So on 5/11/16 I was hit by a direct auto customer ...

So on 5/11/16 I was hit by a direct auto customer and after I left the police station I called direct auto claims and they were closed at 6pm. I should have known what insurance company don't stay up 24 hrs or at least until 11pm. So I filed my claim the next day the service was very a fast food order. then I call to check the status of my claim a week later 5/18 my adjuster D per..!!! States our insured hasn't responded to our letters. I told him y'all continue to take his payment. I need my vehicle fixed so I called every week. Then finally he say go get an estimate any shop so I did and emailed the estimate. 06/11/16 Then he states we still haven't heard from our insured Ok let me speak to the manager. She get phone and states we are sending u an offer right now. I get the offer its not even half the estimate. Avoid this company at all cost avoid avoid avoid avoid . On another note the receptionist is as sweet as pie but them other mother fu*kers

Worst experience ever! I was I a car accident about 3months ago, went through numerous of people to get my claim processed. Now battle with their body shop on getting my vehicle fixed. My vehicle has been in the shop for about 2 months now. They continue to give me the run around about my vehicle they state it will be ready on this date but has not been ready yet.NOW THEY are saying they may not be able to fix it due to the frame bent! I thought this was a great idea going to their body shop hit I was wrong! Wack insurance company and WACK body shop! Oh and I have been out of a car since then they told me I was able to get a rental for 10 days and would get a reimbursement unfortunately that was a LIE as well. They did not pay for my rental and I had rental coverage in my policy! THINK TWICE BEFORE GETTING THIS INSURNACE IT MAY BE CHEAP BUT IS BOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. I have never dealt with such a horrible company in my life. And I have never dealt with such rude, unprofessional customer service people in my life either. I was in a MINOR accident that was my fault a few months back. This company is now saying that they will not cover the costs, and I'm out $5000!!!!!! Isn't that why I pay for car insurance every month?? So that I won't be out insane amounts of money when there is an accident. I have NOTHING else on my driving record. I also almost lost my license because of this horrible company. I am canceling my policy immediately. Save your money people!!!!! Don't make the mistake I did. -Edaon Ocampo

I was very hesitant about putting a review! Let me to you i am very disappointing and dissatisfied with the service I have received with this insurance company! I have referred friends and family to them and have multiple vehicle with them and this is my very first car accident I got into JULY 5th !!! Every time I call I get put on hold for a very long time or get transferred, My adjuster keeps telling me she is waiting on an answer from her manager about my vehicle and I have not gotten an answer as if my car is going to get fixed, or is it totaled?? Or how much longer it may take. I work for customer service myself and let me tell you this is the worst kind of service I have experienced I am so unhappy ... all I want is my vehicle back and fixed. I need to speak to someone ASAP!!!! This is not how you should run a business. I pay my insurance for the whole year ! I don t do monthly payments and the same way they take my money every year when it is time to renew I need my CAR BACK!!!

This has to be THE WORSE insurance company in existence who do not care about their customers AT ALL! You are better off giving throwing the premium that you pay in the garbage than dealing with these people! 2 weeks waiting for a comprehensive claim to even be processed with no property damage! A deer got in my way and my car need repairs. I ve been waiting for my claim to be processed. No one answers the phone or calls back after leaving 6 voicemails until just yesterday.
Reps are rude and most of them are useless! Their customer service is of the lowest standards.
Don t skimp on insurance and please pay a little more for a better company! I don t get into accidents so saving money was my primary concern.
So I went with these people and that was a the worse decision I have made! It s true what they say, you do get what you pay for!
Please AVOID THIS COMPANY!

I got hit by someone who is insurance by Direct Auto. It happened on 2/15, today is 2/20 and I got a massage that it will take them 3-5 more business day to check my claim!!!! SO I have a car, that I can not get in due to damage driver's door, will have a snow and rain inside due to damage window, have to wait a week before it can get approval for repair???? Ridicules place, people rude and have no answers. DO not go and get your vehicle insure there.

