Joyce Honda and Honda Auto failed to fix a known issue (Air Conditioning Compressor). Poor service experiences at Joyce Honda. Substantial cost premium at Joyce Honda compared to another local Honda dealer.
We had a leak in the air conditioner compressor unit of our 2016 Honda Civic. We brought this vehicle to Joyce Honda twice in 2018 for the same issue (but they didn t replace the compressor last year). This time, the service advisor stated (twice with another service advisor there) that the compressors are known issues and he was a little surprised they have not been recalled yet.
When I got a call later that day, he confirmed it was the compressor but that the vehicle was 2-3 weeks out of warranty and the repair would not be covered. He said he would reach out to Honda and discuss internally and let me know if anything could be done. Advisor called back and said Honda would cover 75% of the cost but I d be responsible for $345 of it. He also said that if I had been servicing the Civic at Joyce that would have made a difference on getting the full repair paid for. The problem is that getting my car serviced at that dealer or not has nothing to do with the compressor. However, I understand if the dealer is saying we ll take a hit and pay for it this time since this is a good customer but if I m not a regular customer basically telling me to go pound sand. The problem is I brought our vehicles to Joyce Honda for 10 years+- for EVERY service item (oil changes, filters, tires, transmissions etc,.). I left because I had to repeatedly bring my cars back when the repairs weren t done and also found that they were charging 30-50% more than another local Honda dealer. When I brought this to their attention, they said I could look for coupons on their website.
When the advisor told me it would be $345, I told him I would call back to confirm if I wanted the work done. I called Honda and they indicated that was the best they could do. I called Joyce Honda back twice but my advisor wasn t available either time. I was told by the lady answering the calls that she would ensure he got the message to repair the car. I got a call back saying the car was ready. When I went, once again it was not fixed and my advisor was not available. I had to bring the car back again a week later to get it fixed. When I came to pick the car up again, the vehicle was ready but the paperwork for the customer in front of me whose car was ready had not been brought up yet. I waited 5 minutes for them to track that down. My paperwork also had not been brought up (from the day before) and it took them more 10 minutes to get it and close me out. While I was waiting, one other customer had the same issue. Joyce Honda still hasn t figured out how to process people efficiently.
The good news is that this experience has validated my decision a few years ago to not continue servicing my vehicles at Joyce Honda (except for warranty work) but I likely will not be buying another Honda either given their reluctance to back/fix a known problem.
Side note: The only reason I found out that Joyce was charging substantially more for service is that after being a customer for 10 years, I had asked them for a referral to their sales department when we were looking to buy a Civic. They said they don t do that but I could speak with anyone up there. I went to the sales department and when negotiating asked if they could give any consideration (free oil changes for a year or something) given I had bought two Honda s already and had 10 years of service with their dealership. They said no so I decided to at least check another dealer. When I did, I compared what the costs would be for my past few services at Joyce and it was 30-50% less at the other dealer that was also local.

Even though the experience itself wasn't bad I was surprise to have my tires checked and get home with a low tire that I had to fill... I would expect that they would put air on my tires for they amount that I paid.
I had a coupon for $35 and the bill end up being $55.
Also they have a big sign saying they accept coupons for other Honda dealers, however they have every excuse not accept any of the coupons I showed them.
I have no intention whatsoever to come back there. I hate leaving a place feeling I have been taken advantage of.

I'm currently at Joyce Honda for a regular oil change. My pilot was left with a service tech at 3pm and its now 4:20pm still apparently being worked on. I was second in the car line and it is not busy at all. Sevice time is horrible here and i hope they can improve.

Worst Honda dealership experience I ve had. I leased my 3rd Honda from Joyce.

While trying to negotiate my lease deal, my sales associate, Dave Streisand, told me he wasn t going to go back and ask the sales manager about the new numbers because my husband isn t even here . I buy and lease my own cars. I was pretty surprised by his remark and I probably should ve taken my business elsewhere at that point.

Cut to agreeing on a deal and coming in to sign all of my documents. I ve been in and out of the dealership for a week and I learn in the last minute that I am actually not leasing through Honda Financial (who I have leased my last two Honda s through), but with a new company who I had never heard of. I was pretty frustrated again at this point because I knew nothing about this company, and I let the gentleman I was signing the documents with know. He called over David, my sales associate, and they both assured me there was no difference between the leasing companies and my experience would be the same.

