We received excellent service on our most recent visit to Johnstons Toyota. Brian Ruperti did a great job in helping both to end our lease and set us up with a great new vehicle. He answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns while making us feel very comfortable. Dave Velez in finance is also excellent to deal with. Thank you!

Collin and Paul know I am an absolute NO-NONSENSE ...

Collin and Paul know I am an absolute NO-NONSENSE buyer and they treat me exactly how I want to be treated. They are incredibly accommodating, friendly, and consummate professionals. The service department is TOP NOTCH too. I am in the hotel business....and their are a LOT of choices out there but at the end of the day there are millions of hotels and thousands of Toyota dealers... not to mention a few equally distant to my house. Service isn't dead everywhere.

Service, Service, Service, Service makes all the difference. Service isn't free...and is worth a few extra bucks if necessary.

Johnstons is the place to buy from. See Collin or Paul.

Andy was a wonderful salesman. He took time to show us numerous cars and was not pushy. He cared that we found a car that was perfect for us and not just the first thing we saw. I would highly recommend this dealership and especially this salesman.

I just purchased my first car through Johnstons and there was no other dealership I d rather have gone to. They were extremely patient with me and answered all my questions. They went above and beyond to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and made my experience as stress free as possible. If you want a sales team that listens to you and works with you whenever you have a question, this is the place to go. A special thanks to Brandon, Andy, and Steve who all worked with me and helped me every step of the way.

Where do I start. My new Toyota sat on the lot for...

Where do I start. My new Toyota sat on the lot for a month so making 2 car payments because they do not do onsite registration, had to mail to the registry. Who has ever heard of a dealer that does not do onsite registration in this day and age. Also phone calls not returned, when I finally picked up the car handed the keys, no instructions on the features of the vehicle other than 'its very quiet because it's a hybrid so don't keep turning the key to start it. " Drive an additional 15 minutes for other dealers.

We were shopping for cars for months at different dealerships. We stopped in Johnston's Toyota and we were pleased with the professional, informative and friendly service. Danny Aurora was our sales representative who guided us through the entire process. Danny was professional, thoughtful and helpful from our initial contact, that continued through our purchase and beyond.

Kelvin is a wonderful person, he listened to me as I explained I was looking to purchase a new car that was safe and more reliable than the car I had, in order to take my parents to their cancer treatments and doctor appointments. I lease my Toyota RAV4 from Johnston's Toyota it comes with two years free oil change and maintenance I recently made an appointment and took my vehicle in for its check up and oil change the staff there couldn't be nicer or more helpful and kind. They took the vehicle right in I didn't have to wait and call me as soon as it was ready. They are very thero and explain everything and answer any questions you have completely I would highly recommend leasing or purchasing a vehicle from Johnston's Toyota I'm completely satisfied with the experience.

This is the last time I buy a vehicle and have it ...

This is the last time I buy a vehicle and have it serviced by Johnston's Toyota. My last service visit was again met with rudeness, no explanation's as to the issues my truck is having, nor even a suggestion for a future visit to properly diagnose the problem. The service department may have been put in a shiny new building, but the service people need training on customer service. Mike has consistently been rude, negative, blameful, and unsupportive of issues I've brought in and the service manager absent when needing that support. I rarely right negative reviews, but this is the last time I bring this dealership business. Closing the Monticello, NY location was a huge mistake, and all the money sunk into the Hampton, NY location seems like trying to shine a pile of poop. Training in customer service and support is greatly needed. My entire experience after buying my Tacoma has been neutral, at best, negative typically.

I fell for the buy back advertisement. Offer not even close to what my car sold for-2000. Was told its a business tactic. Uh, its lying in my book. I should have known better. Waste of a beautiful early sunny spring day. And I drove over an hour on my cousins referral. I guess loyalty doesn't mean much. The welcome lady was nice though! Now ill buy new from the wappingers dealer. I wouldn't buy a lug nut from this place.

Dealer excepted to sell us the car before we even got there. The price was inflated and they made us feel like idiots. I ve never experienced a car sale where the salesman didn t try to sell us the car. The tactic was the price is the price and that s it tough luck. No respect! Don t go here and waste your time. Also, the biggest reason the dealer was so firm on the price is that they were convicted New York is the greatest state to ever exist and filled with wealthy people that can afford their cars. Just because I m not from your state doesn t mean I deserve less.

