Got a call from Luke promising they were the best and typically outproduce their competition significantly. I told him I was down the road with a few others and likely had no interest but if he wanted to shoot me over a quote I would look at it.
Quote looked good at about 1/4 point lower than the next guy. Told him I was interested. Got the appraisal back a little light, certainly not their fault. Said I wasnt interested in the 30 yr FHA but would like to see 20 year conventional. Ultimately I was not interested do to the high cost to close and higher interest rate. He called and as I began to tell him my issues with it he aggressively talked over me telling me I was wrong and I dont know what I am talking about . I told him well you didn't give me a chance to speak. He then continued to tell me, he showed me how good a savings this is and I am not interested and thats fine. I said thanks and he just hung up. Got a text and an email later that day. Let me try one more thing. Sent it over killing about 2k worth of close, decreased the rate and offered a HELOC loan for cash out purposes. I told him that there were a lot of inconsistencies about the insurance numbers, escrow, close, rather the appraisal was included or not. He just nodded through the process assuring me it was right. Sent me the HELOC and said would i sign if he gets it approved. I said yes and sent him the final paperwork. calls me back, to tell me the numbers were messed up and that it would take twice as much out of pocket to close. He said this stuff is bound to happen as many times as we went back and forth. I explained how I feared his phone calls as every time we spoke things got worse. He assured me they hadn't and that this was normal. I contemplated it and while it was not a big savings at all I did like the idea of getting out of the FHA and getting the additional cash for the HELOC. Reluctantly I gave a guy that had been all over the place with his numbers and no attention to detail the go ahead as he promised a 10 to 15 day close. Ultimately I received the last call saying that he has been fighting all day but has 13 other deals in the pipeline and is done wasting his time and hung up on me for the very last time. Angry, unprofessional, inaccurate, and ultimately over promising and just called to dump both loans with no attempt to remedy as he knew how bad the experience had been. He just hung the phone up for the second time in 3 days. Certainly buyer beware with these guys. Wasted a lot of time and effort trying to keep my business local. Will call the professionals that know how to treat people even in the face of adversity. Two thumbs down First Mortgage Solutions. Ok to not service my loan but dont be JV about it. Own your mistakes, get the accurate info, and treat people decent. FAIL on all of those...
