I visited Lost Pines Resort on a day/spa pass. The staff was accommodating. Upon arrival we were given a quick tour. I loved the eucalyptus steam room. It is inevitable you will leave here with a feeling of rejuvenation. This was the perfect getaway at an affordable rate!!

Love this place! In the country; lots of hiking trails, animals to see, clean and spacious rooms, good food. Great swim features and water slide. Excellent ambiance. They even found us a dog sitter for a reasonable rate. Dog deposit is $150 but that is for anything under 7 days. Definitely recommend it. Colorado River runs behind it.

We came to visit family in Austin. My wife will only stay in a hotel with a balcony or patio attached to the room. So, we tried this resort. Absolutely best decision! I've only been a Hyatt member for a short time and they treated my wife and I as family. Omar and the staff were exceptional. The restaurant was fantastic. They made our food to our liking. Could not ask for anything more. The staff keeps your active, from the meet and greet with the friendly animals to the s'mores in the evening. They have one of the best golf courses in the state and can't wait to play. It looks very intimidating. My wife and I have decided to come back this summer with the kids and the grandchildren. For the horse rides to the rafting on the river to the water park. You will spend very little time in your room. This resort keeps your active. Love this place, can not wait to return. I can only give your 5 stars for this review, wish it could be 10! Thank you!

The resort is nice. They offer a lot of activities for children including meeting some of the animals, alpacas, longhorns. They roast Smores every night. Rooms are pretty comfortable for family of 4.

This place is a slice of heaven. The lazy river is always the highlight for me. The hotel grounds are always impeccable and the staff has always been helpful and fun. The rooms are spacious and well kept with comfy beds. There's always something fun planned for the day and love that they have food trucks on site now.

The stay was good overall. Service was a hit and a miss. Trevor, our waiter by the pool was the most amazing and attentive person we met at the property. He was a gem! Everyone else from the front desk staff to servers at the restaurant was a-ok. The beds are AWFUL. Seriously, for the price you pay, these are the worst beds I have ever slept in at a hotel. My husband and I woke up with back issues every morning (that is not typical for us at all). The grounds are beautiful, we walked around lots. The pool is bathwater temp, there are leaves in the pool, but the place is full of trees, so that is to be expected. Overall the pool area is nice, especially for kids and families. My daughter loved the pool and the lazy river. The food is meh - you'd be better off driving into Bastrop to eat. Due to covid many of the restaurants are closed, no room service, we stayed 3 nights and had someone clean our room once. I used some free nights to visit this property, I would never pay full price for this place. If you have some free nights it's worth it, otherwise, maybe look elsewhere. It also may be much better when the place is fully operational. I definitely would like to give it a second chance someday.

Perfect distance for a weekend escape from Austin....

Perfect distance for a weekend escape from Austin. The large majority of the staff provided wonderful service and our room and the outdoor resort facilities were great. Only two complaints are (1) the excessive number of ants at the pool area. I was bitten multiple times and it was difficult to eat there since the ants would almost immediately climb onto the tables and chairs and (2) discrepancy between the check in staff who indicated that my discoverist status allowed us to have a late checkout at 2 pm and the terse response from a front desk person indicating that we had to check out by 12 pm. This was disruptive to our visit.

Beware Beware Beware Extremely overpriced ! You will pay several fees and Taxes per day ! All the amenities should be included in the expense of the way overrated rooms ! Forget making a reservation at Stories restaurant because they will not take your call ! I normally leave rave reviews on businesses but this is not the place !

We come here every summer now for the last 3yrs. We really enjoy the staff and the overall property.

It is a family oriented resort and the lazy river is the best!! It is not heated so can be a little chilly depending upon the time of the year. There is an attached activity pool that is heated. There is also a large hot tub, kiddie pool and a small splash pad.

We enjoyed the bonfire each night and made s'mores. They show kids movies outside on a big screen each night.

We did dinner one night at Stories which is an upscale steak place. It is pricey so bring you wallet but it is on par with steak places in town... for example my wife had the filet and it was $54 BUT that included 2 large shrimp, potatoes and asparagus so actually not that bad. You can order other sides as well but we didn't need to. I had the salmon and it came with asparagus... $34 I believe and it was cooked to perfection as was the filet. For our 6yr old the have a cute little 4 course meal with a few choices for her and for a dessert a "make you own cookie" where you get a plain cookie with an icing pipe bag and bowls of mini m&ms, sprinkles and gummy worms. Such a cool idea and our daughter loved it. Dining here is always the highlight of our trip. April was our waitress... she's amazing... ask for her.

Rooms are fine. If you are flexible on your dates you can find some decent deals.

Tips for saving a little money... at the pool, order off the kids menu... the kids cheeseburger is great and have them add lettuce, tomatoes and onion. The kids hot dog is big and delicious. Both are $8 and comes with a side.