Had a great interaction with all personnel at Johnstons Toyota, especially Danny Aurora and Lynn Desmond. No pressure, really know their product, not afraid to make suggestions/alternatives but never, ever pushy. This was probably our best car buying experience and we appreciated everyone's professionalism. Highly recommend this dealership, always came through with what was promised with no issues.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware
I have been a long time customer and purchased my 4th vehicle a certified Highlander. First day I had the vehicle water poured in soaking the drivers floor mat and center console. off to service. Two days after that repair engine warning light on, back to service.
I then had a meeting with my salesman and Steven Johnstons who promised up and down that this troubled vehicle would be replaced for me. salesman tried to offer a LE with lower mileage to that of my SE which was out of the question but then again promised to find a replacement before month's end.
That was the beginning of December. Have written a letter to Steven Johnstons asking to full fill his promise but have had no reply after two weeks. Emailed both Steve and salesman but again no response.
Just goes to show that they are your best friend until they have your money and customer satisfaction does not equate.
Totally dissatisfied with this dealership that once was very high on my opinion rating having had a flawless 8 - 10 years of previous purchases...

PS Service department is exceptional.

UPDATE:
I had a long conversation with a sales manager Drew who worked very hard to come up with a solution to my problem offering up a few ideas. Eventually due to his persistence and tenacity we were able to solidify a replacement vehicle , an even better one to be exact.
I am now comfortable in the knowledge that there is humanity in the car sales arena and I will once again be a Johnstons Toyota customer for the foreseeable future.

Drew is a great asset to this dealership who I do so hope will be long lived.

Buying a new or used car can be a stressful experience. I knew what I wanted, I know the year, make, model and options & features. I simply searched for the car and found it a Johnstons Toyota. I drove about and hour and 10 minutes to get there from my home in Hopatcong NJ. It was worth the trip.

The entire staff was friendly and attentive, the dealership was clean and orderly and the price of the vehicle was fair. What more could a person ask for in a Car buying experience. I will return to Johnstons for service and another vehicle when the time comes.

I went to Johnston's Toyota on January 21st to look at, and test drive a 2016 Ram Tradesman. After driving the vehicle I offered my current vehicle in trade but we couldn't come to terms. On January 22nd I received a call from the salesmen and after some back and forth a deal was agreed upon but the Ram had some recalls to be fixed 1st. I recieved another call on January 23rd from the salesman saying a "mistake" was made on the pricing and if I wanted to continue the Ram would be another 4k more. This dealership does not honor there agreements.

I have to say that my experience with Johnstons Toyota has been exceptional. I purchased a 2020 Tundra and from the beginning to the end every step of the process was a pleasure. My salesman Brian was fantastic he kept me up to date with all promotions, and at no time was there any pressure to buy or purchase anything extra I did not want. They made my car experience easy and hassle free. I will definitely be a customer from now on, and will be purchasing my next car from Johnstons.
If anyone is worried about purchasing a car because of sales pressure, go to Johnstons, and they will make you feel comfortable about the process with no pressure.

I give Johnstons Toyota of New Hampton a score of 5 on everything. My main reason is because I was not made to feel pressured at any point during my car search. The atmosphere was relaxed and every employee I encountered made me feel at home. All of my questions were answered directly. I did research on the cars I saw at Johnstons Toyota and feel that I was given a fair deal. I would recommend this dealer to my friends and family. Thanks for the great experience!

I called early in the morning to confirm a certain vehicle was still available and even asked if i can around 5, if I would be able to leave with the vehicle the same day. I was told yes. Got there around 445, they had sold the car i inquired about 30 mins prior to my arrival. Fine. I tell them I m looking for used under 15K MUST be awd and under 70k miles. The kept trying to show me cars over 70k and priced around 19/20k. Finally when i requested a certain other car, went for a test drive to find out a couldn t take the car home the same day! Now, I m not driving another hour and a half back to pick up a vehicle. I have never in my life seen such a thing! I bought a car before, and they stayed till almost 9pm finishing my paperwork, and making sure I got exactly what I wanted. I came to this location, an hour and a half away from my home, because I wanted a specific make and model that they had in stock, and because i would be able to leave with it the same day. Apparently, I should ve just shopped near my house, which is exactly what I ll be doing! They must not want to do actual work for their money!

Chris has been more than great!Ken and AJ both helped us alot through my fathers choice of cars and my car purchase. No pressure from anyone!! They all remember me after a year from buying my car! I'll never go anywhere else to purchase a vehicle.

The staff were amazing. They were everything we had ever wanted in a dealership! We were treated with respect, they truly listened to what we were looking for, and we were not pressured. From the sales manager Paul Blazeski to our salesman Rue Rab, the staff were professional, competent, and personable.
Even the guy who crunched the numbers and arranged financing made us feel important! It's been seven months since my purchase. I've been in for two oil changes and their service department also meets and exceeds my expectations for being punctual, honest, and competent.
I'll come back to Johnstons Toyota for my next car, no matter where I live!

