John Rowland of John Moore Plumbing was professional, easy to talk to and work with. Very to the point, in a polite way, He determined what we needed, helped us with the financing department and we were set to get a new unit, with good terms and good price. The only disappointment, was the Reme Halo, was on back order for up to 6 weeks. He was kind enough to even say, he would give us a temporary alternative, until the Reme Halo arrived in stock. We have a handicapped daughter, so these are all critical things for us. My feeling is, he is a good man, representing his company well, for me that is where it all starts.
A/C went out, called John Moore for an estimate. They told me it was the compressor, that all my R22 coolant leaked out, and gave me some insane quotes:
1. 3000 dollars to replace the compressor and pump R22 back into the system.
2. 10,000 dollars to do all that and change the condenser and evaporator.
3. 12,000 dollars to replace everything.
I called another company out for a second opinion, and turns out everything was fine with the compressor, there was no leaks, so no need to get more R22, etc. It was a bad fan motor and the fan blade was after market and was the wrong size. It was 450 bucks and my A/C works perfectly.
I am very disappointed in this company. This is not up selling something, which I can understand, they didn't even tell me what the actual problem was. And the 3000 dollars wouldn't have even fixed the problem. It would have been flushing it down the drain.
This to me sounds a lot like fraud. Turns out they tried this with my girlfriends parents water heater 10 years ago, said they needed a new one. Turns out the pilot light went out and had to be relit... silly I know, but they didn't know any better. 10 years later their water heater still works fine.
I would not recommend this company to Anyone .
Very pleased with the service that Tilo provides. He is always courteous and advises when he is on our way to the house. Only issue I have is that the scheduling team does not give us a heads up to let us know what day our service is scheduled.

I live in Houston TX. Diagnosis: My AC blower motor and circuit went out. Prescribed fix: 1. Replace parts for $2800! way above the market range! The tech had no idea if parts were available and when the unit could be fixed. 2. Tech recommended I just replace the whole unit to not deal with future breakdowns. I said no to both options and Worked w a local guy who found out everything was still covered under warranty. W Shipping Fee & labor I paid $500. Don t trust these guys, they are just out to take your money.

John Moore Services provides excellent customer service and completes all jobs as promised. Our recent experience with one of their plumbers, Miguel was very positive. He communicated well and would text updates as needed. I am currently working from home and he would text if he needed to speak with me which allowed me to continue working while he was on sight. He properly wore his face mask. Satisfied in all respects and will use John Moore again for any of their services!!
First time using this company I am very disappointed about timeliness and communication. I have a plugged drain, and when the technician came yesterday around noon, he did not have the equipment with him to remove the plug. A second technician with the right tool should arrive later (4-6pm) with the right tool. After 4pm they called and said they could not make it, and rescheduled to 8-9am this morning, promising that this job would be the first job of the day for the technician. At 10am I called to check why they were late, and was informed that the technician was dispatched to another job. The technician just called, and had not been informed that he was meant to be here in the morning.
So here I am, still waiting at home when I should have been at work. I wonder how John Moore and company would feel if I had wasted their time the same way they are wasting mine at the moment.
On a positive note: The technician that actually arrived yesterday was punctual, polite and professional. The problem seems to be with how they organize, prioritize and dispatch technicians from the office.
Update: The technician arrived and the problem is fixed. I have updated my one-star rating to reflect that the technicians did a five-star job (professional, thorough, friendly and polite), but the unnecessary waiting still leaves me with the general impression of a two-star experience.
We have been dealing with John Moore for several years and never disappointed. Quality people and service. Jorge and his crew provided a excellent job of installing our upstairs HVAC system. Throughout the day and at the end of the day everything was kept and left clean and tidy. Look forward to having him on our any future service or issue.

I had the best of diagnosis and repair experiences with John Moore, and their technician Donny. I'd already been through two other technician visits from another company who both were unable to diagnose then fix the problem. The problem was intermittent. Donny and John Moore went the extra mile to find the root of the AC problem, instead of just throwing more parts at it, doing the the bare minimum, crossing their fingers and driving off. They made sure things were resolved and fixed properly.
Great customer service and installed on time as promised.

Why would you put "potential savings" in the same column as amount due. I never heard $469.99 because if I did I would have declined. I just lost my job due to reduction in work force so I am watching every penny. I budgeted 80-100 bucks for the job.

