My mom made an appointment to have her sun visor replaced in her car and when she got there the morning of the appointment, she was made to sit and wait for 3 hours, before being notified that the part was never even ordered.. she didn't have to go back the next day to have the car serviced, the day before she was told that she would be given a discount for having waited for three hours and not told the depart had not even been ordered, yet the next day when she went back to get the work done no discount was give it to her. So basically, we are extremely disappointed with Hyundai and we'll never take a vehicle there again to be serviced.

Purchased our vehicle from her 3 years ago. Love our vehicle but the service center is not the best. We call constantly when we are trying to get our appointment for oil changes and the phone will ring for 15 minutes before someone picks up. This is not just one time. It s every other month when we get our oil changed. Will be getting our oil changed somewhere else once our warranty is up.

A note before I begin - this review is solely abou...

A note before I begin - this review is solely about the Service department, we had no dealings with sales. I hate to give bad reviews, but I feel like others need to be warned if they can possibly avoid this service department. I wish zero stars was an option, that would be more accurate. Our Sante Fe broke down with engine problems on Mother's day this year, which was bad enough, but the real nightmare started when we took it to Greenway on 5/11. It turns out the engine had to be replaced. We JUST got our vehicle back yesterday, 8/6. Communication with the service department is awful. We had to initiate communication with them on almost every occasion because they would not call us with any updates, and whenever they said they would call us back with an update, 9 out of 10 times we never heard back. If we did get calls, half of them were for the wrong car (once they called and told us that our warranty claim had been denied and we'd be responsible for the total cost, which was wrong, and a message for another customer). We never once got any kind of apology for the delays, no sense that they understood the hardship of being down a vehicle, nothing. On top of that, when we picked it up, the battery was dead. They jumped it but didn't offer charge it, and now we are having to replace the battery (this is a car we bought CPO in Feb 2018). They couldn't even be bothered to remove the dirty floor cover before returning it to us. We would have been much better off towing our car the 50 miles back to our dealership in Atlanta for the work (which would have cost a good bit but in hindsight, would have been well worth it). I hope no one else has to deal with problems like this at Greenway!

These guys are AWESOME!! We went to look at a used truck and ended up buying 2 cars! Sales and financial departments were awesome did a fantastic job of getting our payments were we needed them to be. Would definitely recommend this dealership.

My car broke down outside of Athens on New Years Day.. was towed to Hyundai of Athens. I called dealership next morning at 7:30 am explained the issue and they had my vehicle fixed and I was back on the road by 12. Fast friendly warranty service!

Service desk worked with me patiently until we found exactly what was in my budget just before the holidays. Hats off to the service team for their good service and friendly demeanors.

Trust me after my last 2 service visits with appointments including this
past Saturday, the last thing you want is my posted review. I emailed you
after my previous poor experience and never heard back. Obviously service
is not important to the Athens Hyuandai dealership. Both of these visits
that I made early morning appointments for tool 1.5+ hours for an oil
change and rotation. What purpose is there to making an appointment. I can
obviously just show up and sit there as long as people with appointments. I
wanted to give my business to the dealer that sold me the car, but I don't
believe that they care about the customer after the sale is made. I live
half way between Athens and Gwinnett. I will start taking my car to
Gwinnett.

An estimated 45 minute software update took more t...

An estimated 45 minute software update took more than 2 hours. The computer crashed, which I understand. Where I fault the service department is in communications. At the 2 hour mark, I had to initiate an inquiry with Jesse to determine the status. He had to check to see what the statis was. At 1 hour (15 minutes after the estimated completion) , he should have proactively checked the sataus and updated me. The take-away lesson is, keep after them if your service is well beyond the estimated time. Don t depend on them to keep you informed.

This was the first time I have used this location. I used to go to the Duluth location, but due to moving the Athens one is closer. The process was quick and easy. Only waited an hour, which trust me is not bad! They gave me some details on what would be due for my next visit and I was on my way! They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Went there for a test drive with my gf during the $40 promotion gift card but never got the gift card. Gf tried to call but was told that they're in process and will take 8 weeks to arrive via mail which doesn't make any sense because heard other friends got it instantly at other Hyundai. If they can't honor such a simple $40 promise, I don't want to bet buying a car with them. Definitely not recommended!

I took my wife's 2012 Santa Fe in for routine serv...

I took my wife's 2012 Santa Fe in for routine service and was registered by Russ Oliveri. In performing the oil change, it was discovered that the drain plug was difficult to remove so the service was halted because it appeared that the plug had been misthreaded by the previous service person, (not Hyundai of Athens). Russ was fantastic in describing to me the issue and suggesting possible remedy scenarios. It was divided to not remove the plug for fear it may not be able to be reinserted, or, worse, damage the oil pan and have to replace it at $189.00. I told them that I would take the issue up with the former dealership as that is where the burden should lie. I subsequently took the vehicle to the former dealership and they resolved the issue. I commend the personnel at HOA for guiding me through this and securing my trust. I will be doing ALL my Hyundai service with them in the future.

