Do not bother renting at a Greystar community. Greystar is just a management company and all the apartment complexes have different owners. As a result of that, there's no way to transfer your lease from one Greystar property to another. And just because one may have the same name as another of their apartment complexes, they're still owned by different people. And most employees don't care much about their residents. One of the employees made me leave work early one day chasing me down about having my renter's insurance policy information in their system. I had it in when I moved, but they switched to a different website. I then had to copy the Assistant Property Manager to the email to get them to call my insurance. This company is called Greystar because they have no black or white resolutions about anything. They leave you in the grey area in the middle and screw you over.
Awful. They previously were In charge of property management at Overton row in Charlotte NC. Staff was rude and property wasn t maintained. Watch out for Chloe. She loses important documents and blames you for it. Horrible attitude and absolutely no people skills whatsoever. Lincoln property management has taken over and has done a fantastic job at providing excellent customer service and have made a very good effort to make Overton a better place to live.
I have been lied to several times by the management at Overton Row apartments - a Greystar property. They are purposely deceitful in order to get people to sign leases and move in, and are terrible at handling customer service issues. So I tried to call Greystar for help, and it s been a waste of time. They don t answer the phone, and I have left several courteous voicemails for the resident relations department, and haven t ever received a response. If you re thinking of living in a Greystar property, save a headache and look elsewhere
SOLIS BEREWICK/GREYSTAR REVIEW: Moved out July 30, 2018. Left the apartment in immaculate condition. No returned deposit nor statement of any damages (because there was no damage). I received a call from Christina on10/30/2018 at 1:34 PM stating, "Hi C, I am calling to see if you received your deposit in the mail yet?" Really? She knew full well they did not return my deposit to me otherwise, she would have no reason to call me. We are not friends. Then she says, "our accounting department sent it to the wrong address and it was returned". REALLY? Lol... Get this. The error in the address was one letter; a vowel. Instead of an "i" in my street name, according to her, the spelled my street name with an "e". This is the dumbest excuse I have ever heard. One letter people. I am sure the post office would have figured that out. Not only did I provide my change of address on the third party residential site, she insisted that I write it down the day I went to turn in my keys. I submitted my change of address to them twice and still no returned deposit. As of today, 11/16/18, I still have not received my deposit. The apartments are lovely. However with the noise levels, fire alarms and the unqualified unprofessional corporate, regional, community manager, assistant manager and front-line employees, made living at Solis Berewick a true nightmare. Do not ignore the one star reviews. I can't tell you where to spend your money nor where to live. All I will say is do your research on Solis Berewick (Google, Yelp, YouTube and Facebook) and Greystar (Google). The people working at the corporate, regional, and the Berewick offices (community manager and assistant manager) make you feel like you just made a deal with the devil.
Fraudulently charged me extra money bc their leasing agents made a mistake
I recently applied on 5/27/2018 for apartment located at Bridford West Apartments. It was towards memorial day weekend. They assured me that I would be excepted and so I waited outside the complex during that weekend which was a four day. I had no other place to go. That following Monday I walked into the office confident that I would get keys. I was then told I was not excepted. I put down nearly $400, $300 of which was a deposit and some other fee that you get back. I pay that with a card online and you figure that you would get that back the same way and within A weeks time. Unfortunately they told me it would take 3 to 4 weeks to get that money back and I have yet to hear from anybody to a sure me let alone let me know the status of that money returning back to my card. They said they would need to do a paper check to me. At that timeI did not have a place to go. I found a place by the way however I was scared to go to any other places due to the fact that they are all managed by GREYSTAR. I will not, nor will I ever think of going to any property managed by these people. When you promised someone something and nothing happens or the exact opposite, that is just bad business practices. By the way I have yet to receive a phone call from the property that I applied to nor my money back. I am scared that I may not get that money.
TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!!! GREYSTAR purchased the property where we lived and they clearly do not care about you....only your money. They sent me a final bill in the mail 15 days after I moved out and would not return my phone calls (left vm 3 times on the number provided) to dispute the charges.....instead they sent me to collections (less than 30 days after sending me the final bill). Be prepared to sign your life away and be treated like a piggy bank. NOT WORTH IT!!! People work hard for their money and should not be treated like this....shame on you Greystar!
