Really bad experience at this place I went in yesterday for a pain that is not normal since iam pregnant instead of understanding the midwife that attended me was not nice and very rude and got mad at me why did I went in. Then she said its normal and didn't had an explanation of why is the pain and told me to take Tylenol and told her that it dosnt work on me and it don't do nothing but she didn't care and told me if I wanted to take it so I just grab one and told me take three and go home.I don't recommend this place to no one they dont care about you.

I went here because Kaiser doesn't have any coverage for urgent care facilities (switching back to United next month, Kaiser is sucks) due to having another round of Strep throat.

When admitted, I was asked if I had any allergies to medications. I explained I was allergic to penicillin, and watched the intake technician type that in.

About 30 minutes later I was finally in a "room," which was just a corner of a larger room with a curtain around it. The PA that came in asked if I had "won the game." That was confusing, but apparently I was where a guy who had been hit in a baseball game was supposed to be, and he was where I was supposed to be. After he examined me, he left. When he came back he offered me a shot instead of a ZPak. I was confused, no one has EVER offered me a shot for strep. So I asked what was in the shot. You know what he said? "Penicillin."

Penicillin. That wonderful miracle antibiotic that I'm ALLERGIC TO. If I hadn't asked what was in that shot, I would have been extremely sick, if not dead. All because he couldn't be bothered to read my chart.

When I walked into St. Joseph's with a seemingly non-urgent issue, staff was still quick to great me and get me back to be seen. Every employee, even the lab technicians and room service team, is kind, smiling, and concerned with how your treatment progresses.

I was hospitalized after they found out what I thought was a small issue was really a life threatening issue. Been here a few days so far and have recived the best treatment I have ever had at a hospital. I would like to mention Dr. Cappa (sp?) from the overnight ER, his residents, Savanah and Sara from the Oncology department as outstanding staff member's!

Took my 18 month old son to ER over the weekend. The staff was extremely non-attentive given the reason why we were there. Never going back. Take your child to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children a block away. I did not realize the children's hospital was so close or I would have taken my son there. I am just thankful my son is OK, no thanks to the staff at St. Joe's. I could have stayed home and it would have been the same outcome.

My daughter has been having reoccurring issues with some kind of infection, she is sitting now in er, sent by her pcp and surgeon and the hospital has been told to admit her, they are however arguing saying she has no infection. Now I thought this is common sense, if you are on antibiotics a blood culture or wbc will not be accurate. They are saying it isn't showing anything yet she keeps getting stomach pain, right abdominal pain, reoccurring strept, now I know everyone there isn't brainless - someone with a brain should take care of my daughter thank you!
I was born there, if this was going on then I would have crawled out of the womb and ran to Colorado General thank you!

Had hernia surgery here in early 2019 and they did a great job. Had to ask plenty of times for pain medication which was concerning but they took care of me eventually. Went there for a covid test in March of 2020 and they wouldn't test me and told me I didn't have enough symptoms. I was told I likely have covid and I'm sure I did but why was I refused testing?
Went there 10 days ago for a toe injury and was told I had a sprained toe and told to take some Tylenol. I'm not gonna drive across town to sit in an emergency room over a sprain. I know I have a serious injury. I was sent out the door without appropriate care. Mixed reviews I guess. I'm not a doctor but I don't like my opinion about my body being completely disregarded. I'm currently in pain so decided to leave a review and continue to suffer from a legitimate injury that was passed off as something very minor. Staff is always very nice and the place is very clean.

8/20 edit.
Due to uselessness of MyChart -unable to see which doctor you consulted with last and what offices listed past doctors on your account are from - I can't follow up on my last visit and downgrading their service to 1 star. I'm not waiting in the lobby of the er for hours again for them to misdiagnose my injury again. After over 2 weeks I would give my level of pain a solid 7 all day long and it has gotten worse. Every step I take is painful. I can't say who does care about that but I know exactly who doesn't. I will be finding a new option for urgent care going forward and telling anyone I know to reconsider going to it Joe's for any reason.