Another tip... skip the breakfast buffet at Fire Wheel for $23 per person although it is a great buffet if you want to save a little money just pop into McDade's Emporium for a bagel, breakfast taco, yogurt parfait... you get the idea.

My only suggestions to Management.... for us early risers or people just checking out early some complimentary coffee in the lobby would be a nice touch. Most hotels do this and trust me... people will still buy the Starbucks coffee at the Emporium.

My last suggestion would be adding an outdoor dance floor and some live music or even a DJ!! Kids love dancing and it is a good activity for a family. My 6yr old daughter, my wife and I would be out there dancing like fools for sure. Thanks for another great experience.

Very secluded and nice! Service staff is amazing. Never been to a Hyatt Resort and did not recieve over the top golf service. Course was just coming out of winter so there was a bit to be desired. I play alot if golf and I can tell that during prime season this course will be lush and alive. Bring your thinking cap too, some of the holes are rubix cubes.

Not a fan ! It was our 23 anniversary and we thought Lost pines would be a nice place to celebrate it . Not a good idea, let's just say it wasn't quite what we would call relaxing. First of all we started our stay with 18 holes of golf ... The golf course was great , we finished around 3 pm on Saturday , we checked in to our room 2603 , the room was hot and stuffy. That's fine easy to take care of. We go to the pool and its KIDS , Kids all over the place , it was a kid camp , not a quite what we were expecting. Ok bad choice, dinner was the same , Kids all over the place .Crying and running around. As for the food , I've had better . That night our fire alarm went off , low battery, it took two phone calls and about 45 minutes. Not A fan !! We will go somewhere else next time . We made it through the night and woke up to a three year old running and screaming down our hallway over and over again , Where are the parents! Glad to leave !

The hotel and general amenities are very nice. Rooms were clean but theu felt a little dark. I enjoyed the event spaces as well as the fire pits in the evening. The pools were fine but nothing to write home about. The staff were friendly but sometimes I felt like they were focused on the job before them rather than the guests they were serving.
Overall would recommend for a short getaway.

We just got back from a 3 night stay at Lost Pines and we had a great time. The hotel itself and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful! My favorite thing about the hotel was its staff. Every single person there was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. I never once heard any staff discussing when their next break was, more interested in talking to each other than helping me, or on their cell phones, as is what normally passes for "customer service" these days. That part of the experience blew me away.
Unfortunately it rained 3.5 out of the 4 days we were there. The staff did a great job of organizing activities that our kids and we as a family could do inside but we couldn't ignore the fact that the hotel's best attractions are all outdoors. I probably wouldn't go back during a rainy time unless they install an indoor pool because the fact is you're paying full price but not getting the full experience. That being said, we will definitely go again, just probably during the summer, not spring.
I do recommend getting the bed & breakfast plan since breakfast for a family of 4 can easily be $50.

Had to get a trundle bed (and charged $25 for it) because the room did not accommodate 3 people - disappointing. Otherwise room was clean and modern. Balcony for evening views was nice. <br/>Giving so many stars because of the peaceful and serene location (you will not hear any traffic, sirens or unnecessary noise). And because of the great amenities. We enjoyed a full day poolside and in the lazy river - and loved it. Nightly movies and s'mores are great for families. Bikes available. And my daughter loved the animals - mini horses, long horn, piggy and goats. My husband played golf and said it was a great course. Had buffet dinner in the main restaurant and it was good, but somewhat limited options for a buffet.

Absolutely love this place! Smores at night, movies on the lawn, golf, kayaking, horse back riding, quiet gardens, balconies, lazy river, miniatures horse and lamas, not to mention the food here is out of this world. ALL the staff is friendly, from the gardener to the room stewards, wait staff and front desk. They've got it all. This place blew my husband and I away! We just left and are going back in 2 weeks!

Buffet was OVER priced and not very good. We were sat in the back of the restaurant and could barely see our food as it was so dark. $130 for 3 adults and 1 child, no adult beverages including automatic gratuity as we had a party of 10. On a positive note the property is beautiful. The outdoor fire pit was amazing and everyone was very accommodating.

I did not get much time to experience the resort. We saw a bird show and then we went into the lazy river to start swimming and had only gone around once when a large storm hit and we had to get out.
It seems like a very nice place. Wish I had seen more.

The people who work here are best in class! So kind, helpful and professional! The waitstaff, front desk, security, maid service all excellent! For the price I was surprised by how dated the hallways looked (some peeling wallpaper) and the room (lots of chipped paint on bathroom door). The bed was a bit lumpy and the pillows a bit hard. The food was ok, vegetables and available snacks were good, dinner veggie options were not good. The grounds seemed great but it was raining the whole time so couldn't enjoy them. I imagine I would have rated this 4 if I was able to enjoy the grounds.

