Been with them at two different properties and they have charged me for carpet replacement at one and hid the mold problem at the other. I haven't received a bill or itemized list or deposit from either one!!

Dobler management is the worst management I've ever had. I went through 2 property managers in about 2 months. One was fired, the other quit. They didn't contact me about my final walk through. And said I was suppose to contact someone.. when there's no new property manager?? Military definitely STAY AWAY.
I was eager to rent since they had such low prices and I'm a first time renter. The building was close to everything and the apartment itself looked great. MANAGEMENT WAS AWFUL. There was no contact whatsoever and I was always left in the dark. Payments were returned without explanation and we had done everything we needed to move-in. We decided to cancel the process since our applications hadn't even been accepted yet and moved elsewhere. I've been trying to keep in touch with them for almost a month now and I've gotten MAYBE 6 emails from them. Don't even try to rent here. Not worth the stress.
When a company invests in its properties (improvements, maintenance, grounds keeping, etc.), the people that serve tenants, and in the management process itself, it really shows. Our experiences with Dobler have been consistently positive - would definitely rent again.
I feel as though the value in their communities far exceed any other management company in Pierce Co. They are attentive and customer service centered. Also, there are so many to choose from, your're bound to find a community to call home!
I have a ventilation problem with my apartment. I have had other personal issues with the complex. I have complained multiple times. Nothing is getting done. doesn't anyone know of a cheap landlord tenant lawyer or is anyone willing to go halvsies on a lawyer with me?
I rented through dobler for 6 years from 2011-2017 and had no problems. Trying to get an apartment again and I got denied. I have a discharged chapter 13 bankruptcy from almost 6 years ago now. The manager at the apartments I applied for was no help really when explaining the situation. Both my girlfriend and I paid almost $60 dollars a piece for our application fees. Our credit scores are both around 700 even mine with the discharged bankruptcy. We make 5x the rent and both have good rental history. Don't understand why they make it difficult to rent from one of their properties especially since I have gone through them in the past and left on good terms. Very disappointing!
Unfortunatly all of these comments ARE true and correct. Dobler Managenent only cares about money I have submited a complaint about Cedar Courts gate hitting my car, not one person called or emailed me back. The parking here at Cedar Court is horrendous. I have paid over $900 in towing fees over the past year because the parking is not getting taken care of. If you have a complaint or issue, Brittany, the manager, is extreamly condesending and rude. She doesn't have any consideration for specific situations. I was dissapointed when Dobler Management decided to move her up into a higher possition. I have tried to reach out to Dobler Management about my concerns and they say the only way complaints can be filed is through their email system. I have done that before and the comunication is non-existant. I have tried to call Dobler and no one calls me back. If ANYONE has any suggestions about what I can do further to resolve this issue please reach out to me. I will be investigating what kind of legal assistence I can get or otherwise to resolve my situation.
I've been renting from Dobler and have had no problems. My rating at first was 3 stars but I gave an extra to make up for people leaving 1 star reviews who have never rented from this company. Who does that? Why trash a company you have never rented from because of other peoples' bad experiences? Those people probably trashed their apartments or broke their lease and are mad at having to face consequences for being poor renters. I follow the rules of my community and keep my space clean and have had zero problems from management. I will also take pictures of my apartment when I leave it in good condition, which more people should do, in case I do need to dispute anything.
These people are BEYOND AWFUL! They literally broke into my home without my permission, when I asked them to call the cops to make sure that my rights weren't being violated, they gave me the contact information for their parent company (Dobler Management) and told me to call them to sort it out. When I contacted Dobler Management, at first they didn't have anybody that even spoke English to answer my questions. Then Dobler Management told me that nobody who could answer my questions were still in the office at 3pm, so they just kept sending me to voicemail. Then somebody finally answered and told me to "quit harassing Dobler Management staff" because I kept calling trying to get advice to make sure that their DMCI staff had the right to break into my home without my permission... Still haven't heard anything back from DMCI, even though I left multiple voice messages saying it was an urgent issue and I needed to be contacted immediately. They literally are not responding to my calls/emails anymore at this point... Terrible customer service
Never rent from these guys. SERIOUSLY. There is a reason everyone I know and all of the reviews talk about bad experiences with these guys. So far, all I've seen in the two years of being here is they want your money. NOTHING else. Specifically this location in Puyallup, they are horrible at touching up anything in the apartments. I used to be a contractor, and I know how remodeling works. These apartments are horse crap for how much you pay per month. And the manager here? Oh man. I honestly cannot stand her. All she wants is money, money, and more money. And I lost count how many times she's tried towing my car and other cars around my apartment. Not only that, if you even think about touching your car in anyway to repair it, whether it's filling it up with more water or changing a wheel, she'll get super pissy at you and demand you to stop. She's threatened me a few times.