I called John Moore hoping to get an honest quote on getting my A/C back up and running. Dude tried to put me in the hole 12 thousand dollars. Started telling me that the unit and a number of other things needed to be replaced. I knew better! I call a friend of mine whose brother repairs A/C for a living and he said why u call "John Whore" lol. And he got my A/C back running for 165 bucks. Smh!
The tech came out after the original company failed to show up. The tech from John Moore was professional, on time, and communicated well. He worked late and actually had to leave and come back for the part needed. The tech showed us the issue and explained well what was going on and got our heater going again and it no longer makes that horrible sound when it turns on. I'm definitely satisfied with the service provided.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this company was to work with. We had an issue with our AC freezing up. They spent several hours trying to find the problem. After being unable to find the issue in their first visit, they scheduled a field supervisor to come within a few days which was no extra charge to us. They were able to find the problem and offer a quick and affordable fix! Not only that, but they were incredibly professional and courteous of our home. They went out of their way to help us find a solution.

Called them out for a clogged A/C drain line. The guy was here 20 minutes and charged me $350 to clean it out!!!! He then said the line was dirty and he would have the HVAC guy come out and check my system and give me estimates for any repairs need. 5 minutes after he left the office was calling me telling me a tech would be coming out and that they offered financing would I be interested in that? Ummmm, financing for what ? The HVAC tech hadn't even come out yet so I knew when he put the carriage before the horse They were going to recommend a new system whether I really need one or not. Sure enough new system needed at $24-$34,000!!! All I had was a clogged drain line and A/c is working! Why would i replace a working system and for that amount?Crazy!

I had scheduled John Moore for an a/c tune up back in June and an HVAC dripping pipe. Their $69 special turned into $1100, because they found an issue with the A/C unit itself. After 3 repairs visits and a rude technician, the unit (I can assume) was fixed. But the dripping HVAC drainage pipe still leaked. Today, I called another HVAC guy, and they fixed the leaking pipe (misdiagnosed by John Moore) fot $127.
John Moore Service did an exceptional job with my tub and kitchen sink work. They provided next day service and have very reasonable prices. Technician was extremely professional and informed me on everything that needed to be done upfront at no cost. Then, performed the job cleanly and in a timely manner. I highly recommend John Moore Services to anyone in need.

Not much he could do in my case. It seems to be a lot to unclog the drain that ties to the gutters in the front.

The work performed by John Moore Services exceeded my expectations. Due to water damage, I needed an interior wall repaired. This included ceiling a small amount of the foundation, replacing rotted wood and replacement of dry-wall. All work was completed on-time and on-budget with excellent quality. And, John Moore Services made it very quick & easy to get an estimate and to schedule the job.
I've called John Moore a couple of time for various services but this last experience with a hot water heater was the end for me. Instead of fixing the gas control valve as was needed the John Moore plummer spent all of his time trying to sell me a hole new hot water heater for a 4 year old tank. I ended up finding a reputable company "The Hot Water Guys" and they fixed what I needed for $165 and reaffirmed that my tank was just fine. John Moore wanted me spend $3K on a new tank. And the guy basically told me that they were short on plumbers because guys weren't making there numbers and John Moore holds them to a quota. Service is not their priority its sales first which means they can't be trusted.
Very pleased with the service. Anthony was very nice and professional. He used shoe covers when entering the house. Also had on mask. Explained the steps involved in unclogging. Good job.

***UPDATE from yesterday Oct 26th: a technician calls and says hi I'm xxx from JM....I'm about 30 minutes away. I'm said excuse me? He said he needed to come test the gas pressure and lock the gas line? I'm so frustrated at this point it all sounds like Charlie Brown talking to the adults. I told him no, you can come when the inspector comes. Of they forgot to do something from 2 months ago and want to come at a raNdom time to cover thier butts well sorry not on my dime! Unless you want to reimburse me the $500 for the permit....three techs and a quality control person came out here originally and not one noticed they didn't complete the job.
Update October 25th: I just got a call from John moore asking if they can have the city of houston come inspect thier work they did. I asked why wasn't this done 2 months ago and she said she just found it in the paperwork....they charged us 500 for a permit they forgot to have inspected, and great John Moore experience! Now I have to take time off because they aren't organized or can't do work properly!
We had an issue with our tankless we need it to be repaired. They gave us three options...of course ranging from $10k (new system) to a mid level repair to $3k (get us back in service with our existing tankless. I asked how soon can we get it done...they said immediately and scheduled us for service within 3 days.
Day of service....they didn't have any of the parts needed....WTH. They said one piece was discontinued and the replacement part was discontinued. My boyfriend had to look up and provide them with the part number...should have known then this was not a good sign. That day was a waste. I had to arrange to work from home that day for the tech to advise they didn't have the parts.
They advised the system as installed incorrectly and here are the corrections that were needed. We paid the $3k. Re-scheduled to get the repairs made. System still giving us errors. Called the first "master plumber" his response. Call and get a technician sent oit. They sent out another guy and he tells us we need to replace our faucet? For an error that says gas line interruption? They replaced part of the gas line.
They sent the "quality" guy out and he looked over the stuff and said what they did was correct...however what they recommended didn't fix our problem. He also said they didn't install it so they didn't want to touch it....so in the end if THEY don't install thier own systems they won't fix it...so $3k later we still have issues. Oh the quality guy said he would call back monday and we didn't hear anything....now we are reaching out to another repair company...someone who will touch our system!
I had my home repiped because of rusty corroded pipes. The workmen were hard working and professional. I m very pleased with the workmanship.
The fan went out in the ac. It was replaced, but the ac would consistently run. They told us the control panel was broken and they would follow up to replace it. No follow up! Three weeks later the ac begin to blow hot air. Another guy came out and did some type of cleaning. It cooled down but still ran all day. Called someone else to take a look at it, only to find out John Moore wired the fan wrong and that's why it would consistently run. Spent a total of $450 for them to do a jacked up job! Save your money!
After fiddling around with ancient kitchen sink piping for a whole day, I threw in the towel and called John Moore. They were able to send someone out the next day (on a Saturday). The plumber, Russel H., was friendly and efficient. He was in and out in under an hour, and the cost of service was reasonable.