Well either they were grossly misinformed or they plain lied to me to make sure to close the deal. The leasing company is a smaller company out of NJ and does do business with all states. So I was in for quite the surprise when I moved to GA and they were unable to release my title for me to register my car. If I would ve known this, I never would ve leased the car. We move often due for our careers. Now I m faced with having to return my car 10 months early and still be on the hook for the full term of my lease. I m currently working with the GA DMV and the leasing company to try and reach a solution so I won t be out 3,000k with no car.

The service experience here was unpleasant. When I came to the dealer, there was a long line of cars waiting to get serviced. So I was asked to move out of line and temporarily park somewhere else to prevent blocking other vehicles driving through the lot. They assured me that I wouldn't lose my spot in line. Well I lost my spot and had to complain, only to find myself placed two vehicles behind my original spot!

When I actually got serviced, one of the requested services, resetting the radio code, was supposed to be free. But they ended up charging me $60 for it. After I caught it and complained, they refunded me the money and explained that it was a simple mistake on their part.

I've been to 11 different Honda dealers in my life, and this is the sloppiest service I've ever experienced. They need to learn some best practices from good dealers like DCH Academy Honda or Madison Honda. I do not plan to come back here again for service or for new vehicle purchase.

Went to their service for the first time. When we picked up the car, they lied about the charges and how much our insurance cover in the invoice. They didn t explain or apologize for putting the wrong amount on the invoice, and just said I m responsible for paying the tax, so there s additional one hundred something charge. I mentioned that my insurance statement already included tax, how come the amount is completely different on the statement. They said nothing but did fix it at the end. Will not recommend bringing your car her for service.

Our salesperson, Dave Panno, was very professional and reasonable; not at all impatient, he spend the necessary amount of time with us. I wish I could give no star at all!!! My husband and I took our Honda CRV (9months old, bought new) on August 5 because it started dying for no reason. It died twice before we took it to the dealership. We waited at least 30mins in the car before someone started putting the pylon number on top of our car. If my husband didn t speak out when he saw the car behind us getting help FIRST with a battery issue, we probably would have waited longer. After an hour, we were finally seen. We waited for another hour in the waiting area until they told us that they were running a diagnose with the car because they have no idea why the battery died on us twice. Finally, after over 2.5 hours of waiting, they told us that the battery was replaced with a new one and there s nothing wrong with it.

On Saturday, August 11, even with the new battery, our car wouldn t start again. After jump starting it, it finally worked. Sunday morning, the car died again! We haven't even used the car yet because I have just given birth. So my husband jump start it again. On Monday before going to our appointment with the dealership, it died for the 3rd time!!! My husband finally had enough of it, so we called the road side assistance to have it towed to Joyce Honda.

My husband was told that they couldn t do anything and would have to leave the CRV for further examination. My husband was sent home with no loaner car because they apparently ran out (with no alternate solution) my husband was driven home.

Fast forward, after calling Joyce Honda everyday for the status of the car, they still couldn t tell us anything. My husband has been asking for a loaner car since Tuesday. Finally, yesterday Friday, he was told that we would have one today (Saturday) but they couldn t pick him up because they are busy and was told to find his way there. He asked for reimbursement if he were to take an Uber because no one can drive him. He was told no! The 6th day of having NO LOANER, Joyce Honda cannot even help us at all. My husband even had to play the card to them stating that he has a 1 week old new born whom we need to transport for doctor s appointments. Yes, we do have a second car, but we don t feel completely safe transporting our new baby because it is old with many issues. If you are parents reading this, I am sure you ll agree with me. Using our second car for our baby shouldn t even be an option, but Joyce Honda has left us with no alternate solution.

I was interested in purchasing a certain car but decided it was way too expensive for a used civic. The dealer for some reason kept pushing the car on me. While inquiring about another car that would've been a better option, the car was mysteriously sold over the phone by another salesman. We caught onto the game they were playing and quickly left. The next day I was informed by the sales person that the car in fact was not sold. I've had alot of experience car shopping and by far this is one of the worst. I would avoid this place.

When my friend told me he was looking for a used car I immediately recommended Joyce Honda. My family has bought 4 cars from this dealer and we have always had a great experience. Darwin the sales guy showed us the cars that we wanted to see and explained the many features. He was very patient and knowledgeable. Considering that my friend was going to pay the car call cash he wanted room to negotiate. Like everyone on the market he wanted a good deal Darwin informed us that we had to speak with Luis the Sales Manager. Luis came over and in a very rude, demeaning way, stated that there was no room for negotiation. Even if we were paying cash. Wanted to leave my friend's contact number. But he immediately stated, you can call us if you change your mind about purchasing the car . At this time, my friend and I immediately left. I was very disappointed that this dealership had forgotten about its customer service. I felt embarrassed that I even recommended this car dealer to my friend.