This is our second apartment here; we upgraded from a one bedroom to a two bedroom when we got a new roomate. However, we were charged all kinds of ludicrous charges from the last apartment over things that weren't even really worth charging, or had no reason to charge for. I now supposedly owe them over $700 in charges over bull crap they claimed from the last apartment. I only wish I had taken photos and whatnot before we left. I mean...who charges to remove fur from the carpet if they're going to remove the carpet anyway? Stupid stuff like that. And the rep is a tool...she knows nothing, and just recites things as if she read whatever she's citing from a book. Not to mention, just like the manager, she's completely uncooperative and cares nothing about the tenants.
Like I said, there's a reason there are bad reviews.
Do NOT rent from these scam artists. This an ethically challenged company run by a group of morons. Be weary of all the fees they charge you when you move out so they can take all your of deposit. I've also told them many times regarding mold problems in the bathroom and the manager simply said, "That's too bad."
They manage the properties listed below so stay away - you WILL regret it. Read all the other reviews!
I worked at this company for a year and can confirm most of what is in these reviews goes on at these properties. I would never suggest anyone do business with them. Everyone stating they repeatedly contacted corporate and never received a reply is completely telling the truth. As employees, my office had a hard time reaching the corporate office! Also, whomever is replying to these posts on Dobler s behalf needs to be fired. You re pointing fingers, making excuses, and lying. It doesn t look professional at all.
We are so sick of dealing with this company. We were asked to move out of Cedar Court and did so on September 30, 2019. We had the apartment cleaned from top to bottom, following their check list. Just received our deposit refund and they charged us a standard cleaning fee of $162.50. I have emailed their deposit/money department and got no response. So emailed cooperate and they pushed us back to the other department, without any explanation. We want to know what the details of a standard cleaning are and to see pictures of what we supposedly didn t clean. This is after we have lived with mold on our walls, them bleaching our carpet, a tar like substance leaking from our deck roof and them not caring or doing anything about it. Their managers...been through two of them...Brittany and Octavia, have no compassion or show any caring I the fact that we had a car stolen and our cars broken into 5 times. They wouldn t even look at the security cameras for us. They showed no remorse or care. Brittany literally tellings us it wasn t her problem and asking what we wanted her to do about it. We had many complaints over the 3 years we lived there and believe this is why they wouldn t renew our lease and asked us to leave. Couldn t evict us cause we did nothing wrong...just got tired of hearing from us. I would never ever recommend this place or this company. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! We are looking into going to the news outlets and will be posting all over social media about the unfair practices and how they are ripping people off, if we don t get a satisfactory response soon!!!
Just wanted to say that people are not getting it. A pet deposit rarely covers the damage. The moisture test is proof the little dog peed off the pad. They also peel back the carpet and inspect pad and sub floor for discoloration. Moisture doesnt just happen below carpet and cause orange stains. You are paying for replacement of pad, carpet, molding if swelled, tack strip, a pet sealant used to stop the smell and seal moisture, and flea bombing. Yes precious does bring fleas in. Not to mention labor. Carpet alone is about a grand for 2+ bedrooms. I worked as a supervisor for years with another company. Nothing new. If you had a case your lawyer would have done more.
Always everyone else who is at fault. Never have seen a small dog not pee on a carpet reguardless of training. They pee when excited or alone with anxiety. Would challenge you to enter your future unit a few days after you move out. It will smell of urine and dog strongly. Another indication. You are damned by documentation. What you say are words. The proof is already there.
Take your dog out! Pee pads are lazy. Kennel them up when you leave with the pee pad inside instead of on the floor.
If i could give this company negative stars I would . I have been renting from this company for over a year..They bully there tenates..They refuse to fix things . I live at Stinson Park Apartments and since the day i moved in it has been a complete nightmare. I have been living in a apartment with ant issues..mold issues..all which continue to be ignored. If you tell them there are any issues with your apartments or make any complaints they will raise your rent and try to get you to move out. I would never recommend living at stinson park apartments and would never rent from Dobler Managment Again.. I still live here but after today and finding they entered my apartment without notifying me we have a big issue..side note I've been trying to get ahold of my new manger for four days emails phone calls with left voicemails and no response..If you value your privacy and enjoy a quiet, clean ,safe environment..This is not the place for you. I plan on moving asap !!!!!!!!
I disputed charges for carpet replacement. They said they would investigate it. My $1200 charge was reduced to $988 so then they added a $300 charge for landscaping. Stating my dog ruined the grass. So now I owe more money than the original charge. I would never rent from a Dobler property ever again.