This hospital is a joke! I was forced against my will by Stadium Medical to go to St. Joseph Hospital. I was tortured in the ambulance provided by Stadium Medical's staff. I came into the hospital with cuts and bruises all over my body and the staff gave me too much medicine in the ambulance and no one at St. Joseph asked me what happened to me. Stadium Medical also falsified my medical records and lied to the medical staff at St. Joseph about my condition. Instead listening to the patient, they made my situation worse. When I received my medical bill they had the wrong doctor. They said I saw a female when I know I saw a male and my boyfriend confirmed. I'm now over $5,000 in the hole because of this whole situation. On top of that, the male doctor I spoke too told me I never needed to come to the hospital and released me with only being there 15 minutes. I had no blood work done, no testing, no medication, etc. at the hospital and had to pay that much. Billing is a joke. Rude and hateful! Stay away from this hospital as much as possible! Greedy and shady!

Literally the only good thing about this place is the attractive Texan triage nurse and Hannah in the ER. The facility is dirty, the staff lacks urgency and is rude and inattentive. In addition to the plethora of issues, the wait time is absolutely absurd. I sat in the waiting room for over 5 hours with the same IV in, backing up. The doctor who saw me spent less than 5 minutes talking to and observing me , didn t even tell me his name. Several other patients have been ignored by hospital staff and instructed not to speak to nurses. They wouldn t even give me a note for work or school saying I was there. What the hell kind of emergency room is this?! If you actually value your life & the way it s cared for, I can not recommend this hospital. If you are enduring a serious life-threatening issue, go somewhere else!!

Brought my girlfriend here when I found her passed out at home. Was told to wait while people with little wrong were put ahead. I loudly complained that she wasn t getting taken seriously a male nurse then attempted to intimidate me by aggressively getting inches from my face and when it didn t act frightened of his aggressive attitude and told him to go do your job . He then kicked me out of the ER. I then went to the Admin office which eventually had me escorted out by an excessive amount of security. They would not let me speak to her on the phone for hours. She said they wouldn t tell her what was going on with me. She was scared and alone in the ER. I cant believe the way we were treated here. Take my advice go anywhere but here.

My mom went to the ER because she wasn t feeling well fast forward 4 hours later. I walked in to hand my mom her phone the lady sitting at the Er desk was yelling at my mom! Yes yelling. You just don t want to listen huh and other stuff. My mom simply wanted to leave because she was there waiting for 4 hours desperate to receive care. I saw no one else waiting! Of course they told her there weren t any beds but my mom said she would see people go in and out. So much for working at a hospital, where are their values? Are they taught to yell at patients?

I'm kinda upset, I wanted to get an x-ray of my head because I get pain that comes and goes, that or a cat-scan. Any way I was sent to a room you might as well call it a fast room because those rooms are there to get people in and out fast. I mean they could of at least took blood. Doc just looked me up and down basicly said you're good to go home. Lazy doctors and nurses are no good. You make good money, why not do your job?

Like most of the poor reviews on here doctors ok, but sales, billing, etc is worse than talking to a brick wall. At least expectations are set with a brick wall, these people/their systems are frustratingly and mind-blowingly incompetent based on my experience. Our delivery went well, but almost two years later and we're still not settled. Charges upon charges and I just want to know WHAT I'm paying for, HOW MUCH, and WHY, pretty simple right? I finally had Kaiser handle the billing issue with them (they had tried to charge us twice as much on our deductible as Kaiser allowed). Thought everything was fixed until 6-9 months later when I got a letter from a collection agency. If we have more children, I will avoid this place like the plague if I can help it.

I went to St Josephs Hospital in Denver a few days...

I went to St Josephs Hospital in Denver a few days ago for what I believed to be a serious infection. I was experiencing tremendous pain in my ears, throat and sinuses, basically unable to talk normally and was admitted for treatment. I spent 3 hours in the hospital, and eventually Dr. Glaser who saw me spent 5 minutes asking about my symptoms which he eventually interrupted, saying I only had a cold. He ordered an x-ray to rule out pneumonia, which I knew I did not have, but he did
not examine my throat, ears or acknowledge the possibility of an infection which is normally treated with antibiotics. I asked about cough medicine with codeine, as my coughing at night was making it difficult to sleep, and while he acknowledged codeine is effective, he did not prescribe any medications, giving me a sarcastic wink that I "only have a cold". The next day I had no hearing in my left ear and my pain throughout my body, and particularly in my throat and ears worsened. I could not sleep due to violent coughing. I got my regular practitioner to prescribe the codeine cough medicine and antibiotics and 24 hours later feel about 15% better. I feel Dr Glaser violated the first rule of medicine "Do no harm", by ignoring my symptoms and essentially providing no treatment whatsoever for my acute condition. I am not paying one cent for any bills I may receive for this gross negligence. The staff was courteous and professional as you'd expect from any business out to make money on it's customers/patients.