ZERO STARS!!! WORST PLACE EVER TO GET INSURANCE! This place is a TOTAL scam. My car was totaled. Which I had taken my car to another shop before making my claim to the insurance just to get another suggestion and it was still repairable. Not only that but they added someone to my insurance without my consent in order for them not to pay me the whole value of my car minus the deductible. This place is just ridiculous. You will never be able to communicate with someone who can actually help they always transfer from one person to another person to always end up with a damn voicemail that you will never get a call back. I have made a complaint against them already but I don't know how long this will take I might just have to end up hiring a lawyer.

NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE. I had to pay over $1000 for my car which included my $500 deductible because they wouldn't cover the battery that was damaged in the accident or the police tow which i had no choice (other insurance companies in the past did cover this for accidents involving my vehicles) even tho I paid for tow coverage, they argued that i could have refused the officer to tow my car and call their service but the police would not allow me to as my car was blocking traffic. Took 2 and a half weeks to even get an estimate for an approval on my claim. I been without my car since January 28th and am just now getting my vehicle back on March 13th because it took them so long to approve the car to go to the dealer (after the original estimate 1 week extra) to get the air bags put back in which they knew about when the first estimate was given and then another 5 days to approve the condenser and battery work (also making me pay for the battery that was damaged in the accident claiming it was going bad even tho the dealer i just bought it from 2 months prior to the accident put a new one in). This was my insurance company not some other persons policy. If this is how they treat their customers I can only imagine how they treat people that have been hit by their customers. I had rental car reimbursement but they only cover 10 days which does not even cover the time they took for approvals. Stay away from this company and any company that sells their policies I will never go back to them again and I pray I never get hit by one of their customers. Also note that every time i asked how long it would take they told me they had 45 days to approve my claim and that they were working on it. I also never got a phone call back I always had to call and complain that they didn't call me back in order for me to talk to the claims adjuster.

Beware of this company. I am the owner of an automotive repair facility that recently dealt with this insurance company for a claim for one of my customers. You would be better off saving your money than paying the premiums to this "insurance company". My poor customer got into an accident and has been driving a rental for a month (they expect you to pay for rental up front and then reimburse you - good luck). After a month of trying to get answers as to how they wanted to proceed with either repairing the vehicle or doing a total loss, they finally sent over the estimate that they were willing to pay. This insurance company allows for a $26/hour body shop repair rate and a $35/hour mechanical labor rate. For comparison, a typical State Farm or Allstate rate for body is $50/hour and $120/hour for mechanical. Obviously at such a discounted rate no reputable shop is going to be willing to work on your vehicle should you have an accident and need repairs. I would avoid this company at all cost.

February 19, 2015, 6 pm, Rolling Meadows.
I was stopped at a red light on a major intersection. Algonquin and Golf.
This idiot rear-ends me and crushed my rear bumper. He failed to stop because he was driving on a torn rear tire, literally on the metal rim while sparks were coming out. Comes out and gives me an expired temporary insurance card and a state ID, NOT a driver's licence. He is 17!!! Says he was coming from school and was in a hurry to see his girlfriend and the new born!!!! Good thing I called the Rolling Meadows Police. When the officer came I gave him the documents the guy gave me and the Officer shaked his head saying that's not a DL. The kid then says oh here is my new insurance card, that one was the old card....Police Office issued him 3 violation tickets and arrested him and impounded his car. I called the insurance and the agent said I must call before 5 pm. I called next morning and filed a claim with Direct Auto Insurance Company. The assured me the claim is filed and asked for my documents. They mailed me a form to fill out. On the form they stated that all accidents will be paid out based on the percentage of fault assigned to their insured. I mailed all documents and pictures and responded that in this case their insured has 100% fault for failing to stop at a red light and thus rear-ending a stopped vehicle. They took their sweet time to review. I kept calling them. EVENTUALLY, THE RUDE AND ILLITERATE AGENT ON THE PHONE, FATIMA, STATED THEY WILL NOT PAY THE CLAIM BECAUSE THEIR INSURED, JULIO GOMEZ, DID NOT REPORT THE ACCIDENT TO THEM WITHIN 30 DAYS, REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT I REPORTED THAT TO THEM AND PROVIDED A POLICE REPORT. The most ridiculous denial. I made the insured go to their office to give them whatever statement they need. They took written statement from him of the accident and still said the claim is denied! They never sent me denial in the mail, nothing written! The insured then says, since his insurance does not want to pay then he will not pay either. That seems to be a very convenient loop hole. Hit others, cause accidents and damages, don't report to your insurance and you never have to pay a dime for being reckless and irresponsible on the road. DIRECT AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY IS A SCAM, THAT HAS FOUND A WAY TO MAKE MONEY BY ISSUING USELESS INSURANCE CARDS FOR POLICIES THAT COVER 0 DAMAGES, AND THUS THEY PAY $0 ON CLAIMS!