There has been mode issues, leaking sink and toilet issues etc and bad mgmt we have had 4 different mgmt/leasing agents in the last 5 years. They seem to have a bad and an I don't care attitude.
The same tale as all the reviews that I have seen about this bottom of the barrel business they waste your time during the application process asking for way more than what the standard is, which I do, and at the last moment they make you aware that the application was denied due to undisclosed reasons. I have a very long rental history with no complications or issues on it this is the first time that I have ever had an issue with a management company but from all the reviews of thier properties I see that this is a common theme with their crooked business practices. I not only would not recommend them I would also not be surprised if they are taken to court for unlawful business practices soon. When that happens I would be happy to testify with my full experience of this company and their horrible business practices.
Absolute WORST experience ever. NOT military friendly.
Was charged without proof/evidence of damages. When I informed the complex that I took pictures before I left, they said that they sent me pictures of the "damages" (they still have not). I have contacted Dobler numerous times about the pictures and the dispute, and have yet to receive any response. Do not use move into their complexes.
Pretty horrible experience with this company. Unfortunate they manage so many apartments in Tacoma.
TL;DR Renting in Nantucket Gate. They charged $1000 for pet damage with no evidence and raised the rent by $100 all happened 1 month before lease renewal. Now we are unable to apply to any Doppler Management apartments eventhough we paid for the damages.
We have a small Yorkshire Terrier that is trained to pee and poo on an absorbent pad. The management saw these pads and assumed the dog peed on the carpet as well. They brought in a moisture detector and stuck it in the carpet, which then proceeded to go off. A notice of charges came in the mail saying they will charge us for the labor of replacing the carpet but not the carpet itself which amounted to $1098. We sent a letter written by our lawyer rebutting this charge and asked for evidence that the damages warranted the charge. There was no response to this letter, no evidence provided and no further investigation conducted by carpet specialists. Our renters insurance thankfully covered the costs up to $1000 and leaving us to pay $98 out of pocket. That is ridiculous considering they charge a one time fee of $400 for the pet fee.
I would not recommend renting houses managed by Doppler. Their managers are a bit rude and bent on making money rather than providing a pleasant living experience.
dmci Dobler property management deserves a 1 star from me, just for the fact that they only want millionaires to live in their very cheap and affordable apartments. My application got denied at Alder Court for a 795-825$ studio because i didnt make 3,220$ a month. Low rent apartments mean low income property, but with dmci, low rent apartments require you to make more money, because they know their tenants are going to have money, probably to scam them out of a lot of it when they move out. I bring home 2160$ a month which is so easily affordable, like i'm going to have issues paying my rent every month because i wont.
Dmci needs to lower their 4x the amount of rent required to maybe 2x or 2.5x like most other property management out there
edit: response. I did address my complaint to the website already and they probably ignored it because i haven't heard anything back from them.
I would most definitely stay away from this place. My husband I totally got screwed over. On 3/13/13 I was told if I put a certain amount of money down the apartment would be held for me for 10 days (have this in writing). On 3/15/13 I was contacted by the property manager demanding that I bring first and last months rent to her by close of business as she had several people in cue ready to rent the apartment. I was told, "whoever could produce the money the fastest will get the apartment" Wait...What!?!?! Did I not just put money down to hold the apartment for 10-days? Come to find out there was not a sole waiting to take the apartment. In fact...the apartment was handed over this morning, 3/16/13 to current tenants. Guess what? They were told they did not have to pay rent on "my apartment" until April 1, 2013. In addition, in the course of less than 48-hours the rent went from $827 with $400 off first-month rent (for me) to $850 (for current tenant who took over apartment). Now, I have no place to live as I let 2 other places go thinking I had this apartment. I guess my grandfather was right...."if it seems to good to be true...it probably is".
I am livid and want all my money back to include my application/screening fees. I have been a renter for the last 8 years and have never experienced anything quite like this. Rebecca Shores and Dobler Management your business practices are undesirable and quite possibly illegal.
Stay away from Rebecca Shores and Dobler Management!!!
worst apartment would never recommend them to anyone. management is corrupt and apartments are so worn down, everyone I've talked to completely hated living there and so did I. they take advantage of military
I have been trying to contact and waiting patiently to speak to someone regarding maintenance entering my apartment without notice right after moving in. The property manager told me upon move in that corporate lacks in their communication and i can see that is the truth. Illegal actions being taken on property and there are still no efforts being made, having to handle this by exploring different routes. I would not recommend any Dobler property, it is not worth the stress and worry. Not to mention the carpet replacement policy I've been told which is one flat fee for a total carpet replacement no matter if your unit is 1, 2, 3 or 12 bedrooms! Why i would be charged in a 1 bedroom the same as a 3 is baffling. Very poor experience.
