobster... incredible deserts (Try the chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sorbet). Great bar full of single malt whiskeys (over 100 of them!). Great staff, from the barstaff that set up whiskey tastings to the chef who came and chatted to me about the dishes to the servers and front desk hosts that always wore a smile, set up shooting for me, fly-casting, a trip to nearby Floors castle, a trip to Eyemouth to see the lobster boats, and even mailed off letters for me. Above and beyond!!. I will definitely be back for an autumn getaway of salmon fishing and crackling fires. I took the train, 3.5 hours from London to Berwick upon Tweed, then 30 minutes by car. Amazing Scottish borders escape.

A real nice surprise! This hotel is a gem in the Scottish Borders. Lovely rooms, renovated bathrooms and very nice and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was also top notch, high quality and a great menu. A perfect example of a hotel delivering in all areas and definitely not style over substance as so many people are. Great value for money and highly recommended.

Just returned from a few days staying here. The staff went above and beyond to make this such a special stay and couldn t do more. With the present Covid rules we could not have wished for anything better. Fabulous setting, beautiful rooms, food absolutely delicious. The manager was always around and took time out to talk to us. Will definitely be returning here in the future. Thank you from Debbie & Paul (Iliffe).

My husband and I have stayed on a number of occasions over the last 10 or so years and have always found it to be a wonderful and relaxing experience. The staff are always friendly and food is great. We have also stayed with our four children - which is a challenge as many larger families can confirm. Again we had a fabulous stay and the team made it possible for us to all be together (as opposed to split out all over the place!).
This is a very special hotel and well worth the trip.

Beautiful country hotel and golf club. Lots of cosy corners with open fires to sit and relax. Staff were great, and very professional. Quality of food was absolutely first class. Well organised for covid, and there's plenty of space to keep your distance. Gardens are beautiful, although they are building a new pool and spa at the moment. We'll head back when that's finished!

Went to play golf with three friends. The course is quite long with fairways in great condition. Unfortunately the greens had been hollow cored and sanded which made them very slow and bumpy. Kind of spoiled our enjoyment of the course. Guess the greens will be great towards the end of May.

Visited the recently-opened Roxburghe Hotel restaurant with a group of friends on a bit of a whim while visiting the area. The setting is stunning - clearly a lot of work has gone into the decor and attention to detail. We ordered from the 'bar/informal' menu and the food was excellent - even with an everyday dish like fish and chips, the mushy peas had a really fresh, zingy flavour, the skin-on chips were delicious and the fish was really well cooked and light. The menu was lacking in vegan options, but the staff did (very willingly) put together some rather cool looking dishes for us. Might be worth adding some extra options on the menu. Will definitely try to visit again when we're in the area!

Me and my husband got married here in Feb 2015. From the very beginning the staff were amazing. Teresa (events manager at the time) was incredible, we visited to show our parents round, had our menu tasting and finally our magical weekend. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The staff on our wedding weekend were 10/10!! My mum doesnt drink so she found a young man who could make the perfect cup of tea and would only let him make it for her the whole time. The grounds are breathtaking and the house it's self is what you dream of as a little girl, imagining your wedding to your prince charming. I would and have recommended it to anyone who's planning a wedding or even a weekend away. It's truly magical it gives me Goose bumps thinking about it. Our guests still thank you for inviting them. Even the smoke alarm going off at 6am the morning after didn't spoil it. (They were cleaning the fires out). Thank you so much. Mr & Mrs Hirst