ILLINOIS STATE NEEDS TO SHUT THEM DOWN AND ADD PROVISION IN THE REGULATIONS TO MAKE THE DENIAL BASED ON THE BEFORE MENTIONED REASON UNLAWFUL. ILLINOIS STATE, PLEASE MAKE OUR STREETS SAFER, GET RID OF THIS INSURANCE SCAM COMPANY!!!!

You get what you pay for. No one ever answers the phone on the first or second call. Or even hours later.

It s hard to get in touch with anyone and it delays claims days to weeks at a time. I ve spoken to some friendly people and some are not at all.

I m only here because it s what I can afford at the moment but their prices shouldn t be a reason to receive this type of customer service. If they did better on someone things like this, it wouldn t be so bad. But it s very disappointing and unacceptable.

It takes them over 2months to look into a claim, after giving you the run around they will deny you for a stupid reason, they will think of anything! If you have the money file a lawsuit against this company it is worth every penny to pay a lawyer! They treat consumers poorly. File a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance, and the BBB. Direct Auto needs to be investigated and these people need to be prosecuted! The claims adjuster FATIMA CARRANCA is the biggest LIAR ever. She lied to me about everything. Her attitude is horrible! I feel sorry for anyone that ever has to talk to her. She was very very rude and promised to return calls and never did! I hope someone treats her the way she treats people one day! JERRY the supervisor was also extremely rude to me, he talked to me in a very unprofessional manner to be given the title supervisor I use that loosely. This Company is a joke. SERGIO GARCIA the so called accident reconstructionist/Appraiser is a scammer! Do not let him in your home! They sent him out to my house after business hours, not even at a decent hour! It was late at night. All he did was tell me a pack of lies and try and record me so they can try and frame you later!...they will not get away with what they are doing to people, KARMA is real! Please if you too had the headache of dealing with Direct Auto do everything you can to report them! They should feel embarrassed for how they have treated consumers! They have a F rating with the BBB. They have 1stars on Yelp. If you have them already PLEASE switch to State Farm! They are a third party that gives policies through northwest insurance. Beware! If you have NorthWest Insurance switch asap. Don't let the car dealer talk you into getting a Direct Auto policy to drive off! This is far worst than sub-par this is a plain SCAM! If I could give them zero or negative stars, I would! One of their clients hit me and I've been trying to have the claim filed for over a month! They have you on hold for a long time, they are RUDE and don't know what they are doing. They make everything very difficult and make it seem like it's your fault. I am BLESSED not to have them as my insurance company! I cannot wait for this to be over. They refuse to give me any helpful information as to how to get them my medical bills, how to get compensation for my time and lost wages, or to get my vehicle fixed, etc. The lady I talked to, Vanessa, had an attitude the whole time. I have a call in to the supervisor, but I am sure he will be of no help, either. Best of luck to everyone else!

If I could rate in the negatives, I would! COMPLETE SCAM! I wish I would have read the reviews on this place! These unqualified, unprofessional, and disgrace of a business have had my car for over a month and they refuse to answer any of my calls! Sergio, apparently the jack of all trades over there, went line item by line item about what was going to be repaired, only to find out what he quoted me and what he quoted the body shop were two completely different scopes of work. The body shop ended up saying they didn t want to work on it and now they sent it somewhere else! My car has been relocated 3 times and I don t even know if it s totaled or not! Awful, awful service! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Pay the extra money for good service and a peace of mind!

