Four stars based on three experiences.
First: Needed to replace a water heater that was a safety hazard, which also required upgrading my electrical panel. The salesman and the technicians were FANTASTIC! Within a week of me calling them, all the work was done. They were fast and professional, and the financing was impressive. Perfect experience!

Second: Called about a leaking kitchen sink and two bathtub drains that needed to be replaced at a property I own but don't live at. I asked that they call me when on the way because I work nights and I won't see a text in the mid-morning if I went to sleep at 5 a.m. They send two texts and an email, but no phone call. I wake up to see the texts and I call John Moore to let them know I am on my way. I get to the house and the truck is there and I contact dispatch to tell them I've arrived. (It is 45 degrees and raining heavily, so I don't go up to the truck.) They respond back, but the tech still leaves. When I call to ask why, they say the tech called (which he didn't). Waste of time and gas. Zero stars.

Third: They contacted me after my negative review of my 2nd experience with them, and I agreed to try the same services from before. The tech called, was punctual and professional. He was very nice and informed me of everything that needed doing, he checked my other
bathrooms for plumbing issues. The issues were thoroughly explained and fixed quickly, and he addressed some other problems for me. Another perfect experience!

Overall rating: 4 stars. One star off for that 2nd experience, but I'll be back to John Moore in the future. I definitely recommend them.

Had some trouble with my A.C. and called them for a quote. Very pleasant to deal with from the start of my first phone call to them. They asked me what i needed done, how they could help, and who they would send. Got me an appointment asap and kept me updated with the workers arrival. Kiel was awesome. Very patient with my 100 questions, informative on what was going on with my a.c. and all the options i had to fix it. Thanks for everything!

I called for a kitchen drain clean-out to include the clean-out, camera scope the sewer line from kitchen to main line, and recommendation for any other work. From the first call to completion on site the job was fast, excellent service. Scoping the kitchen drain line in this old house revealed a caved in line. We got an estimate and from john Moore and 2 more competitive bids. John Moore was competitive, on time, efficient and cleaned up after their work. Did I mention courteous? Really nice people.

Arrived at 9 am and finished by 5 pm. Maintained a clean area in house and picked up all trash from this 45 year old flex duct and 2 mixing box replacement effort. They even noticed 1 of the AC units needed Freon. Very professional workmanship.

I've been using John Moore for over 18 years and never once had a problem or complaint with any of their technicians! They're always professional, always on time, and never once failed to solve the problem I called them in to fix. I've used them for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and pet control. You truly can't go wrong with this company.

Kiel was a courteous and quick technician. He was even friendly with my somewhat obnoxious dog who gets very curious with new people.

Had Charles out yesterday from John Moore Services for a routine A/C check for us getting ready for the summer and he was on time, friendly and very thorough. 2nd time I've used John Moore and always satisfied with price and service. Will continue to use them and recommend them.

Unbeknownst to me, I had blown the fuse on the furnace circuit board while attempting to install my nest thermostat. Not knowing what the problem after I competed installation, I contacted JohnMoore... Within 5 minutes of arriving at my house, Pete was able to determine and fix the issue with my thermostat/furnace. In addition to solving the problem, he shared his abundant knowledge of my system and gave recommendations for future work that would greatly improve efficiency. Overall, my problem was fixed promptly and it really was a learning experience.

Russell took wonderful care of our plumbing needs! Very thankful for his service and would request him personally if there is a future issue.

I have seen the commercials and decided to give them a call. I had someone come out, Jamie, and he said that I needed to replace my entire system for $14,500! Then he said that he could just replace half of my system for $9,000 or he could "bandage" it up for $3,000! I called another company and got it fixed for $300. STAY AWAY FROM JOHN MOORE! They rip you off and are untrustworthy. All they want is what's best for them, not what's in the best interest of their client.

Professional and courteous Miguel helped diagnose the problem and was very straightforward with us.

Willie Glass was very professional and has tremendous customer service skills. He arrived at my home within the time frame promised.

We are very satisfied with the outcome. A little disappointed with finance options. But it was still worth it. I will definitely be using them again.

Smiley is the best. He treated customer with care and his excellent service. Could not find anyone better.

Leonard is with the electrical department. He was warm, friendly. Very thorough and professional. He put in 2 smoke alarms. He replaced 5 heat sensors in the ceiling recessed lighting. I was very happy..success !!

Adam is with the plumbing department. I had my water turned off for 12 days. Adam found 4 leaks in 1 pipe that ran from the hot water heater in the garage through a breezeway and into the house. Adam fixed all the leaks & listened to hear if there were any other leaks when I turned the water back on. Adam saved the day. All fixed.. success !!

The service was perfect,the product however was damaged upon recieving. Because of my immediate need, a damaged water heater was installed. Hopefully, the damage will not affect the operation....