I was out in the market to sell my Acura MDX 2015 car. It was a good car and I had to sell it as I had to move out of the country.

As most of the used car selling individuals feel, usually we think dealers are like alligators in the market who want to beat you up saying everything is wrong with your car so that they get to buy at a very low price. Honestly, that was the experience with all other dealers I visited.

Jorge from Joyce Honda was way different from all the other dealers I dealt with. Jorge was very friendly and reasonable when it came to estimating the cost of my car. He explained me starting with the price he would probable get from the end customer, the estimated reconditioning cost of the car and then finally the price I need to expect.

At the end of the day, it is people who you deal with at the dealership, and it really matters how they respond to you and carry your deal forward. Jorge is the guy who looks for a win-win situation for all the parties involved. I liked that attitude and obviously the price he quoted me for the car.

I saw a certified Honda Pilot on Auto Trader at two different NJ Honda Dealers that I liked. I drove 2.5 hours to Joyce Honda 1st to look at one, then I was going to drive 1.25 hours to look at another. I contacted Eric before I left to make sure that the Pilot was still there. I told him that I was a bit hurried and asked if he could have it ready for me to check out and take for a test drive. He told me "no problem" and was ready when I got there. I liked the SUV very much and told him that I had to rush if I was going to make it to the second Honda dealer before they closed. He took me in to see Tim before I left. I told Tim how I was in a big hurry and how I was looking at one other Pilot and would make my decision that day then return to purchase the vehicle on Tuesday. Tim then said to me "I am going to make you a deal that keeps you from walking out that door". He made me a very good offer. I asked about a couple of minor flaws with the SUV. He told me that they would take care of them. I rushed out the door was on my way to the other dealership. I got 5 miles down the road and started thinking. The other Pilot I was going to see was $1,000 more then the original price and had 13,000 miles less. Now, after Tim's offer the Joyce Honda was $2,700 less. I just turned around and went back to Joyce Honda. I did the paper work and purchased the car. Isabel got me the financing and the deal was seamless! I returned on Tuesday to pick up my Pilot. They had taken care of the two small issues on Monday and everything was good to go. This was worth the drive from Exton PA. Everyone at Joyce Honda was friendly and professional. I will be purchasing another Honda Pilot in the near future and I will be calling Joyce Honda.

I have been told I was going to relieve my $100 refund 2 weeks ago, told by one salesman I needed to go in, told by another I didn't that he has processed it. After calling over 4 times to try and sort out why my refund didn't go through, I kept being transferred to voicemails! I explain the situation and they just transfer me to different people who either cannot help me or people who won't answer their phones.

We needed a car for my college age son whose 2000 Civic finally gave out. We decided to take advantage of the lease specials being advertised by Honda. I've done business with Joyce Honda many years ago and recalled that it was a positive experience so we went back there. I was not disappointed. From the moment that Sharif greeted us at the door at 3:30 till we picked the car up later that evening at 7:30 the entire transaction was completely hassle free. There was no over-selling, no hidden costs, no surprises - just what you see is what you get. Why it can't always be like this is beyond me - great job Sharif! Great job Joyce Honda!! Thank you!!

I have a year old Honda and the brake warning light came on the dashboard with three messages to check the system. You need brakes - this is a serious issue. They said if I left the car they would "try" and take a look at it.

My family and I have purchased 4 vehicles from Joyce Honda. I finally was able to purchase my Honda Civic with them and I was so happy. However, as time went on, the service got worse. There was a recall on my AC condenser and when I took it in back in September 2020, I was told by the service manager that they would take care of me. So I drop the car off and for hours, no call or anything. I was under the assumption my car was being fixed, but once 7:00 came, I called the dealership and service department NUMEROUS times because at this point it had been 5 hours since I dropped my car off. Needless to say, my car wasn t even TOUCHED by anyone and they claimed they didn t even know it was there. Fast forward a few months, and I finally decide to get my condenser fixed along with my oil changed. Again, I leave my car and when I finally call to see if it s ready, my service advisor says that my radiator is leaking and it needs to be fixed with my condenser, totaling about $940. I was shocked and said I would think about it. My AC condenser was a recall which means it should be done free of charge. I took my car to Honda of Hackettstown and got it fixed with no problem, and guess what, my radiator was completely fine! I tried calling the service manager but they kept disconnecting the call. This place is so unprofessional and went downhill these last few years. They lost 4 valuable customers and some because my family and I literally referred everyone here. They take advantage of their customers.

