DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I BOUGHT A CAR AND 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT IT THE BUMPER STARTED FALLING OFF. I TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THEY ACCUSED ME OF DOING IT. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO A COLLISON REPAIR CENTER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL OPINION THEY SAID THE CAR HAD BEEN HIT IN THE FRONT, THE BUMPER REPAIRED AND REPAINTED. THE COLLISON CENTER CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND GAVE THEIR FINDING AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY ALSO. THIS PLACE EMPLOYEES VERY RUDE PEOPLE WHO DOESNT CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER. THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED WITH MONEY. I HAVE BEEN FALSELY ACCUSED AND DISCRIMINATED AGAINST JUST SO THEY CAN SAVE A BUCK IN THEIR POCKET NOT HAVE TO FIX ANYTHING. SAVE YOURSELF A TRIP.......SNAKES IN THE GRASS...........ONCE THEY GET THAT COMISSION IN THEIR POCKET YOUR THROUGH... WARRANTY OR NOT.....

My first time needing to use Hyundai's roadside assistance worked out as well as could be expected. The car just stopped being able to accelerate while driving on Georgia's I-85. My car was towed late on a Sunday night to the dealer in Athens, Georgia. Despite a full service load, Hyundai of Athens was able to get to my car within 2 days, fixed it with a part under warranty (actually, under recall), tested and had available for pickup. And, to further make it easy on me, passed the keys to the sales desk enabling me to pick up the car after service hours. Having your car break down on the side of an unfamiliar highway is never a good thing, but Hyundai Roadside Assistance and Hyundai of Athens made it as painless as possible. Thanks to you all!

I drove from Atlanta to get a car set at a great price. They were very busy, but still managed to assist me quickly. Checked out just the one car, was not given the run around with a bunch of superfluous fees or pressured to test more expensive cars, buy the extended warranties, etc. I encountered at other dealerships.

I made a change to my financing after signing that complicated some things, but Terry and Otis were very patient and professional in helping me get it sorted out. Overall, a very professional and relaxed experience. I would recommend making the drive from out of town if something in their inventory interests you. Thanks!

I believe I got the best deal possible when u bought a brand new Hyundai Elantra! I downsized my car because that s all I need at this time in my life! But I didn t sacrifice quality and safety!
My salesperson was amazing and she and I became good friends! She and her supervisor gave me everything I wanted and I m very grateful! I give them the highest ratings and making sure I refer everyone to them!

The first experience of buying a car from a dealership where I did not feel like I was being treated like a number coming in the door but I was treated like a person a person who they where yes trying to make a deal but make a deal with my best interest in mind. I hate going car shopping but if I do it again, and live anywhere close I will be back there. The team that worked with me actually made me have a fun day from talking about art to music and yes I got the car I wanted to top it off.

Six years ago, the new Sonnata I bought was the first car, motorcycle or lawnmower that wasn't a Honda. Today, I personally know their 100k mi / 10 year warranty is no joke as they performed a very expensive repair and covered it. I'm happy and very impressed. Thank you Hyundai of Athens.

Was nervous about past reviews, but when I heard the dealership received entirely new personnel and management over the few months..we gave them a chance. I m SOO glad we did! Don t be scared of reviews before now! We loved everyone we dealt with an can t wait to come back to continue our relationship by having our vehicles serviced! Be sure to ask for Kaitlyn!

Drove 50 mins to get oil/inspection service using $29 coupon I received in the mail.

However, after service was completed, my bill came to $42 (minus key battery which I purchased)! I was told that there were approx $10 in additional fees plus taxes. This is absurd! If the service is $39, then that's what the coupon should state. Adding small print that says may be additional fees is misleading and is the classic bait & switch marketing strategy!

I've owned my Genesis for 6 yrs. have always gone to Jim Ellis Hyundai for service and have NEVER had a problem with coupons or price baiting! I recently moved to Snellville, so I thought I'd try your Athens location b/c of the coupon. This will never happen again as I will not be returning for service at your location.

I received an advertisement to vistit the dealership. Though I was not approved for a new car, the staff Aviance and the sales manager Chris Miller got me in a Chevy Cruze. A week later I was asked to come to the dealership to sign a few documents. Miller said, "It will only take 10-15 mins" I got there at 1pm and was immediately asked for the keys to be returned. As it turns out, I was never approved for the car loan. They let me and my children leave the dealership in a car that I didn't own and then after I got rid of my old car, took the Cruze back. Now I have no car and I sat there for 6.5 hours before they finally told me I was not approved. Nice!