Honestly this has been by far the worst experience I have encountered. Me and my husband after reviewing a couple of companies decided to go with John Moore.They ran my credit told me they found me a financing company to which I had first informed them that I was looking for their 6 or 12 month no apr or payments and said they would email me the paper work a few weeks went by and I never received the paperwork. During those weeks I called to ask about the paperwork and still I never received them. The gentleman came to do the work still me having no paperwork and now almost a whole month later finally got the paper work to see that the finance company which they put me through is charging through the roof of interest. The gentleman of financing calls me now to tell me about me not signing the paperwork so I brought it up to him that that was not the financing I had expected to which he said that he told me and his solution was either me paying in full or if I did not want to pay he would just send me to collections. Honestly I am appalled at how rude and unprofessional he was. I have called to place a complaint and have yet to receive a call back. Never again doing business with them !!! & honestly I suggest you to not either. They are not worth all the money they charge just to get disgusting SERVICE!!!

i had a A/C tuneup done on 5/6/18 and the tech also did a leak test told me i needed to replace the condenser coil and it need at least 2 pounds of freon, which is a big expensive job.
So i called another A/C company for a 2nd opinion. Come to find out my A/C was just fine they couldnt find anything wrong with either unit, and they did a leak test, no leaks and didnt even need any freon

The plumbing technician, Derrik M., who came out was extremely nice, courteous and professional.
He took his time to explain the issue and treatment plan and even gave us some privacy to discuss how we wanted to proceed.
He completed the work and walked is through it all even giving us a few tips and called in a referral to ensure all aspects of our a/c unit was looked at.
Unfortunately, the technician after him wasn't as pleasant but just as professional.
We do have a 30 day guarantee but so far so good and if we do have an issue I'd definitely request the first technician, Derrick M.

This group installed UV lights in my AC unit and replaced a section of duct work that had been installed incorrectly. Would not use for any significant plumbing problems. Had a sewer line constantly backing up under the building. John Moore stuck a camera down the line and found a dip in it. Solution was to replumb out to the main sewer line (black water into a grey water sewer?). Estimate was about 30K. Had another plumber come out and for a small fraction of the estimate, crawl under the building and rehang the 4" sewer line, removing the dip. The original hangars had broken.
I am satisfied with the service result, but I am confused with what we discovered. My kitchen faucet was clogged and the water would not go down. After running with a cable and a camera, we did not find any thing that blocked the pipe. Kevin flashed with lots of water and it run OK. After a month, I still run into clog situation several times. Each time after waiting a while, the water was clear. Is it caused by the air lock? Please advise.
Will was on time, polite, and took the time to explain everything to us. He gave us several options and gave us the cost of each. We decided which system we wanted and he immediately called to get us a senior discount and financing. We will keep his card and call him if we ever need any more work done. We will not hesitate to give his information to our friends who need these services.
John Moore professional investigated my circuit breakers. David was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. He made sure I understood the problem and the resolution. Gave me several options for repair. I was more than satisfied with his service.
Our AC went out in the middle of the night and the next day we contacted our home warranty provider to find out that we were forced to use Lone Star repair to fix our AC. After several unfavorable reviews I read regarding Lone Star I decided to call John Moore instead.

We just had a gentleman named Sky out to clean our ac coil and replace the capacitor. He was well spoken and polite, and explained what he d be doing. He showed us before and after photos so we could see the difference. We were impressed.

The service was poor and I have yet to receive proper documentation as to the work done for the tune up and inspection, even after requesting it several times since the service was completed. The guy was interested in selling me a new unit. They had no problem accepting my money. The customer service department was also not helpful either.