Horrible staff. Horrible cheap insurance. My vehicle was stuck by one of their clients. Total damage. I call them to make a claim and the attitude they have is over the roof. they have no intention of helping anyone. They keep you on hold for over 20 mins a time. No rental. They refuse to pay for towing. Nothing is included in their cheap policy. Wife has full coverage with direct auto. The battery died and they also refuse to help. I hope you guys run out of business. I most definitely will switch her policy with a better insurance maby I ll pay a little bit more but I can be at ease that I have an actual team that is willing to help their clients and victims. I wish I can rate you -10. ITS NOT WORTH IT CHEAP POLICY MEANS CHEAP SERVICE!!

The absolute worst company to deal with EVER!!!! I cant believe that its been over a month and I am still waiting on approval for my claim! They are using every excuse in the book stating conflicting statements and waiting on police reports which Id still be waiting on even though it took me less then five minutes to just do it myself!!! FRAUDS-Their policy holder rear-ended me and trying to start the claim took months while they delayed contacting me, claiming I never sent information, when I told them I did they found it right after. Then they denied my claim because they couldn't prove their car was at the scene. I have a picture of the license plate, passport, and a police report. I don't know what else they need but if you have the choice DO NOT work with these frauds.

This insurance company is fraud... Last year a woman hit my friend's car from behind on the expressway and totalled my friend's car. She presented her Direct Auto insurance card and we went from there to file claims. I was hurt and had to do physical therapy for 3 months, mind you I was a passenger in the car that was hit. The company told my friend that it was his fault that she hit us and was not going to pay for anything... I hired an attorney and my friend had representation from his insurance company. We went to arbitration court and was awarded a settlement, that was back in October 2017... Here is is the end of December and I still have not received my check from them. My attorney advised me that is company is very very bad when it comes to paying out or taking responsibility for their claims and or actions. I don't understand why people still buy insurance policies from them when if they get into an accident they risk being dropped from the insurance or end up being sued in small claims court because they refused to pay. I don't understand why there is no penilty for this type of crooked business. HEY DIRECT AUTO... YOU OWE ME MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!

Like all other reviewers said, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS COMPANY!!!! Direct Auto Insurance did nothing when THEIR INSURED DRIVER rear ended my vehicle at a stoplight!!! Totally at fault, but this company will do nothing. My vehicle was total loss and thank god I have a real insurance company like Geico, who will now have to sue them to pay the claim that Geico covered. NEWS FLASH...if you are insured by them and they do not pay the claim, you could be forced to pay it yourself. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN BY THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE...who by the way is also doing nothing about all the complaints they get about this company.

I had the same expierence as many others. Company said that their insured would not fill out the report so they would not pay, even though we had a police report saying their insured was at fault. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the NAIC that they paid any money. It was less than half of my estimate, but at least I got something. I suggest anyone else having trouble with this company file a complaint as well.

I don t really know what word can qualify that insurance company, I m trying to be as much come possible with my rating and my words.

One of their insured hit my car few month ago 100% their fault, as I am an Allstate customer I had no choice to go toward my insurance because of the lack of cooperation of those people.

I had to deal with Maria that was taking care of my case, my insurance had to use twice surrogation. Until that right now they had to hire an attorney and sue them for that matter.

Here is the point, I had to deal with State Farm once, one of their insured hit my car just body damaged it took 2 days for them to issues payment for repair.

I don t understand how those people can be still in business and how the BBB didn t take care of that. Some of those people that working there should to get fired, like Maria for her lack of commun sens and her rudeness.

Sorry but not sorry.

For those people who choice that insurance however they have low quote it s more worth it to upgrade your insurance for yourself and for other. I used to be a customer of them as well before and their service is a disaster.

