I've been a member of this scheme for 15 years - trust me: DON'T SIGN UP.

If I didn't have exclusions imposed on me by other medical aids, I'd cancel immediately.

They simply don't care about us, their paying clients and members.

After two weeks, ten emails I receive no response to, and countless calls of an hour or more per call, I'm about to get in my car, drive over to Fedhealth's headoffice and camp outside the CEOs office until I get some form of intelligent service - their call centre staff from the frontline to the senior managers have no idea what they are doing - everything is escalated and nothing is resolved.

They also don't care - their job is to take a call, not to help someone in need. It is very sad.

1) I have a particular type of cancer but, instead of allocating my treatment and medication to my oncology benefit, they take it out of my savings...I then go to get my medication and am told I don't have anything in my account - every year, for my entire time with them.

2) Even though there are contracts in place, Fedhealth accuse my doctors and specialists of overcharging. When queried, Fedhealth then change the excuses - making me and the treating physicians run around in circles.

3) They call their approach "self-service" and "client / customer control" but we have no control and we are treated like we owe them something when we call them.

Don't walk, RUN away!