Not only got someone out to me on the same day I called, but he made it two hours earlier than estimated. Courteous, knowledgeable, and professional all the way.

Our journeyman also replaced 23 year old shutout valves and supply lines on both new toilets and under the sink that needed the serious drain unclogging.

2020 Again we used John Moore to fix a shower drain issue. We were given several options and possible future work that would need to be done. The drain issue was resolved and we know what to do to prevent future problems.

2015 - We had the old plumbing pipes replaced in the attic with Pex. John Moore was completely professional from the technician who came out to review the issue, educate us on what needed to be done and why, to the plumbers who came and did the work quickly and carefully, to the office setting up the inspection, and to the renovation team who came in and repaired the sheet rock, which was cut into as minimally as possible. They stayed on top of the project the entire way through.

My husband and I recently called because our air conditioner went out. Having no AC isn't a choice when you Live in Houston with a small child. We called them and they came the next day, and within 2hrs our AC was fixed! The technician was very polite and respectful of our house. I would definitely recommend John Moore Services.

I question the level of knowledge, ability to understand customer needs, and willingness to do anything past the simple job. The plumber that came out was a great guy and tried, but didn't understand what I wanted and seemed unable to give me any reason why they couldn't complete the bid/job. I bought a new tri-fuel portable generator. I called John Moore to get a quote for a transfer switch and see about getting a gas line run so I could hook up to the natural gas line and not worry about filling gas cans or 20 pound propane bottles during a hurricane. First the dispatcher tells me they don't do transfer switches, but they could send a plumber out. Plumber comes out and seems mystified by my request. Calls back to the shop, talks to electrician and he tells me my generator is too small. I point out that I am only wanting to run certain circuits, not whole home. Electrician on the phone tells me I can't do it because you can't run generator inside garage where the electrical panel is. I tell him I never said I wanted that, we need to run a line from outside through the outside wall with a plug on the outside of the house to a transfer switch located in the garage. Finally he says that is doable. Great. But the plumber is still flummoxed about running the natural gas line. Says he will check with master plumber and get back to me with a quote. He takes pictures of locations, panel, generator, and even the quick installation guide that shows procedure for starting the generator with each different type of fuel. I ask him if he wants to take picture of spec page in manual, he says no need. I get a text later from him saying master plumber says my generator doesn't support Natural Gas. I send text photo of generator owners manual, including spec sheet showing natural gas installation guidelines and say thanks. I guess if John Moore Master Plumber isn't willing to install natural gas to a natural gas capable generator, then I guess they won't install it no matter what.

Sky Tiwater is a really knowledgeable Tech and very personable and a nice guy. He doesn't mind the customer asking him questions and becoming knowledgeable. Earlier, I had changed out the run/start capacitor myself yesterday (May 7, 2020) and forgot to turn back the A/C breaker in the breaker panel box, in the garage, in my attempt to fix the Unit myself. Sky found the problem immediately. I flipped it back on and the outside condensing unit immediately started to work. He even tested both the amps on my Cooling fan motor and compressor complimentary and both still have life. He is a very honest Tech and never tried to scam or upsell me anything. John Moore last did service for me in Oct 2019 to clear a blocked condensate line on this same unit and it still works perfectly. They are always my go-to-company when I can't troubleshoot stuff myself. I have been very satisfied utilizing their services in the past and will continue to do so in the future, especially when things get too complicated for me and I can't troubleshoot issues myself. The receptionist got us a repair for that same day, because we had AC condensate filling a sewer line that also served a sink and was filling the sink. Miguel evaluated the problem and cleaned drain. Made recommendation to solve problem completely, which we are now evaluating. Miguel was knowledgeable and explained clearly what he was going to do and what the ultimate solution would be. Incredible, white glove service. Mr Juan did everything needed to insure the rat issue I was having was resolved and he cared! He followed up, he responded to texts, he was persistent, You would think they paid him per rat killed, lol.. The price is fair, not the cheapest, but worth every red cent! You do nothing but pay and they handle the rest.. I love the service! I will definitely contact John Moore again for other issues!

John C. provided excellent customer service. He was also very patient and well-versed. We truly appreciated his knowledge and expertise.

Our AC was not working and the technician showed up very quickly within our time slot. He easily and quickly diagnosed the issue and it was fixed within 20 minutes. He was friendly and courteous and professional.

They are always courteous on the phone and keep me updated on any changes in plans. Recently, the technician arrived right on time and he promplty made my repair.

Even though to repair a leaky faucet $250 is way above my pay grade. Alex explained to me a few pointers. I appreciated John Moore and Alex's honesty. I fixed it myself in 2 Hours! Thank you John Moore and Alex

Mr. Hamad Dardouk was very professional and fix the problem with in an hour. We were without heat on one of the coldest night and he made sure before he left that we would not spend another night in the cold. I would recommend him and would request him on any future jobs if needed. He is a very nice young man and knows what he was doing.