I was rear ended by one of direct autos clients almost two months ago and I can't seem to get a hold of anyone anymore. I I took off work because I was told by my claim will be approved on certain day. It was not approved. They did not try to accommodate me either when the inconvience happen.

Worst service ever. I ve been trying to get a hold of them for two days, they leave me on hold for 40 minutes and hang up. I call right back, wait another 40 minutes just so they can hang up again. This has happened for 2 days now. I am currently on hold, for the third time. Do not give them your business. They do not deserve it.

really wish I could leave -8 stars... Not sure how they are in business this is the WORST company ever... please do your research on the better business bureau they have horrible reviews... My car was in a accident and I filed the claim in January, I have been getting the run arounds since then.. I have followed all of their steps and done all that they asked only for me to go get the estimates like they asked and now it is a issue with my address that I've had and lived at the whole year of having this insurance... my address has NEVER been an issue EVER, they faithfully accept my payments without questioning my address , now all of a sudden its time for them to fix something it is an issue.. my car is registered to my apartment, my ID has My apartment address on it but for some reason that is not good enough proof of residency. Now they are requesting my LEASE which is very odd. I have spoke to several ins companies and no one have ever heard of this... I have sent my lease and they do not follow up EVER, I always have to call and all of the females there has the WORST attitudes ever..about 6 months ago I was rear-ended the other person ins took care of everything I did not have a hard time AT ALL (Safeco) they paid medical bills for my child, replaced my trunk and paid for my rental. It is very ridiculous that the company I pay for protection every month is giving me such a hard time. I have started the process with my Attorney. all in all avoid this company, cheap is not always best

This has been the worst experience I have ever had. I was in my first automobile accident coming to two months ago, and have yet to get my car back. When I called my claim in, I was told I would get a call back within 24-72 hours which was not a true statement. I called the adjuster, left several voicemails and he never did answer my call. Again, I have never been in an accident before and did not know the procedure of how this insurance handled their claims. I got a call, first call from this place, from the appraiser stating he was going to go get an estimate of my car. finally after I talked to him a manager answered a few of my questions- still never getting a call back from my adjuster. Finally, they decided it was time to give me an approval or denial of my claim- ok I got approved A MONTH LATER!! So now they take my car to a shop to get it fixed- on top of my deductible they add $227 for parts, complete bullshit. But at this point I am frustrated and I just want my car back, the only car I have. Shop gets it and tells me it will be 5 days after receiving the parts, fine. I am counting down at this point. It will now be 2 weeks, and they sound just like them, making excuses every other day! On the 29th it will be 2 months after the accident. It is ridiculous- I have never heard of such horrible service before. Very disappointed!!!

This place is the reason there should be negative stars on Google. Worst customer service you'll ever experience. They tried to force us to get our car fixed at their low quality body shop. Then when we refused and they took over 2 weeks(working days) to tell us it was totalled and we are responsible for storage and towing!! Horrible management, horrible staff, horrible coverage and hopefully done with them as soon as possible. The manager even hung up on me. Only thing I wish was they were local to see how tough they are in person.

I was rear ended by one of their policy holders and have yet to hear from them. Day one it took five hours to reach someone and when I finally did I was assigned Jeanette Santana as my claim agent and it's been dismal this whole time. She has an attitude, terrible service, and she has no idea what she's doing. I had to file a claim under my own policy just to get my car repaired. She claims that she's not able to reach out to the policy holder. However, my insurance was able to reach them on the first time.

In addition, I was just informed by a former member of My Direct Auto, they will delay your claims and refuse to pay by stating "they can't reach the other party" and drop your claim. They practice this methodology with all their members and screw you over. They're Johnny on the spot when they want their payments but refuse to pay out to anyone if involved in an accident. I'm glad I was informed of this, Jeanette told me that the other party has 30 days to reach out and if they don't My Direct Auto will continue to investigate which will take even longer 60 days minimum per my associate.