I live at Element South, which may as well be North Korea. I just had the property manager banging on my door because I put out trash too early (3pm instead of 6pm). She told me I was ruining the concrete by having leaky bags, while the maintenance person present disagreed with her. I explained that I had a housekeeper present and I would personally take the trash to the dumpster once she was finished. Anita told me to take my trash back inside immediately. I said no, my floors are wet and the housekeeper has cleared everything from the living room to mop. I even opened the door to let her see.
Aside from this interaction, all of her emails to the property are condescending and introduce new rules ("we'll fine you $100 if you don't pick up dog poop." "We'll fine you $500 if you smoke outside of a designated area.") I don't have dogs or smoke but the threats to the whole community are getting out of hand.
Complaints about Provenza apts Indian Trail with no response from mgmt at apts or grey star.
I live at one of the properties here, and am wondering why if the governor said pools are allowed to open, that ours cannot. It is 88 degrees, and yesterday the power was out for HOURS and instead of being able to relax in the pool we had to sit in our AC-less apartments. All of the apartment complexes around us have opened their pools half capacity. Last year at this time our pool was also closed for maintenance for weeks with no explanation as to why. I am now seeing this apparently is a lack of preparedness on the property managements fault, which is insane considering the high prices we pay here for amenities to be open. We currently will be fined if we even use our grill? What is the point of paying and living here if we can t even sit in a public chair in the courtyard without being fined $500? The governor has lifted these sanctions and I need an answer as to why greystar is the one of the ONLY apartment complexes in south end that apparently chooses not to follow them. I have been incredibly frustrated living here, and I know it is a common theme with the 20+ people I have met living here. They claim to have closed our pool to keep us safe, however when a vet confirmed our dog park was so filthy It was infested with giardia and could get us humans sick, it took the management over SIX months to even clean it. Which in fact shows, they do not care about our safety one bit so I am not sure why they are choosing now to claim they do. If they claim they want to keep us safe, why has there been glass in a stairwell for over 2 months? Why are there no lights in the parking garage after 30+ break ins? Why do half the doors lock? I moved in here before it was greystar property, and am absolutely bummed they took over halfway through my lease. Pathetic excuse for a management team.
My husband and I went into the Belle Haven Apartment on 3/6/18 and was taken on a tour by Jesse. We left and returned the same day to pay our application and administration fee. On 3/8/18 I received an Welcome letter through email. On 3/14/18 we paid out deposit for a move in date of 3/17/18. On 3/17/18 my husband and family moved in our sofa, love seat, 3 bedrooms sets, pictures, some clothes and kitchen ware. My started setting up the kids bed and found a bed bug on the wall. Then the bed bugs started coming from all over. I was at work when my husband called me with this problem. Of course it was after hours and the office was closed. Jesse called me back and stated that there was no way the bed bugs where in the apartment because the apartment was inspected and treated. I told him that we never had any type of bugs in our house so I'm confused to how this could happen.
I took off the next day and went to the office to get this straighten out. Again Jesse stated that there was no way that their apartment had bed bugs, we couldn't get out of the lease. Long story short I asked to be moved to a different unit. WELL GUESS WHAT? That unit had bed bugs as well. Mind you our furniture is still in the first unit waiting for someone to come treat it several days later. So the unit had no furniture in it and there were bed bugs crawling on base boards, walls and near the vents. I videoed the conversation with Jesse and of the bed bugs crawling along with photos. Then I was told we would be released from our lease and our money would be refunded to us. Our furniture would be treated and they would let us know when we could pick it back up. WE THREW ALL OF FURNITURE AWAY!!!!!!
I forgot to mention we only had 15-20 more days to move out of current residence due to the owner selling. Again long story short it's 4/13/18 and we haven't received a refunded and no one from the corporate off has contacted us to apologize. Oh and I emailed and left a message for Lindsay Stanley. I've called today and left another message and I'm currently waiting. I'M STILL WAITING ON RETURN CALLS AND A REFUND.
I currently live at The reserve at The waterfront. This place is a major rip off, when I first moved in Kayla whom was working here at The time quoted me a specific price for my rent. Well when I got my first bill it was close to 900 dollars but Kayla never once informed me of all the extra fees that would be included with the rent. Every since our old rent office manager has left Miss Lucy whom is her name, the new office manager Deanna has done nothing but sent out countless emails about pretty much nothing. Miss Danna who is never there and is suppose to be the new office manager had the nerve to not even pay the Duke Energy bill stating that their system was down. Many nights went by with no lighting in the stairwell and I was scared for my life just to come home because it was so dark outside. It took the whole staff 4 months to just open the pool up for us, but we can only use the pool when the office staff is there in the office what a waste of amenities if you ask me. I guess the question that I have is what am I really paying for by this time? A steel gate with a bunch of lies from staff that is constantly changed every week. I will not be renewing my lease and I hope the reserve gets their act together for the future residents.