Apparently, all files were lost during owner transfer and not carrying sales, service and other contracts in vehicle or on person, could not prove service contract at the time. Had service numerous times before, but, this time, no can do. Travel 82 miles for this contract service just to be denied service. What good does computers do if files are not transferred from owner to owner.

Brought my car up there cause something was wrong with it and had all the codes ran and got told it just needed spark plugs and was charged $152 after tax to be told all it needed was spark plugs. They wanted $28 a plug and $100 to put them in. So I went to the part store and got the OM plugs and put them in and it did not fix the problem and the car doesn t need coils packs I was told by a service tech all it needed was spark plugs

Disappointing service department is all I can say....

Disappointing service department is all I can say. Multiple times over. The two things this dealer is consistent at are changing mangement/ownership and finding ways to make service visits confusing and frustrating as heck.

I finally hit my breaking point and decided to review them after this last visit (literally what will absolutely be my LAST visit). I go in for a simple 15k mile service on my 2017 Elantra. I'm immediately being sold a service package from a pre-made list by Ed McManus. So, of course, there's a couple of things on that list that aren't really necessary (i.e. cabin air filter), but I figure, what the heck. Go ahead and do it, let's see what difference it makes. The package is $129. I ask what happens if I don't need the included engine or cabin air filter, etc, and am told those will be deducted from the price. Fine, no big deal. About 20 minutes later, Ed informs me that the alignment is out and they recommend performing that service which will remove the tire rotation from my package. I decline as I have someone else to handle that sort of work and let him know I will deal with the alignment and rotation elsewhere. So, taking out the tire rotation, I should come out to about $109. When I finally see the car pulled back around and finished (a full hour and a half later), I walk out to the service area where Ed is frantically "crunching numbers," trying to determine my total. I'm thinking to myself, "How is this so difficult?" Well, I guess the difficulty comes in with how can they find a way to still get their money? Sure enough, Ed hands me a service ticket with a total of $136. Somehow, we started at $129, took $20 off and still came out to more than the initial package price. I ask Ed to explain a few things, to which his response tells me that he's not really sure how he got the figures he did. There are some random supply and labor fees (never seen these charged outside of the price of an oil change) and there's even an added $12 fee for "treating" the cabin air filter with some sort of deodorizer. READ: We febreezed your air filter and charged you the price of four BOTTLES of febreeze. Nevermind that this "service" was never discussed prior. Essentially what they did was an oil change, air filter replacement and cabin air filter replacement which would have totaled less than $100 if done as separate services. They also do not accept coupons if they are not printed out and physically presented. No coupons from your phone, something no other dealer I've worked with has had an issue with. I didn't have time to argue about it, so I let it be.
Ironically, he then asked for a five star review. Yeah, uh, no. A day later, I get a text asking for a review. It says to text them back with any questions, so I ask them about all of this. No one responds. So here's their review.

This is in addition to a bottle of touch-up paint taking three MONTHS to receive because the dealership changed hands (apparently twice) from the day I ordered it and the order got lost in the shuffle(s).

And then there's the fact that I ended up driving to Warner Robins to buy my Elantra because, after giving Hyundai of Athens a chance to compete for my business, the best their sales guy could offer was "Do you HAVE to have the Ultimate package?" Well yeah, I'm getting that for this price. Why would I remove it to get to the price the other dealer is already at on a better equipped vehicle? Of course, it changed management again after that, which shouldn't be surprising.

Bottom line: Just go elsewhere. This place is a waste of time and will eventually find a way to help you waste your money, too.

My experience wasn t that great. My first trip to Hyundai of Athens, I went to purchase a Hyundai Tucson. After 3 trips to Athens (45 minuets away from me) because I m not a rash decision maker, I decided to make the purchase and told them I d be there Saturday morning to get it. They text me on Friday night letting me know it had just been sold. They sold the vehicle I made multiple trips to look at, test drive and talk numbers about, OUT FROM UNDER ME. I was not happy to say the least. A few weeks later, I returned because they had another vehicle I seen online I liked. This was a Kia Sportage. To make a long story short, my buying process went a little better with the Kia. They didn t sell it out of under me so that s a plus. I m happy with my purchase I m just not happy with the way I got treated my first time going out there to get the Hyundai.

Will, Jessie, and Keisha provided EXCEPTIONAL customer service in just directing my vehicle and helping to rescue my kitten.