This hospital saved my life after Rose Medical Center dismissed my chest pain and inability to breathe as an anxiety attack or attempt to try to get "drugs" and told me to go home without a doctor examining me. Saint Joseph's experienced team immediately took me into the ER, no wait & found out I had pulmonary embolisms that I was dying from. Admitted to the hospital where they not only monitored me 24/7 on an EKG, gave me blood thinners and oxygen, but also ran an extra MRI where they picked up abnormal growths on my liver that will be monitored for cancer. Thank you Saint Joesph's, I would not be alive today if it weren't for your speedy care and experienced doctors.

I drove myself to the ER because my security earpiece got stuck in my ear at work. I had literally two minutes of face time with the doctor where he looked in my ear, saw the earpiece and removed it with tweezers.

After insurance was factored in, I payed $200 out of pocket at the time of the visit then received a $2,000 bill in the mail a month later. This is highway robbery. This cost more than my wife's 7 hour delivery and 2 night stay at a hospital in Fort Collins. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

I just started the process to contest the absurd, and almost comical over priced service. Hopefully I can get this reduced to a somewhat ethical and reasonable amount of money for services rendered.

A genuine question for the billing department; at what point when you are calculating hospital costs can it seem ethical or even reasonable to charge $2,200 for a 2 minute visit to the ER with no ambulance ride, medications rendered, or surgical procedures performed?

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! IT MAY COST YOU YOUR FIRST BORN CHILD FOR AN ACTUAL PROCEDURE!

I had my second daughter here and it was a pretty bad experience. I would give them fewer stars, but I was reasonably impressed with how they handled things afterward. Two things that were the worst (although many others were not great): First, the doctor broke my water without asking me first which really ticked me off. Then later the nurses wouldn't believe me when I said I was ready to push. They kept telling me the baby would be born after their shift change. Excuse me? Babies don't care about your shift change.

Then they have a policy of waking you every 1 to 2 hours all night long. Apparently the doctor came to check on my during one of the only 15 minute stretches of sleep I got and they didn't wake me up. So I had no follow up until 6 weeks after the baby was born (a Kaiser policy). Since they don't provide birth notes or records to your provider, I had a time trying to figure out why things went so wrong.

I filed a complaint against the doctor who broke my water and received follow-up that she had been spoken to. I was pleasantly surprised by that although I don't know if it will make a difference. Then after literally hours on the phone, I was able to talk to the patient manager or something like that who was able to get the medical notes and go over them with me to try to understand why some issues and the baby's status at birth. That was very helpful, but it seems like that should be routine not something you have to work so hard for.

Took my 9yr old in to E.R complaining about abdominal pain, nurse and med assistant were very friendly but when the Dr came in he ruled out appendicitis and suggested NOT doing any further testing. She had advil previously and was feeling a bit of relief while he pressed on her belly next day she was still in alot of pain and made an appointment at clinic turned out to be bacterial infection in her throat that was giving her abdominal pain. Will never go in to St. Josephs again.

I also had a HORRIBLE experience with the financial staff. The doctors seem fine, but they don't inform you of costs. I was advised to get an injection in my knee, and I assumed it would be the same cost as a cortisone injection I had earlier. WRONG! I got the bill, and the injection was 4 times as much $1300. When I told the finance department that I was not informed this injection would be so costly, I was readily dismissed. Actually, I was told they would review it, which they did, but to no avail. They do NOT care about the patient/customer; they only care about making money. My advice: If you can get health insurance elsewhere, do.

Horrible experience. I walked into the hospital a...

Horrible experience. I walked into the hospital and left in a wheelchair unable to walk!

Starting on July 13, 2019,

I was dragged out of my hospital bed with a fractured vertebrae and put into a wheelchair with no foot support, so I had to hold my legs in the air with my painfully broken back, and wheeled down the hall to another room because they thought I had a weapon (which I did not). The entire time I was screaming and crying in excruciating pain while begging them to stop hurting me. I was not a threat, I could not even stand or sit up in bed. I did not threaten anyone or raise my voice. I asked for my meds and got security saying I had a weapon and suffered through this experience instead. After that I was scared for my life and told I would have to remain in the hospital for 6 weeks still. I was trapped and felt like a hostage captive by my torturers.