One of the easiest car purchases ever! I saw a used Corolla on their web site and drove up here for a test drive. The salesman Ken Hodge was great. He took us for a test ride through all types of road conditions and he was funny and very personable. We got back and I made a offer and they accepted. Everyone at the dealership was super friendly. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Chris was very helpful to get me into a rental car while mine was being worked on.

I haven't felt this good going to a dealership ever in my life.
The way I was treated has made me re-consider getting more service work done here.
The only reason I came here was to address a recall warranty issue.
I will need some maintenance and service work done. Maybe I will see what they can do for me.

My husband and I have bought numerous cars from Kelvin Guyadeen at Johnston's over the years. Not only is he knowledgeable about the cars we are interested in, but we have never felt any pressure to buy. Last month I purchased a 2021RAV4 Hybrid. Initially only the most expensive model had the accessories I wanted. I had several meetings with Kelvin and as I sat down with him again to finally order this car, he checked the day's inventory and found a new 2021 model of the RAV4 hybrid that just had arrived at the dealership and had everything I wanted for $4000 less.I was much appreciative of him saving me so much money. In addition, I have always been greeted warmly by the employees at the welcome desk.

I really could not have been happier about purchas...

I really could not have been happier about purchasing a new Corolla SE from Johnstons. Andy Bloom was a pleasure to deal with. No pressure, and no false promises. It s the first time in my car-buying life I felt listened to and respected each step along the way.
Andy was informative and HONEST. He was respectful of my son Caleb when he made the preliminary visit, and made Caleb comfortable during the entire process of purchasing his first car.
Andy provided us with options for financing and made us both comfortable. That s why I ll be calling Andy again in May when I come in with my younger son Aaron to buy him his first car.

Bought a used car with only 21k miles the dealer told me the brakes were changed only to find out that the rear brakes are at o mm but the front are 6mm disc at my 3rd oil change. And also if you are doing the dmv after you buy the car do not give out your credit card number. and 4 digit i have no proof but my card was charged mysteriously to a lyft just be careful and if you dont have text warnings check your card statements. this review is to help and warn others. check before you buy. and watch your credit card statements.

DO NOT GO TO JOHNSTONS TOYOTA. If I could give a negative star I would. Brought my car there because it was driving horribly. Car was bought less than a year ago, used, toyota certified, with extended warranty. Only 48k miles on it. Service told me there was nothing wrong. This incorrect diagnosis put me in great danger. I was on Route 6, at night, in the rain, no cell service, when the car just started revving, like it was in neutral. The car behind me almost took me out. Brought it back and was told there was nothing wrong. I left multiple messages on the vm of the GM and never got a return call. Took it to Newburgh Toyota. In 1/2 hour I was told the car needed a new transmission. AND they gave me a loaner car. DO NOT GO TO JOHNSTONS TOYOTA.

I picked out the car and was just waiting on getting a loan through my bank. They told me to put a deposit so that they can HOLD the car for me, so I did. When I got my loan approved I told them I'd be coming in to pick it up and they informed me that they had already sold the car even though I put a deposit!! They never called to inform me they had done it, or asked me to make a bigger deposit. They just sold the car out from under me. And its becoming a hassle to get my deposit back. Instead of just crediting the money back to my card instantly like they said they would. They almost made me drive all the way over there with my reciept after the inconvenience they caused me! I had to go to another dealership even farther away to get the car I wanted. They missed out on a sale!

Sales dept I like - service dept not so much.
Used to be that this place had a good reputation - the service dept was fairly quick, efficient and accurate and you could rely on their service work. My last two experiences have been pretty bad on some very basic service work. First if you re going to rotate tires set the proper pressures with an accurate gauge- that way the tp monitors don t go off on the way home. Second use a f ing torque wrench for the lug nuts and tighten them in a cross pattern so the wheels are evenly tightened and I might have some chance of changing a wheel at road side - my wife s car were set to 150+ lb ft and one was hand tight - the car wobbled severely. Third the air box clips for the air filter were left dangling and not popped back into place.
That was last week - this week - Saturday - I took my car in for a warranty replacement of the drivers side window actuator (which they accomplished in 2.75 hours - went in at 10 and got out by 1 - yes yes I know it s Saturday so ok... ) this Saturday I m back! 1pm appointment for guess what? the tech forgot to reconnect the speaker in the door! so the door card has to come apart again - shouldn t take more than 30 mins .......... service advisor says 2 hours+ thing is I m in for a repair of the repair they f d up in the first place you d think they d make an effort to get me in and out quickly- I don t know makes you wonder -
Update - well it took 50 minutes so I ll can t complain

From the moment I walked through the door until I drove off in my new car (about 4 hours later) signed, sealed, and delivered. Don Winner is an excellent salesperson and was a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, the feeling of disappointment from ...