2016 Sonata: This review applies to my Sonata not the dealership. What I don't like about my Sonata: (a) The air conditioning system does not hold a constant temperature. The cabin temperature is always either too cold or too hot. Never at a comfortable constant temperature. (b) No manual down shift of gears to slow down the speed of my car when I'm driving down a mountain. Even when I'm using cruse control mode the car still picks up speed when descending a hill or mountain. The breaks must be applied to reduce the speed which cancels out my cruse control, not to mention the excessive wear on my break pads. (c) The cruse control does not maintain a constant speed when driving over mountainous roads. Driving down hills the car speeds up to a dangerous speed. When driving up hills the car slows down until the cruse control eventually down shifts to a lower gear. (d) The owner's manual is written in general terms. It is not specific enough to trouble shoot a problem. At the end of a general description there is usually a statement directing the owner to take the car to a Hyundai dealership for service or repair. I like to do as much as I can on my own to keep my car in a good mechanical working order. I don't need an owners manual to tell me take my vehicle to a Hyundai dealership if I suspect something is wrong. What is the purpose of an owners manual? I thought it was to teach the car's owner how to trouble shoot mechanical problems before deciding if he needs a mechanic. (e) The Sonata's entertainment system is difficult to figure out. The owners manual does a poor job of explaining the options and features of the entertainment system.

Don't bother to call Hyundai's customer support. If you call you will get a menu of options to choose from. Then you will be placed in a call queue for a long time. Once a person takes your call he/she can't give you an immediate answer. You will again be placed on hold while the service representative speaks to a automotive technician. Next you may get an answer that you can use, but probably not.

What I like about my Hyundai Sonata: (a) The gas mileage is comparable to a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. (b) The engine and power train is holding up well. (c) The Sonata is reliable. After I put one hundred thousand miles on my Sonata I will be a better judge of its reliability.

I recently needed new tires for my Santa Fe. I had shopped around and found the best price for the tires and alignment at Hyundai of Athens. Brian, the service manager, was AWESOME in making the entire experience easy. They placed the tires and aligned my wheels and before I left they HAND washed my car - wow!!
My only complaint was the music in the waiting area - I found the need to wear ear plugs to drown it out.
I purchased my car at Hyundai Mall of Georgia and had been getting all my service done there - but after this experience I will be making Hyundai of Athens my new service home.

I just am in disbelief. The first time I came in a...

I just am in disbelief. The first time I came in after buying my car I got an oil change and the cabin air filter changed and they broke the cover off the cabin air filter and left it sitting on the floor of my car. The second time I come in to get an oil change and a tire rotation and they break the cover off of the outlet in the center console of my car and try to blame it on me. Then yesterday after dropping off my car for 60,000 mile service (oil change, transmission fluid, tire rotation) and telling them three times when I came to drop off my car at 9 AM on 9/7/19 that I am overdue for getting my break fluid changed and need to get done as well, I noticed the noise still in my breaks and called them today at 730 AM when they were supposed to open to find out if it was done, left a voicemail which was never answered and after calling multiple times with no answer, I gave it one more shot at ~630 and someone in service finally answered able to let me know about the service on my car, and they once again dropped the ball and didn t change the break fluid on my car, even though like I mentioned I asked for it to be done three times upon my arrival to the dealership yesterday. This place is so incompetent, I constantly question the purpose to go to the dealership to have any work done. Overpriced and unreliable.

Initially, I gave this place a 5 start rating. One year later, that changed, after requesting a trade in value. I come to find out that my NEW Hyundai Elantra had been involved in a car accident (rear ended) prior to purchasing the brand new vehicle. The CarFax report displayed the accident occurred in October of 2018 and I purchased it in January of 2019. I was given the price of brand new vehicle without knowing this had occurred! This information is to be disclosed to a brand new car buyer. Poor business practice in my opinion. Absolutely disgraceful coming from a dealership.

They tried to make me pay $700.00 for a new bumber! I argued with them and they finally paid for it! Id never recommend this place to anyone.....

The staff at Hyundai of Athens was very professional, easy to work with and made me feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a quality vehicle.

After failing to find a good deal at three other dealerships, I stopped in and took a look at several car options and price ranges. The experience was fun, and easy. Excellent service and friendly staff. We must have looked at just about every combination of payment option, down payment, and car. Purchased at 2016 Veloster Rally edition from here. My wife has purchased 2 vehicles here, received good service. I have my car serviced here and the staff is very helpful. They let me know what's going on, go the extra step to find a solution for any issue I have and overall its a good experience.