Dr. Rivkin was exceptionally terrible and denied me, along with with failing to mention or discuss with me, any alternative care for my infection. There is a traditional and medically accepted alternative that I researched myself and was denied by the staff here, although they normally offer it, and I eventually recieved it only after escaping their prison and visiting my primary care physician, who they said knew I was in St. Joe's but actually did not, and he prescribed the infusions I so desperately needed.

The staff here also LIED to my family in Florida telling then I had a heart infection, which is almost as good as a death sentence, prompting my mom and sister to fly out to Colorado to see me within a few days time as it could be their last chance to see me.

I was treated like I was less than human and do not understand how they can sleep at night knowing full well what they did to me.

Dr. Rivkin should not be allowed to practice medicine. She violated the oath she took when she started practicing medicine.

Even our enemies in war are required to be treated better as per the Geneva Convention.

I have been told by nearly all my doctors in the past that I have a high pain threshold, but no one could endure what I went through without coming out of it scared to even see a doctor ever again for so much as a routine checkup.

Here is the kicker:

After the doctors tried to double my oxycodone dosage at one point. I told them I did not want an opiate addiction when I left the hospital and I wanted to deal with a certain amount of pain and decrease my dosages. Their response was that they denied me any pain meds after that at all with my fractured vertebrae painfully healing and labeled me an opiate addict. How do you figure that makes sense? They then called me a drug seeking addict anytime I was in pain and requested meds further denying me the same meds they tried to double in dosage for me the day before. I have never had an opiate addiction. I was not seeking drugs, just help.

Thankfully I escaped and found the help I needed. It is now a little over a year later and my back fully healed with the infection eating away a disc and two of the bones in my spine fused together without surgery or any assistance from this torture chamber loosely called a hospital. I am back on my skateboard, riding a supersport motorcycle, running, jumping, and playing basketball no thanks to St. Joseph's House of Horrors.

One final note, the patient advocate their was very nice though a little absent, and a special thanks to one nurse who works their that was the only one in scrubs or a lab jacket that was nice to me and wheeled me out. I do not want to attach her name to this rant, but if she sees this I just want to say I have not forgotten you. Thank you. You are the only good thing that hospital had to offer me.

Had the best experience yet in hospital here. The staff from beginning to end went above and beyond to assist me with my injury. I had initially thought I had a bad sprain from snowboarding and thought I could tough it out through the night without seeing a doctor. The pain grew so unbearable I went to the ER. Dr. Dearstyne got to me very quickly and after asking a few questions, observed my level of pain (I was literally shaking in pain) and provided me adequate pain relievers and swelling reducers. I nearly teared up when she did this for me so quickly. All of the staff were very kind and had great senses of humor and made my visit enjoyable during such pain. The financing department also greatly worked with me given my financial status. I am forever grateful for their help and hope the highest management receives my feedback.

I had surgery here and then stayed 2 nights in post-op recovery unit. Didn't really have a choice where to go, since this is where my surgeon assigned by Kaiser-Permanente does his thing. No regrets though - the level of care and attention was fine, the nursing staff are all good and attentive, rooms were comfortable. Food was not bad - try the omelettes for breakfast. The PACU room I was in had plenty of space for visitors - my wife was able to stay overnight. No complaints, other than that this is a long commute from home (Boulder), but that's what you get with a Kaiser Permanente plan.

I waited over 2 hours in the Emergency room waiting area without being seen. There were 8 people after me & everyone was assigned a room but me. I asked why was I the last one without a bed. The staff said everyone gets evaluated & based on what they need, they go back first. So first one here rule dont apply even though I'm in so much pain & in tears!! Been here many times and not once have I ever WAITED more than 2 hours to be seen!!