Very unprofessional company, they charge a $200 holding deposit via money order to use cabana plus a $50 fee and now a month and a half later refuse to refund the deposit check even though they admit nothing was damaged it s just apparently not a priority for the owner to pay money owed way back to their tenants. Will have to take up in small claims court! Unbelievable
I encourage anyone looking at this to see my review of Terrace On Meridian on Facebook. Just shows how unprofessional, petty and childish these people are.
We have worked with Dobler Management for over 25 years. We have found them to be excellent managers and professionals that tend to the details while keeping the Residents well being as a priority. Having their over sight brings great peace of mind!
I ve filed multiple complaint reports with corroborating witnesses and additional statements concerning the conduct of residents and employees only to have no response or follow through. As a current resident I look forward to not renewing my lease so that I can find a decent rental property.
I have lived at 2 Dobler managed properties and not had a good experience at either. The property I currently live in has a "security" door that can be opened with a 4" screwdriver, we have frequent break ins, but management won't do anything to protect the residents. Additionally, one of the garage doors is constantly broken and won't open.
Save yourself some aggravation and stay far away from DMCI properties.
Absolutely horrific customer service. Trying to get ahold of anyone here is a nightmare. My wife and I lived in one of their managed apartments and apon moving out we left the apartment immaculate. (I'm a Marine, I'm more qualified to clean than most) We didn't receive our security deposit in the mail so after calling repeatedly they finally agreed to send it to us. We got a bill for $450 on top of the deposit. The things we complained about that weren't working (dishwasher, oven, paint stained bath tub, messed up carpets) they tried to pin on us. I talked to the office and they said we got the wrong bill and we only owed $30. Still disagreed but decided to pay it. Went to give it to the office and they directed me to Dobler. "Trying to give them money" was the most dissatisfying experience I've had. They don't take phone calls, only email. They don't respond to emails, and when calling to ask questions and a requested call back they don't return it. Horrible company. If any apartments are owned by Dobler, DO NOT move into them. It's not worth your hard earned money as they try to take it from you to fix what's already wrong with their properties.
I have had the pleasure of working for Dobler Management over the last 18 months. I have worked for multiple management companies and Dobler is by far my best employment experience. Working in property management can get a little overwhelming at times, but the ownership of Dobler really understands and gives you the opportunity to spend your time engaging with your residents and property rather than being buried in busy work. They understand that being available for your residents is a huge part of the experience while living at one of their sites. I manage one of the most beautiful properties, I have an amazing Asset Manager and I love the support you receive from everyone in the corporate office. I plan on being an employee for many years to come!
They offer money to help them fill up there apartments by referring your friends and family to live in them. But needless to say they do not pay after you help do there work for them! Look at there reviews online before working with them Obviously I'm not the only one that feels this way about this company.
I guess YOU ARE THE PROPERTY MANAGER THAT DENIED MY APPLICATION? 10/5/2018 I applied on Sept.22,2018 9:35 pm Did the online portal application fee and placed a deposit for the apartment I11 renting at $1,535 . I went through the screening process without any issues, and got all documentations accordingly. I started the process well in advance . My residency has been pristine of where I live for 8 years, but having to move. This is what I went through, as being self employed: What I gave them was/and are in excellent history: My Credit passed. From my accountant: Thu, Sep 20, 5:31 PM Profit and loss statement Sat, Sep 29, 2:41 PM Personal/Business income &IRS Proof of self employment All PDF sent Business and Personal to show my income (which was way over 3x the amount of the rent at this place.) (Where my accountant was on standby for further information) Thu, Oct 4, 3:00 PM (1 day ago) From Business Property Manager: Place of business sent a PDF Ledger of my 7 years of history of ALL ON TIME PAYMENTS. (Where this business property manager was on standby for further information) Thu, Sep 27, 1:03 PM (8 days ago)- Property Manager of my 8 years-Melanie: Sent copy of my residency payment of 8 years paid on time! (Melanie even called and left messages both to Port Landing and the corporation itself and she never heard from them. She made several attempts but no response.) I kept following up with them via email, and via phone calls in the middle of my hectic work schedule. Everything is timing. And I know 13 days is a long time to get approved when I already have shown sufficient documentation. I have snap shot a few email that was mentioned. I was immediately denied because they said I don't have the "funds" to cover rent. But the funny thing is, where I live currently I am paying over $1,700 and been paying my rent consistently for 8 years. And at Port Landing it is $1,535, that is $165 I am paying more. So, how is it that I cannot afford to pay cheaper rent vs. the higher rent I am paying now? There is something not right about this company. They say they are understaffed. That wouldn't matter when it is always Svetlana and Elena only working at the office with a small community. They never mentioned who the "SHE" was to approve new tenants. I have a very strong suspicion, either they don't like people of color, or the fact I am covered with tattoo's. There is nothing logical about this denial of residency. Or either Svatlana or Elena is the owner herself. They never said who this woman was. Just because I have tattoo's: I pay all my bills on time, I don't do drugs, I don't party, I run my own business that keeps me busy 6 days a week and I take my small dog with me to work. I donate to Domestic Violence shelters with my business and animal shelter in Tacoma. I will be parts of the EMPACT NORTHWEST: INTERNATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE & RESCUE