Well.they have outdone themselves again. It is a pity I cannot give less than one star. apparently they paid the members too much. Oops, sorry, it wasn't them, it was the system, that paid members too much. Now they have to get the money back. I went to get glasses and the optometrist phoned Fedhealth to find out what my re-reimbursement would be. It was only about R 1 800, so I went ahead with getting the glasses. Now that I have paid with my credit card I find out it will be slightly over R 1 000. This because they (sorry the system) had paid people too much and now they need to recoup the money. This I must swallow all through trust. No detailed explanation, or statement. Fedhealth is useless. I cannot believe all medical aids can be this useless.
even with their exorbitant fees they still cannot get anything right.

I've been a member of this scheme for 15 years - trust me: DON'T SIGN UP.

If I didn't have exclusions imposed on me by other medical aids, I'd cancel immediately.

They simply don't care about us, their paying clients and members.

After two weeks, ten emails I receive no response to, and countless calls of an hour or more per call, I'm about to get in my car, drive over to Fedhealth's headoffice and camp outside the CEOs office until I get some form of intelligent service - their call centre staff from the frontline to the senior managers have no idea what they are doing - everything is escalated and nothing is resolved.

They also don't care - their job is to take a call, not to help someone in need. It is very sad.

1) I have a particular type of cancer but, instead of allocating my treatment and medication to my oncology benefit, they take it out of my savings...I then go to get my medication and am told I don't have anything in my account - every year, for my entire time with them.

2) Even though there are contracts in place, Fedhealth accuse my doctors and specialists of overcharging. When queried, Fedhealth then change the excuses - making me and the treating physicians run around in circles.

3) They call their approach "self-service" and "client / customer control" but we have no control and we are treated like we owe them something when we call them.

Don't walk, RUN away!

Fed health gives me mixed emotions. Sometimes. On the other hand they allow doctors who don't really care about patient's health, they care more about the money and how precious their equipment is. You pay 3000 odd Rands monthly but the contributions give you almost the same kind of service you'd normally get from public clinics or hospitals. Just the other day I went to life Brent Hurst hospital complaining about three things. I first spoke to a sister who opened a file for me. I listed all three things I went to see the GP about but when the GP came to see me (with the file) he only spoke of one thing until I reminded him of the other. I forgot to remind him of the third aspect and he forgot it too. It's like he is only counting the money he is getting from consultation fees while giving the most general solution to every situation.

Well let me focus on the positive note. Mbali the call center Agent on the other hand is like a whole company on her own. Great attitude with willingness to help. It's like she's working for a different organization all together. Unbelievable service she gives. I stay with Fedhealth because she reminds me that I cannot leave Fedhealth without clients because great people like her will suffer. She is able to make people like me feel important in this world filled with fake people who pretend to care when they actually don't. I will forever remember this lady's name. Her standard is just high up there.

The staff is so attentive and always willing to assist, they make sure you don't hang up the call unsatisfied and make sure you understand everything about you Medical Aid option you've chosen.

I tried to call fedhealth on the number provided because I wanted to take out medical aid today with them. the fact that I could not successfully get a hold of the sales department as this is not a option I could easily find tells me that maybe fedhealth is not for me. i am sad about this really wanted to join them.

This is the most unprofessional institution. I have claims for more than 3months & everyday I have to call them & explain everything from scratch but all they do is lie, lie & more lies. There is a lady called Feroza who can lie & promise to sort things out but till today. Fed health medical aid is a scam & don't be fooled for the 1st few claims they are covering.

If there was a ZERO rating I would have selected it. What a USELESS medical aid. After trying to resolve numerous issues and even driving all the way to their Flora walk in centre issues remain unresolved after being promised by Gareth that it has been resolved. USELESS. Any medical aid will be better than Fedhealth so do your homework al look at their reviews.