I am not sure if this place may receive an HCAP from a visitor or not. I do not feel I should review on behalf of another. 5+ s, please. Thank you to J&J (not to be confused with Johnson & Johnson-although I've seen a pic of a pretty mom with white teeth who may work with the second J&J I mentioned) for starters . Thank you each VERY much . I hope you realize how important you are along with the specialist who came by. Please convey such thanks to the whole multidisciplinary team you have. Thank you. From the time you walk in past the organized valet; you may inquire at the desk shall you need. I chose to merge right for my first stop past the cute gift shop. This place is relaxing and clean in a peaceful, pretty part of downtown.

Had a great day at the hospital today! My
surgery went well and I was in and out very quickly! The nurses were excellent and my surgeon and anesthesiologist were great. They all seemed happy and knowledgeable I am new to the area and didn't have my family to stay with me but they made me feel welcome and entertained. I definitely am not a fan of registration and accounting people. The lady who had me sign my waivers and bills was very awkward and annoying. The last thing I want to do right before my surgery is be hassled about putting a down payment on a procedure your going to hassle me about every waking minute for the next couple months. Plus her social skills was quite horrible. Didn't even say "good luck" or any words of encouragement. The second I explained I didn't have a card to pay she instantly became dissatisfied. I still gave this place 5 stars because of everyone else though. I just don't see it as being professional, especially with a great insurance plan to be hassling a person, about to undergo surgery, for money.... how about I make it through ok and then we can talk money, but that's what u get with our lovely health care system. Thank you nurses and doctors for everything! Maybe the accounting and payment people could learn some social skills from the professionals making them a fortune

I gave this place 2 stars because not everyone working here is lazy, uncaring, and rude. Blood left on an elevator floor for over 8 hours when staff had been notified 3 times. CNAs running amuck on a step down ward. Staff not bothering to check on a newly transfered patient from ICU for over 3 hours, nasty comments being made about patients on nurses communication boards. And case worker that can't be bothered to do their jobs. Then when you ask for a patient advicote you are declined. Great, what's wrong with this picture. Go to St Joe's to die. They won't even notice.

2 1/2 hour wait in the Emergency ("and in the Fast Track" section none the less....). At first, it seemed like it would be quick, but really they just moved us from one waiting room to another. 4 nurses came in to ask the EXACT same questions, tell us a doctor will be in "soon", then more waiting, and really no one during the last hour or so. No real communication. No sense of urgency or any desire to actually help us from any one there (I didn't see many patients, but I'm sure they were busy)
PA finally comes in, after we complain. She was nice enough, but I think that was partly because we complained. 5 min exam, stitches, a band-aide and a tetanus shot.

Leaving this review because of a similar wait experience a couple months back with our mom, but didn't think to post anything at that time.

But we're stuck going here for emergencies and urgent care because of our healthcare coverage.... Just feels like there has to be a better (more efficient) way

Exasperating experiences overall

If I could give St Joseph's no stars, I would. I cannot believe this place is even considered somewhat decent by some people. Don't really know what rude action to begin with.
This place offers classes and events you can attend to prior to you ever being admitted to the hospital. Being a first time mom with tons of questions, I went to them hoping to have all my concerns taken care of. I attended a class called Baby Business, which addresses more of the registering, insurance, and billing aspects of the tour. So after all this, I filled everything out and thought, "ok, this should take care of everything ahead of time." I was SO WRONG!
I went in because of an emergency related to my pregnancy and the minute I got to the labor and delivery floor, I knew what a mistake I made. The person at the front desk couldn't find any info on me despite the fact that I had turned everything in weeks in advance. She almost admitted me under a totally different name. So there I was in pain and filling out the exact same stuff I did weeks before. She told me she couldn't find who my OB was or what place I belonged to. Anyways, after 20 minutes or so I was finally admitted to their TRIAGE room and immidiately the nurse I had was very rude. She didn't care at all if I was in pain she didn't even give me a wrist band so when the doctor came in they had no idea who I was. After checking me and all, the rude nurse came back and told me that for some reason I couldn't deliver there. This infuriated me because I had spent week after week coming to this joke of a hospital and their classes and not one of them was able to address this issue with me then?? To top it all off, the doctors never gave me an explination as to what was wrong with me or even a summary of my visit. The nurse and doctors all left before I could even ask a simple question: Am I ok?
The enire staff made me feel unwelcomed and like I didn't matter to say the least. The only good thing about that visit was that it made me realize that I will NOT have my baby there. In the words of another reviewer before me, "I really think I could have better medical attention in a Nazi concentration camp."