I filed under my insurance and within two days my car is now under repair and I will be subjugating a lawsuit against My Direct Auto for my deductible. Buyer BEWARE: use a reliable insurance organization and avoid being subjected to their lunacy tactics. You will get what you pay for and you will lose.

Has got to be the worst insurance company there is. Very rude & incompetent employees. My original claim filed 01/18 and as of today they are issuing my check only because I called inquiring about it! And it took from 12 noon until 15 minutes before there closing time of 5pm to do that. The idiots claim I needed to submit further documentation from my previous financing company aside from submitting the original title to them, stating I am the owner of my vehicle. How incompetent can they be! They will give you the run around if you let them. So just run if considering using Direct Auto for insurance seriously. They don t even deserve 1 star.

I recently, just started with them about a month ago. They already are canceling my policy, due to supposedly at fault accidents. I called the dept of Homeland Security to verify with them if I had any and they stated no. I called once again Direct spoke to multiple reps and every single time the story changed. The last person I spoke to states that they are actually canceling my policy due to NOT AT fault accidents that THEY ARE at " high risk" having me with there company. Therefore since I'm a safe driver, but have been hit in multiple occasions they don't want to take care of anything, or even be involved. So if you want a insurance company that does not or will not protect you at the time of an accident. You came to the right place, because clearly THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!

Everything was done in a timely manner, efficiently, and the tow truck was always on deck! Lol! Full coverage was good! Thank you direct auto!!!!!!

Direct Auto Insurance of Chicago is the worst insurance company I can possibly fathom. They should get a negative star score of -5 or worse. Had to call the IL Dept. of Insurance just to get them to respond to me. Then it still took over 6 months of endless red tape to get them to pay up. The accident wasn t my fault at all and the other guy got the ticket. They still found a way to weasel their way out of 25% of the costs. Almost had to sue them before they paid up. Avoid this company at all costs.

Direct Auto Insurance is the biggest rip off insurance in town. They denied my claim when it was a minor fender bender and didn't notify me about it. Now there is a collection agency after me thanks to them. The collection agency is more helpful than the adjuster named Richard at Direct Auto. Richard is not helping with this case because they do not want to pay out!!! Get real insurance like State Farm and avoid my mistake!!!!!

Also I barely/NEVER got to a person during their short hours and NO weekends schedule so I had to wait like after my car got fixed to get half of the money for a rental. This company process with claims is the worse and not customer friendly at all. It s take this company three weeks just to determine if they would be covering the claim. The worse process I ve ever experienced with any company I m paying my funds to for assistance. I ve been without my car now for two weeks and just keep hearing it s take this long, we have to do this next, than we re still waiting on this or that. This company is a scam I had them for 3+ years I never got into a accident then I took a yellow light and some lady hit me totaling out my car and her vehicle direct auto insurance refused to pay for my damages but most importantly refused to pay for the other vehicles damages denying my coverage so I contacted the Illinois department of insurance so they investigated the entire situation turned out I did have coverage direct auto said I never made a claim two years go by and they still didn't pay for the other persons loses let alone mine now state farm is suing me cause my insurance "direct auto" still hasn't paid for their vehicles damages which I completely understand so now I have to sue Direct auto so I could get what we rightfully deserve my point is Don't get his scam go with a real insurance .......p.s they don't answer the phone at all!!!

I have been trying to get my vehicle repaired after their client hit my vehicle. They said that they mailed information 3 weeks ago, mail does not take 3 weeks to ship when you live a few miles away from their office. I asked if there's a different way that it could be sent rather than mailed, they said there's no other option! They have been dragging their feet, said that they haven't received the police crash report (after I had to buy it online) and was clearly uploaded on the same e-mail that they received other said information on. Wait time on the phone is always between half an hour and an hour. Can't get me a rental vehicle because they "haven't accepted liability", even though their client said it was their fault in the police report. Then their client tried to pin the accident as being my fault after she admitted fault. Don't fall into this trap, insurance companies like this are fake and should not exist. If they don't get this claim fixed soon I'll just let my contacts at NBC and WGN know and they can go in and investigate their company.