SCHOOL .The people I associate with the most are DOCTORS,DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE RETIRED MILITARY/MILITARY PILOTS,FLIGHT MEDIC US AIR FORCE, AND A BATTALION CHIEF FIREMAN and so forth. And this is why I asked both Svetlana and Elena if they had military that live at Port Landing to let them know I work with a lot of High ranking officers and or/other professionals, and would want to move here in the future. Now, I will let all my Armed forces associates, and all the other professionals I do work with, WILL never ever suggest PORT LANDING A PLACE OF RESIDENCE. And if this is a quiet way of discrimination towards new tenants based on appearance. It is a shame you people have some sort of fear. You knew I kept holding on and you kept hoping I would justquit and move on. But you all ran out of excuses just to finally say "NO". All you had to do is say, yes we dont like people like you or you have tattoos. Then okay, I get it. Discrimination is not okay. I will show the photos of the dates that Svetlana and Elena have sent. Emails that was sent with no solid reason as to who this "She" was. Base it on qualification not discrimination.
**NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY!!** If you re Military, rent somewhere else. I broken my lease in accordance with their military addendum in the contract. They even helped me move out in accordance with their addendum (orders, 20 day notice, clean inspection, etc) before the end of a month.
They changed their minds and took nearly a month to rent the unit after I left. So they kept most of my last months rent and security deposit.
They still owe me $1,446.82
Small claims court is difficult to use because they require that you go to mediation first before litigation......... I would have to buy plane tickets back and forth to Washington to do this. It s a pretty good racket StoneGate Apartments/Dobler Management Company has going on.
I ll pass my case on to Housing and send a general message across to my peer senior leaders. To my military brothers and sisters, contact me on global for further details and other recommendations outside of Dobler Management Company.
I have had the great pleasure to work with Dobler in various capacities over the last nine years and I can undoubtedly say they are a top notch organization that values relationships with their residents, community and supplier partners. They have always and continue to provide safe, secure and reasonably priced housing in Pierce and Thurston counties. They take great pride in ensuring they have some of the best leasing agents and property managers on site and invest a great deal in their ongoing employee education and training. We are lucky to have an organization like Dobler providing housing for so many individuals in the South Puget Sound and I am grateful to continue to have a partnership with them and would highly encourage any of my family or friends to take residency in one of their communities.
We are Refino Services, a general contractor that has had the privilege of working with Dobler Management Company over the last 15 years. Dobler Management goes the extra mile to keep their tenants happy and their properties well maintained. They are committed to keeping their properties in excellent condition with regular repairs, general upkeep, and magnificent exterior upgrades. Refino Services has enjoyed being a part of this commitment.
I am so glad I no longer live in the apts managed by dobler anymore. My experience with them was atrocious and reading through all the reviews I'm not surprised others have brought up seeking legal action, clearly most of their tenants are in the same boat and all feel that this is the worst housing management out there. I lived at one of their apt complexes for 1 year and in that 1 year they went through 4 different apt managers. 4 in a year. The funny part is, even though my apt was awful, my complaint is aimed at the handling and Dobler Management as a whole. Their company is nastier in my opinion (and so many others, clearly) than the run down apt I leased. But for kicks I'll go ahead and mention the issues with my apt: mold, carpet looked ok upon move in but after one week all the old stains began to surface up and you could tell they haven't changed carpet in years and mine was severely stained by previous tenants, no joke 1/2 of my apts electricity didn't work or rather, imagine knowing that once you reach a certain side of your apt, thats where you know you can't plug anything in, or utilize electricity. Had the apts handyman try to fix it a few times and his response was "must be a ghost". In other words it was never fixed which horrified the 4th apt manager when she found out during my walk thru to end my lease. My car was stolen from its designated parking spot that I paid for, the garbages were always overflowing. My apt was not up to par but the Dobler company? Way worse. They basically stole from me by using my security deposit and last months rent for God only knows what. When I asked for information on where my prepaid money was going toward vs being refunded back to me, it was 2 weeks of being passed around, told to email, told to leave a message, never explained to me why I hadn't received my security deposit back. I should mention that during my 1 year stay, the same treatment was given to me when a tenant above my apt became infested with bed bugs. Those tenants literally threw their mattresses, furniture, everything over their balcony outside which ended up right outside my bottom floor back door. Any time I called to get them to handle that situation AND wanting information on whether or not my apt would be at risk for infestation, they would just be short over the phone, tell me to email, never offer resolution, never offer information, they just send you on a 2 week run around as if they hope you'll either give up or forget about it. But back to me exiting my lease. After a month of them jerking me around they finally gave me a check for $300 back from my security deposit only after I mentioned getting a lawyer, which I'm sure they hadn't planned on giving me anything back until they realized I wasn't going to stop until they either showed me what they were using my money for, or give it back. Honestly I know I should've got more back but I was willing to just let it go just so I could finally be free from dealing with them. There is a reason they have such low reviews There is a reason they go through so much staff so quickly There is a reason the responses to the reviews about them are defensive and unprofessional.