We were in the city visiting and my husband came down with a fever. The only bad thing about being sick is when you are in another city and you re trying to figure out where to go and what to do. We went to St Joseph s ER and from the moment we walked in they were really fabulous. They took the time to listen to us. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Even my husband (who was pretty sick) said how nice they were. And the place was really clean. Unfortunately we have been in a lot of hospitals and this was the best experience we have had. Many thanks to Dan our nurse and Dr Adams our doctor.

I have poly cystic ovaries. Been dealingwith this for years. So i go in cause I'm in EXTREME pain. They do an ultra sound and find two cysts, one of which is bleeding...So,they KNOW I'm in pain. They sent me home with nothing. They always give lame excuses
I understand about the "EPIDEMIC" but do you understand MY pain??? I've read countless stories about ppl of color being treated different but this is ridiculous. I also KNOW you all will NEVER admit that. Here's some news for ya... we colored ppl...feel pain too. Whether y'all believe it or not. My hubby also had MAJOR surgery. They gave him 25 oxycodone to go home with and his other Dr FLAT OUT REFUSED to give him his other pain meds.
Shame on YOU ALL!!! I could go on with great examples of how I KNOW we're not treated the same as others, but maybe a real review and other eyes seeing this...maybe y'all will get it together
I mean...look at the reviews. Look who says "Great service" and those who say otherwise...
Proofs in the pudding

I had such a great experience in this hospital. I had surgery for a broken leg earlier this summer and had to stay overnight. The recovery floor was clean, inviting, and quiet. All of the nurses were absolutely wonderful. So accommodating and caring. The food was actually pretty good too! The hospital is very aesthetically pleasing and we appreciated the free valet parking. Absolutely would recommend Saint Joseph's for surgery!

This is my second time coming to Saint Joseph lab ...

This is my second time coming to Saint Joseph lab department. The first time, I signed in and waited and waited. I asked the lady sitting at her desk how long it would be and she just looked at me so I left, I didn t have time to wait and be ignored.

Today I came in and again same lady still rude. I signed in as did others, she walked over and yelled out our names saying we need to put a birthdate in the sign in area.

Honestly if it was more clear, maybe a sign on the empty wall (In Spanish and English) and a smile on her face would make this easier. We all just looked at each other, the other patients did not understand due to a language difference so they just watched what I did.

I gave birth to my first child at St. Joseph s Hos...

I gave birth to my first child at St. Joseph s Hospital in February 2017 and had a harrowing experience during labor and delivery and when being readmitted through the Emergency Department. This review will focus on those two aspects of the hospital. I had my second child at Rose Hospital and had a much better experience. Some elements of my experience are described below.

TL; DR: More than two years later, I am still in physical therapy due to a birth injury I received at this hospital. I was also sent home with postpartum preeclampsia and then had to be readmitted through the ED, but only after waiting for 7 hours with severe-range blood pressures.

1. Obstetric Violence -- An episiotomy was performed on me WITHOUT MY CONSENT with no efforts to reduce tearing. I suffered a 4th degree laceration as a result of this procedure and experience ongoing issues from this injury even several years later. My baby was born vigorous with all normal readings.

2. Chaotic Delivery Room -- no one was in charge in the delivery room. Nurses and doctors were all yelling at each other and yelling at me. Critical diagnostic tests (including checking my urine for protein) and vitals (including taking my weight) were not performed or recorded.

3. Poor Communication -- I experienced poor communication with nurses, residents and attendings who often provided conflicting information. No one reviewed my birth plan, which had included a desire not to have an episiotomy.

4. Lack of Adequate Supervision of Residents -- Critical procedures were attempted only by residents. When the resident rounded and I had questions, she provided inaccurate information.

5. Inability to Get Supplemental Food for Baby -- St. Joe s is a baby friendly hospital, but this protocol has been implemented in a way that disempowers families. My child was born small for gestational age and very hungry. I had a traumatic delivery and so my milk supply was both reduced and delayed. We continually asked to get supplemental food and were denied. He lost weight rapidly. It was not until he had lost 12% of his body weight that it was treated as an emergency and the nurses threatened to take him to the NICU.

