I give this a 5 star primarily for Mike Grier. He was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us with our VA loan. We did have some issues with Underwriting and felt as if our file wasn t quite looked at closely, which sort of made closing day drag out for hours. But overall, it was a good experience. I recommend you to have ALL your documents ready. Have an explanation ready for any previous remarks on credit and other things. It ll make your home buying process much smoother.
I have worked with Danny Park several times. He helped us with some VA refinances and had always been available to me when I have needed info. The decision to use Danny for this VA purchase was a no brainer. The seller and my realtor were concerned about doing a VA loan because they can be a little more difficult. My realtor was impressed by Danny's communication and dedication during the transaction. We closed escrow a week early because of he's professionalism, really impressed all parties involved. Danny must work 24hrs a day, he is always a call, text or email away when you need anything from him. I have referred him to several friends, even my realtor just recommended him to a client he was working with, because he was so impressed.

Mark is an outstanding mortgage broker. I was shopping for a new mortgage and after talking to several other companies that wouldn't honor their advertised rate, I found Mark on Bankrate. Not only did he honor his advertised rate, he needed only a few pieces of information and the loan was off to the underwriter within an hour or so. I've purchased a number of homes and this was the smoothest application process I've experienced. Mark is always available by text, phone, and email and responded quickly to any questions I answered. When the title company had a last minute snafu, he jumped in to help resolve it. I would happily use him again. His level of customer service is nothing short of exceptional.

Luke was awesome! He worked hard to get us a deal and close on our VA refi.
This lender was creative and able to 'structure' and thus customize a VA loan in the best manner to benefit the buyer/re-financier. They offered the most competitive interest rate and a nice pricing credit at the time. Other lenders could not match the rate and 'pricing' (ie. lender credits) and couldn't grasp how to structure the loan per the VA recommendations to save the client on the VA funding fee. So, yes agent was 'nice' but that pales to his ability to go outside of the usual format of VA lending and work with the VA to get the client the lowest funding fee. Other agents just could not cope with anything out of the ordinary.
From the beginning Mark was direct with expectations regarding items spanning from rates to costs to timeline. He kept his word on everything and met all deadlines early. I wouldn t hesitate to use FMD again and will definitely refer friends and family to FMD who wish to be treated like family.

Got a call from Luke promising they were the best and typically outproduce their competition significantly. I told him I was down the road with a few others and likely had no interest but if he wanted to shoot me over a quote I would look at it. Quote looked good at about 1/4 point lower than the next guy. Told him I was interested. Got the appraisal back a little light, certainly not their fault. Said I wasnt interested in the 30 yr FHA but would like to see 20 year conventional. Ultimately I was not interested do to the high cost to close and higher interest rate. He called and as I began to tell him my issues with it he aggressively talked over me telling me I was wrong and I dont know what I am talking about . I told him well you didn't give me a chance to speak. He then continued to tell me, he showed me how good a savings this is and I am not interested and thats fine. I said thanks and he just hung up. Got a text and an email later that day. Let me try one more thing. Sent it over killing about 2k worth of close, decreased the rate and offered a HELOC loan for cash out purposes. I told him that there were a lot of inconsistencies about the insurance numbers, escrow, close, rather the appraisal was included or not. He just nodded through the process assuring me it was right. Sent me the HELOC and said would i sign if he gets it approved. I said yes and sent him the final paperwork. calls me back, to tell me the numbers were messed up and that it would take twice as much out of pocket to close. He said this stuff is bound to happen as many times as we went back and forth. I explained how I feared his phone calls as every time we spoke things got worse. He assured me they hadn't and that this was normal. I contemplated it and while it was not a big savings at all I did like the idea of getting out of the FHA and getting the additional cash for the HELOC. Reluctantly I gave a guy that had been all over the place with his numbers and no attention to detail the go ahead as he promised a 10 to 15 day close. Ultimately I received the last call saying that he has been fighting all day but has 13 other deals in the pipeline and is done wasting his time and hung up on me for the very last time. Angry, unprofessional, inaccurate, and ultimately over promising and just called to dump both loans with no attempt to remedy as he knew how bad the experience had been. He just hung the phone up for the second time in 3 days. Certainly buyer beware with these guys. Wasted a lot of time and effort trying to keep my business local. Will call the professionals that know how to treat people even in the face of adversity. Two thumbs down First Mortgage Solutions. Ok to not service my loan but dont be JV about it. Own your mistakes, get the accurate info, and treat people decent. FAIL on all of those...

She answer every question (I had dozens) thoroughly, promptly and without any hint of impatience. She offered excellent advice during a highly volatile market, and she make the entire process not only far less costly (both in terms of fees and her rate), but it was actually far more convenient and easy than the refi's I've done in person.

I am so disheartened by my experience with First Mortgage Solutions/Direct. The agent Rick led us on to believe that they could finance us, we gave them 30 extra days and they missed the closing day completely. The day of closing we heard nothing from our lender and it was frightening. Rick was aloof, dishonest, and disorganized and led us on to believe he could finance a loan that the underwriters denied. Our realtor voiced his complaints about working with Rick and stated that he was "not impressed" but it didn't impact us directly at first so we didn't pay attention to the red flags. I wish I followed my Realtor's instincts. I asked at one point if there was a possibility of closing early and Rick told me "We are a high volume loan agency and that is not possible." My husband was offered a job that he could not turn down and we told Rick. Rick said that underwriting approved but if we just gave him more time he could close. Well, closing day came, and he didn't even know we were supposed to close, even though we and our realtor reminded him multiple times what our closing day was. We extended our closing (the sellers of our home were already NOT happy as we already extended) and I contacted his supervisor. His supervisor was decent enough to tell me that they may not be able to give us this loan but no honesty from Rick. I wish Rick was up front and honest before we extended but he was not, he led us on, and my family and I are without the financing to purchase the home that we have already moved into.
The entire process started off great. Kelly was quick to respond and answered all the questions we had. As we got close to the closing date it seems that communicating with us was no longer a priority. In all fairness, we are located outside the United States but we were communicating primarily through email so I'm at a loss for why the communication seemed to fade out. I wish the end of the process was as transparent as the beginning.

The rep I worked with was reasonably responsive. However, his general attitude and demeanor needs an overhaul. Also, they sent me asset forms to complete from another client, and asked about houses we did not own. And when we decided to move on, the comment we got back from him was You could not have wasted anymore of my time. I am certainly glad we left.

One of the best! Danny was able to give me a lower interest rate than other lenders, which would save me hundreds of dollar every month. He was also easy to work with and because of him, now I have a big and beautiful home on the 15th green.