Dont believe their reviews at Whitehall Estates. They delete any reviews that don t make them look good. The entire staff is rude, from the office down to maintenance. You are just their paycheck. They don t care about you!!! I have gone out of my way to make this a good experience but evidently, they think I m stupid!!! They have gone too far this time. I am being bullied, threatened & harrassed & all the office will do is try to argue with you. They wouldn t answer my calls & went up there & Ben & his partner that day were just sitting there, doing nothing. My son was cussed in Spanish in the parking lot by the one of the maintenance men when he said hello!! NO ONE will disrespect my son & me call this home ! I requested to be changed to a 2 bdrm 1st floor & told they would put me on the list by Ben. Well guess what? They are now doing leasing specials for 2 bdrms on the 1st floor & will charge me $400 extra to move but if you re walking in off the street? $50!! No regards for individuals circumstances. It s just a scam to get you in so they can bully & harrass you too. I made sure before I moved in that this property wasn t owned by Greystar from the horrible treatment we received by the office staff at our last place & within 3 months, Greystar had bought it out & this office staff is par as Greystar employees. I live in constant fear wherever I go will again be bought out by Greystar to just receive the same treatment of harassment, bullies & constant threats Im breaking my lease.
The apartment was nice, and the staff is friendly. The only reason that they get a 1 is because the organization and communication. I have been moved out for more than 70 days and Crest on Providence and Greystar as yet to send back MY security deposit. I have reached out to the managers Dawn and Tanya at the leasing office and the only thing that they say is that they have sent emails. The community itself was rewarding for my child and I, however the lack of organization displayed by the corporate company during a difficult matter, speaks volumes about the company and community, and reassures me that my move out was the best decision. All I wanted was a resolution and follow up calls, I have yet to get any from Greystar and Crest on Providence.
They've mismanaged skyhouse into the ground.
EDIT
To the incredibly low effort response below, no, you absolutely won't. We had a series of meetings after somebody was literally murdered in skyhouse, and your representative chose to just blow off every scrap of feedback offered by multiple people who were understandably concerned for their safety. That's your company's mode of operation; just say what people want to hear without actually doing anything. You need to actually start listening, as you are getting a very bad reputation in Charlotte, and most people I know are beginning to actively avoid any property with greystar as the management company. There is a good reason as to why you have a _1.9_star rating right now.
These people don t answer the phone or return calls for nothing. I ve left plenty of messages, even contacted them via messenger and was told to wait 2 business days for a response.. didn t receive one. I called another location, had my information submitted once again.. and still no response. This is just ridiculous.
Nothing against the apartments or the maintenance guy them selfs but the Management doesn t care about any of your issues/complaint you may have!
They make sure you pay your rent....everything else is way above their pay grade! Can t wait for my lease to expire
Have attempted to reach Graystar Charlotte office 4 times. in the past week. Left messages each time.
Ive been staying in Skyhouse south tower for about 6 months now, about 3 months in Graystar took over as the property managers and it's gone straight down hill from there. I'm still having to pay luxury prices for this not so luxurious apartment living. No security(there's a homeless shelter 2 blocks away) usually only one elevator actually functioning(20 minute waits to get to your apartment) we now have no conceriege until 6pm now and during the day if I need something I'm supposed to be patient as there will only be two leasing agents in the building to assist new residents, current residents, packages coming in. I could go on and on. Abysmal experience. Will be terminating my lease soon.
Illegally sent my name to a debt collection company after they violated the terms of their own lease. This isn't a management company, it's a criminal organization.
We drove from California to Charlotte, NC looking forward to moving into Plantation Park in Ballantyne. When we arrived at noon it took them an hour to tell us the apartment was not ready. We put a deposit down July 1st for our place so I am at a loss as to why it was not ready to move into yesterday the 22nd of August. It is the 23rd and they said it would be ready today at 11:30. Let's hope we actually get to move in today. The staff doesn't seem to grasp our frustration with this situation and are acting like it's no big deal. This is by far the worst experience we have had with renting an apartment.
Good luck trying to contact ANYBODY at their office!!!! I am not even an official resident and I called regarding some questions about my application. I've been calling for 3 days trying to get someone to pick up the phone, and if you try to leave a message it says the mailbox is full. Have also tried sending an email to no avail. HOW DO YOU MANAGE A PROPERTY AND NOT ANSWER THE PHONES?! So incredibly frustrating.