Fun place, but a little disappointing, beds were horrible on our backs...talked to neighboring guests who agreed. Activities like shotgun, and archery were really only 30 minutes sessions due to their booking 10 people and only having 5 shooting positions...restaurants leave a lot to be desired...

What an amazing hotel! I went for a work event and felt like royalty. The entire property is so gorgeous. I love it because it s far enough away from the city to feel secluded but close enough to where you can drive to Austin with no problems. All of the staff were super friendly and everyone enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately disappointed due to the fact we were really looking forward to staying here. I called the resort specifically to make sure the pool was able to be used since we were traveling with our children, once I arrived they offered a room with "pool access" for an additional charge, which I paid. Once we were into the room and settled we made a trip to the pool to find it under construction and the gate for my "pool access" blocked with piles of chairs. We ended up checking out after the first night, still costing me about $300 - and a couple of disappointed girls. The resort itself is beautiful and well maintained, the grounds were spotless and rooms clean. We ate dinner at the sportsbar type restaurant, the service and food was excellent and fairly priced compared to other similar caliber resorts we've stayed at.

What a beautiful setting located near Austin Texa...

What a beautiful setting located near Austin Texas. A great place for a family vacation. Nice family and adult only pools. Beautiful lush landscaping all around the resort. You can enjoy various daily activities which are posted daily. They have two alpacas on the property. We enjoyed dining alfresco at Scripes, a bar and bistro type restaurant. For breakfast the resort has an extensive buffet dining opportunity at Fire Wheel cafe with a made to order omelette station. May I suggest you order a latte instead of regular coffee. What a treat. We also dined twice at Shellers Barrelhouse bar. This restaurant had a family friendly pub feel. Serving a wide range of menu items from tacos, salads, sandwiches, steak in an informal setting. The shrimp tacos were wonderful. The bourbon chicken was also great. The restaurant also offered a children's menu. The property is about 400 acres located along the Colorado river. You can go hiking on the many trails, take a trail ride, play golf, swim, enjoy a spa treatment, partake in the daily activities like family trivia, roast s'mores around a fire pit. The resort also offers free bikes to ride all around the resort. Too many activities to do them all in one 4 day stay. On our last day the staff had their two alpacas in the lobby for a guest photo opportunity. The adult frozen beverages at the pool were wonderful to cool off. I had a pina colada and a mango margarita. Both delicious. The resort is very pet friendly. They have patio rooms available for guests who wish to bring their pets. We did a trail ride one morning. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They had a secure place for your belongings while out on the trail. While on the trail I did notice a few golf balls on the ground from the course. This made me a bit timid. I wonder if the rides are timed while the course is closed. Although rides are scheduled in the mornings from 8:30 AM thru 10:30AM. So I'm not sure about that. The ride was very pleasant. My husband enjoyed the trap shooting activity. Also held on property are many more daily activities like yoga. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The only complaint was our room liked a bit worn fir the price. When we arrived we found that the carpet had most probably not been thoroughly vacuumed. We found old pretzels and crumbs in between our beds. Also when I called early one morning to have our roomed cleaned/ made up before our activity because our dogs were in the room(at two hours before we were needing to leave) the staff did not get to our room until we needed to leave. We had taken the dogs with us to breakfast to accommodate the staff. When we returned the room still had not been made up. We had been gone at least 55 minutes. Upon discovering a still unmade room I had to flag down a housekeeping staff member to make up our room. Due to their delay in cleaning our room at the time we requested (two hours before we needed to leave and keep the dogs in the room) we were late to an off property horseback riding lesson. Unfortunately I had to forgo a regular cleaning of my room that day because we had to leave, and the dogs needed to be secured in the room before we left. The staff once they realized our urgency was very friendly and accommodating. I just wish we would not have had this added stress. Particularly since we called housekeeping initially and they initially said they would send someone immediately to clean our room while we were at breakfast. Other than that our stay was great. Probably would have given the resort 5 stars if the the room cleaning and initial observation of the room at checkin was not an issue. I will return next with out my pets and see what the other rooms are like. In general a very nice place to stay for a 4 day vacation.

We went to stay with family we had a large suite and connecting room 2801-3. The new remodel is a bomb! We were so disappointed in the new banquette seating and no easy chair in either room. My husband uses a wheelchair it s a shame when the most comfortable chair in rooms is that! Wagon wheel light fixture is frightfully ugly. Poor room lighting because the wagon wheel in the corner is it! I feel that seniors will not feel rested because the room seating is not inviting or remotely comfortable! Where will we go to relax? In lobby? Because of the restart we must resist food critique. Just not at all a comfortable great experience within our room! J Goates

We love coming here for a one-day visit/retreat. Peaceful hiking and strolling, fantastic swimming areas for the family, and a large comfy lobby to hang out (or in) if the weather's inclement. There's also several restaurants to grab a good meal while catching the sunset. Everything here is pricey though.