From an un affordable premium in 2018 that left me in debt plus wouldn't cover some specialist procedures to this ridiculous flexi 1 option. Im sick to death of going to the chemist and being told my membership is suspended! I pay my premiums!! And pay for this stupid vault that is a blatant money scheme. So in fact these flexi options are not to the benefit of the members but to fedhealth. I have a child, what if we are in an emergency?? The lack of compassion, professionalism and administration is disgusting. I'm sick to death of no one replying to my emails, being falsy accused of not paying premiums and no answering the dam phone.

Fedhealth is not a medical aid .
Takes monthly payments off via debit order and when you need them, they make excuses not to pay and turn their backs on the client. Told we are lairs and read the fine print and should have read it . " We pride our self with our service. " What service is that because we received none .We have tried to contact Fedhealth via : Live chat
Customer Service line . What a joke

Can't even get somebody to do our cancellation. One email i sent to get them to cancel ,reply was thanks for taking part in our servey . REALLY .

I have authorisation for a procedure which was done in November 2017. most of the amounts on the invoice has not been paid. I know through experience that an e-mail query is ignored. . I have spent lots of time on the phone and I got lots of explanations and promises. nothing has happened yet

Not happy at all. From the get go I informed them that I have a chronic condition and I accepted the year waiting period for my medication. Almost 2 years later and the only thing that they pay is my contraceptive. I pay the savings amount separate from the normal debit order. I have been paying it so long. I requested that the savings be moved so I can use it. Again I was sent a debit order form to deduct for the same amount that I am already paying and no one is clear on why I need to sign another debit order form if I haven't used any of the savings since last year October. This is ridiculous and now I have to pay for my glasses from my pocket! I have had enough.

If you like automated switchboards with a hundred options before you can speak to a human, then this is the insurance company for you!

After 8 minutes eventually get through to a consultant who gets my details including phone number. We get cut off due to Fed Health's cheap VOIP telephony system. Chances of the consultant calling me back? Zero because obviously it's only an inbound call centre and they can't call out.

My 85 year old Dad has been waiting for his replacement medical aid card for 6 weeks. If they can't get a simple card delivered, how can they offer a medical solution?

My family and I have been a member for a while and we ve been fortunate to have had plenty of positive engagements with our Service Provider. Aside from the benefits (plan) that fits our family s needs, it is refreshing to be able to speak to an actual human regarding any enquiry and not try and engage with a Bot . The Consultants at Fedhealth I have had interactions with, always manages to guide or assist me first time regarding an enquiry.

Keep up the good work Fedhealth. I m big on service delivery, especially paid services/benefits and would like to continue writing about my good experiences with your Company. In fairness, I write equally (long) and bad (service) reviews where requirements weren t met.

It is not worth it to sign up with fedhealth. my account has been suspended on multiple occasions. they refusing to pay out old claims or refund me. they never sort out the problem only pass it on from agent to agent. Save yourself the stress.

When i joined them, they serviced me well. Now deb8t order or direct payment will be made and a week later, still says suspended service. Phone their hopeless call centre especially after 4pm and you hold for like 10 or more minutes on a cellphone imagine, just to be told yes we see debit order went through please call tomorrow as credit div closes at 4pm.
Their new system of glexi, yes it has saved me R200 but its not automatic shift, one must go do this and that to activate choose which flexi etc. I dnt need this.

I'm very happy with the service and cover I receive from Fedhealth. There are many extra's that you get with their Flexifed4 plan (unlimited network GP visits, the option to not be billed automatically for the savings portion - you can pay cash and save if you don't spend; a larger cover of chronic conditions; and they have extra help if you need assistance with mental health, weight management etc). I completely recommend Fedhealth medical aid! Take a careful look at the details when comparing.

This Medical Aid has deteriorated drastically over the past few years. We changed from Discovery to Fedhealth as Disc had become too expensive. Fedhealth has caught up in costs. It has now dropped the Day to Day benefits on a Vault to Wallet system where only the main member can request funds to be moved. This is an unbelievable hassle. So now essentially we have only a hospital plan plus chronic. The amount paid by Fedhealth for chronic meds is not even worth the effort. There is always a massive copayment. On reading reviews by other members I dread to know what will happen if we need hospitalisation! Time to change ASAP!!!!