Me and my wife were recently apartment hunting and we stopped by (Fountains at Matthews) Liked the area, liked the apartment, and the price point BUT since I m self employed(1099) they told me that i had to have $41, 544 in my bank account consecutive for 3 months in order to move in. Statistically 60 percent of people don t even have $1,000 in their savings. Pretty illogical. Why would i need 40K to live at an apartment ?? No other apartment required that from me, I even went to an apartment managed by the SAME company and they even told me i just needed 3 months worth of bank statement like all the other apartments. You can clearly see I make 5x the rent that s WITHOUT my wife s income!!! I m so glad to be moving to the Ballantyne area so i do not have to deal with incompetence like this.
**IVE ALREADY TRIED TO CONTACT THE COMPANY AND LEFT NUMEROUS VOICEMAILS AND NO ONE EVER REACHED OUT OR CALLED BACK, THIS WAS THEIR ONLY FORM OF COMMUNICATION WITH ME. NO ONE HAS EVER REACHED OUT TO ME **
It s a crying shame that during this time of confusion, pain and anxiety that Greystar Properties Charlotte would not support its tenants who are desperately out of work. I have tried to reach out to their corporate office with no luck or call back. They make so much money off of people, but don t want to give back. They should have at least gave people a month break on rent so that they can feed their families. Don t ever move into one of their properties. Don t do business with a brand so evil. No I am not a tenant that don t pay rent. Fair is fair. How can you hold us responsible for rent knowing that the majority of the world is out of work which is not by choice. Step up and help out your communities. Show us that Greystar does care.We pay you enough rent every damn month for that much grace. We have yet to hear from you!
I've been calling for a week. I also sent an email. No reply. Now I've been sitting in this unsecure lobby for a little more than 30 mins. No noise, no nothing in this office at 2pm. They close around 5p. Where is everyone? Anyway...
When the property I'm living in was sold to another management company there was no communication to assure a smooth transition concerning people who use autopay for rent.
I've called the required numbers and left voice messages. No answer, no callback. Now I'm in the lobby of this beautiful and quiet office space on E. Morehead typing this complaint.
I just wanted to make sure my rent would no longer draft from my account. That's all. Can someone confirm this so I don't have to pay $40 to have it stopped from my bank?
This is all that I needed... no help.
I don't care about the other complaints I could have. I just wanted to make sure my money was cool.
So an hour later, I'm told no one from residential is in the building today. Their not sure who I'd speak to but at least they gave me a card. I called the number on the card and surprise, I finally get a nice nasty call back from one of the real estate directors who didn't even verify my concern before attempting to address it. She wasn't cool at all. I didn't raise a funk, but I did have to cut her her off for trying to get at me the way she attempted too. She was flat out rude. Nothing personal, but my experience with this Management company was terrible. Although, they did have very nice people working at the apartment location (no matter how poorly kept the locations were).
Grey star is the most worthless rental company in man kind. We were renting in Birkdalevillage in Huntersville NC. There was a company that was very good in there then Greystar came in and it is the worst. They take for ever to fix things and they will keep you deposits and charge you more on top. I ve been there three years Greystar came in the last year we were there and they are the reason we left. Do Not again DO NOT rent from these people they will rob you blind. They lie and they are un trust worthy. You rent from them you will be unhappy and tell your self I should listen to that review. Everyone that left after Greystar came in has said the sam thing. Tell your friends and I will let the 40,000 people I have on YouTube know and have them pass it on so they can t do this again to someone else. I don t even want to give them a star but I can t post with out it.
Just flat out evil. Utilizing the most predatory towing service at your crest gateway area I now have to pay $275 for parking in my own lot (which seems to have been made for Nissan Leafs only)
I currently live in Mosaic. I am currently trying to find a way to leave. There is an infestation of gnats here which the property manager keeps telling me it is my fault "my trash can, my fruit, my door, my bla bla bla". While I have done everything to fix the issue, they have sprayed over 5 times and the problem won't go away. They offer for me to break my lease 60 days in advance now 30, but who's going to pay for my relocation for an issue that CLEARLY isn't mine. I can't even eat in my home without a gnat landing on my food. I can't sleep without a gnat flying into my nose. I by far have the cleanest apartment in this building but yet it's still my fault . Contact corporate, no reply. And I'm done talking to property management here. So please when responding to this don't tell me how you will direct my concerns to them.