The reason is they are really that bad.
To respond to your implication that I'm confused, the name of the complex was Los Altos
I like Dobler Management. I've lived here for years. I don't think people realize that there are bad property managers and not the whole company. My current one is the worst!
I don't even want to give this management company a single star. I have rented from Dobler for more that 10 years, unfortunately due to my situation I could not get into a house. When I was finally in a spot to move, they were nothing but nasty toward me. I was on a month to month lease for over a year as I planned my move. Despite multiple visits to the office, our concerns for our living conditions was neither addressed nor improved. When turning in my keys, the apartment manager belittled me and shouted at me because she "had a bad day" She stated she had no desire to speak with me regarding my apartment and that I can handle this with a check when I receive my bill in the mail. The way she treated me and spoke to me left me in tears . 3 weeks later I got her "bill" in the mail. For over $3000! It's itemized and states that we dumped things at the dumpster that we brought to our new home. Through dealing with this company for as long as I have I have only come to one conclusion. This company cares only for money and are all around crooked. If I knew then, what I know now I never would have contacted them. I truly would have rather lived in a vehicle than have to deal with the anxiety and stress I was under for as long as I was. We found hypodermic needles in our backyard on multiple occasions. This is not for two managers we had that actually did something for our small community. My father is disabled and he lives with me, I take care of him. I'm fostering children now. I was a good tenant. Never had any complaints to me or about me. I would never recommend this company to anyone, friends and enemies alike.
I loved working here!! I had to leave back to school, but it was such a wonderful place! Everybody is very professional, yet it remains a fun and lively place to work. Sadly, many people get upset when they do not pass screening and take it out on the management. Their apartments do have high standards, but they offer co-signers and exceptions whenever they can to help people out. It is also a women run company; very inspiring!
This company only cares about getting their money. Our friends referred us to an apartment complex they manage and I looked over and over the application for a spot to put that they referred us but could not find one. Somehow it was filled in as Google referred us and now they will not give our friends the referral bonus. I even wrote a letter and attached it with the rest of my application. Obviously I wrote the letter before we moved in. Their reason for denying our friends the bonus is because they already paid their advertisement fee with Google, and stating that I had to select something in that box, it does not just populate and because people will move in and then find out people they know live there and then try to get their friends the referral bonus. This really frustrates me because my letter was attached with our application to move in!!!! I never selected who referred us because I never saw it! I am not sure if it is Corporate or the actual apartments who create the application but they need to make their application more user friendly, but of course they wouldn't want to make it easier for people to get their money. I would never recommend living in any facility that they manage.
Since this management company encompasses many complexes within their control, addressing dysfunction concerning only one would not be fair. It is up to them to sort out their own problems across their empire. The reasoning for this documentation is to alert anyone who may have the slightest once of decency within their own soul to actually responsibly.
The first question is, where is the management? Recently the complex I am in has been managed using the turnstile method. How can anyone expect the policies/rules of their lease to be enforced, when management doesn t even seem to know what they are, let alone enforce them? The general rule seems to be around here is that your problem with neighbors, (non-compliance with quiet hours, as per lease policies, etc.), isn t their problem. Even when it concerns one of their own! It has also come to question, what are we as residents supposed to clean our own landings? There have been dust-balls the size of softballs on the landing for months. We get notices stuck through our doors, (i.e. pool rules, etc.) do those leaving the notices not have eyes?