My car was there for inspection because of the orange dash lite went on, indicating check for service. My Accord has a vtec engine,3.5 with
50,000 original miles on it, it is a 2008. It is or was a dream car to drive. Counting tomorrow it will be 3 times in on that same orange lite.

My wife and I worked with Melissa (Meli) on the purchase of a new Honda CRV. She was super nice and helpful, and made the whole experience very smooth. I can't recall the name of the finance person we dealt with for the loan paperwork, but he was also very nice, and made the process smooth and quick. We'd certainly go back for another car in the future, and highly recommend going here if you're in the market for a Honda.

Sales department and finance department are great! Very nice, quick to offer help. It took 2 hours to finish the entire process. 2 hours waiting for an oil change. Only suggestion is to be told how long we are expected to wait for service. But still would highly recommend buying from this dealership

This was our second car, if our first experience was nothing short of wonderful, this one was simply over the top. We went to meet Tim, (since we dealt with him last time and were extremely satisfied with his customer relationship) and to see if we can get some deal in our budget. Tim greeted us with a friendly smile and not only remembered us, but the car that he had sold to us previously.

He handed us over to James Vertil. James took us around to see a few cars, and started explaining different features and price ranges to us. While we were looking at different options, we came across Honda Accord EX-L 2011 model. The car was very well maintained and was in a very good shape. We suddenly wanted to buy this one, but it was slightly over our budget.

In comes the team of Joyce Honda, they made sure that we have the best deal available, with the best pricing options and loan too. All we had to do was to give the papers to James and rest he made sure that everything is worked out just fine. Including the final price with EMI right in our budget. Along with these, Joyce honda also worked out warranty which will suit our needs without putting too much extra load on our pockets.

In less than 24 hours of us visiting Tim, we were proud owners of the best car on the block. More than the money and car part of it, we are in absolute love with the customer service that we receive from Tim and James. They never let us feel that we are not taken care off.

If you are looking for a car, please please visit Joyce Honda and ask for Tim, James and the team. They are simply awesome!! We are very happy with Joyce Honda....Again!!

This will be the place for our next car too!!

I come here for oil changes mostly since it is close by by house and have had a couple of instances where they will list things that come up as "failures" in their quick inspections. When I go to my regular mechanic, many of the things marked as "failures" are false... And this most recent visit for an oil change I drove home only to realize as I was driving yhay my car wasn't running properly and even stalled out twice. I checked the engine and the air intake hose was disconnected. Be cautioned because they definitely try to take advantage of people who look like they don't know much about cars (aka women...)

I went in for an oil change and they chipped the paint off bumper. (My car is Honda 2015) I scheduled an oil change which was done rather quickly about an hour and half. When I left it was raining really hard so I didn't look at my car. When I got home I noticed that my a piece of paint was chipped off the bumper. On my receipt was also an advertisement saying that they work with an auto body shop to fix scratches and chips which was conveniently which is weird. I Called the dealership and spoke to Aaron and told.Him they chipped the bumper. He told me to bring the car in to take a look at it.

I go to the dealership and spoke to Ed the manager at the time it was about 5:30p. The worst manager I have ever encountered the level of customer service is something I had never experienced. I explained to him the situation and asked why didn't they give me a paper that had the scratches from the beginning and he said because customers don't like that. That's so they can scratch and have you fix it with them.

He said that all the mechanics are recorded so they wouldn't do that. I told him if he could look at the camera of the mechanic or when I brought the car in to see if it was there and HE TOLD ME I NEED TO PAY HIM FOR THE TIME HE IS GOING TO BE WASTING LOOKING AT THE CAMERA FOR ME AND THAT I COULD PAY HIM IN CHECK. What manager or dealership says that to a client. He should be trying to prove me wrong. HE TOLD ME I HAD TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY OR HE WAS GOING TO CALL THE POLICE. I told him to call the police.

The police came to the dealership and he was trying to tell the employee that brought the car to the mechanic to lie to the police saying there was a scratch there already. I explained what happened and police said he had to look through the video. His excuse was no one that works the camera was on shift. The police said they will come back the next day. The next day I got a call from the officer and when he went to the dealership they showed him that the cameras have not been working for a whole week. Now I'm stuck fixing the chip out of pocket. If my car broke down next to this dealership I would seriously walk 17 miles to the next one.