6. Very Poor Service and Hygiene in the Emergency Department -- I returned to the hospital with severe postpartum preeclampsia 4 days postpartum. I waited 7 hours to be treated and even then, the attending in the emergency room did not call OB until I asked him to do so. There were also poor hygiene practices in the emergency room. A man was vomiting profusely, and the staff took his vitals -- including blood pressure and pulse ox (on his finger) and then took mine, without cleaning the equipment.

7. Poor Documentation -- The fact that I had a hypertensive event during delivery was not clearly marked on my records. Therefore, when I returned to the ED with severe range blood pressures 4 days postpartum, they did not immediately see that I had been hypertensive during delivery.

8. Inability to Get Food for Moms 24 Hours -- Food is not available for patients at all hours. When I was readmitted in the middle of the night after waiting in the ED for 7 hours, I was hungry, but there was no ability to get food to the room.

9. Not Offered Supplies or Care to Room with Infant when Readmitted 4 days Postpartum -- When I was readmitted for severe pre-eclampsia 4 days postpartum, I was not offered a bassinet or diapers or wipes for my 4-day old infant. After several requests and waiting for hours, we were provided with a bassinet so we could sleep. However, I was unable to get a boppy to support the baby while breastfeeding until a new nurse started during the day shift. Further, our infant had been losing weight rapidly and was therefore scheduled for daily checks at home. However, once we were back in the hospital, no one would check the infant. My partner had to find the baby scale in the room, google the user manual, and track the baby s weight himself.

Extremely long emergency room wait time when they weren't that busy. Come here if you like LONG walks by the beach pictures and someone to grow old with while you wait to be seen. Other than service time, quality is okay.

The cafe is dirty and the staff is rude. The pizza was hard and old. The soup was dry with no liquid. I asked when the grill would open for a cheese burger and the staff was so rude stating they didn't have enough staff and there was nothing they could do about it. I won't be spending my money there.

Most fantastic experience for both my wife and myself. My wife accidently stabbed herself in the foot. When we arrived at ER we had valet take our car and bring us a wheel chair. At the ER desk, we were processed quickly and taken into fast track. All the nurses, doctors, radioligists and every other staff member involved; have our upmost respect for the fantastic manner in which they conducted themselves..their sense of humor & professionalism shown and given to us at such a hectic time in ER was outstanding!

Along with the state of the art equipment used, our 5 hour visit was not only comfortable but uplifting..and to a person in drastic pain, this means alot. You all (really) need to know we appreciated our time there and you all need to know just how fantastic each & everyone of you are!

Thank you to you all from both myself & my (Aussie) wife Kathey.
Thank You Dr. M Scheider & team!
God bless you all.

Bait and switch. They charge a facility fee and a separate radiology fee for a "free" mammogram at the breast care center. This isn't mentioned when you go in, and insurance won't cover it. Bonus, they're harassing me by phone, email and snail mail demanding payment for bills "due" less than 1 pay period after the service. Techs and people were nice, but will never go there again. Not sure if they have the same scam going with the mammography van.

They re too busy to allow family members reach eld...

They re too busy to allow family members reach elderly patients by phone. I live in another city. I learned from my mom s elder care residence that she d been taken to St. Joseph s. I had to call 5 times throughout the day before they could connect me to the phone in her room. The first three times, I was connected to the nurse station by her room and twice connected with the wrong room. The third time, I was asked to call back later and told I should ask the operator to stay on the line when I called back to make sure I got connected. Due to work, I wasn t able to call back for several hours. I told the operator about the issues in the morning and asked her to stay on the line. The operator refused and said it was up to the nurses. When the phone rang through, my call was cut off. I called again, reached the same operator, said we re now up to call number five , and said it would be nice if she d stay on the line so I didn t have to run the phone maze again. She snapped, this is a busy hospital and sent my call through. Happily, I got a friendly nurse on the phone and got to talk to my mom after a day of worrying. I ve had relatives in busy hospitals before, but never had so much trouble reaching them by phone. I take them at their word that they re too busy to care about that.

I was born at this hospital smh this is pretty disappointing how bad the service is. Kaiser has also declined in service as well. I ve been here for just about an hour in the ER and twice they ve given my room away to someone else. I understand people are dealing with issues but so am I. Reason I m there in the first place. They kept me in the waiting with an IV sticking out my arm

This pics are the only good thing on this hospital ER, they do not follow HIPPA laws, and they flat out lie about it. So if you re sick, avoid this ER, they ll diagnose you the same way Neanderthals did, if your ins gives you this one, change it before they do it to you or your family. They have of Drs. what I have of astronaut. A Vet does more for their patients than this frauds. That was my first time here and the last one. If you file a complaint they ll cover each others back, because just the HIPPA violation it s a $50k fine....