So why should they care, since it is not their problem? The adage seems to be, if you don t like it here you can move they ll just rent the apartment again. In that respect, they re right. My time is almost up. Parting will be so such joy. They can ignore the next occupant just as well. I just pity the next one. Yet is it not, just a reflection of the overall management of this nation a total lack of respect and concern?
Oh and wouldn t you know it! A vehicle was parked in the disability spot right in front of the office while they were open. Happen to notice the driver left the apartment they live in, go out to the vehicle and retrieve a gym bag. Left it parked there with many other empty places. What does that tell you?
***UPDATE 10/2018*** DO YOU GUYS SERIOUSLY SEE THEIR RESPONSE? 3 months AFTER I leave this review, someone from their company has the audacity to claim I m not telling the whole story. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT do business with this unprofessional, poorly managed, money hungry company. As you could see in their response, my ORIGINAL complaints are accurate about their lack of integrity and inability to do ethical business!!!!
I previously rented from Dobler in 2013. When I moved out there were no issues. I put in an application this last month, on the 15th to be exact. Not only was I applying with a higher income but I was applying with my boyfriend who makes just as much as I do. We are more than qualified to rent and I ve rented before. Our credit was ran on 11/16 per my credit report and credit karma. We attempted to call the leasing agent multiple times and have not heard back until today, three days before we were scheduled to move in. She stated our application was denied and that she didn t know why. We were also told that our REFUNDABLE deposit was not going to be returned to us in a timely manner. When I left in 2014, I knew this company were a bunch of scam artist and figured maybe three years would be enough time to collect yourselves and re structure your business but it s apparent that not only do you guys DISCRIMINATE against your tenants but you also have no interest in keeping your customer base. It s been a NIGHTMARE to get ahold of anyone from Dobler and the professionalism is FAR from ethical. I WILL be reaching out to Kathy.
This company and the aprtment(Nantucket gate) are sneaky. I got charges upon move out and questioned them..come to find out the carpet charges were an "estimate". How can you charge someone an estimated cost which was 300 dollar difference. So I asked for receipts of everything and asked about another charge and what a surprise the vendor didn't charge them for it so they were to credit me. Once again how are you charging for something you werent charged for. The manager said she would communicate the 460 dollar credit to the person you pay but she has not. The manager is not ignoring my emails and I have emailed the mgt company with no response. I will probably be taking legal action... question all your charges and ask for proof!!!!
This company tried to sue me for almost the exact amount they gave me in severance for some bogus charges that I wasn't responsible for as an employee. My on site managers were at odds constantly, they charge for a gate that doesn't and hasnt closed for at least 6 months, they turn a blind eye to drug use and prostitution so long as it pays the rent, etc etc. horrible work experience, terrible living arrangements, and as a past employee I can say this because I've seen and heard it, open racism towards east indian and middle eastern communities. Jokes about curry and turbans were commonplace and my manager would often turn away anyone with an accent because she "didn't want to deal with that."
*Quick edit to my review: They DID pay me severance, and I have the paper that literally says the word on it that was offered after making numerous HR complaints and being let go instead of things being investigated on a management level. Not only this but I recently received a phone call near midnight from my past manager who's number I have kept just in case things like this happened. After seeking more employment in the same field I was told that this is just how Dobler operates from MULTIPLE OTHER MANAGEMENT COMPANIES. Also yes, the reviews are fake, I saw my managers fill some out and try and prune the bad ones.