Beware that their out the door price does not include that. Keep some money set aside for that when they do come. Also, avoid Domingo, he s a real jerk.

Can you honestly say you have an nice experience in a car dealership? After dealing with Toyota and Mitsubishi I can finally say I had a nice experience at Joyce Honda. My last experience was a nightmare and I thought I was never going to be able to trust another dealership. I ended up with a car which original price was 15k and ended up paying 30k and no coverage at all from them and 17% APR. My credit is not the best but it sure is not the worst. I admit not reading the fine print and so on and let the "salesman" pressure me into buying the car.

I showed up to Joyce looking for an SUV as the car I had was no longer comfortable/convenient for my family. NJ law on car seats has just changed as of Sept 1 2015 and I needed something where my 1 yrld was comfortable rear facing until she is at least 40lbs/2 yrs old. I walked in and asked for Bernardo (who was referred to me) and I tell you... I almost cry to see how amazing he is... Not the typical salesman who only wants to sale you car at the highest APR possible. I did not feel pressure a bit nor was he pushy or tried to screw me over.... He was kind, nice and did the best he could to give me the best deal possible. I walked out with a Honda CR-V $0 down, incredible APR and affordable monthly payments. (Plus insurance bumper to bumper and Gap Insurance) He was able to give us top dollar for my no longer convenient car. He understood exactly what my family needed.

I highly recommend anyone to please check them out before you try any other place. If you are car shopping I assure you once you meet Bernardo "BJ" ( Hector and the nice guy who's name didn't get at the back of the front door, I think he is a manager) you will no longer have to waste any time anywhere else. Buying your next car does no longer have to be a nightmare... Go over there, pick up the car you want, tell Bernardo what can you afford a month and let him work his magic... I promise you will walk out with the car you had your eye on and the payment you wanted... If not lower!!!!

I spent the last 4 months searching for a used BRZ...

I spent the last 4 months searching for a used BRZ/FRS for a close friend of mine. Being in car sales myself and a bit of a perfectionist with cars, he put me on the task to find him a really good car at a good price from a dealer that wouldn't rip him off. I checked out tons of different BRZ/FRS's, some were in decent shape from a good dealer, some were in bad shape, and some dealers were just awful and were trying to take me for a ride.

On wed, my day off, I was continuing the hunt for a car for my buddy and checked out an FRS at a dealer in central jersey. Online it was a good price and looked to be in great shape but when i got to the car, I saw it was a mess. It wasn't taken care of, modded very poorly, and the dealer put on some absurd extras that they did not advertise in the online price. I left and on a whim figured I'd go check out this BRZ at Joyce Honda.

As soon as I walked in Chris Stark greeted me and showed me the car. The car was in absolutely mint condition for the age and miles. Dealing with used cars myself all the time I could tell right off the bat the car was an absolute gem. Taking a look around the lot myself I could tell their other used cars were in just as great of shape, I could tell this was a honest dealership trying to sell great products. I called my friend, told him i found the one, and 2 days later drove off the lot with it.

The entire sales process was not only easy but incredibly enjoyable, Joyce Honda really goes the extra mile to make sure you leave happy. Even though I wasn't the one buying the car they still treated me like a customer. Chris introduced us to most of the staff and we had a great time talking and sharing stories, they treat you more like good friends than someone just walking into buy a car.

Seriously, absolutely incredible experience and I will be sending anyone who asks me about a new Honda to Joyce because I know they will be taken care of and treated well.

first time ever coming here to get my oil change and tire rotation done. By far hands down the best service i have ever gotten, was able to see the service from the window lobby an hour and a half wait but worth it, (saturday) knew that one of my tires was low and the light kept on coming on however i took it off by calibrating it and did not say anything, watched closely and saw that the mechanic Xavier was taking an extra look getting the tires wet, cleaning, checking it carefully stopped and went to speak to the lady that greeted me sure enough lady comes in and tells me about the tire and how the mechanic would get it cleaned and fixed so no longer the light would come on.
Hands down it not only impressed me but proved to me that they have good people working here, that care. Thanks to that not only will i be coming here often but i will also tell my relatives and people i know to come here for their services. Friendly and caring all throughout even got offered snacks and water while i was waiting for the service to be done. i usually dont write reviews but honestly i felt i had to due to the level of service i received. Joyce Honda Services you will have more honda cars coming your way from here on out!!