1 star coz there is no rating to make it 0. We are following up with greystar since 4 months now for the refund of our deposit money which is almost around $950. There is no response to our mails calls. Now the place is taken over by a new company so nobody seems to care about our deposits. This is frustrating. We have left number of voicemails but not a single call back. I am going to contact my attorney to get them listen to us. Don't ever deal with greystar. They r the worst.
This is the worst complex. Their corporate office is impossible to get in touch with and the community I lived in was never cleaned or taken care of on the outside. Neighbors had bed bugs and there s almost never any parking even though we had a pass. I won t ever deal with them again, don t understand why they can t just pick up the phone during their business hours!
If there was a way to send a private message I would..
Worst rental experience found here. No care shown for residents, questionable billing practices, and no regard for issues in their communities .
I have been waiting on a deposit refund for 45 days I never received a call back from anyone in the Grey star office I sent emails also no response
Please make a wise decision when using this company
We just moved into the apartment complex and my roommate got her rental car towed.
First of all, she called and asked if there was anything she needed to do and also left a message (documented information) to ensure she didn't need to do anything. She left the message on Thursday during lunch (working hours). No one got back to her. Woke up this morning and her car was gone. Management also had more than enough time to get back to her. She then went to the office And was told "you should have double checked." No, your office should have respond back to your residents needs. This is extremely poor customer service and will be followed up with the proper consequences unless handled properly, via being paid back the $200 needed to pay to get the car back. This is absolutely unacceptable.
When you call the Community they manage all you get is an answering service that state will call back they never do. Their Corp. Office is worse cause I been calling for a week and their voicemail is full. The worst management company ever!!
This office does a poor job of accommodating their community. I ve dealt with them on multiple occasions concerning my apartment complex and it s issues. Not only do they not fix issues, half of the time they are unresponsive. I ve had to call 5-6 times just to get someone to answer or call me back. When they do finally call back/answer the phone they are filled with excuses and lies as to why matters have not been addressed/ fixed. Heather Madden specifically likes to say she will call/ email updates and then doesn t. This has happened multiple times. If you can help it at all do not sign a lease with Greystar properties. They will take your money and you ll have a miserable time dealing with them.
WATCH OUT FOR THIS COMPANY. Terrible buisness ethics. I lived in Millennium One near UNCC and upon moving out i recieved several charges that were totally ridiculous. Also, i had credit i saved up by not using all the allotted electricity and when i moved out they coincidentally added a "third floor luxury fee" that was exactly the same amount of money i accrued from saving electricity. The worst part about it was when i tried to contact the recievables it took me weeks to even talk to someone with any power and when i did he didn't help at all and he couldnt even give me an answer of why i had to pay the "third floor luxury fee." The $60 wasnt worth getting a lawyer over but i will NEVER live in a greystar apartment again.
My boyfriend and I live at Junction 1504 and have been here for a while now and while most of my experience is great, there have been a lot of factors, mostly with the office staff, that have really soiled my stay. There is one leasing agent in the office, and for privacy purposes I won't say her name, but she has somehow been here for a long time and I truly don't understand how/why. I was told one thing upon moving in, and then when I followed up on it, she feigned dumb, would ignore/hide from my calls to the office to clarify the situation, and ended up charging me an amount much higher than what I had been told. To contest this, I tried reaching out to the Greystar headquarters in Charlotte and EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALLED, the phone was not picked up. None of my voicemails were returned, and neither were my emails. It is such a poorly run organization and they have absolutely no intent of responding to your inquiries or issues.
They do not answer the phone or return voicemails. I have been calling and leaving voicemails for almost 3 weeks and NOTHING!!!!
Absolutely unwilling to work with people- I lived in the Elizabeth Square Apartments. I was moving and was happy to pay through my lease date. I mistakenly missed the 60 day notice period in my lease and was on the hook to pay even longer, at that point they raised the rent because it was past the lease date and they continued to to charge me for all the additional added fees such as pet fee, garbage removal , etc, even though I had moved out and left a spotless apartment. I had called and asked on numerous occasions or the staff to attempt to try to rent the apartment ot work with me in any way. There comes a certain point where it becomes thievery.
Hello,
I am a resident and have been trying for over a month. I have left three messages and to avail no one gets back to you. I am so glad I have proof of my calls due to my call log, This is so unprofessional. I wish I could give no stars