NOV 21 update: their response is false. Papers we were served were from them not site manager, also have email threads from them and phone logs. Nice try though Dobler. *EDIT: 1 month later and after attorneys and legalities were involved and they saw the mass amount of evidence we had against them they immediately dropped their charges and eviction. They can t go breaking laws with just anyone, we won t let that happen. We still have yet to hear any kind of feedback or apology. Yikes, Dobler. * I'm absolutely not one to ever leave negative reviews anywhere, usually I'm a very understanding person and give everyone the benefit of the doubt thinking "maybe it's just a bad day" etc etc. Unfortunately, mine and my husband's experience as renters with Dobler management have been less than deserving of a 1 star review. I'm writing this in hopes that any future potential renters read this an take a thorough look around the property before renting... INCLUDING in the baseboards of every room. My husband and I are both very neat and clean people, and I am terrified of all kinds of bugs (if there's one in the house i'll notice and have my husband kill it). So it didn't take us long to notice the well-established bed bug's nest in our bedroom baseboards. (6 days after moving in.) we immediately notified our landlord. Neither of us had ever seen bed bugs before, and never had that issue at our previous condo. In fact, our previous landlord can say with certainty there were no bed bugs in our condo before we moved our furniture into the property managed by dobler. Dobler management wanted us to wait until a specific company was willing to come out and investigate. (already looking shady for them) I was not wanting to wait around, we deep cleaned everything in our house and checked EVERY INCH of that place only to realize they were only living in the baseboards and saw one bug, we quickly vacuumed it up and sprayed the house with bug spray we bought ourselves. We called a local pest control company to do an investigation and estimate and they came out the next day. They said that this was in fact an OLD nest of bed bugs and they only found eggs ( we have pictures) and dead bead bugs and this could not possibly have happened in 1 week or less. We have that official paperwork written up and will be taking it to court. Several days later Dobler's specific choice in pest control showed up, and the entire conversation seemed rehearsed, before they even stepped foot into the house they were debating us on the house having any kind of bugs. Once they found a dead bed bug they went on to say "who knows for sure if it's a bed bug though" (I would assume a bug pest control professional could tell better than someone who's been doing hours of google searches on bed bugs, but I guess I was wrong?). They ignored the paperwork we showed them from the other pest control company that came over a couple days beforehand, and were dismissive and unfriendly. Again, we gave the benefit of the doubt. Also keep in mind, while this is happening it is two weeks before our wedding, and just about 2 weeks after moving in, we didn't even have most of our furniture moved into the property at this point. Most rooms were empty. Dobler decided to have our townhome sprayed multiple times and didn't even bother to let us know when those days and times were going to be. We ended up staying at my parent's house for 3 weeks, including the day of our wedding. Even though I was stressed as can be, I was nothing but understanding and respectful although I never received that respect in return. Fast forward 3.5 months later, our landlord informs us Dobler will not be paying for the service they hired and didn't consult us with any decisions. She also informs us that Dobler requires wither the full $1000 plus payment right then and there or we can make payments and the first one being due in TWO days, if not paid we will be evicted. Luckily, my husband and I have kept the collection of pictures, emails, texts, and both pest control company's official papers.
Unfortunately, only the most unsatisfied residents usually reach out to cooperate companies or come into contact with them at all. The reviews look like they reflect that! Fortunately, I had a wonderful experience! I came to Dobler trying to seek more information about their many apartment complexes. They were extremely kind and willing to help! The receptionist is especially sweet and the entire office appeared very organized and professional. A great management company!
Any of these wonderful reviews are lies and were clearly staged. We are currently seeking legal action against them, but our experiences with them have been absolutely insane. This is by far THE WORST place I have EVER lived. The staff are NOT knowledgeable and are only kind/friendly until you move in and need something. They are not simply unkind, they are downright rude and act as though you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their jobs. They tell you things are done, but never do them. They leave carpets in units for way too long and when you mention the carpet coming up in certain areas, they say "Don't worry about that, it's been like that for years." Excuse me? How many years? They do quick/cheap fixes to things, so things start to break after you move in, but they call it your fault. Example, they charged previous tenants an obscene amount to clean the blinds but the blinds were glued together when we moved in and quickly fell apart. The parking is absolutely impossible. You have to PAY for parking if you want a guaranteed spot, and even then, there's no guarantee that it'll be open when you get home and despite your having already paid for the spot, the property manager will not do anything about it. The walls are incredibly thin. Even if you tip-toe, all sounds transfer from unit to unit. You seemingly pay extra for a "gated community" but the gates do not always function, and if something DOES happen that makes you feel unsafe (like another tenant pointing a gun at you) in the community, they will not do anything about it. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I have tried calling this company multiple times in the last couple weeks via the number on their website and have yet to get ahold of an actual human being. I listen to an automated message with extensions, dial the extension I need and it says please hold. I hold and am brought back to the automated voice message again....this happens every time I call. And I am calling during office hours. I then went and filled out a comment card on their website in regards to the status of my deposit refund and have yet to hear from them. I moved out 3 weeks ago and should have heard from them by now according to the manager of my apartment building. I figure writing them a review will get their attention, seeing they keep an eye on those.
Affter 8 years, we recieved a notice to vacate. We never missed rent and have had no known complaints! When asked why, they said it was a business decision...They now say we owe them $178, they will not receive a dime. Dobler is the worst company ever..
I lived in Villas at Lawrence untill Dec-15. They didn't refund my full deposit, though the carpet was getting replaced. They still charged me for carpet cleaning.
For landlords, dodgy. Their tenant gave consent to provide me information...This company's policy is very primitive in providing information about their tenants. Had to send questions via fax, received answers looking like kid wrote them and answers were not confident. They don't know much about their tenants and refuse to talk on the phone about it. Signed as admin at the bottom of the fax back to me, without the person's name, as per company policy. Hard to trust in their answers, could be their cleaner who send answers back to me for what I know.