Pretty much the worse hospital experience I have e...

Pretty much the worse hospital experience I have ever had. Before checking out, they had someone come and speak to me about follow up care. I suppose she was a social working, I am not entirely sure. The woman, came in to the room and asked me "Why didn't you go to your hospital?" in a very snooty tone that felt like she meant to say -- you are a veteran, so why waste my time?

And, why I have to teach someone who works in a hospital about the status of EMERGENCY ROOMS is beyond me. You see, the VA hospital DOESN'T HAVE AN EMERGENCY ROOM. They have their inbound ER patients routed through "Rose".

I am not very sure why a hospital would employ someone to speak about follow up care, if they treat people like trash.

When I finally checked out, after receiving no help from her on aftercare, whoever the person was I walked over to the bus stop where one other person was released just a few minutes before I was. While waiting for the bus that heads into Denver, the other person they had released from the ER had extremely yellow skin, yellow eyes, and was carrying an extra large sized bottle of Listerine that they gave back to him when they released him into the blistering cold of Denver. They gave him a one way ticket to go die as far away from them as possible. Denver has some real lousy places: Samaritan House, Step 13, Denver Cares, the hospitals.

MONEY PIGS. I always stayed in the waiting area when I took my Mom to her respiratory Doc. Today I went in with her...have you ever been so mad you wanted to cry? I asked the DOCTOR "should she get on an exercise program to help her condition?". I received an answer that made me trust America's Medical System as much as a loan shark. He said "we need more tests bc (a bunch of medical jargon that I don't understand bc I'm NOT a Doctor nor ever claimed to be) so we will see". Her BMI is 42 (morbidly obese). But he gave her a new prescription! If you came in with a bullet wound this place would prescribe you Xanax to deal with it instead of fix it. I'm glad my Mothers suffering helps make his house payment every month. I work construction and if someone asks me to fix their kitchen I do, I don't just wall it off so they cant see the problem. Google Hippocratic Oath and Osteopathic Oath and give it to any Doc here so you can atleast get the confetti back when they are done with it. :,(

Their billing system sucks! They use SCL health . . .I can't get them on the phone, and I don't have time to be on hold for a half hour at a time. . The actual hospital can't give any info about the cost of services before they perform them. Wish I could run my business like that. How immoral!!!! I can't even get any info on the cost of my ER visit 3 weeks ago. I wish I would have just taped up my finger after putting it through a table saw.

-Dear St Joes Valet,

-Dear St Joes Valet,

On October 3rd my husband and I left our car in your care so we could deliver our sweet baby boy. We were beyond excited. He arrived, but I had preeclampsia and we had to remain in the hospital for an extra 3 days. Then, it was time to go home! With no sleep, a fragile body, and so many emotions we loaded our new family into his Truck that your team had in your care only to find you had stolen our breast pump along with small items that were in My husbands truck. I started crying. Not for me, but for my son. He was only 5 days old and someone had already stolen something from him. He needed that pump so he could be fed. He had lost quite a bit of weight in the hospital and we were put on an immediate feeding plan that required me to pump frequently. I was crushed. Instead of going home with our new son we had to stop and buy a new pump, boil all the parts again to clean them, and figure out if we could find our first pump. We filed a police report and video surveillance confirmed the truck was not touched outside the time it was in valet s care. I think back often to that day and wonder if you knew it was a breast pump. Did you need it for your own family? Did you know you could sell it? Or were you just hoping it was something valuable and took it? Doesn t matter now. My son is 4 months old and well fed. The one thing I can t let go of is the thought of another family going through this experience. Delivering a baby is exhausting and thinking that you are stealing from these families while they are in the hospital breaks my heart. I often wonder what kind of person you are to steal from a baby. Maybe you haven t thought about what you are doing at all. I just ask that you reflect on this and the pain you have caused others and think on a human level before your grab something out of a hospital patient s vehicle. Also if you read this and want to make it right, please Donate that breast pump or one you BUY to a family that truly needs it.

-Katie