I had a small repair ... exposed 1/2" pex pipe patch... they asked $500 or more..... the technician did not have the coupling and told me it can cost as much as $1,000 / so i went to Home Depot and paid $ 9 / problem fixed in 10 minutes. Never will i call them again !!

I needed an undermount sink re-mounted and caulked. Online prices $200-$700. Which I still think is a lot for $5.00 caulk and possibly $200 labor to spend time removing old caulk and spreading a bead of caulk. Why $1500 John Moore? Not only that--service guy " let me check other stuff"--- $$$ Here's your quote for $8500. ---- Really?- I just wanted a professional to spend 30-45 minutes to remove old caulk, spread a bead of caulk around my kitchen sink to make it look nice. I expect $150-$200. AND to get $8500 quote for extras. (SMH) Then left without any service. Thanks for letting me know about other repairs needed two years down the road, but I just wanted what I called for. I am going to youtube (or call handyman ) and hope for best. Service people nice, but come on that price for simple service.

Price gouged my elderly parents (and handicapped father) day before the winter storm because their heater broke. They charged them $15,000 where other companies were thousands less. My parents panicked and signed to create a payment plan and were stuck.

Jeb did a great job addressing my electrical needs I including replacing outdated switches and installing new fixtures. I can finally see the light! He was professional, quick and provided good recommendations. I will use John Moore and Jeb for future needs.

OUT FOR SUCKERS! 3300 sqft home DOES NOT COST $60 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REWIRE! Especially when all my walls are already down for my remodel. I had two companies that are ONLY electrical contractors quote me $17k and 18k - seemed reasonable. Had John Moore come out as my 3rd and final option, and they quote me 3~4X as MUCH!? Technicians aren't technicians - they're salesman out for commission. Anything to get you to finance you to death. DON'T TRUST THEM!!!!!!

Great communication. Arrived on time. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Did a heater tune-up for us and replaced the air filter. In past services, we have gotten new plumbing and a/c unit. Definitely recomend!

My gas heater went out during the crazy freeze. John Moore had a tech at my house that afternoon. The tech was professional, knowledgeable, and outright gave me confidence in his work. I would recommend John Moore Services to anyone.

I was charged a $69.00 service call. I thought you didn't pay for the technician to come out and diagnose the situation. Pete said I needed a capacitor and 18 ducts cleaned. The price changed three times. He tried to make it seem like l was misunderstanding but I was writing down every price he quoted. I ended up paying $1,839. I know I was over charged. The technician was focused on pushing a membership down my throat. I have used John Moore in the past and have trusted their honesty. However, this was the first time I questioned their integrity. I wished I would have gotten a second opinion. Pete was nice and respectful but l know l was overcharged.

My experience with John Moore was very pleasant. I was able to easily schedule same day service and plumber Willie Johnson assisted me with a clogged bathtub drain. He was very professional and informative. He accurately assessed the issue quickly corrected the problem. I would definitely work with them again in future.

Update 6.30.2020: We recently had some issues and was quoted the service from a tech. It was a pricey job and proceeded with getting things fixed. A few days later we had the same issue and the original tech said it was not the same thing, we needed an AC tech. An AC tech came by and basically told us the original tech did not do all that he should have done. I was a bit upset because I have trusted this company many times before and the job was very expensive. The AC tech placed a call to his manager and proceeded in finishing the original tech's job. We have not see any leaks since then. I am grateful for the more honest, and experienced techs! Maybe the first guy was just not capable of doing what he quoted or he was just being lazy, either way I am happy with how they handled our situation.

We have always had good servicemen from John Moore. They don t just tell you NEED to do this just so you spend money, they are honest with us and give us advice on how to keep things maintained. I will continue to use again!

Our service guy, Aaron, was very professional. He approached our air conditioning problem methodically and offered smart options. We're happy with the solution and outcome. Great job!

Mr. Hamilou is a great technician. He explained well about our air conditioning problem, 18 vents needed to be sealed we also installed and air purifier which will kill bacteria, mold, viruses and strong smells in the house for example when cooking. He took pictures and showed them to us. I highly recommend John Moore.

So happy I called John Moore! The whole experience from start to finish was pleasant and professional. I was having issues with my heater and they came out and showed me the problem for free. My service agent Christopher English was friendly and very knowledgeable. I will definitely be calling them again in the future!!

Our plumber was knowledgeable and worked with us to help us fit the job within our budget. He did good work at a fabulous pace.

Used sticky traps without our knowledge. Some birds were stuck to it and they died slowly and horribly. Disgusting practice and they should feel ashamed they use them.