The facilities are nice and comfortable. Free coffee and sometimes cookies (nice). Thanks.

So, this experience was a bit of a mixed bag. When I first went in here wanting to look at a particular used car, they were friendly, persistent, but not necessarily pushy. They did seem eager to deal, but I wanted to look at a few other vehicles first. I called them back a few hours later and suddenly they didn't want to deal anymore. Until, that is, I told them that I had secured financing through my credit union. Then all of a sudden, they wanted to deal again. Then I gave them the opportunity to beat my rate and they came back with an offer half a percent lower than mine. When I told them I'd go with my credit union instead, then all of a sudden they were able to get me a lower rate. Struck me quite odd. Seems to me, if a lower rate was obtainable, they should have led with that...
Anyway, I got and like the car!

** Forgot to mention, the car was completely on empty on delivery (although I did run into our sales guy William at the gas station and he did put $15 in the tank when I told him) and the detail guy needs to be fired. The roof of my car was filthy! Was never touched! Sales guy offered me a complimentary cleaning.

A couple days ago my speakers in my car suddenly stopped working. Naturally, I took it up to the Hyundai dealersip and wanted them to see if they could fix it. When I got there I was greeted by Jesse, who was very nice. He politely asked me to wait in the lobby while a technitian looked at my vehicle. He came back and said they couldn t figure out what was wrong. Jesse then told me they would have to hook it up and run a full diagnostics check to find out what was wrong. He told me that would cost $120 just to look at it and if something had to be repaired, the $120 would be applied to the repairs. I wasn t anticipating that repair to cost that much. So I left.

Makenzie is an outstanding sales rep. She was super responsive to all of my questions and concerns, and helped to make the entire buying process a pleasant experience. She helped to secure my car at a great price and took extra steps at coordinating the recommended maintenance on the vehicle, including touch-ups on the paint job (and even gave me a loaner vehicle to use during the process!). I will continue to sing her praises to any friends in need of a good vehicle and excellent customer service. Highly recommended!!

Me and my wife took our 2011 Hyundai Genesis there...

Me and my wife took our 2011 Hyundai Genesis there for a knocking noise in the engine the car drives fine except for the knocking noise when you first Crank It Up they told us we needed a camshaft so I said okay I told them to go ahead and service the car while it was their when I went to pick my car up after completion when we left the dealership I noticed the car was pulling poorly it barely changed gears I sent it back to them and they said that I needed a transmission so I immediately took my car to AAMCO Transmission and the findings there was amazing they had to replace the transmission the radiator was messed up and had to be replaced there was antifreeze in the transmission and the water pump was leaking I had none of these problems until Hyundai worked on my car and screwed it up badly I tried to contact the service manager with a letter from Aamco of the findings but they will not return my calls after reading all the bad reviews on Hyundai of Athens I am about to get Fox 5 i-team investigator on this it's about time someone does something about this business they can't continue to rip people off I work hard for my money and I don't have it to give away in this manner I just spoke with someone today at Hyundai they were supposed to be calling me back if not I am going proceed with legal action and I will be contacting everyone who left bad reviews about this place

I drove 1 hour from Atlanta because I was highly recommended by a friend. I do not regret the drive because from the moment I walked in the showroom I was greeted by an awesome staff. Jake the sales manager was super professional, attentive and quick to fill my needs. He got me approved on my first car and it was exactly how I wanted it. Garrison was also super helpful and explained every detail about the car. I felt so welcoming and comfortable. I would like to say thank you to Hyundai of Athens for an incredible experience and I would totally recommend family and friends to get there next car from here.

Services are completed as promised and seem to be of quality in and of themselves. I feel that there could be improvements in the diagnostic assessment portion of the work however as I have had many related problems that I have tried to report and was told that I was incorrect. The major issue I have with this dealership over the last couple of years is a lack of communication by the customer service reps, which has included not keeping me aware of when my car would be ready, not updating me along the way, and generally not calling back when they say that they will unless you call them. It is highly frustrating to pay lots of money for various problems and to have to be the person who initiates most of the conversations about what is going on and when you car will be ready. In addition, these same staff members are frequently listening to music or watching videos on their computers when I show up to drop off or pick up which doesn't inspire confidence that they are worried about timely communication with customers. I would not recommend this dealership as a place to bring your car after my last 4-5 experiences here.

Very shady dealership. Tried to charge me an extra $5k over the price listed on the internet. Said they had to go up on price because, fiance company was charging them To do the deal. I've bought many of cars and not once have any of the other dealers said they had to go up on price because fiance company was charging them. I advise you to stay away from this dealership.