I am an ex Topmed member and received today a tax certificate only applicable for the 7 months period of Fedhealth's take-over. I phoned to find out where I could get the 5 months of the Topmed cover. The call centre goes through countless ( ! ! !) options none of which permitted me to talk to a human being. This needs serious revision Fedhealth !

Dealing with South Africa's Home Affairs department is less painful and frustrating than Fedhealth's help desk.

Until recently we were proud Fedhealth members after we received excellent assistance and support during my wife's cancer ordeal. One of the considerations that made our mid sized company stay with Fedhealth was the benefits and support my family received .

That all changed in the last year, our company changed it's medical aid and we stayed at Fedhealth, it was a big mistake. Fedhealth changed, Dr Jekyll Healthcare changed into Mr. Hyde

Fedhealth is now deliberately making it impossible for medical professionals and patients to deal with them. It is not only one professional. Our GP, dentist, neurologist, pharmacist and oncologist all share our pain.

At the moment my family's only option is to go to Fedhealth's head office and demand help. The irony is that we only want the service we are paying for and entitled to according to our latest Fedhealth contract.

Great experience so far on Flexifed1. Claims paid efficiently with constant communication of the process. I love the medivault idea, it makes sense. No problem with my son Chronic meds & their maternity program has great benefits&goodies. 24hr wellness program is always available when you need some1 to listen..We now on the benefit maximizer & it works... Just have to read your plan in and out and understand every detail. I strongly recommend it..

I have had no luck in speaking to your agents or your call center agents.

I have requested to be assisted in registering for the family room but I receive no response. I was previously registered but for some reason I can't log in anymore.

This is the 6th time now ... so I sincerely hope that I get a response.

I have spoken to many agents and these are the resolutions they have given me:

1. Re-register online and an email will be sent
2. The system is overloaded, please try again in 24 hours
3. The system is overloaded, please try again in 24 hours
4. I have reset your account, please try and register again in 24 hours'
5. The system is overloaded, please try again in 24 hours

None of the above works, I do not receive the email and my details are correct!!!!

Really? I am sure that your system is not constantly overloaded.

I have previously received such great service from Fedhealth but I have actually stopped referring people to your medical aid and contemplating moving to another medical aid myself.

If I do not get a resolution to my query ... for the 6th time. I am definitely reverting to HelloPeter and I am taking my business elsewhere!

I ve read very ugly comments and all about FedHealth and was honestly skeptical wondering if I should go with FedHealth or not and eventually I went on with it and so far I have never had a problem with FedHealth, though sometimes it takes a while to get through to call centre but I m happy with the service... Should it happen that I need assistance from you guys in the long run or I come across a serious medical problem I m hoping to still get the best service like I have now... otherwise like I said I m happy this far. and yes m...your call centre agents are They always take time to explain each and everything that I hardly understand they also patient and very friendly, keep it up guys.

My medical scheme was terminated due to non paymen...

My medical scheme was terminated due to non payment of monthly premiums due to Covid 19. I received no notification from Fedhealth with regards to any financial assistance. Yet my acoount has been debited resulting in bank fees accrued for debit order returns. Again, on the 1st Sept my account was debited for 3 months. Totaly unacceptable from a company such as Fedhealth. Absolute disgrace.

I am sorry to say that I am deeply upset with both Topmed and Fedhealth. I was completely happy with Topmed however with the recent amalgamation I feel that I am being penelized!
They said the flexi plan was the same as my plan with Topmed but it is not. They have told me that they will not pay for my chronic medication going FORWARD? They cannot really give me a straight answer about which plan I should on? Tonight I got an email to say I must pay them? What about ethics? I am so unimpressed...

Worst Medical aid ever. We were happy clients of Topmed until they announced that Topmed and Fedhealth were to merge. These medical aids have spoiled my whole pregnancy and put my pregnancy at risk due to too much stess. If I could have give a zero Star I would have. Pathetic client service. They are only good at empty promises. I cannot wait to cancel my medical aid and move to a medical aid that is worth of my money. Please stay away from there medical aids.