Unfortunately, the feeling of disappointment from my car purchase experience prevails over the joy! I felt like there was no effort on the salesman part to make me feel as a valuable customer. Everything was done at the very minimum leaving me with the feeling I was buying a little bicycle from a local department store rather than a 32K brand new car from a respectable dealership. I would ve appreciated a brief tutorial on the features of the car, including how to operate the new to me Apple car play. Also, a few complementary gestures/offers, as small as a cute box of cookies, a free car wash, some kind of a discount for adding another feature, literally ANYTHING to make me feel valued and assured that I made a good deal would certainly enhance the entire experience and make it joyful and special. It s not my 1st car I bought from Johnston s Toyota, but I m afraid it s the last one. What tainted it even more is that 3 days after the purchase I ve noticed that the window on the driver s side is not working properly. I called the salesman and he had no interest in helping me out. Of course! The car is sold, why to bother?!!! He told me to call the service department and deal with them! DISAPPOINTED!

Be very careful about negotiating a deal with this...

Be very careful about negotiating a deal with this dealership. I spoke to them and settled on an interest rate based on my credit but when I showed up, they said they can't do it and it went up by a total of 2 percent.!! That's an addition $2000 in the life of the loan. I simply walked out after a three hour drive here. Johnston Toyota is the worst place to do business with. Never again would I come here. The finance guy's name is Dan. I don't even know why they hire crooks like this guy.

Beautiful dealership with excellent, professional staff. I found a used truck online and went in to check it out. Bridget was my friendly sales person. She was very knowledgeable and professional from the time I entered the dealer all the way through the closing and delivery. The detailers did an excellent job cleaning my black truck. No smudging or swirls. Windshield was so clear, I felt it wasn't even there. Finance was quick, friendly and no pressure. My vehicle was very fairly priced and included every warranty in the book, and they topped it off with two years of free maintenance. Very happy with my purchase from Johnston's.

They definitely do not deserve more than the rating they have, and it should be lower! I will never purchase a vehicle or recommend anyone here again. I tried to return a lease and they refused to take it back at first because I wouldn't pay the over mileage fees which are suppose to be billed by the financial company upon agreement once the car is returned. They do not even know their own financial companies policies and I had to speak to 7 different people before I was finally able to return the car after I had to be put on a 3 way call with them and the financial company just so the financial company could tell them they have to let me return the car.The associates are rude and need more training and are only after your money. Make sure you read every fine line and double check the information they provide you with, with whatever bank or financial department you are leasing or financing through. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want a big headache! I purchased a Toyota rav4 from Ruby's Auto on route 211 in Middletown and am very pleased with the service and car!

Just last week I purchased a new 2016 Tacoma from Johnston's. I had been searching for the right truck for months. Close to a year. They are super hard to come by, especially in manual. Ellissa was very helpful replying to my many emails checking in on inventory. When they got the perfect truck on the lot I made my way over only to find out it had been sold! Kelvin was very helpful in talking me through my options - whether to wait, order, try for a trade with another dealer, etc. But in a stroke of luck while I was there the other buyer fell through! Even though I was an obvious "desperate buyer" they still gave me a great price - as good or better than I saw at other dealers. Lynn was great in financing as well - only reason for the 4/5 instead of 5/5 was that he misquoted some numbers. Just an accident I think but still I expect people in finance to get that right the first time. All in all a great experience.

I waited over 2 and a half hours for an oil change. This was beyond ridiculous, making me an hour and a half late for work. Why bother having appointments if you aren't going to follow them? Or why are you scheduling so many if you can't keep up? Also, the service person helping me didn't seem concerned about how long it was taking, as if this happens all the time. If I didn't already pay the special for the 3 oil changes/yr I wouldn't be returning.

We purchased our Toyota Highlander in February 2020 - Aaron Davis was our salesperson and we couldn't be happier with the car, the service and the knowledge Mr. Davis offered in this purchase. We were looking for more legroom for my husband and ease getting our new granddaughter in her car-seat - All of our requests were satisfied. I LOVE my Highlander.

I recently purchased a new 2020 RAV4 XLE from Johnston s Toyota. I Love it ! Bridgett from sales provided excellent service and went above and beyond with providing car information and guidance!

I had a tow package and roof rack
added to my car. The morning I went into the service department I was already highly stressed with errands to run etc. I was greeted by Nisa who was exceptionally friendly and professional and went above and beyond to provide me with information and guide me to Breonna and Chris who also work in the service department. Breonna and Chris were also great to work with while my car was getting its work done !
Thanks to Nisa who started off the process and helped me calm down with her friendly manner. Because of people like her I look forward to coming back to Johnston s Toyota service department for my oil changes and maintenance !