Although it was out of their job scope, I respect this place even more now! Can t wait to get my services for bronze in a few weeks with these guys!

I will recommend this place time and time again! I came in back in March because I saw a Jeep on their website and I HAD to have it. I reached out to Makayla (on a Sunday), and I was able to come in the next day! She got me in it for a test drive and I traded in my Ford Fusion and took home the Jeep the same day! Makayla is FANTASTIC! And hands down one of the best sales person I ve ever dealt with. She doesn t pressure you, but she wants you to get the best deal and the car of your dreams! The next car I buy, I ll be coming back to do business with her! Extremely professional! Thank you Makayla, my Jeep is still doing GREAT!

Truly enjoyed the experience of pulling into the showroom like service bay, greeted by a friendly clerk who took our info and led us to the waiting area. And the time passed relatively quickly as we waited for some routine maintenance was accomplished. The only disappointment was that the free car wash - made the car look like it had been hurried, and the interior cleaning was equally vague. Otherwise it looked and felt like a professional experience.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Came here for them to fix one problem, left with 3 whole new issues aside from what i originally needed fixed. First day i brought it in, said they couldn t figure out what was wrong, ended up having to leave my car overnight. Came the next day to pick it up only to discover another issue as i was leaving so turned straight around and brought it back within 2 minutes. They fixed it only for me to realize after i had gotten home that my lights weren t working (it was still day time when i left the dealership so i didn t know at the time. Discovered the problem as i had an emergency that same night so that only added to my stress). Long story short, they screwed my car up even more than it already was to begin with and still had to audacity to tell me it was gonna cost over a grand to completely fix the small issue i had brought it in for and after they had made it 10X worse! Just don t waste your time at this Hyundai.

The people were very nice, but when I arrived they had my name and appointment time, that I had confirmed on the phone two days prior, completely wrong. It then took 2.5 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. The prices were also outrageously high. The oil change and tire rotation was almost $70, and they tried to charge $70 for a cabin filter and $30 for an engine filter!! Filters do not cost that much, replace them yourself!

Had to turn in my car after having it 2 weeks because financing fell through. Apparently working through a temp service is not considered a job with the finance company. To be fair Hyundai of Athens tried to reapply for me and refunded my down payment which I don't believe they had to do. On the negative side they acted like I had previously lied on my credit app when I plainly told them the service I worked for and provided the last 4 weeks of paycheck stubs. Just a word to the wise, make sure your financing is solid before taking home your car. Also, make sure you have plenty of time because it is a slow drawn out process that took all afternoon and evening both times.

I just don t ever have a completely satisfied experience here. My car had a couple of campaigns they said they completed (including the airbag/seatbelt). Days later, I found out it was not done even though they had me sign papers stating that it had. Such a pain.

This is now the second Hyundai Dealership that I have dealt with and had a bad experience. I dropped my car off to get oil changed and my airbag light kept popping up. Given, I have just purchased this vehicle about a month ago from the Lithonia Hyundai Dealership (which they were by far worse). Come to find out I needed to drop my car off to be worked on to replace the airbag. Luckily I had a backup vehicle at the time so I was able to leave it. Two days later I was informed my car was ready for pick up and good to go! When I got to my vehicle the airbag light was still on as if nothing had been fixed. The next day I got a call from the parts department at Hyundai informing me that my part for the airbag had arrived. I then realized no one actually worked on my vehicle. When I brought it to Hyundai s attention I was told several times that the service Manager Mike would be contacting me to settle this. Never heard from him. In fact, no one ever reached out to me to explain nor apologize for what happened. I had to call and I had to inform them they screwed up. All in all, it took over 2 weeks to get my car fixed when it should ve only taken 2 days. The communication is poor as well as work ethic from the service department. Now I m scared to go to yet again another Hyundai Dealership. Thought they were suppose to be the best?! Definitely don t recommend.

I called yesterday to have Hyundai take a look at an issue I was having with my steering wheel. They immediately made an appointment for that morning and were able to see me promptly and also able to repair the issue for a minimal cost. They also noted that my back brakes needed to be fixed. I had this done too. The attitude was helpful and friendly and I appreciate this very much.

I had a great time working with Hyundai of Athens to get my new car. Ale was a great salesperson and was very helpful with finding the right car for me. I was very happy to be treated with respect even though I'm only 18. They were also able to explain any questions I had and to help in any way. I hope that when I go back for any servicing that my experiences will be just as good.

People were very nice and weren't like the typical car salesmen. They understand real life situations and got me a really good deal for a new 2020 with a 10 year warranty. They even delivered out here to Atlanta. This dealership is a lot cheaper than the Hyundai dealerships in Atlanta/Gwinnett. Would have given 5 stars but there was no traffic and the guy got here almost an hour late. I hadn't had a car in 3 years and worked really hard for it so I expected him to be here at 5:30 on the dot, but still good people. Use them instead of dealerships in the city they also work with worse credit too. I have a 560. Thanks guys!!

This is tricky.... as the customer service has been excellent. My sales guy and the finance team were friendly and supportive.

Here is where I have an issue. I was told I was purchasing a new vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0. When I arrived to close, I was told that the vehicle had actually been a loaner to a customer and hence the 3000 miles.

Within one week of driving the vehicle off the lot, I had multiple sensors come on the vehicle, including hepatic steering, and a couple of other messages. In addition, the back seat pullout had cigars that had been crushed and spilled all throughout the seats. Furthermore, the left driver side feels off alignment at various points. Finally, when opening the front console for storage, there was a large sticky goo right in the middle of the panel. These issues are simply not what you expect from a top of the line Hyundai model where the customer is committing to large payments.

To give you a contrast, when I purchased my 2012 mercedes c300 used with 7500 miles (traded in for the Genesis), I never had a single issue with the vehicle in 70000 miles. The car and information were transparent, no last second information changes, and the car was immaculately cleaned and inspected before I walked out the door.

Now... I am not one to complain. I am a very calm and even guy and I know this team will assist in fixing. But reviews need to be honest.

You cannot sell a customer a new car, no matter how good the deal or how good the customer service and friendliness, and have these types of issues within a week. It is really upsetting to have to bring a brand new car into the dealership within a week.

I do not write this to scare anyone away. I simply hope that the management will understand the frustration with these issues, particularly when you are told last second it was a loaner car for 3000 miles but it is sold as new.

Brought my 2016 hyundia elantra July 2015 had a bad experience so to make it right they offered me free full synthetic oil changes for 1 year from date of purchase so been going there since with no problem.so I go today to get my oil changed so I drop off my car and I wait it's done 45 minutes later get the bill and there is synthetic blend in the car my car has always had used full synthetic oil in my car so my point being is if you have service records on a car why would you use a synthetic blend when evething is there in the computer and not look at the history of the car or simple come and ask me instead of putting what u want in my car.

I had a good experience with the service department personal . But the only thing is the last two times I ve had my oil changed I ve had large old oil spots in my garage and driveway which was spilled in the base pan and didn t get cleaned out. That s the only fustration I have with the service . It really ruins the drive and garage.!

Had made appt. That the internet app did not take. I drove in on time I was supposed to have appt. They had 4 cars waiting. They got my car in for the service I needed and I had added a transmission service added to that. I was about2.5 hours. I settled in for a wait. Not only did the service cost less than expected they got it done 1.5 hours. Great job!!

A warm, welcoming, and positive experience. Shopping for a vehicle after a traumatic accident can be daunting. After spending hours online looking at cars I decided to take a visit to Hyundai of Athens with my family. We were immediately welcomed in by David. David was patient and listened to what I was looking for and helped us identify a viable option. The space is very family friendly and the staff are kind and patient. I highly recommend working with David and his team.

Worst dealership I have ever dealt with in my 50+ years. I currently own a Hyundai, Honda and Toyota. While pleased with the service at Honda and Toyota, the customer service I received at Hyundai is beyond unprofessional. Tried to sell me services I did not need (i.e. a coolant flush recommended at 90,000 miles even though my car has only 47,000 miles). They failed to honor coupons mailed to me by the dealership (which they said they would) and never followed through on their promises to make things right. They pride themselves on being under "new ownership." The philosophy of this new owner is to try and squeeze every penny it can out of their customers at the expense of trying to build long-time loyal customers. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE.

We dropped our car off for service. It took 1.5 weeks to have it worked on (although it was supposed to be 2-3 days). We were told we would get a rental car covered by Hyundai for the originally quoted 2-3 days it would require. They never provided a rental car as promised. Nor did they call us with updates like they promised. I had to call them to find out what was going on. The only plus was that everything was free because we had an extended warranty from Hyundai to cover the problem parts. I love Hyundai and have owned 3 Hyundai vehicles. The service department here is not the best and unfortunately they're the only dealer in the area. In the end, if you get the chance, use Hyundai but consider going somewhere else if you want great customer service.
